| 1 | Spatial patterns of ecosystem vulnerability changes during 2001–2011 in the three-river source region of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, China显示文摘The three-river source region(TRSR, including Yangtze, Yellow and Lancang rivers), located in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, China, is a typical alpine zone with apparent ecosystem vulnerability and sensitivity. In this paper, we introduced many interdisciplinary factors, such as landscape pattern indices(Shannon diversity index and Shannon evenness index) and extreme climate factors(number of extreme high temperature days, number of extreme low temperature days, and number of extreme precipitation days), to establish a new model for evaluating the spatial patterns of ecosystem vulnerability changes in the TRSR. The change intensity(CI) of ecosystem vulnerability was also analyzed. The results showed that the established evaluation model was effective and the ecosystem vulnerability in the whole study area was intensive. During the study period of 2001–2011, there was a slight degradation in the eco-environmental quality. The Yellow River source region had the best eco-environmental quality, while the Yangtze River source region had the worst one. In addition, the zones dominated by deserts were the most severely deteriorated areas and the eco-environmental quality of the zones occupied by evergreen coniferous forests showed a better change. Furthermore, the larger the change rates of the climate factors(accumulative temperature of ≥10°C and annual average precipitation) are, the more intensive the CI of ecosystem vulnerability is. | 2 | Calcium sulfate whisker prepared by flue gas desulfurization gypsum:A physical–chemical coupling production process显示文摘In this paper,the solid waste desulfurization gypsum produced by coal-fired power plants was used as a raw material to prepare calcium sulfate whiskers with high application prospects.Calcium sulfate whiskers with uniform morphology and high aspect ratio can be prepared by hydrothermal method in sulfuric acid solution.A new process of desulfurization gypsum activated by high-energy grinding to reduce the reaction temperature and sulfuric acid concentration was developed.Through the comparison of product morphology,the best grinding time was determined to be 3.5 h.The mechanism of desulfurization gypsum through physical–chemical coupling to reduce energy consumption was clarified.The activation of desulfurization gypsum by grinding and the acidic environment provided by the sulfuric acid solution made the calcium sulfate solution reached rapid saturation and accelerated the nucleation rate.By calculating the conversion and crystallization rate of calcium sulfate whiskers,it was found that there were obvious'autocatalytic'kinetic characteristics during the crystallization process. | Jing Gao Qiang Li Fuli Liu | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,8: | 10 |
| 3 | Dosimetric evaluation of VMAT radiation therapy technique for breast cancer after conservative surgery based on three different types of multileaf collimators显示文摘Objective Radiotherapy combined with conservative surgery plays an important role in the treatment of early-stage breast cancer. Volumetric modulated arc therapy(VMAT) has been introduced into clinical practice. The purpose of this study was to investigate the dosimetric effects of different multileaf collimators(MLC) on VMAT radiotherapy plans for treating breast cancer.Methods Fifteen breast cancer patients who were treated using a conventional technique in our department were selected to participate in this retrospective analysis. VMAT plans based on three types of Elekta MLCs [Beam Modulator(BM) with 4-mm leaf width, Agility with 5-mm leaf width and MLCi2 with 10-mm leaf width] were independently generated for each patient. Plan comparisons were performed based on dose-volume histogram(DVH) analysis including dosimetric parameters such as the homogeneity index(HI), conformity index(CI), Dmax, Dmin, and Dmean for the planning treatment volume(PTV), in addition to dose-volume parameters for the organs at risk(OARs). The delivery efficiency of the three types of MLCs was compared in terms of the beam delivery time and the monitor units(MUs) per fraction for each plan. Results Both target uniformity and conformity were improved in plans for Agility and BM MLC compared with the plan using MLCi2. The mean HI decreased from 1.14 for MLCi2 to 1.13 for BM and 1.10 for Agility, while the mean CI increased from 0.68 for