1Future Physics Programme of BESⅢ显示文摘There has recently been a dramatic renewal of interest in hadron spectroscopy and charm physics. This renaissance has been driven in part by the discovery of a plethora of charmonium-like XYZ states at BESⅢ and B factories, and the observation of an intriguing proton-antiproton threshold enhancement and the possibly related X(1835) meson state at BESⅢ, as well as the threshold measurements of charm mesons and charm baryons. We present a detailed survey of the important topics in tau-charm physics and hadron physics that can be further explored at BESⅢ during the remaining operation period of BEPCⅡ. 5Prevalence of Atrial Fibrillation in China and Its Risk Factors显示文摘Objective To study the prevalence of atrial fibrillation(AF)and the relation with its risk factors in China.Methods A total of 19 363 participants(8635 males and 10 728 females) aged ≥35 years in geographically dispersed urban and rural regions of China were included in this cross-sectional survey.All participants received questionnaire,physical and blood examination.Echocardiography were performed for AF patients found in the survey.Results Of the 19 363 participants,199 were diagnosed with AF.The estimated age-standardized prevalence of AF was 0.78% in men and 0.76% in women.The prevalence of AF in participants aged <60 years was 0.41% in men and 0.43% in women,and was 1.83% in both men and women aged ≥60 years.About 19.0% of males and 30.9% of females with AF were diagnosed with valve disease.Age-and sex-adjusted multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed that myocardial infarction,left ventricular hypertrophy(LVH),obesity,and alcohol consumption were associated with a increased risk of AF(P<0.05).Conclusion The age standardized prevalence of AF is 0.77% in the participants enrolled in the present study.The number of AF cases aged ≥35 years is 5.26 million according to 2010 Chinese Census.Most risk factors for AF,identified mainly in Western countries,are also detected in China.LI Ying WU Yang Feng CHEN Ke Ping LI Xian ZHANG Xing XIE Gao Qiang WANG Fang Zheng ZHANG Shu 2013Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2013,26,9:48

9Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction for treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy:a meta-analysis of 16 randomized controlled trials显示文摘OBJECTIVE:This meta-analysis was performed to systematically assess the efficacy and safety of the Chinese herbal medicine Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction(HGWWD) for treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy.DATA SOURCES:Six electronic databases,including the Cochrane Library,MEDLINE database,Chinese Biomedical Database,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,Chinese Science and Technique Journals Database,and the Wanfang Database,were search ed on the internet for randomized controlled trials published up until 1 December 2015.The search terms included 'Chinese herbal medicine','diabetic peripheral neuropathy' and 'randomized controlled trials' in Chinese and in English.DATA SELECTION:We included randomized controlled trials using HGWWD/modified HGWWD for the treatment group,without restriction for the control group.We assessed literature quality in accordance with the Cochrane Review Handbook.A random or a fixed effects model was used to analyze outcomes using Rev Man 5.2 software.OUTCOME MEASURES:The primary outcomes were changes in symptoms and nerve conduction velocities.The secondary outcomeswere fasting blood glucose and hemorheological indexes.RESULTS:Sixteen randomized controlled trials,with a total of 1,173 patients,were included.Meta-analysis revealed that the efficacy of HGWWD for diabetic peripheral neuropathy was significantly superior compared with the control treatment(i.e.,control group)(risk ratio = 0.36,95% confidence interval(CI):0.29–0.46,Z =8.33,P < 0.00001) Compared with the control group,there was an increase in median motor nerve conduction velocity(mean difference(MD) = 3.46,95%CI:1.88–5.04,Z = 4.30,P < 0.01) and median sensory nerve conduction velocity(MD = 3.30,95%CI:2.04–4.56,Z = 5.14,P < 0.01).There was also an increase in peroneal motor nerve conduction velocity(MD = 3.22,95%CI:2.45–3.98,Z = 8.21,P < 0.01) and peroneal sensory nerve conduction velocity(MD = 3.05,95%CI:2.01–4.09,Z = 5.75,P < 0.01) in