| 1 | Constructing a high-density linkage map for Gossypium hirsutum × Gossypium barbadense and identifying QTLs for lint percentage显示文摘To introgress the good fiber quality and yield from Gossypium barbadense into a commercial Upland cotton variety, a high-density simple sequence repeat(SSR) genetic linkage map was developed from a BC1F1 population of Gossypium hirsutum×Gossypium barbadense. The map comprised 2,292 loci and covered 5115.16 centi Morgan(c M) of the cotton AD genome, with an average marker interval of 2.23 c M. Of the marker order for 1,577 common loci on this new map, 90.36% agrees well with the marker order on the D genome sequence genetic map. Compared with five published high-density SSR genetic maps, 53.14% of marker loci were newly discovered in this map. Twenty-six quantitative trait loci(QTLs) for lint percentage(LP) were identified on nine chromosomes. Nine stable or common QTLs could be used for marker-assisted selection. Fifty percent of the QTLs were from G. barbadense and increased LP by 1.07%–2.41%. | 16 | Selection of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes According to Both Their Diameter and Chirality via Nanotweezers显示文摘Diameter- and chirality-dependent interactions between aromatic molecule-based nanotweezers and single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) are revealed by density functional theory calculations. We found that the threshold diameter of selected SWNTs is determined by the end-to-end distance of the nanotweezer. Large-diameter SWNTs are preferred by a nanotweezer with an obtuse folding angle, whereas small-diameter SWNTs are favored by a nanotweezer with an acute folding angle. The adsorption can be further stabilized by the orientational alignment of the hexagonal rings of the nanotweezer and the SWNT sidewall. | 17 | Dynamic changes of nutrient content in herbaceous peony seed显示文摘Herbaceous peony is a promising oilseed crop.‘Hangshao’and‘Fenghuang Niepan’are two cultivars with high yield and oil content In this study,seed reserved nutrient of these two genotypes were investigated during seed development process.Results showed that‘Hangshao’and‘Fenghuang Niepan’matured approximately 85 d after flowering(DAF).The development p rocess could be divided into four stages:seed formation and enlargement stage(S1),seed inclusion and enrichment stage(S2),crude fat rapid accumulation stage(S3)and dehydration and color transition stage(S4).During this process,100-seed fresh weight(HFW)and 100-seed dry weight(HDW)increased,whereas water content(WC)decreased.HFW,HDW and WC for‘Hangshao’seed at 85 DAF were28.56 g,20.78 g and 37.50%respectively,whereas those for‘Fenghuang Niepan’seed were 27.2 g,19.78 g,and30.85%respectively.In terms of the primary metabolites measuring,soluble protein content was consistently low(only 2.24%-3.15%),while starch content was relatively high(5.60%-24.81%).They displayed a trend of gradual increasing in early stage,followed by rapid decline.Crude fat tended to accumulate continuously with a linear upward trend starting at 40 DAF,and its maximum level was reached at 85 DAF(27.57%for‘Hangshao’and29.57%for‘Fenghuang Niepan’).For the secondary metabolites determination,total phenols content was relatively steady,maintaining at 107.7-129.9 mg/g for both cultivars,while total flavonoids content varied within25.33-65.33 mg/g for‘Hangshao’and 24.33-52.37 mg/g for Tenghuang Niepan’.The maximum level for both cultivars occurred at 55 DAF.Furthermore,crude fat content was found to be highly correlated with WC by correlation analysis and linear regression model definition(P≤0.01 and r=0.954).Thus,WC was recommended for evaluating crude fat in peony seed.These findings could provide scientific reference for high-yielding production practice for oleaginous peony plant. | Qimo Qi Yu Li Fanzhi Meng Guangping Xing Jilei Zhou Xianfeng Guo | 2020 | Oil Crop Science2020,5,2: | 0 |
| 18 | Red blood cell distribution width improves the prediction of 28-daymortality for patients with sepsis-induced acute kidney injury:A retrospective analysis from MIMIC-IV database usingpropensity score matching显示文摘Background:The predictive value of red blood cell distribution width(RDW)for mortality in patients withsepsis-induced acute kidney injury(SI-AKI)remains unclear.The present study aimed to investigate the potentialassociation between RDW at admission and outcomes in patients with SI-AKI.Methods:The Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care(MIMIC)-IV(version 2.0)database,released in Juneof 2022,provides medical data of SI-AKI patients to conduct our related research.Based on propensity scorematching(PSM)method,the main risk factors associated with mortality in SI-AKI were evaluated using Coxproportional hazards regression analysis to construct a predictive nomogram.The concordance index(C-index)and decision curve analysis were used to validate the predictive ability and clinical utility of this model.Patientswith SI-AKI were classified into the high-and low-RDW groups according to the best cut-off value obtained bycalculating the maximum value of the Youden index.Results:A total of 7574 patients with SI-AKI were identified according to the filter criteria.Compared withthe low-RDW group,the high-RDW group had higher 28-day(9.49%vs.31.40%,respectively,P<0.001)and7-day(3.96%vs.13.93%,respectively,P<0.001)mortality rates.Patients in the high-RDW group were moreprone to AKI progression than those in the low-RDW group(20.80%vs.13.60%,respectively,P<0.001).Basedon matched patients,we developed a nomogram model that included age,white blood cells,RDW,combinedhypertension and presence of a malignant tumor,treatment with vasopressor,dialysis,and invasive ventilation,sequential organ failure assessment,and AKI stages.The C-index for predicting the probability of 28-day survivalwas 0.799.Decision curve analysis revealed that the model with RDW offered greater net benefit than that withoutRDW.Conclusion:The present findings demonstrated the importance of RDW,which improved the predictive ability ofthe nomogram model for the probability of survival in patients with SI-AKI. | Honghao Lai Guosheng Wu Yu Zhong Guangping Chen Wei Zhang Shengjun Shi Zhaofan Xia | 2023 | Journal of Intensive Medicine2023,3,3: | 0 |

| 20 | Regulation of osteoblast functions on titanium surfaces with different micro/nanotopographies and compositions显示文摘Surface modification of medical implants is considered as an effective method to improve cellular behaviors and the integration of tissues with materials. Titanium(Ti)-based materials with four different micro/nano-structures and compositions were prepared by acid etching, electrochemical anodization and alkali-heat treatment. The surface morphologies and compositions of the different surface-modified Ti materials were characterized by field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM),atomic force microscopy(AFM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD). The effects of the micro/nano structured and compositions of the surfaces on cellular responses were investigated in vitro by observing the morphology, adhesion, proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of osteoblasts. To further investigate the underlying mechanisms, an RT-PCR assay was performed to analyze the expression levels of cell adhesion-related genes. Our results indicated that the nanosized structure and anatase composition could promote the adhesion and proliferation of MC3T3-E1 pre-osteoblast, as well as alkaline phosphatase activity and extracellular matrix mineralization via the integrin-FAK signaling pathway.
