| 4 | Trends in cancer mortality in China from 2004 to 2018:A nationwide longitudinal study显示文摘Background:The long-term trend in cancer death in a rapidly developing country provides information for cancer prophylaxis.Here,we aimed to identify the trends in cancer mortality in China during the 2004-2018 period.Methods:Using raw data from the national mortality surveillance system of China,we assessed the mortalities of all cancer and site-specific cancers during the 2004-2018 period.The participants were divided into three age groups:≥65 years,40-64 years,and≤39 years.Changing trends in cancer death by gender,residency,and tumor location were estimated using fitting joinpoint models to log-transformed crude mortality rates(CMRs)and age-standardizedmortality rates(ASMRs).Results:Cancer death accounted for 24% of all-cause of death in China during 2014-2018.The CMR of all cancer was 150.0 per 100,000 persons.Cancer was the leading cause of death in the population<65 years.The six major cancer types(lung/bronchus cancer,liver cancer,stomach cancer,esophagus cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreas cancer)accounted for 75.85% of all cancer deaths.The CMR of all cancer increased while the ASMR decreased during 2014-2018(P<0.001).Lung/bronchus cancer and liver cancer were the leading causes of cancer death in the population<65 years,accounting for 45.31%(CMR)and 44.35%(ASMR)of all cancer death,respectively.The ASMR of liver cancer was higher in the 40-64 years population than in the≥65 years population,in contrast to the other five major cancers.The ASMRs of liver cancer,stomach cancer,and esophagus cancer decreased although they were higher in rural residents than in urban residents;the ASMRs of lung/bronchus cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreas cancer increased in rural residents although they were higher in urban residents than in rural residents during 2014-2018.Conclusion:Although the ASMR of all cancer decreased in China during 2004-2018,lung/bronchus cancer and liver cancer remained the leading causes of cancer-related premature death.Lung/bronchus cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreas cancer increased in rural residents. | Dongming Jiang Lijuan Zhang Wenbin Liu Yibo Ding Jianhua Yin Rongbing Ren Qi Li Yifan Chen Jiaying Shen Xiaojie Tan Hongwei Zhang Guangwen Cao | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,10: | 23 |
| 5 | Deformation mechanism of roadways in deep soft rock at Hegang Xing’an Coal Mine显示文摘Engineering geomechanics characteristics of roadways in deep soft rock at Hegang Xing'an Coal Mine were studied and the nature of clay minerals of roadway surrounding rock was analyzed. This paper is to solve the technical problems of high stress and the difficulty in supporting the coal mine, and provide a rule for the support design. Results show that mechanical deformation mechanisms of deep soft rock roadway at Xing'an Coal Mine is of ⅠABⅡABCⅢABCD type, consisting of molecular water absorption (the ⅠAB -type), the tectonic stress type + gravity deformation type + hydraulic type (the ⅡABC -type), and the ⅢABCD -type with fault, weak intercalation and bedding formation. According to the compound mechanical deformation mechanisms, the corresponding mechanical control measures and conversion technologies were proposed, and these technologies have been successfully applied in roadway supporting practice in deep soft rock at Xing'an Coal Mine with good effect. Xing'an Coal Mine has the deepest burial depth in China, with its overburden ranging from Mesozoic Jurassic coal-forming to now. | 9 | Deep learning based classification of rock structure of tunnel face显示文摘The automated interpretation of rock structure can improve the efficiency,accuracy,and consistency of the geological risk assessment of tunnel face.Because of the high uncertainties in the geological images as a result of different regional rock types,as well as in-situ conditions(e.g.,temperature,humidity,and construction procedure),previous automated methods have limited performance in classification of rock structure of tunnel face during construction.This paper presents a framework for classifying multiple rock structures based on the geological images of tunnel face using convolutional neural networks(CNN),namely Inception-ResNet-V2(IRV2).A prototype recognition system is implemented to classify 5 types of rock structures including mosaic,granular,layered,block,and fragmentation structures.The proposed IRV2 network is trained by over 35,000 out of 42,400 images extracted from over 150 sections of tunnel faces and tested by the remaining 7400 images.Furthermore,different hyperparameters of the CNN model are introduced to optimize the most efficient algorithm parameter.Among all the discussed models,i.e.,ResNet-50,ResNet-101,and Inception-v4,Inception-ResNet-V2 exhibits the best performance in terms of various indicators,such as precision,recall,F-score,and testing time per image.Meanwhile,the model trained by a large database can obtain the object features more comprehensively,leading to higher accuracy.Compared with the original image classification method,the sub-image method is closer to the reality considering both the accuracy and the perspective of error divergence.The experimental results reveal that the proposed method is optimal and efficient for automated classification of rock structure using the geological images of the tunnel face. | Jiayao Chen Tongjun Yang Dongming Zhang Hongwei Huang Yu Tian | 2021 | Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,1: | 13 |