MLCi2 to 0.73 for BM and 0.75 for Agility. Furthermore, at both low and high dose levels, smaller volumes of ipsilateral lung, heart, contralateral lung, and breast were irradiated with Agility MLC than with the other two types of MLCs. | 4 | Probing the fractional topological charge of a vortex light beam by using dynamic angular double slits显示文摘Vortex beams with fractional topological charge(FTC) have many special characteristics and novel applications.However, one of the obstacles for their application is the difficulty of precisely determining the FTC of fractional vortex beams. We find that when a vortex beam with an FTC illuminates a dynamic angular double slit(ADS), the far-field interference patterns that include the information of the FTC of the beam at the angular bisector direction of the ADS vary periodically. | 5 | Microglia modulation with 1070-nm light attenuates Aβ burden and cognitive impairment in Alzheimer’s disease mouse model显示文摘Photobiomodulation,by utilizing low-power light in the visible and near-infrared spectra to trigger biological responses in cells and tissues,has been considered as a possible therapeutic strategy for Alzheimer’s disease(AD),while its specific mechanisms have remained elusive.Here,we demonstrate that cognitive and memory impairment in an AD mouse model can be ameliorated by 1070-nm light via reducing cerebralβ-amyloid(Aβ)burden,the hallmark of AD.The glial cells,including microglia and astrocytes,play important roles in Aβclearance.Our results show that 1070-nm light pulsed at 10 Hz triggers microglia rather than astrocyte responses in AD mice.The 1070-nm lightinduced microglia responses with alteration in morphology and increased colocalization with Aβare sufficient to reduce Aβload in AD mice.Moreover,1070-nm light pulsed at 10 Hz can reduce perivascular microglia and promote angiogenesis to further enhance Aβclearance.Our study confirms the important roles of microglia and cerebral vessels in the use of 1070-nm light for the treatment of AD mice and provides a framework for developing a novel therapeutic approach for AD. | Lechan Tao Qi Liu Fuli Zhang Yuting Fu Xi Zhu Xiaofu Weng Hongbin Han Yong Huang Yuanzhen Suo Liang Chen Xiaoling Gao Xunbin Wei | 2021 | Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,10: | 4 |

| 7 | Synthesis of carbon-coated cobalt ferrite core-shell structure composite:A method for enhancing electromagnetic wave absorption properties by adjusting impedance matching显示文摘Cobalt ferrite has problems such as poor impedance matching and high density,which results in unsatisfactory electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorption performance.In this study,the CoFe_(2)O_(4)@C core-shell structure composite was synthesized by a two-step hydrothermal method.X-ray diffraction,transmission electron microscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,thermogravimetric analysis,and vector network analysis et al.were used to test the structure and EMW absorption properties of CoFe_(2)O_(4)@C composite.The results show that the reflection loss(RL)of the CoFe_(2)O_(4)@C composite reaches the maximum value of25.66 dB at 13.92 GHz,and the effective absorbing band(EAB)is 4.59 GHz(11.20-15.79 GHz)when the carbon mass content is 6.01%.The RL and EAB of CoFe_(2)O_(4)@C composite are increased by 219.55%and 4.59 GHz respectively,and the density is decreased by 20.78%compared with the cobalt ferrite.Such enhanced EMW absorption properties of CoFe_(2)O_(4)@C composite are attributed to the attenuation caused by the strong natural resonance of the cobalt ferrite,moreover,the carbon coating layer adjusts the impedance matching of the composite,and the introduced dipole polarization and interface polarization can cause multiple Debye relaxation processes. | Jing Gao Zhijun Ma Fuli Liu Cunxin Chen | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,7: | 1 |
