1Source and deposition of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons to Shanghai,China显示文摘Despite recent efforts to investigate the distribution and fate of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in air, water, and soil, very little is known about their temporal change in wet deposition. As a result of increased attention to public health, a large-scale survey on the deposition flux and distribution of PAH contamination in rainwater was urgently conducted in Shanghai, China. In this study, 163 rainwater samples were collected from six sites, and 15 PAH compounds were detected by the use of a simple solid phase microextraction (SPME) technique coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The dominant PAH species monitored were naphthalene, phenanthrene, anthracene, and fluoranthene. The concentration of total PAHs per event was between 74 and 980 ng/L, with an average value of 481 ng/L, which is at the high end of worldwide figures. The annual deposition flux of PAHs in rainwater was estimated to be 4148 kg/yr in the Shanghai area, suggesting rainfall as a major possible pathway for removing PAHs from the atmosphere. Diagnostic analysis by the ratios of An/178 and Fl/Fl+Py suggested that combustion of grass, wood, and coal was the major contributor to PAHs in the Shanghai region. 6Establishment of Real-Time Quantitative PCR Method for the Determination of Transposon Copy Number in Cronobacter sakazakii显示文摘[Objective] This study aimed to establish a Real-Time quantitative PCR method for the determination of transposon copy number in C.sakazakii.[Method] With single-copy housekeeping gene atpD as the reference gene,recombinant plasmid containing both single-copy housekeeping gene atpD and EZ-TN5 transposon was constructed;based on the established standard curves for real-time quantitative detection of atpD gene and EZ-TN5 transposon,copy number of atpD gene and EZ-TN5 transposon in three C.sakazakii mutants was detected and the ratio was calculated.[Result] Correlation coefficients of the standard curves for real-time quantitative detection of atpD gene and EZ-TN5 transposon were 0.999 and 0.998,respectively;the ratios of copy number of atpD gene and EZ-TN5 transposon in three C.sakazakii mutants were 0.98,1.17 and 0.91,respectively,which indicates that EZ-TN5 transposon in C.sakazakii mutants is a single-copy.[Conclusion] Real-time quantitative PCR method established in this study had high availability and could replace the Southern blot method to detect the copy number of EZ-TN5 transposon in different bacteria.Fei WANG Xinjun DU Rong ZHANG Guixiang XU Shuo WANG 2012Agricultural Biotechnology2012,1,1:0
7An optimal medicinal and edible Chinese herbal formula attenuates particulate matter-induced lung injury through its anti-oxidative,anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptosis activities显示文摘Objective:Identifying novel strategies to prevent particulate matter(PM)-induced lung injury is crucial for the reduction of the morbidity of chronic respiratory diseases.The combined intervention represented by herbal formulae for simultaneously targeting multiple pathological processes can provide a more beneficial effect than the single intervention.The aim of this paper is therefore to design a safe and effective medicinal and edible Chinese herbs(MECHs)formula against PM-induced lung injury.Methods:PM-induced oxidative stress,inflammatory response and apoptosis A549 cell model were used to screen anti-oxidant,anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic MECHs,respectively.A network pharmacology method was utilized to rationally design a novel herbal formula.Ultra performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometer was utilized to assess the quality control of MECHs formula.The excretion of magnetic iron oxide nanospheres of the MECHs formula was estimated in zebrafish.The MECH formula against PM-induced lung injury was investigated with mice experiments.Results:Five selected herbs were rationally designed to form a new MECH formula,including Citri Exocarpium Rubrum(Juhong),Lablab Semen Album(Baibiandou),Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma(Baizhu),Mori Folium(Sangye)and Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma(Yuzhu).The formula effectively promoted the magnetic iron oxide nanospheres excretion in zebrafish.The mid/high dose formula significantly prevented PM-induced lung damage in mice by enhancing the activity of SOD and GSH-Px,reducing the MDA and ROS level and attenuating the upregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokine(IL-6,IL-8,IL-1βand TNFa),down regulating the protein expression of NF-κB,STAT3 and Caspase-3.Conclusion:Our findings suggest that the effective MECHs formula will become a novel strategy for preventing PM-induced lung injury and provide a paradigm for the development of functional foods using MECHs.Huan Zhang Jun Kang Wuyan Guo Fujie Wang Mengjiao Guo Shanshan Feng Wuai Zhou Jinnan Li Ayesha T.Tahir Shaoshan Wang Xinjun Du Hui Zhao Weihua Wang Hong Zhu Bo Zhang 2023Chinese Herbal Medicines2023,15,3:0
8The Mars orbiter magnetometer of Tianwen-1:in-flight performance and first science results显示文摘The Mars Orbiter MAGnetometer(MOMAG)is a scientific instrument onboard the orbiter of China’s first mission for Mars—Tianwen-1.Since November 13,2021,it has been recording magnetic field data from the solar wind to the magnetic pile-up region surrounding Mars.Here we present its in-flight performance and first science results,based on its first one and one-half months’data.Comparing these early MOMAG observations to the magnetic field data in the solar wind from NASA’s Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN(MAVEN)mission,we report that the MOMAG magnetic field data are at the same level in magnitude,and describe the same magnetic structures with similar variations in three components.We recognize 158 clear bow shock(BS)crossings in these MOMAG data;their locations match well statistically with the modeled average BS.We also identify and compare five pairs of datasets collected when Tianwen-1’s orbiter and the MAVEN probe made simultaneous BS crossings.These BS crossings confirm the global shape of modeled BS,as well as the south-north asymmetry of the Martian BS.Two cases presented in this paper suggest that the BS is probably more dynamic at flank than near the nose.So far,MOMAG performs well,and provides accurate magnetic field vectors.MOMAG is continuously scanning the magnetic field surrounding Mars.Data from MOMAG’s measurements complement data from MAVEN and will undoubt edly advance our understanding of the plasma environment of Mars.YuMing Wang TieLong Zhang GuoQiang Wang SuDong Xiao ZhuXuan Zou Long Cheng ZongHao Pan Kai Liu XinJun Hao YiRen Li ManMing Chen ZhouBin Zhang Wei Yan ZhenPeng Su ZhiYong Wu ChengLong Shen YuTian Chi MengJiao Xu JingNan Guo Yang Du 2023Earth and Planetary Physics2023,7,2:0
