1New eolian red clay sequence on the western Chinese Loess Plateau linked to onset of Asian desertification about 25 Ma ago显示文摘The expansion of inland Asia deserts has considerably influenced the environmental, social and economic activities in Asia. Aridification of inland Asia, especially timing of the initiation of Asian desertification, is a contentious topic in paleoclimatology. Late Cenozoic eolian loess-red clay sequences on the Chinese Loess Plateau, which possess abundant paleoclimatic and paleo-environmental information, can be regarded as an indicator of inland Asia desertification. Here we present a detailed magnetostratigraphic investigation of a new red clay sequence about 654 m in Zhuanglang located at the western Chinese Loess Plateau. Sedimentological, geochemical, mineralogical, and quartz morphological lines of evidence show that the red clay is of eolian origin. Magnetostratigraphic correlations indicate that this core sequence spans from 25.6 to 4.8 Ma, and typical eolian red clay appears as early as 25 Ma. This extends the lower limit of the red clay on the Chinese Loess Plateau from the previously thought early Miocene back into the late Oligocene. This new red clay record further implies that the inland Asia desertification was initiated at least by the late Oligocene. 2Effect of cooling rates on dendrite spacings of directionally solidified DZ125 alloy under high thermal gradient显示文摘The dendrite morphologies and spacings of directionally solidified DZ125 superalloy were investigated under high thermal gradient about 500 K/cm. The results reveal that, with increasing cooling rate, both the spacings of primary and secondary dendrite arms decrease, and the dendrite morphologies transit from coarse to superfine dendrite. The secondary dendrite arms trend to be refined and be well developed, and the tertiary dendrite will occur. The predictions of the Kurz/Fisher model and the Hunt/Lu model accord basically with the experimental data for primary dendrite arm spacing. The regression equation of the primary dendrite arm spacings λ1 and the cooling rate Vc is λ1=0.013Vc-0.32. 3An Efficient and Stable Ionic Liquid System for Synthesis of Ethylene Glycol via Hydrolysis of Ethylene Carbonate显示文摘An ionic liquid system of [Bmim]X/[Bmim]OH(X Cl,BF4,and PF6,) was developed for the hydroly-sis of ethylene carbonate to ethylene glycol. The important parameters,such as the variety of ionic liquids,molar ratio of [Bmim]X to [Bmim]OH,amount of ionic liquid,molar ratio of water to ethylene carbonate,reaction tem-perature,pressure and reaction time,were investigated systematically. Excellent yield(>93%) and high selectivity(99.5%) of ethylene glycol were achieved. 4Effect of cooling rate on MC carbide in directionally solidified nickel-based superalloy under high thermal gradient显示文摘A series of directional solidification experiments have been performed to study the effect of cooling rate on the precipitation behavior of MC carbide in nickel-based superalloy under the temperature gradient of 500 K·s-1.Results reveal that the morphology of MC carbide changes from coarse block to fine strip,then to Chinese-script,and their sizes reduce gradually with the increasing of cooling rate from 2.53 K·s-1 to 36.4 K·s-1.At low cooling rates,most of these carbides are found to be located at the grain boundary and interdendritic regions,while the coupled growth of some carbides and γ matrix in the center of γ grains is occurred at high cooling rate.The main elements forming MC carbide are Ta,W,and Hf.Zhang Weiguo Liu Lin Fu Hengzhi 2012China Foundry2012,9,1:4
5Effect of solidification parameters on the microstructures of a single crystal Ni-based superalloy AM3显示文摘A single crystal Ni-based superalloy AM3 was processed at withdraw rates of 3.5, 10, 50, 100, 200, and 500 μm·s-1, respectively.The as-cast microstructures and solidification segregation ratio were characterized with various withdraw rates.The shape and size of carbide microstructures were determined.As expected, the primary and secondary dendrite arm spacings (PDAS and SDAS) decrease with the increase of withdraw rate.The highest volume fraction of eutectic γ/γ' is observed at the 100 μm·s-1 withdraw rate.The volume fraction of eutectic γ/γ' does not appear to be a strong function of the withdraw rate.With increasing withdraw rate, interface morphologies change in the sequence of planar, cellular, and dendrite.There is a general refinement of the microstructure as the withdraw rate increases.EPMA analysis showed that withdraw rate does not have obvious influence on the segregation of elements.Yu Zhuhuan Liu Lin Zhao Xinbao Zhang Weiguo Zhang Jun Fu Hengzhi 2010China Foundry2010,7,3:4
6Distribution of branched glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers in soils on the Northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and possible production by nitrite-reducing bacteria显示文摘Branched glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers(b GDGTs) are ubiquitous and abundant in soils, but their sources remain elusive. Recent studies demonstrate that the distributions of b GDGTs are sensitive to various environmental factors. In an effort to understand how and to what extent soil moisture(expressed as soil water content(SWC) or mean annual precipitation(MAP), p H and temperature may impact the distribution of b GDGTs, and to shed more light on the biological sources of b GDGTs in cold and arid regions, we investigated the distribution of b GDGTs as well as bacterial 16 S r RNA gene and functional genes involved in the N cycle(including amo A, nir S and nir K) in 41 surface soil samples from around Lake Qinghai and east of Qaidam Basin on the Northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. We found that lower soil moisture reduced the fractional concentrations of cyclic b GDGTs and thus the cyclisation ratio of branched tetraethers(CBT) index correlated negatively with SWC and MAP, suggesting that soil moisture is an important factor controlling b GDGT distributions in soils in this arid and semi-arid region. Two subgroups of b GDGTs were assigned on the basis of cluster analysis, and b GDGT indices behaved differently in the two groups, hinting at different biosynthetic mechanisms for b GDGTs under different environmental conditions. Real time PCR results showed that nir S and nir K genes correlated significantly with the concentration of b GDGTs, suggesting that the nir S- or nir K-encoding bacteria involved in denitrification might potentially be an additional biological source for soil b GDGTs(besides Acidobacteria). 