| 2 | Fat deposition deficiency is critical for the high mortality of pre-weanling newborn piglets显示文摘Background: The high mortality of pre-weanling piglets is a dominant challenge which severely restricts the development of pig industry. A number of factors including nutrients imbalance and temperature variation during postnatal period of piglets have been reported to closely associated with the high mortality of postnatal piglets.This study aims to find out the relationship between fat deposition and survival of newborn piglets.Results: There were no differences in organ coefficient and bone density between the surviving and dead piglets(P > 0.05). The body weight and the fat deposition in the dead piglets were lower than the live individuals(P < 0.05).Consistently, the average sizes of white adipocytes in back and abdominal adipose tissues of dead piglets were smaller than the survivals(P < 0.05). The protein expression levels of adipocyte differentiation markers PPARγ and C/EBPα in the back and abdominal adipose tissues were lower in dead piglets compared to live piglets. The mRNA expressions of thermogenic markers PGC1α and PRDM16 in adipose tissues were decreased in the dead piglets(P < 0.05). The microarray of back fat samples from the surviving and dead piglets were conducted; two down-regulated genes namely AAMDC and CASTOR1 were identified from the dead piglets. According to quantitative real-time PCR(RT-PCR) analysis, the mRNA expression of AAMDC decreased, whereas CASTOR1 expression elevated in the dead piglets compared to the surviving piglets(P < 0.05).Conclusions: The fat deposition and adipocyte differentiation in the dead piglets are insufficient compared to the surviving piglets, which may attenuate the thermogenic ability of white adipose tissue(WAT). | 10 | Changes in corneal curvature and aberrations after cataract surgery显示文摘Background:Surgically induced astigmatism(SIA)and corneal high-order aberrations(HOAs)are the two main causes of poor visual quality after cataract surgery.Changes in the parameters of corneal HOAs after cataract surgery and their effects on and relationships with changes in corneal curvature have not yet been reported.This study aimed to explore changes in anterior,posterior and total corneal curvature,astigmatism and HOAs after microincision cataract surgery.Methods:Sixty-one age-related cataract patients(61 eyes)were included in this prospective study.The total,anterior and posterior corneal astigmatism and corneal HOAs were analyzed by anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT)and iTrace before,one day,one week and three months after 2.2 mm temporal microincision coaxial phacoemulsification to evaluate the changes in anterior,posterior and total corneal curvature,astigmatism and corneal HOAs.Results:The mean J0 and J45 values of anterior,posterior and total corneal curvature obtained by ASOCT showed no statistically significant difference between preoperatively and any postoperative followup.SIA occurred on the anterior,posterior and total corneal surfaces and showed no statistically significant difference at any postoperative follow-up.No significant changes in 3rd-order oblique trefoil,vertical coma or 4th-order spherical aberrations were observed after surgery except for a significant increase in horizontal coma at postoperative day 1(POD1).Conclusions:There were no significant changes in corneal curvature after 2.2 mm temporal microincision coaxial phacoemulsification,and the corneal HOAs were not changed significantly except for the increase in horizontal coma at POD1,which may be one of the main reasons of poor visual quality at POD1 in some cataract patients who have good uncorrected or corrected distance vision. | Ye Dai Xiaoting Ruan Wei Wang Xiaoyun Chen Guangming Jin Lanhua Wang Xiaoxun Gu Bo Qu Jianping Liu Xuhua Tan Enen Zhang Jun Fu Lixia Luo Zhenzhen Liu Yizhi Liu | 2022 | Annals of Eye Science2022,,3: | 0 |
| 11 | A nano fiber–gel composite electrolyte with high Li^(+) transference number for application in quasi-solid batteries显示文摘As their Liþtransference number(tLiþ),ionic conductivity,and safety are all high,polymer electrolytes play a vital role in overcoming uncontrollable lithium dendrites and low energy density in Li metal batteries(LMBs).We therefore synthesized a three-dimensional(3D)semi-interpenetrating network-based single-ion-conducting fiber–gel composite polymer electrolyte(FGCPE)via an electrospinning,initiation,and in situ polymerization method.The FGCPE provides high ionic conductivity(1.36 mS cm^(-1)),high t_(Li+)(0.92),and a high electrochemical stability window(up to 4.84 V).More importantly,the aromatic heterocyclic structure of the biphenyl in the nanofiber membrane promotes the carbonization of the system(the limiting oxygen index value of the nanofiber membrane reaches 41%),giving it certain flame-retardant properties and solving the source-material safety issue.Due to the in situ method,the observable physical interface between electrodes and electrolytes is virtually eliminated,yielding a compact whole that facilitates rapid kinetic reactions in the cell.More excitingly,the LFP/FGCPE/Li cell displays outstanding cycling stability,with a capacity retention of 91.6%for 500 cycles even at 10C.We also test the FGCPE in high-voltage NMC532/FGCPE/Li cells and pouch cells.This newly designed FGCPE exhibits superior potential and feasibility for promoting the development of LMBs with high energy density and safety. | Lin Wang Shugang Xu Zhe Wang Enen Yang Wanyuan Jiang Shouhai Zhang Xigao Jian Fangyuan Hu | 2023 | eScience2023,3,2: | 0 |
