| 2 | Nonlinear mixing-based terahertz emission in inclined rippled density plasmas显示文摘We propose to investigate the THz field generation using nonlinear mixing mechanism of laser beat wave with inclined rippled density plasmas. Two laser pulses with frequencies(ω_(1),ω_(2)) and wave vectors(k_(1),k_(2)) co-propagate and resultant laser beat wave forms at beat frequency(ω_(1)-ω_(2)).Laser beat wave imparts a nonlinear force on the ambient electrons and pushes them outward with nonlinear velocity v_(NL).Coupling of induced density perturbation and nonlinear velocity v_(NL)generates nonlinear currents at laser beat frequency that further generates electromagnetic field E_((ω_(1)-ω_(2))) in terahertz(THz)range. In the present scheme, density ripples are introduced at an angle with respect to laser propagation and flat Gaussian index(f) is introduced in laser field profile that transform curved top of Gaussian field envelope into flat top field envelope. The combined effect of flat laser pulses with inclined density ripples in plasmas shows 10-fold enhancement in THz field amplitude when flat-Gaussian index(f) varies from 1 to 4.Also,the THz field intensifies when density ripples inclination increases upto a certain angle and then decreases. | K Gopal A P Singh S Divya | 2023 | Chinese Physics B2023,32,6: | 0 |
| 3 | Clinical Significance of Liver Function Abnormality in Patients with COVID-19:A Single-center Experience from Western India显示文摘Background and Aims:The impact of coronavirus disease-2019(COVID-19)on liver function remains to be fully elucidated. This study was designed to investigate such and determine the clinical significance in determining mortality risk. Methods:A retrospective study was conducted in patients with COVID-19 from March 2020 to July 2020.Clinical details were retrieved from electronic medical records to obtain clinical characteristics, medical history, laboratory tests, therapeutic intervention, and outcome data. Results:A total of 184 patients with COVID-19 were included(median age:45.5 years),comprised of 62.5%men.In total,22(12.0%)patients had severe infection and 162(88.0%)had mild to moderate infection.Overall,95(51.6%)showed abnormal liver function test(LFT)and 17(9.2%)showed normal LFT at admission. The median age, hospital stay, and LFT were significantly higher in severe vs.non-severe infection(p<0.001).Out of 12 deaths, the majority were due to severe infection(n=11).Deaths were also due to acute respiratory distress syndrome(n=5),cardiac reasons(n=3),and sepsis with multiorgan failure(n=3).The median age, hospital stay and number of intensive care unit admissions were higher in patients having abnormal LFT compared to normal LFT.Incidence of elevated aspartate aminotransferase(42.8%and 40.4%),alanine transaminase(43.7%and 41.6%),and hypoalbuminemia(71.4%and72.7%)at admission and discharge were more common in severe infection. The mean survival was significantly lower in severe infection compared to those with non-severe disease(17.2 vs.52.3 days;p<0.001).Conclusions:Incidence of abnormal liver function was higher in patients with severe COVID-19 and was associated with prolonged hospital stay;mortality was associated with severity of COVID-19.For ruling out the risk of liver injury,it is crucial to vigilantly monitor the liver function parameters in patients with COVID-19 admitted to hospital. | Chetan R.Kalal Harshad Joshi Vivek Kumar Divya Gopal Darshana Rathod Ashish Shukla Tarang Gianchandani Chetan Bhatt | 2021 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2021,9,6: | 0 |
| 4 | Evaluation of antimicrobial activity and bronchodialator effect of a polyherbal drug-Shrishadi显示文摘Objective:To investigate antimicrobial and bronchodialator effect of hydroalcholic extract of polyherbal drug Shirishadi containing Shirisha(Albezzia lebbeck),Nagarmotha(Cyprus ratandus) & Kantakari(Solanum xanthocarpum). Methods:Antimicrobial activity was evaluated by discdiffusion method and MIC,MBC,MFC were calculated by micro dilution method.Hydroalcholic extract of this preparation was investigated for its phytochemical analysis, phenol and Oavonoid were determined by speclrophotometric method and in vivo bronchodilator effect was analysed by convulsion time. Results:The phytochemical tests revealed presence of alkaloids, anthraquinones, carbohydrates, flavonoids, saponins and tannins. The antimicrobial result showed the MIC of 6.25 mg/ml.against Staphylococcus aureus and 12.5 mg/mL.for Escherichia coli and 12.5 mg/mL against remaining bacteria tested, with strong antifungal activity. The maximum inhibition zone is found against Pseudomonas aeruginosa with MIC 16 mg/mL Drug showed significant bronchodilator effect with 27.86%& 36.13%increase in preconvulsion time of guinea pigs prebeated with 100 & 200 mg/kg body weight of extract. Conclusions:The study reveals that the extracts possess antibacterial activity and antifungal activity in a dose dependent manner. This antimicrobial property may be due to presence of several saponins, further studies are highly needed for the drug development. | Divya Kumari Kajaria Mayank Gangwar Dharmendra Kumar Amit Kumar Sharma Ragini Tilak Gopal Nath Yamini Bhusan Tripathi JS Tripathi SK Tiwari | 2012 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2012,2,11: | 0 |