the treatment groups.No significant difference in fasting blood glucose was found between the treatment groups and the control groups(MD =-0.12,95%CI:-0.42–0.19,Z = 0.76,P = 0.45).Plasma viscosity was significantly decreased after treatment(MD =-0.11,95%CI:-0.21 to-0.02,Z = 2.30,P = 0.02).No significant difference in fibrinogen was detectable(MD =-0.53,95%CI:-1.28–0.22,Z = 1.38,P = 0.17).Four trials reported that treatment groups experienced no adverse reactions.Adverse events were not mentioned in the other 12 trials.No trial reported the incidence of complications,quality of life outcomes,or health economics.CONCLUSION:HGWWD treatment improves diabetic neurologic symptoms and ameliorates nerve conduction velocities.Our study suggests that HGWWD may have significant therapeutic efficacy for the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.However,the methodological quality of the randomized controlled trials was generally low.Larger and better-designed randomized controlled trials are required to more reliably assess the clinical effectiveness of HGWWD.Bing Pang Tian-yu Zhao Lin-hua Zhao Fang Wan Ru Ye Qiang Zhou Feng Tian Xiao-lin Tong 2016Neural Regeneration Research2016,11,8:32

12Evaluation of a granulated formula for the nerve root type and vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis:a multicenter,single-blind,randomized,controlled,phase Ⅲ clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of cervical spondylosis formula granules in reducing the symptoms of patients with the nerve root type and the vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis.METHODS:This was a multicenter, single-blind,randomized, controlled trial.From April 2002 to November 2003, 499 patients were randomly assigned to either the treatment or the control group.The treatment group was orally administered granules prepared with a formula for cervical spondylosis, while the control group was given Jingfukang granules.The treatment course was 1 month for both groups.RESULTS:In patients with the nerve root type of cervical spondylosis, the total effect rate in the treatment group(87.21%) was significantly higher than that in the control group(80.70%, P < 0.01).After the treatment period in both groups, the treatment group had a significantly greater rate of resolution of pain, numbness of the upper limbs, muscle strength of the upper limbs, and fatigue than the control group(all P < 0.05).In patients with the vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis, the total effect rate in the treatment group(82.07%) was similar to that in the control group(71.21%, P >0.05).After the treatment period in both groups,the treatment group had a significantly greater rate of resolution of weakness of the waist and knees than the control group(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:The cervical spondylosis formula granules significantly improve numbness, muscle strength, and fatigue, and reduce pain in patients with the nerve root type of cervical spondylosis,and improve the weakness of the waist and knees in patients with the vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis.Luo Xiaodong Wang Peng Li Zhe Liang De Huang Feng Liu Jinwen Chen Xinyu Hu Guoheng Fang Suting Zhang Huajian 2017Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2017,37,2:28
13Waist Circumference Reference Values for Screening Cardiovascular Risk Factors in Chinese Children and Adolescents显示文摘Objectives To explore the optimal threshold values of waist circumference(WC)for detecting cardiovascular(CV)risk factors among Chinese children and adolescents.Methods Association of WC with CV risk factors was studied among 65 898 children aged 7-18 years whose data were pooled from nine previous studies in China.CV risk factors in this study included hypertension(blood pressure above 95 percentile levels),dyslipidemia(with one or more of the following three indexes:TG≥1.7 mmol/L,TC≥5.18 mmol/L,and HDL-C≤1.04 mmol/L)and elevated glucose level(fasting plasma glucose ≥5.6 mmol/L).Receive-operating characteristic analysis(ROC)and logistic regression were employed to derive optimal age-and sex-specific waist circumference references for predicting CV risk factors.Results A slight increasing trend of CV risk factors was observed starting from the 75th percentile of waist circumference in the study population,while a remarkable