1Management of complex and redo cases of pelvic fracture urethral injuries显示文摘Objectives:Pelvic fracture urethral injuries(PFUI)result from traumatic disruption of the urethra.A significant proportion of cases are complex rendering their management challenging.We described management strategies for eight different complex PFUI scenarios.Methods:Our centre is a tertiary referral centre for complex PFUI cases.We maintain a prospective database(1995e2016),which we retrospectively analysed.All patients with PFUI managed at our institute were included.Results:Over two decades 1062 cases of PFUI were managed at our institute(521 primary and 541 redo cases).Most redo cases were referred to us from other centres.Redo cases had up to five prior attempts at urethroplasty.We managed complex cases,which included bulbar ischemia,young boys and girls with PFUI,PFUI with double block,concomitant PFUI and iatrogenic anterior urethral strictures.Bulbar ischemia merits substitution urethroplasty,most commonly,using pedicled preputial tube.PFUI in young girls is usually associated with urethrovaginal fistula.Young boys with PFUI commonly have a long gap necessitating trans-abdominal approach.Our success rate with individualised management is 85.60%in primary cases,79.13%in redo cases and 82.40%in cases of bulbar ischemia.Conclusion:The definition of complex PFUI is ever expanding.The best chance of success is at the first attempt.Anastomotic urethroplasty for PFUI should be performed in experienced hands at high volume centres.Sanjay BKulkarni Sandesh Surana Devang JDesai Hazem Orabi Subramanian Iyer Jyotsna Kulkarni Ajit Dumawat Pankaj M.Joshi 2018Asian Journal of Urology2018,5,2:13

3Dendritic macromolecules as nano-scale drug carriers:Phase solubility,in vitro drug release,hemolysis and cytotoxicity study显示文摘Potential of nanoscale triazine based dendritic macromolecules G1,G2 and G3 as solubility enhancers of drug was investigated.Effect of pH,concentration and generation of synthesized dendritic macromolecules on solubility of ketoprofen was studied.G3 dendrimer was further exploited as carrier for sustained release.Ketoprofen was encapsulated by inclusion complex method and also characterized by Flourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy.Sustained release study of ketoprofen from ketoprofen loaded dendrimer was carried out and compared with free ketoprofen.Hemolytic potential and Cytotoxicity assay using A-549 lung cancer cell lines revealed that synthesized triazine based dendritic macromolecules having more potential that commercially available PAMAM dendrimer.Pravinkumar M.Patel Rinkesh Patel Devang Wadia Rajni M.Patel 2015Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2015,10,4:3

14Drag reduction by application of aerodynamic devices in a race car显示文摘In this era of fast-depleting natural resources,the hike in fuel prices is ever-growing.With stringent norms over environmental policies,the automotive manufacturers are on a voyage to produce efficient vehicles with lower emissions.High-speed cars are at a stake to provide uncompromised performance but having strict rules over emissions drives the companies to approach through a different route to keep the demands of performance intact.One of the most sought-after ways is to improve the aerodynamics of the vehicles.Drag force is one of the major setbacks when it comes to achieving high speeds when the vehicle is in motion.This research aims to examine the effects of different add on devices on the vehicle to reduce drag and make the vehicle aerodynamically streamlined.A more streamlined vehicle will be able to achieve high speeds and consequently,the fuel economy is also improved.The three-dimensional car model is developed in SOLIDWORKS v17.Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)is performed to understand the effects of these add on devices.CFD is carried out in the ANSYS^(TM) 17.0 Fluent module.Drag Coefficient(CD),Lift Coefficient(CL),Drag Force and Lift Force are calculated and compared in different cases.The result of the simulations was analyzed and it was observed that different devices posed several different functionalities,but maximum drag reduction was found in the case of GT with spoiler and diffuser with a maximum reduction of 16.53%.Devang S.Nath Prashant Chandra Pujari Amit Jain Vikas Rastogi 2021Advances in Aerodynamics2021,3,1:1

16Fascial space odontogenic infections: Ultrasonography as an alternative to magnetic resonance imaging显示文摘BACKGROUND The introduction of modern diagnostic tools has transformed the field of maxillofacial radiology.Odontogenic infection and fascial space involvement have been evaluated with many diagnostic tools,including ultrasonography(USG)and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).AIM To explore USG as an alternative model to MRI in the detection of fascial space spread of odontogenic infections.METHODS Among 20 patients,50 fascial spaces were clinically diagnosed with odontogenic infection and included in this prospective study.Fascial space infection involvement was examined by USG and MRI.Results were compared for both and confirmed by microbiological testing.RESULTS Ultrasonography identified 42(84%)of 50 involved fascial spaces.Whereas MRI identified all 50(100%).USG could stage the infections from edematous change to cellulitis to complete abscess formation.CONCLUSION MRI was superior in recognizing deep fascial space infections compared to USG.However, USG is a significant addition and has a definite role in prognosticatingthe stage of infection and exact anatomic location in superficial space infections.Sreenivasarao Ghali Girish Katti Syed Shahbaz Parita K Chitroda Anukriti V Darshan Devang Divakar Aftab Ahmed Khan Sachin Naik Abdulaziz A Al-Kheraif Chitra Jhugroo 2021World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,3:1
