| 1 | Schisandra sphenanthera extract(Wuzhi Tablet)protects against chronic-binge and acute alcohol-induced liver injury by regulating the NRF2-ARE pathway in mice显示文摘Alcohol abuse leads to alcoholic liver disease and no effective therapy is currently available.Wuzhi Tablet(WZ), a preparation of extract from Schisandra sphenanthera that is a traditional hepatoprotective herb, exerted a significant protective effect against acetaminophen-induced liver injury in our recent studies, but whether WZ can alleviate alcohol-induced toxicity remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the contribution of WZ to alcohol-induced liver injury by using chronic-binge and acute models of alcohol feeding. The activities of ALT and AST in serum were assessed as well as the level of GSH and the activity of SOD in the liver. The expression of CYP2E1 and proteins in the NRF2-ARE signaling pathway including NRF2, GCLC, GCLM, HO-1 were measured, and the effect of WZ on NRF2 transcriptional activity was determined. We found that both models resulted in liver steatosis accompanied by increased transaminase activities, but that liver injury was significantly attenuated by WZ. WZ administration also inhibited CYP2E1 expression induced by alcohol, and elevated the level of GSH and the activity of SOD in the liver. Moreover, the NRF2-ARE signaling pathway was activated by WZ andthe target genes were all upregulated. Furthermore, WZ significantly activated NRF2 transcriptional activity. | 2 | Performance improvement of optimization solutions by POD-based data mining显示文摘The performance of an optimized aerodynamic shape is further improved by a second-step optimization using the design knowledge discovered by a data mining technique based on Proper Orthogonal Decomposition(POD) in the present study. Data generated in the first-step optimization by using evolution algorithms is saved as the source data, among which the superior data with improved objectives and maintained constraints is chosen. Only the geometry components of the superior data are picked out and used for constructing the snapshots of POD. Geometry characteristics of the superior data illustrated by POD bases are the design knowledge, by which the second-step optimization can be rapidly achieved. The optimization methods are demonstrated by redesigning a transonic compressor rotor blade, NASA Rotor 37, in the study to maximize the peak adiabatic efficiency, while maintaining the total pressure ratio and mass flow rate.Firstly, the blade is redesigned by using a particle swarm optimization method, and the adiabatic efficiency is increased by 1.29%. Then, the second-step optimization is performed by using the design knowledge, and a 0.25% gain on the adiabatic efficiency is obtained. The results are presented and addressed in detail, demonstrating that geometry variations significantly change the pattern and strength of the shock wave in the blade passage. | 3 | Scheduling Framework Using Dynamic Optimal Power Flow for Battery Energy Storage Systems显示文摘Battery energy storage systems(BESS)are instrumental in the transition to a low carbon electrical network with enhanced flexibility,however,the set objective can be accomplished only through suitable scheduling of their operation.This paper develops a dynamic optimal power flow(DOPF)-based scheduling framework to optimize the day(s)-ahead operation of a grid-scale BESS aiming to mitigate the predicted limits on the renewable energy generation as well as smooth out the network demand to be supplied by conventional generators.In DOPF,all the generating units,including the ones that model the exports and imports of the BESS,across the entire network and the complete time horizon are integrated on to a single network.Subsequently,an AC-OPF is applied to dispatch their power outputs to minimize the total generation cost,while satisfying the power balance equations,and handling the unit and network constraints at each time step coupled with intertemporal constraints associated with the state of charge(SOC).Furthermore,the DOPF developed here entails the frequently applied constant current-constant voltage charging profile,which is represented in the SOC domain.Considering the practical application of a 1 MW BESS on a particular 33 kV network,the scheduling framework is designed to meet the pragmatic requirements of the optimum utilization of the available energy capacity of BESS in each cycle,while completing up to one cycle per day. | Fulin Fan Ivana Kockar Han Xu Jingsi Li | 2022 | CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2022,8,1: | 3 |

| 6 | Wind-farm and hydrogen-storage co-location system optimization for dynamic frequency response in the UK显示文摘The continuous development of hydrogen-electrolyser and fuel-cell technologies not only reduces their investment and operating costs but also improves their technical performance to meet fast-acting requirements of electrical grid balancing services such as frequency-response services.In order to project the feasibility of co-locating a hydrogen-storage system with a wind farm for the dynamic regulation frequency-response provision in Great Britain,this paper develops a modelling framework to coordinate the wind export and frequency responses to the main grid and manage the interaction of the electrolyser,compressor,storage tank and fuel cell within the hydrogen-storage system by respecting the market mechanisms and the balance and conversion of power and hydrogen flows.Then the revenue of frequency-response service provision and a variety of costs induced by the hydrogen-storage system are translated into the net profit of the co-location system,which is maximized by optimizing the capacities of hydrogen-storage-system components,hydrogen-storage levels that guide the hydrogen restoration via operational baselines and the power interchange between a wind-farm and hydrogen-storage system,as well as the capacities tendered for low-and high-frequency dynamic regulation services.The developed modelling framework is tested based on a particular 432-MW offshore wind farm in Great Britain combined with the techno-economics of electrolysers and fuel cells projected for 2030 and 2050 scenarios.The optimized system configuration and operation are compared between different operating scenarios and discussed alongside the prospect of applying hydrogen-storage systems for frequency-response provision. | Fulin Fan Shanay Skellern David Campos-Gaona John Nwobu | 2023 | Clean Energy2023,7,1: | 0 |
| 7 | Prediction of pork supply via the calculation of pig population based on population prediction model显示文摘Based on the perspective of pig population system prediction,and accorded to principle of pig months transfer,this paper refers to the modeling principle and method of discrete population quantity prediction model.Then the prediction model of pork supply is derived and established:Firstly,the recursive model of pig population system and estimation model of pork supply was established.Then this study estimated the sum of monthly mortality and culling rate of breeding sows.Furthermore,the method for new left gilts in each month and estimation of breeding sows at each month of age was established.Last,this research established the estimation method model of the initial state of pig population.On this basis,an example calculation is made to predict the monthly pork supply in Heilongjiang Province from January 2016 to March 2018 in the future.The results showed that the prediction model of pork supply based on the prediction of pig population system is an effective perspective to study the forecast of pork supply.In the prediction stage,the prediction accuracy of the number of slaughtered fattened hogs was 96.36%and 97.54%,and the prediction accuracy of pork supply was 98.08%and 93.82%.This study not only lay a theoretical foundation for further study on the balance between pork supply and demand,but also helps to guide pork producers and governments at all levels to make relevant production decisions and plans. | Fan Zhang Fulin Wang | 2020 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,2: | 0 |