increasing trend occurred from the 90th percentile.The optimal waist circumference thresholds for predicting high blood pressures were at the 75th percentile for both boys and girls,which was at the 90th percentiles for detecting at least two of the above three CV risk factors.In comparison with children with waist circumference below the 75th percentile,the odds ratio of two CV risk factors doubled among children with waist circumference between the 75th and the 90th percentile,and increased by 6 times among children with waist circumference above the 90th percentile.The trend of high blood pressure increasing with waist circumference remained significant after having been stratified by BMI category.Conclusion The 75th and the 90th percentiles of WC are the optimal cut-off points for predicting an increased and a substantially increased risk of CV factors in Chinese children and adolescents,respectively.GUAN-SHENG MA CHENG-YE JI JUN MA JIE MI R1TA YT SLING FENG XIONG WEI-LI YAN XIAO-QI HU YAN-PING LI SONG-M1NG DU HONG-YUN FANG AND J1NG-XIONG JIANG 2010Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2010,23,1:25
14Prediction of recurrence and prognosis in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma after resection by use of CLIP score显示文摘AIM: The survival time of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after resection is hard to predict. Both residual liver function and tumor extension factors should be considered. A new scoring system has recently been proposed by the Cancer of the Liver Italian Program (CLIP).CUP score was confirmed to be one of the best ways to stage patients with HCC. To our knowledge, however, the literature concerning the correlation between CLIP score and prognosis for patients with HCC after resection was not pubhshed. The aim of this study is to evaluate the recurrence and prognostic value of CLIP score for the patients with HCC after resection.METHODS: A retrospective survey was carried out in 174patients undergoing resection of HCC from January 1986 toJune 1998. Six patients who died in the hospital afteroperation and 11 patients with the recurrence of the diseasewere excluded at 1 month after hepatectomy. By the end ofJune 2001, 4 patients were lost and 153 patients with curativeresection have been followed up for at least three years.Among 153 patients, 115 developed intrahepatic recurrenceand 10 developed extrahepatic recurrence, whereas the other28 remained free of recurrence. Recurrences were classifiedinto early ( < / = 3 year) and late ( > 3 year) recurrence. TheCLIP score included the parameters involved in the Child-Pugh stage (0-2), plus macroscopic tumor morphology (0-2), AFP levels (0-1), and the presence or absence of portalthrombosis (0-1)o By contrast, portal vein thrombosis wasdefined as the presence of tumor emboli within vascularchannel analyzed by microscopic examination in this study.Risk factors for recurrence and prognostic factors forsurvival in each group were analyzed by the chi-square test,the Kaplan-Meier estimation and the COX proportionalhazards model respectively.RESULTS: The 1-, 3-, 5-, 7-, andl0-year disease-free survivalrates after curative resection of HCC were 57.2 %、 28.3 %、23.5 %、 18.8 % and 17.8 %, respectively. Median survivaltime was 28,16,10,4,and 5 mo for CLIP score 0,1,2,3, and 4to 5, respectively. Early and late recurrence developed in109 patients and 16 patients respectively. By the chi-squaretest, tumor size, micrusatsllite, venous invasion, tumortype (uninodular, muitinodular, massive), tumor extension( < / = or > 50 % of liver parenchyna replaced by tumor),TNM stage,CLIP score,and resection margin were the risk factors for early recurrence,whereas CLIP score and Child-Pugh stage were significant risk factors for late recurrence. in univariate survival analysis,Child-Pugh stages,resection margin,tumor size,microsatellite,venous invasion,tumor type,tumor extension,TNM stages,and CLIP score were associated with prognosis.The multivariale analysis by COX proportional hazards modes showed that the independent predictive factors of survival were resection margins and TNM stages. 