| 1 | A complete sequence and comparative analysis of a SARS-associated virus(Isolate BJ01)显示文摘The genome sequence of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-associated virus provides essential information for the identification of pathogen(s), exploration of etiology and evolution, interpretation of transmission and pathogenesis, development of diagnostics, prevention by future vaccination, and treatment by developing new drugs. We report the complete genome sequence and comparative analysis of an isolate (BJ01) of the coronavirus that has been recognized as a pathogen for SARS. The genome is 29725 nt in size and has 11 ORFs (Open Reading Frames). It is composed of a stable region encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (composed of 2 ORFs) and a variable region representing 4 CDSs (coding sequences) for viral structural genes (the S, E, M, N proteins) and 5 PUPs (putative uncharacterized proteins). Its gene order is identical to that of other known coronaviruses. The sequence alignment with all known RNA viruses places this virus as a member in the family of Coronaviridae. Thirty putative substitutions have been identified by comparative analysis of the 5 SARS- associated virus genome sequences in GenBank. Fifteen of them lead to possible amino acid changes (non-synonymous mutations) in the proteins. Three amino acid changes, with predicted alteration of physical and chemical features, have been detected in the S protein that is postulated to beinvolved in the immunoreactions between the virus and its host. Two amino acid changes have been detected in the Mprotein, which could be related to viral envelope formation. Phylogenetic analysis suggests the possibility of non-human origin of the SARS-associated viruses but provides noevidence that they are man-made. | 4 | Characteristics of volatile compounds removal in biogas slurry of pig manure by ozone oxidation and organic solvents extraction显示文摘Biogas slurry is not suitable for liquid fertilizer due to its high amounts of volatile materials being of complicated composition and peculiar smell. In order to remove volatiles from biogas slurry efficiently, the dynamic headspace and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry were used to clear the composition of volatiles. Nitrogen stripping and superfluous ozone were also used to remove volatiles from biogas slurry. The results showed that there were 21 kinds of volatile compounds in the biogas slurry, including sulfur compounds, organic amines, benzene, halogen generation of hydrocarbons and alkanes, some of which had strong peculiar smell. The volatile compounds in biogas slurry can be removed with the rate of 53.0% by nitrogen stripping and with rate of 81.7% by the oxidization and stripping of the superfluous ozone. On this basis, the removal rate of the volatile compounds reached 99.2% by chloroform and n-hexane extraction, and almost all of odor was eliminated. | 5 | A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. | 7 | Endoplasmic reticulum stress is involved in okadaic acid-induced tau phosphorylation and neurotoxic effects of okadaic acid显示文摘The role of the endoplasmic reticulum in Alzheimer's disease pathogenesis remains poorly understood. The present study investigated the correlation of okadaic acid-induced tau hyperphosphorylation and neurotoxicity with endoplasmic reticulum stress. Following co-culture of various concentrations of okadaic acid (25, 50, 100, and 200 nmol/L) and human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells, okadaic acid, a selective protein phosphatase (PP-1, PP-2A) inhibitor, reduced cell viability in a concentration-dependent manner, which was closely associated with okadaic acid-induced tau phosphorylation. In addition, expressions of the unfolded protein response activation marker glucose-regulated protein 78 (BiP/Grp78) and the CCAAT/enhancer binding protein homologous protein (CHOP)/Gadd153 increased following okadaic acid treatment. Furthermore, the unfolded protein response was activated in human embryonic kidney 293 (HEK 293) cells overexpressing tau following okadaic acid treatment, but untransfected HEK 293 cells did not exhibit activation of the unfolded protein response. The electrostriction properties under the electric field and the influence of hydrostatic pressure on the phase transition and the dielectric properties of these PLZST ceramics have been studied. Under the AC electric field, the strain of these two samples reached 0.21% and 0.13%, respectively. | 9 | Variation on leaching