Effects of biochar on water movement characteristics in sandy soil under drip irrigation显示文摘Biochar addition can improve the physical and hydraulic characteristics of sandy soil. This study investigated the effects of biochar on water holding capacity and water movement in sandy soil under drip irrigation.By indoor simulation experiments, the effects of biochar application at five levels(0%,1%,2%,4%and 6%)on the soil water retention curve, infiltration characteristics of drip irrigation and water distribution were tested and analyzed. The results showed that biochar addition rate was positively correlated with water holding capacity of sandy soil and soil available water.Within the same infiltration time, with an increasing amount of added biochar, the diffusion distance of the horizontal wetting front(HWF)tended to decrease, while the infiltration distance of vertical wetting front(VWF)initially declined and then rose. The features of wetted bodies changed from'broad-shallow'to'narrow-deep'type.The relationship between the transport distances of HWF and VWF and the infiltration time was described by a power function. At the same distance from the point source, the larger the amount of added biochar, the higher the soil water content.Biochar had a great influence on the water content of the layer with biochar(0–200 mm)and had some effects at 200–250 mm without biochar;but it had less influence on the soil water content deeper than 250 mm.For the application rate of biochar of 4%,most water was retained within 0–250 mm soil layer. However, when biochar application amount was high(6%),it would be helpful for water infiltration.During the improvement of sandy soil, biochar application rate of 4%in the plow layer had the best effect.PU Shenghai LI Guangyong TANG Guangmu ZHANG Yunshu XU Wanli LIPan FENG Guangping DING Feng 2019Journal of Arid Land2019,11,5:6
Characterization and origin of charcoalified foxtail millet(Setaria italica) from the Chenyuan Site of the Western Zhou Dynasty in Shangluo, SE Shaanxi, China显示文摘In this paper, we discuss charcoalified foxtail millet grains dated to the middle to late Western Zhou Dynasty and collected from the Chenyuan archeological site in Shangluo, in China's southeastern Shaanxi Province. We assigned these specimens to the species Setaria italica based on the following characteristics: an obtuse chalazal apex with missing stigmatic remains; an undulant seed surface composed of rectangular cells with undulate anticlinal walls; an elongated and deeply depressed embryo extending to almost the full seed length; and spherical starch grains. We suggest that the spread of foxtail millet from its original northern distribution center to the southern slopes of the Qinling Mountains could be attributed to: its prominence across Zhou crop systems; the latter area's arid or subarid climate; and the migration south of Zhou people fleeing severe conflict between their nation and northern nomads.FENG GuangPing LU HuaYu ZHAO JianCheng YANG YaChang LI ChengSen ZHAO ZhiJun YUAN ShunQuan BAO Yan ZHONG Bei 2013科学通报2013,58,S1:2

Schistosomiasis Surveillance--China,2015−2018显示文摘Background The prevalence of schistosomiasis in China is at the lowest level in history, and sentinel surveillance sites of schistosomiasis have fully covered all epidemic areas of China. This article has analyzed the surveillance data for the last four years and can help guide the next stage of surveillance work at the national level, including the scope of surveillance, surveillance content, and surveillance methods, etc. Methods Data from the National Schistosomiasis Surveillance System were collected. The infection rate of schistosomiasis among the human population, livestock, snails, and the change of the breeding area of snails in sentinel surveillance sites for four consecutive years were analyzed, and the trends in schistosomiasis prevalence in surveillance sites were determined. Results The prevalence of schistosomiasis in all sentinel surveillance sites of China showed downward trends from 2015 to 2018 with infection rates decreasing in this time period for local human population(0.05%to 0.00%),the floating population(0.020% to 0.003%),and cattle(0.037% to 0.000%).No infected snails were found during the period. From 2015 to 2018,the total area of newly found habitats of snails(Oncomelania hupensis,O.hupensis)were 34,730 m^(2),1,367,694 m^(2),18,944 m^(2),and 50,420 m^(2),and the total area of re-emergent habitats of snails(O.hupensis)were 822,194 m^(2),1,391,779 m^(2),1,516,292 m^(2),and 1,750,558 m^(2),respectively.Conclusions and Implications for Public Health Practice The prevalence of schistosomiasis in human and livestock is going down and is sustained at a very low level, but new and re-emerging habitats of O.hupensis are new challenges regardless of the achievement of schistosomiasis control. Therefore, two actions are necessary to effectively further reduce the transmission risk of schistosomiasis:1)taking effective measures to control the source of infection of schistosomiasis;and 2)reducing the breeding areas of O.hupensis.Yinlong Li Hui Dang Lijuan Zhang Guangping Li Xiaowei Shan Min Yuan Songjun Ding Yun Feng Meifen Shen Jia Xu Yanjun Jin Haijuan Du Wencheng Lu Wenqian Tang Dianwei Jiang Yi Yuan Shan Lyu Shizhu Li Xiao-nong Zhou 2020China CDC weekly2020,2,3:0