15Effects of dietary Clostridium butyricum supplementation on growth performance,intestinal development,and immune response of weaned piglets challenged with lipopolysaccharide显示文摘Background: Weanling pigs, with immature immune system and physiological function, usually experience postweaning diarrhea. This study determined the effects of dietary Clostridium butyricum supplementation on growth performance, diarrhea, and immunity of weaned pigs challenged with lipopolysaccharide(LPS).Methods: In Experiment(Exp.) 1,144 weaned piglets were weaned at 21 d and randomly assigned to six groups,with six replicates per group and four pigs per replicate, receiving a control diet(CON) or diet supplemented with antibiotics(AB) or C. butyricum(CB)(0.1%, 0.2%, 0.4%, or 0.8%), respectively. All diets in Exp. 1 were a highly digestible basal diet, with 3,000 mg/kg zinc oxide supplied in the first 2 wk only. In Exp. 2, 180 piglets were weaned at 21 d and randomly assigned to five groups, with six replicates per group and six pigs per replicate, receiving CON, AB, or CB(0.2%, 0.4%, or 0.6%) diets. The digestibility of diets was lower than those in Exp. 1, and did not include zinc oxide. At 36 d of Exp. 2, 12 piglets were selected from each of the CON and 0.4% CB groups, six piglets were intraperitoneally injected with LPS(50 μg/kg body weight) and the other six piglets with normal saline;animals were killed at 4 h after injection to collect blood, intestine, and digesta samples for biochemical analysis.Results: In Exp. 1, CB and AB diets had no effect on growth performance of piglets. In Exp. 2, 0.4% CB decreased feed-gain ratio(P < 0.1), diarrhea score(P < 0.05), and increased duodenal, jejunal, and ileal villus height and jejunal villus height/crypt depth(P < 0.05). The 0.4% CB decreased the plasma tumor necrosis factor(TNF) α(P < 0.05) but increased ileal mucosa IL-10 and TLR2 mRNA expression(P < 0.05). Furthermore, 0.4% CB altered the microbial profile, with Bacillus and Ruminococcaceae UGG-003 at genus level and Lactobacillus casei and Parasutterella secunda at species level were higher than CON in colonic content(P < 0.05).Conclusions: Dietary C. butyricum supplementation had positive effects on growth of weaned piglets with less digestible diets. There was a tendency to reduce the feed-gain ratio, which could reduce feed costs in pig production. 19Tectonic dynamics and correlation of major earthquake sequences of the Xiaojiang and Qujiang-Shiping fault systems, Yunnan, China显示文摘The N-S trending Xiaojiang fault zone and the NW-SE trending Qujiang-Shiping fault zone are adjacent active fault systems and seismogenic zones associated with strong and major earthquakes in Yunnan, China. To understand the interaction of the two fault systems, and its probable influence on earthquake occurrences, this paper conducts a synthetic study based on data of active tectonics, historical earthquakes, relocated small earthquakes, GPS station velocities and focal mechanism resolutions. The study makes several conclusions. (1) The active southward motion of the western side of the Xiaojiang fault zone (i.e. the side of the Sichuan-Yunnan block) has a persistent and intensive effect on the Qujiang-Shiping fault zone. The later fault zone has absorbed and transformed the southward motion of the western side of the former fault zone through dextral strike-slip/shearing as well as transverse shortening/thrusting. (2) Along the Xiaojiang fault zone, the present sinistral strike-slip/shearing rate decreases from 10 and 8 mm/a on the northern, central and central-southern segments to 4 mm/a on the southern segment. The decreased rate has been adjusted in the area along and surrounding the Qujiang-Shiping fault zone through reverse-dextral faulting and distributed shearing and shortening. (3) The tectonic-dynamic relation between the Xiaojiang fault zone and the Qujiang-Shiping fault zone is also manifested by a close correlation of earthquake occurrences on the two fault zones. From 1500 to 1850 a sequence of strong and major earthquakes occurred along the Xiaojiang fault zone and its northern neighbor, the Zemuhe fault zone, which was characterized by gradually accelerating strain release, gradually shortening intervals between M≥7 events, and major releases occurring in the mid to later stages of the sequence. As a response to this sequence, after an 88-year delay, another sequence of 383 years (from 1588 to 1970) of strong and major earthquakes occurred on the Qujiang-Shiping fault zone, and had the same features in accelerating strain release and its temporal course.