| 8 | Enhancement of the angular rotation measurement sensitivity based on SU(2)and SU(1,1) interferometers显示文摘We investigate the sensitivity of the angular rotation measurement with the method of homodyne detection in SU(2) and SU(1,1) interferometers by employing orbital angular momentum(OAM). By combining a coherent beam with a vacuum beam in an SU(2) interferometer, we get the sensitivity of the angular rotation measurement as 1/(2N^(1/2)l). We can surpass the limit of the angular rotation measurement in an SU(1,1) interferometer by combining a coherent beam with a vacuum beam or a squeezed vacuum beam when the probe beam has OAM. Without injection, the sensitivity can reach 1/(2N^(1/2)l). In addition, by employing another construction of an SU(1,1) interferometer where the pump beam has OAM, with the same injection of an SU(1,1) interferometer, the sensitivity of the angular rotation measurement can be improved by a factor of 2, reaching 1/(4Nl). | 12 | On the measurements of individual particle properties via compression and crushing显示文摘An experimental study is presented to measure the elastic,yielding,and crushing properties of individual particles under compression using substrates made of aluminum alloy,stainless steel,and sapphire.Carefully selected,highly spherical individual Ottawa sand particles of 0.75e1.1 mm in nominal diameter were compressed between two smooth substrates,and the loadedeformation curves were analyzed by Hertz elastic contact theory to derive their reduced modulus and Young’s modulus as well as yielding and crushing strengths,which vary significantly with the type of substrate materials.Further analysis of the yielding and plastic deformation at the particle-substrate contact shows that the yield strength or hardness of the substrate materials dominates the local contact behavior and hence affects the measured apparent yielding and crushing strengths.The two softer substrates(aluminum alloy and stainless steel)actually lead to underestimated apparent shear yield strengths of quartz particles by 60.4%and 54.2%,respectively,which are actually the yielding of substrates,while the true particle yielding occurs in the sapphire-particle contact.Moreover,the two softer substrates cause much overestimated crushing strengths of the quartz particles by 50.4%and 36.4%,respectively.Selection of inappropriate substrate materials and inappropriate interpretation of the particle-substrate contact can lead to significant errors in the measured yielding and crushing strengths.It is recommended that single particle compression testing uses substrates with yield strength greater than that of the tested particles and result interpretation also considers the elastic and yielding behaviors of the substrates. | Chunlong Liu Fengyin Liu Jinliang Song Fuli Ma Dongfang Wang Guoping Zhang | 2021 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2021,13,2: | 1 |

| 16 | Dominant changes in the breast muscle lipid profiles of broiler chickens with wooden breast syndrome revealed by lipidomics analyses显示文摘Background: Chicken is the most consumed meat worldwide and the industry has been facing challenging myopathies. Wooden breast(WB), which is often accompanied by white striping(WS), is a serious myopathy adversely affecting meat quality of breast muscles. The underlying lipid metabolic mechanism of WB affected broilers is not fully understood.Results: A total of 150 chickens of a white-feathered, fast-growing pure line were raised and used for the selection of WB, WB + WS and control chickens. The lipids of the breast muscle, liver, and serum from different chickens were extracted and measured using ultra performance liquid chromatography(UPLC) plus Q-Exactive Orbitrap tandem mass spectrometry. In the breast, 560 lipid molecules were identified. Compared to controls, 225/225 of 560 lipid molecules(40.2%) were identified with differential abundance(DA), including 92/100 significantly increased neutral lipids and 107/98 decreased phospholipids in the WB/WB + WS groups, respectively. The content of monounsaturated fatty acids(MUFA) was significantly higher, and the polyunsaturated fatty acids(PUFA) and saturated fatty acids(SFA) were significantly lower in the affected breasts. In the liver, 434 lipid molecules were identified, and 39/61 DA lipid molecules(6.7%/14.1%) were detected in the WB and WB + WS groups, respectively. In the serum, a total of 529 lipid molecules were identified and 4/44 DA lipid molecules(0.8%/8.3%) were detected in WB and WB + WS group, respectively. Compared to controls, the content of MUFAs in the serum and breast of the WB + WS group were both significantly increased, and the content of SFAs in two tissues were both significantly decreased. Only five lipid molecules were consistently increased in both liver and serum in WB + WS group.Conclusions: We have found for the first time that the dominant lipid profile alterations occurred in the affected breast muscle. The relative abundance of 40.2% of lipid molecules were changed and is characteristic of increased neutral lipids and decreased phospholipids in the affected breasts. Minor changes of lipid profiles in the liver and serum of the affected groups were founded.