Regulation effects of water and nitrogen on yield, water, and nitrogen use efficiency of wolfberry显示文摘Wolfberry(Lycium barbarum L.)is important for health care and ecological protection. However,it faces problems of low productivity and resource utilization during planting.Exploring reasonable models for water and nitrogen management is important for solving these problems.Based on field trials in 2021 and 2022,this study analyzed the effects of controlling soil water and nitrogen application levels on wolfberry height, stem diameter, crown width, yield, and water(WUE)and nitrogen use efficiency(NUE).The upper and lower limits of soil water were controlled by the percentage of soil water content to field water capacity(θ_(f)),and four water levels,i.e.,adequate irrigation(W0,75%-85%θ_(f)),mild water deficit(W1,65%-75%θ_(f)),moderate water deficit(W2,55%-65%θ_(f)),and severe water deficit(W3,45%-55%θ_(f))were used, and three nitrogen application levels,i.e.,no nitrogen(N0,0 kg/hm^(2)),low nitrogen(N1,150 kg/hm^(2)),medium nitrogen(N2,300 kg/hm^(2)),and high nitrogen(N3,450 kg/hm^(2))were implied. The results showed that irrigation and nitrogen application significantly affected plant height, stem diameter, and crown width of wolfberry at different growth stages(P<0.01),and their maximum values were observed in W1N2,W0N2,and W1N3 treatments.Dry weight per plant and yield of wolfberry first increased and then decreased with increasing nitrogen application under the same water treatment.Dry weight per hundred grains and dry weight percentage increased with increasing nitrogen application under W0 treatment. However, under other water treatments, the values first increased and then decreased with increasing nitrogen application.Yield and its component of wolfberry first increased and then decreased as water deficit increased under the same nitrogen treatment.Irrigation water use efficiency(IWUE,8.46 kg/(hm^(2)·mm)),WUE(6.83 kg/(hm^(2)·mm)),partial factor productivity of nitrogen(PFPN,2.56 kg/kg),and NUE(14.29 kg/kg)reached their highest values in W2N2,W1N2,W1N2,and W1N1 treatments. Results of principal component analysis(PCA)showed that yield,WUE,and NUE were better in W1N2 treatment, making it a suitable water and nitrogen management mode for the irrigation area of the Yellow River in the Gansu Province,China and similar planting areas.GAO Yalin QI Guangping MA Yanlin YIN Minhua WANG Jinghai WANG Chen TIAN Rongrong XIAO Feng LU Qiang WANG Jianjun 2024Journal of Arid Land2024,16,1:0
Classification and applied uses of Bryaceae sensu lato(Musci) in China显示文摘The Bryaceae is a large, cosmopolitan, taxonomically difficult moss family. Recent studies based on molecular data alone or in combination with morphological data have greatly changed the understanding of phylogenetic relationships in the Bryaceae s.l. and indicate that the Bryaceae is not monophyletic. Based on phylogenetic analyses of sequence data for four cpDNA regions and morphological data, we revise the traditional Bryaceae in China and transfer six genera to other families. The Mielichhoferiaceae was redefined previously by Hill et al. based on the presence of much-branched stems, apparently lateral gametangia, Pohlia-like leaves, and a more-or-less reduced peristome. Five genera of Mielichhoferiaceae are present in China: Mielichhoferia(four species), Pohlia(27 species, two varieties), Pseudopohlia(one species), Epipterygium(two species), and Synthetodontium(one species). The genera Orthodontium and Leptobryum are transferred from the Bryaceae s.l. to Orthodontiaceae and Meesiaceae, respectively. Members of the recircumscribed Bryaceae belong to five genera: Anomobryum(five species), Brachymenium(14 species), Bryum(54 species, two varieties), Plagiobryum(three species), and Rhodobryum(four species). Bryaceae diversity is high in China. The species have potential uses in medicine, landscaping, environmental protection, and other fields. Rhodobryum roseum(Hedw.) Limpr., Bryum argenteum Hedw., and Rhodobryum giganteum(Schw gr.) Paris have long been used to cure cardiovascular disease in China. Some bioactive compounds will be leading compounds for the future design of novel drugs. In recent years, many species of Bryaceae have been used for landscaping. Bryum spp. are the dominant biotic species in biological soil crusts, which serve important ecological protective functions.ZHAO JianCheng LIU YongYing CAO Zhen FENG GuangPing NIU YuLu 2013科学通报2013,58,S1:0
Gelatin filter capture-based high-throughput sequencing analysis of microbial diversity in haze particulate matter显示文摘Airborne particulate matter(PM),especially PM2.5,can be easily adsorbed by human respiratory system.Their roles in carrying pathogens for spreading epidemic diseases has attracted great concern.Herein,we developed a novel gelatin filter-based and culture-independent method for investigation of the microbial diversity in PM samples during a haze episode in Tianjin,China. This method involves particle capture by gelatin filters, filter dissolution for DNA extraction, and high-throughput sequencing for analysis of the microbial diversity.A total of 584 operational taxonomic units(OTUs)of bacteria and 370 OTUs of fungi at the genus level were identified during hazy days. The results showed that both bacterial and fungal diversities could be evaluated by this method. This study provides a convenient strategy for investigation of microbial biodiversity in haze, facilitating accurate evaluation of airborne epidemic diseases.Meiqing Sun Zhanlin Ding Hong Wang Guangping Yu Zhe Feng Bingzhi Li Penghui Li 2019The Journal of Biomedical Research2019,33,6:0