| 10 | Dynamic characteristics of an intestine capsule robot with variable diameter显示文摘This paper proposes an intestine capsule robot with variable diameter. It is driven by external rotating magnetic field and has the function of automatic radial clearance compensation. An external magnetic field generating device and a capsule robot with variable diameter are developed. Radial dynamic balance equation and kinematics equation of the capsule robot traveling inside flexible elasto-wall environment are established, and dynamic characteristics of the capsule robot inside flexible elasto-wall pipe and rigid wall pipe environments are analyzed and compared. Simulations and experiment results show that its dynamic characteristics in both pipes are almost the same. Under the action of radial clearance compensation, fluid dynamic pressure around outer surface of the capsule robot and its propulsion, as well as its adaptability to diameter change range, are significantly improved. Its propulsion and moving speed are controlled by adjusting rotating angular speed of the rotating magnetic field. | 12 | Failure mechanism and control technology of water-immersed roadway in high-stress and soft rock in a deep mine显示文摘Aiming at soft rock ground support issues under conditions of high stress and long-term water immersion, the ground failure mechanism is revealed by taking the deep-water sumps of Jiulong Mine as the engineering background and employing field investigation, tests of rock structure, mechanical properties and mineral composition. The main factors leading to the surrounding rock failure include the high and complex stress state of the water sumps, high-clay content and water-weakened rock, and the unreasonable support design. In this paper, the broken and fractured rock mass near roadway opening is considered as ground small-structure, and deep stable rock mass as ground large-structure. A support technology focusing on cutting off the water, strengthening the small structure of the rock and transferring the large structure of the rock is proposed. The proposed support technology of interconnecting the large and small structures, based on high-strength bolts, high-stiffness shotcrete layer plugging water,strengthening the small structure with deep-hole grouting and shallow-hole grouting, highpretensioned cables tensioned twice to make the large and small structures bearing the pressure evenly,channel-steel and high-pretensioned cables are used to control floor heave. | 13 | Reservoir reconstruction technologies for coalbed methane recovery in deep and multiple seams显示文摘Multiple coal seams widely develop in the deep Chinese coal-bearing strata. Ground in situ stress and coal seam gas pressure increase continuously with the increase of the mining depth, and coal and gas outburst disasters become increasingly severe. When the coal is very deep, the gas content and pressure will elevate and thus coal seams tends to outburst-prone seams. The safety and economics of exploited firstmined coal seams are tremendously restricted. Meanwhile, the multiple seams occurrence conditions resulted in different methane pressure systems in the coal-bearing strata, which made the reservoir reconstruction of coal difficult. Given the characteristics of low saturation, low permeability, strong anisotropy and soft coal of Chinese coal seams, a single hydraulic fracturing surface well for reservoir reconstruction to pre-drain the coalbed methane(CBM) of multiple seams concurrently under the different gas pressure systems has not yet gained any breakthroughs. Based on analyses of the main features of deep CBM reservoirs in China, current gas control methods and the existing challenges in deep and multiple seams, we proposed a new technology for deep CBM reservoir reconstruction to realize simultaneous high-efficiency coal mining and gas extraction. In particular, we determined the first-mined seam according to the principles of effectiveness and economics, and used hydraulic fracturing surface well to reconstruct the first-mined seam which enlarges the selection range of the first-mined seam. During the process of mining first-mined seam, adjacent coal seams could be reconstructed under the mining effect which promoted high-efficiency pressure relief gas extraction by using spatial and comprehensive gas drainage methods(combination of underground and ground CBM extraction methods). A typical integrated reservoir reconstruction technology, ‘‘One well for triple use', was detailed introduced and successfully applied in the Luling coal mine. | 15 | Diagnostic value of 5 serum biomarkers for hepatocellular carcinoma with different epidemiological backgrounds:A large-scale,retrospective study显示文摘Objective:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a lethal global disease that requires an accurate diagnosis.We assessed the potential of 5 serum biomarkers(AFP,AFU,GGT-II,GPC3,and HGF)in the diagnosis of HCC.Methods:In this retrospective study,we measured the serum levels of each biomarker using ELISAs in 921 participants,including 298 patients with HCC,154 patients with chronic hepatitis(CH),122 patients with liver cirrhosis(LC),and 347 healthy controls from 3 hospitals.Patients negative for hepatitis B surface antigen and hepatitis C antibody(called'NBNC-HCC')and patients positive for the above indices(called'HBV-HCC and HCV-HCC')were enrolled.The selected diagnostic model was constructed using a training cohort(n=468),and a validation cohort(n=453)was used to validate our results.Receiver operating characteristic analysis was used to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy.Results:Theα-L-fucosidase(AFU)/α-fetoprotein(AFP)combination