8Feedback control for a class of second order hyperbolic distributed parameter systems显示文摘This paper deals with the problem of state feedback control for a class of the distributed parameter systems with the disturbance term. And the considered distributed parameter systems are composed of the second order hyperbolic partial differential equations. Two different classes of restrictions on the disturbance term are given, one is that the disturbance term satisfies the linear growth constraint condition to the state variables of the system, and the other is that the disturbance term obeys the bound constraint under the significance of L_2. Based on a variable structure method, the state feedback controllers are obtained by means of constructing appropriate Lyapunov functional. The closed-loop systems are globally asymptotically stable on W^(1,2)(0, 1) × L_2(0, 1) space under the effect of the state feedback control laws. 10Effect of carbon additions on the microstructure of a single crystal Ni-based superalloy AM3显示文摘The microstructure of experimental nickel-base single crystal superalloys with different levels of carbon has been studied. The results indicated that with increasing carbon addition, the liquidus temperature decreased obviously and the as-cast microstructures exhibited a decrease in the amount of γ/γ′ eutectic structure and an increase in the volume fraction of carbides. The carbides formed in these alloys were most script-type MC carbides which appeared continuous dendritic networks in the interdendritic region. 17OTUB1 promotes osteoblastic bone formation through stabilizing FGFR2显示文摘Bone homeostasis is maintained by the balance between osteoblastic bone formation and osteoclastic bone resorption.Dysregulation of this process leads to multiple diseases,including osteoporosis.However,the underlying molecular mechanisms are not fully understood.Here,we show that the global and conditional osteoblast knockout of a deubiquitinase Otub1 result in low bone mass and poor bone strength due to defects in osteogenic differentiation and mineralization.Mechanistically,the stability of FGFR2,a crucial regulator of osteogenesis,is maintained by OTUB1.OTUB1 attenuates the E3 ligase SMURF1-mediated FGFR2 ubiquitination by inhibiting SMURF1’s E2 binding.In the absence of OTUB1,FGFR2 is ubiquitinated excessively by SMURF1,followed by lysosomal degradation.Consistently,adeno-associated virus serotype 9(AAV9)-delivered FGFR2 in knee joints rescued the bone mass loss in osteoblast-specific Otub1-deleted mice.Moreover,Otub1 mRNA level was significantly downregulated in bones from osteoporotic mice,and restoring OTUB1 levels through an AAV9-delivered system in ovariectomy-induced osteoporotic mice attenuated osteopenia.Taken together,our results suggest that OTUB1 positively regulates osteogenic differentiation and mineralization in bone homeostasis by controlling FGFR2 stability,which provides an optical therapeutic strategy to alleviate osteoporosis.Qiong Zhu Yesheng Fu Chun-Ping Cui Yi Ding Zhikang Deng Chao Ning Fan Hu Chen Qiu Biyue Yu Xuemei Zhou Guan Yang Jiang Peng Weiguo Zou Cui Hua Liu Lingqiang Zhang 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,5:1
18Effects of tacrolimus (FK506) on sciatic nerve regeneration in rats显示文摘BACKGROUND:Tacrolimus(FK506) protects peripheral nerves located in damaged regions by inhibiting T lymphocyte proliferation and activation. OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effect of FK506 on promoting regeneration of rat sciatic nerve. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A randomized,controlled,animal study was performed at the Laboratory of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery,Dalian Medical University,China,from September 2007 to September 2008. MATERIALS:A total of 60 adult,male,Sprague-Dawley rats were equally and randomly divided into model,local administration and systemic administration groups.All rats received a neurotomy of bilateral sciatic nerves to establish models of nerve regeneration chambers.The powder and injection of FK506 were supplied by Fujisawa Pharmaceutical,Japan. METHODS:The regeneration chambers of the model group were infused with 0.2 mL saline.The systemic group were injected with 0.2 mL saline,followed by daily subcutaneous injections of FK506 (1 mg/kg),for 14 days.The local administration group was infused with 0.2 mL FK506(1μg/mL). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Local immune response was observed using hematoxylin-eosin staining.Myelinated nerve fiber number,myelin sheath and nerve fiber thickness were observed using toluidine blue staining.Wet weight of gastrocnemius was evaluated.Compound muscle action potential amplitude,latency,and conduction time were recorded,and motor nerve conduction velocity was calculated using electrophysiology. RESULTS:The total number of myelinated nerve fibers in the local and systemic administration groups was significantly higher than in the model group.The density of myelinated nerve fibers, myelin sheath thickness and mean axon diameter were significantly increased in the systemic administration group compared with the model group(P<0.05).Lymphocyte infiltration was decreased in the local and systemic administration groups compared with the model group.The wet weight of rat gastrocnemius in the local and systemic administration groups were significantly greater compared with the model group(P<0.05).Motor nerve conduction velocity was the fastest in the systemic administration group,and the slowest in the model group.Compound muscle action potential amplitude was larger in the systemic administration group compared with the local administration and model groups(P<0.05).
