1中国女性的年龄相关骨密度、骨丢失率、骨质疏松发生率及参考数据库--多中心合作项目显示文摘目的本研究采用多中心合作调查了中国女性的年龄相关骨密度(BMD)、骨丢失率和骨质疏松发生率。调查结果被用来建立一个BMD参考数据库,用以诊断中国女性的骨质疏松。方法采用双能X线吸收骨密度测量仪(DXA)测量了北京、上海、广州、成都、南京和嘉兴地区20~89岁女性的腰椎(L1~L4)(n=8142)和髋部(n=7290)的BMD值。不同部位骨骼BMD随年龄的变化用三次回归模型拟合来描述。结果股骨颈和全股骨的BMD峰值出现在30~34岁,脊柱和股骨粗隆部的峰值出现在40~44岁。年轻成人的(YA)的BMD值(均值和标准差(SD)用20~39岁年龄段的平均BMD进行计算)在后前位脊柱、股骨颈、股骨粗隆和全股骨分别为1.116±0.12g/cm2、0.927±0.12g/cm2、0.756±0.11g/cm2和0.963±0.13g/cm2。85岁老年女性脊柱的BMD减少了32%,股骨减少了30%~35%。骨质疏松的定义是BMD值与本研究组中确立的年轻成人BMD值相比≤-2.5个标准差,在50岁及以上的女性,发生率分别为脊柱28%、股骨任何部位15%、脊柱或者股骨为31%。结论本研究为中国女性骨质疏松的预防和治疗提供了重要数据,并且建立了一个可供全中国范围内女性骨质疏松诊断使用的可靠的参考数据库。程晓光 杨定焯 周琦 卓铁军 张华俦 项靖 王洪福 欧品中 徐黎 刘建立 徐苓 黄公怡 黄琪仁 H.S Barden L-S Weynand K-G Faulkner 孟迅吾 2008中国骨质疏松杂志2008,14,4:73
2Toxic stress,inflammation and symptomatology of chronic complications in diabetes显示文摘Diabetes affects at least 382 million people worldwide and the incidence is expected to reach 592 million by 2035.The incidence of diabetes in youth is skyrocketing as evidenced by a 21% increase in type 1 diabetes and a 30.5% increase in type 2 diabetes in the United States between 2001 and 2009.The effects of toxic stress,the culmination of biological and environmental interactions,on the development of diabetes complications is gaining attention.Stress impacts the hypothalamus-pituitaryadrenal axis and contributes to inflammation,a keybiological contributor to the pathogenesis of diabetes and its associated complications.This review provides an overview of common diabetic complications such as neuropathy,cognitive decline,depression,nephropathy and cardiovascular disease.The review also provides a discussion of the role of inflammation and stress in the development and progression of chronic complications of diabetes,associated symptomatology and importance of early identification of symptoms of depression,fatigue,exercise intolerance and pain.Charles A Downs Melissa Spezia Faulkner 2015World Journal of Diabetes2015,6,4:12
3Canadian children’s and youth’s adherence to the 24-h movement guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic: A decision tree analysis显示文摘Purpose:The purpose of this study was to use decision tree modeling to generate profiles of children and youth who were more and less likely to meet the Canadian 24-h movement guidelines during the coronavirus disease-2019(COVID-19)outbreak.Methods:Data for this study were from a nationally representative sample of 1472 Canadian parents(Meanage=45.12,SD=7.55)of children(511 years old)or youth(1217 years old).Data were collected in April 2020 via an online survey.Survey items assessed demographic,behavioral,social,micro-environmental,and macro-environmental characteristics.Four decision trees of adherence and non-adherence to all movement recommendations combined and each individual movement recommendation(physical activity(PA),screen time,and sleep)were generated.Results:Results revealed specific combinations of adherence and non-adherence characteristics.Characteristics associated with adherence to the recommendation(s)included high parental perceived capability to restrict screen time,annual household income ofCAD 100,000,increases in children’s and youth’s outdoor PA/sport since the COVID-19 outbreak began,being a boy,having parents younger than 43 years old,and small increases in children’s and youth’s sleep duration since the COVID-19 outbreak began.Characteristics associated with non-adherence to the recommendation(s)included low parental perceived capability to restrict screen time,youth aged 1217 years,decreases in children’s and youth’s outdoor PA/sport since the COVID-19 outbreak began,primary residences located in all provinces except Quebec,low parental perceived capability to support children’s and youth’s sleep and PA,and annual household income ofCAD 99,999.Conclusion:Our results show that specific characteristics interact to contribute to(non)adherence to the movement behavior recommendations.Results highlight the importance of targeting parents’perceived capability for the promotion of children’s and youth’s movement behaviors during challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic,paying particular attention to enhancing parental perceived capability to restrict screen time.Michelle D.Guerrero Leigh M.Vanderloo Ryan E.Rhodes Guy Faulkner Sarah A.Moore Mark S.Tremblay 2020Journal of Sport and Health Science2020,9,4:4
4Development and evaluation of corrosion resistant coating for expandable rock bolt against highly corrosive ground conditions显示文摘Expandable rock bolts are widely used in hard rock mines as an efficient ground control product.However, capacity and service life can be significantly reduced if the metallic body is subjected to corrosion.In some hard rock mines in the U.S., highly corrosive ground conditions exist, and it has been reported that inflatable rock bolts have corroded within a few months after installation.To provide mining industry a cost-effective inflatable bolt and combat the corrosion issues, Jennmar Corporation, Inc.,and its subsidiary Keystone Mining Services, LLC(KMS), analyzed corroded bolt samples, identified root causes, evaluated properties of various coating materials, and developed a new inflatable rock bolt,Python M3^(TM), that is protected with an innovative PyFlexU2^(TM)coating.The new generation Python M3^(TM) features improved steel chemistry for reliable performance, modified profile for better inflation, and surface preparation and coating application.The PyFlexU2^(TM)is impervious to liquid and air, durable, and UV resistant.With a flexible, adhesive, and highly corrosion-resistant undercoating, and a very hard sacrificial surface coating, the PyFlexU2^(TM)coating system provides the Python M3^(TM)superior protection against chemical corrosion and physical scratch damage.The under-coating has exceptional flexibility and adhesion to prevent coating micro-cracks or fractures after bolt inflation and possesses excellent corrosion resistance to acids(pH < 3), alkalis(p H > 11), fuels, and salt solvents.The corrosion and scratch resistant PyFlexU2^(TM)coating offers very effective bolt protection for extra longevity in highly corrosive environments.The Python M3^(TM)coated with PyFlexU2^(TM)has been tested in the most challenging conditions,including laboratory corrosion tests in extreme acidic and basic solvents, rock slurry, and borehole scratch insertion tests.With demonstrated corrosion and scratch resistance, the product has been greatly welcomed by hard rock mines in the West and is currently installed in large scale.This paper identifies the root causes of the bolt corrosion, discusses the analysis process, and details laboratory and underground tests carried out on the Python M3^(TM)coated with PyFlexU2^(TM).The Python M3^(TM)and PyFlexU2^(TM) are subjects covered by pending U.S.Patent Applications assigned to FCI Holdings Delaware, LLC.Kevin Jinrong Ma John Stankus Dakota Faulkner 2018International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2018,28,1:3