was best able to distinguish NBNC-HCC[area under the curve:0.986(95%confidence interval:0.958–0.997),sensitivity:92.6%,specificity:98.9%]from healthy controls in the test cohort.For screening populations at risk of developing HCC(CH and LC),the AFP/AFU combination improved the diagnostic specificity for early-stage HCC[area under the curve:0.776(0.712–0.831),sensitivity:52.5%,specificity:91.6%in the test group].In all-stage HBV-HCC and HCV-HCC,AFU was also the best candidate biomarker combined with AFP[area under the curve:0.835(0.784–0.877),sensitivity 69.1%,specificity:87.4%in the test group].All results were verified in the validation group.Conclusions:The AFP/AFU combination could be used to identify NBNC-HCC from healthy controls and hepatitis-related HCC from at-risk patients. | Dongming Liu Yi Luo Lu Chen Liwei Chen Duo Zuo Yueguo Li Xiaofang Zhang Jing Wu Qing Xi Guangtao Li Lisha Qi Xiaofen Yue Xiehua Zhang Zhuoyu Sun Ning Zhang Tianqiang Song Wei Lu Hua Guo | 2021 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,1: | 10 |

| 17 | Microstructure studies of the grinding damage in monocrystalline silicon wafers显示文摘The depth and nature of the subsurface damage in a silicon wafer will limit the performance of IC components. Damage microstructures of the silicon wafers ground by the #325, #600, and #2000 grinding wheels was analyzed. The re-sults show that many microcracks, fractures, and dislocation rosettes appear in the surface and subsurface of the wafer ground by the #325 grinding wheel. No obvious microstructure change exists. The amorphous layer with a thickness of about 100 nm, microcracks, high density dislocations, and polycrystalline silicon are observed in the subsurface of the wafer ground by the #600 grinding wheel. For the wafer ground by the #2000 grinding wheel, an amorphous layer of about 30 nm thickness, a polycrystalline silicon layer, a few dislocations, and an elastic deformation layer exist. | 19 | A novel miR167a-OsARF6-OsAUX3 module regulates grain length and weight in rice显示文摘Grain size is one of the most important factors that control rice yield,as it is associated with grain weight(GW).To date,dozens of rice genes that regulate grain size have been isolated;however,the regulatory mechanism underlying GW control is not fully understood.Here,the quantitative trait locus qGL5 for grain length(GL)and GW was identified in recombinant inbred lines of 9311 and Nipponbare(NPB)and fine mapped to a candidate gene,OsAUX3.Sequence variations between 9311 and NPB in the OsAUX3 promoter and loss of function of OsAUX3 led to higher GL and GW.RNA sequencing,gene expression quantification,dual-luciferase reporter assays,chromatin immunoprecipitation-quantitative PCR,and yeast one-hybrid assays demonstrated that OsARF6 is an upstream transcription factor regulating the expression of OsAUX3.OsARF6 binds directly to the auxin response elements of the OsAUX3 promoter,covering a single-nucleotide polymorphism site between 9311 and NPB/Dongjin/Hwayoung,and thereby controls GL by altering longitudinal expansion and auxin distribution/content in glume cells.Furthermore,we showed that miR167a positively regulate GL and GW by directing OsARF6 mRNA silencing.Taken together,our study reveals that a novel miR167a-OsARF6-OsAUX3 module regulates GL and GW in rice,providing a potential target for the improvement of rice yield. | Jiyue Qiao Hongzhen Jiang Yuqing Lin Lianguang Shang Mei Wang Dongming Li Xiangdong Fu Markus Geisler Yanhua Qi Zhenyu Gao Qian Qian | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,10: | 8 |
| 20 | The role of climate factors in geographic variation in body mass and wing length in a passerine bird显示文摘Background: Geographic variation in body size is assumed to reflect adaptation to local environmental conditions. Although Bergmann's rule is usually sufficient to explain such variation in homeotherms, some exceptions have been documented. The relationship between altitude, latitude and body size, has been well documented for some vertebrate taxa during the past decades. However, relatively little information is available on the effects of climate variables on body size in birds.Methods: We collected the data of 267 adult Eurasian Tree Sparrow(Passer montanus) specimens sampled at 48 localities in China's mainland, and further investigated the relationships between two response variables, body mass and wing length, as well as a suit of explanatory variables, i.e. altitude, latitude, mean annual temperature(MAT), annual precipitation(PRC), annual sunshine hours(SUN), average annual wind speed(WS), air pressure(AP) and relative humidity(RH).Results: Our study showed that(1) although the sexes did not differ significantly in body mass, males had longer wings than females;(2) body mass and wing length were positively correlated with altitude but not with latitude;(3) body mass and wing length were negatively correlated with AP and RH, but not significantly correlated with WS. Body mass was positively correlated with SUN and inversely correlated with MAT. Wing length was not correlated with MAT in either sex, but was positively correlated with SUN and negatively correlated with PRC in male sparrows;(4) variation in body mass could be best explained by AP and SUN, whereas variation in wing length could be explained by RH and AP in both sexes. In addition, variation in male sparrows can be explained by SUN, WS and PRC but not in females.Conclusions: Two different proxies of body size, body mass and wing length, correlated with same geographic factors and different climate factors.