behavior of caustic compounds in bauxite residue during dealkalization process显示文摘Bauxite residue,a byproduct of alumina manufacture,is a serious environmental pollutant due to its high leaching contents of metals and caustic compounds.Four typical anions of CO3^2-,HCO3^-,Al(OH)4^- and OH-(represented caustic compounds) and metal ions(As,B,Mo and V) were selected to assess their leaching behavior under dealkalization process with different conditions including liquid/solid ratio(L/S ratio),temperature and leaching time.The results revealed that washing process could remove the soluble composition in bauxite residue effectively.The leaching concentrations of typical anions in bauxite residue decreased as follows:c(CO3^2-)> c(HCO3^-)> c[Al(OH)4-]> c(OH-).L/S ratio had a more significant effect on leaching behavior of OH-,whilst the leaching concentration of Al(OH)4-varied larger underleaching temperature and time treatment.Under the optimal leaching,the total alkaline,soluble Na concentrations,exchangeable Ca concentrations were 79.52,68.93,and 136.0 mmol/L,respectively,whilst the soluble and exchangeable content of As,B,Mo and V in bauxite residue changed slightly.However,it should be noted that water leaching has released metal ions such as As,B,Mo and V in bauxite residue to the surrounding environment.The semiquantitative analysis of XRD revealed that water leaching increased the content of gismondine from 2.4% to 6.4%.The SEM images demonstrated the dissolution of caustic compounds on bauxite residue surface.The correlation analysis indicated that CO3^2- and HCO3^- could effectively reflect the alkalinity of bauxite residue,and may be regarded as critical de alkalization indicators to evaluate alkalinity removal in bauxite residue. | Yujun Wu Meng Li Feng Zhu William Hartley Jiaxin Liao Wenhui An Shengguo Xue Jun Jiang | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,6: | 2 |
| 10 | Tunable Dynamic Black Phosphorus/Insulator/Si Heterojunction Direct-Current Generator Based on the Hot Electron Transport显示文摘Static heterojunction-based electronic devices have been widely applied because carrier dynamic processes between semiconductors can be designed through band gap engineering.Herein,we demonstrate a tunable direct-current generator based on the dynamic heterojunction,whose mechanism is based on breaking the symmetry of drift and diffusion currents and rebounding hot carrier transport in dynamic heterojunctions.Furthermore,the output voltage can be delicately adjusted and enhanced with the interface energy level engineering of inserting dielectric layers.Under the ultrahigh interface electric field,hot electrons will still transfer across the interface through the tunneling and hopping effect.In particular,the intrinsic anisotropy of black phosphorus arising from the lattice structure produces extraordinary electronic,transport,and mechanical properties exploited in our dynamic heterojunction generator.Herein,the voltage of 6.1 V,current density of 124.0 A/m^(2),power density of 201.0 W/m^(2),and energy-conversion efficiency of 31.4%have been achieved based on the dynamic black phosphorus/AlN/Si heterojunction,which can be used to directly and synchronously light up light-emitting diodes.This direct-current generator has the potential to convert ubiquitous mechanical energy into electric energy and is a promising candidate for novel portable and miniaturized power sources in the in situ energy acquisition field. | Yanghua Lu Sirui Feng Runjiang Shen Yujun Xu Zhenzhen Hao Yanfei Yan Haonan Zheng Xutao Yu Qiuyue Gao Panpan Zhang Shisheng Lin | 2019 | Research2019,,1: | 2 |

| 14 | Energy-Efficient Configuration of Power Resource for OFDM-Based Opportunistic Regenerative Relay Links显示文摘In this paper, adaptive Power allocation(PA) on the source and relay is investigated to maximize Energy efficiency(EE) for OFDM-based Opportunistic regenerative relay links(O2RL). We derive EE function from O2 RL model by appropriate definition of variables to represent source/relay PA, Subcarrier transmission mode selection(STMS), and circuit power consumptions elegantly.Theoretical analysis demonstrates that EE function for O2 RL is strictly quasi-concave with respect to the overall transmit power. Exploiting the quasi-concavity property of the EE function, an EE-oriented optimal PA iterative method for O2 RL is proposed which used the bisection method to speed up the search of the optimum. In these disorder systems of composite pervoskite structures, there appeared polar clusters or nanodomains.
