| 1 | Haplotype variations in QTL for salt tolerance in Chinese wheat accessions identified by marker-based and pedigree-based kinship analyses显示文摘Most modern wheat cultivars were selected on the basis of yield-related indices measured under optimal fertilizer and irrigation inputs. With climate change, land degradation and salinity caused by sea water encroachment, wheat is increasingly subjected to environmental stress. Moreover, expanding urbanization increasingly encroaches upon prime agricultural land in countries like China, and alternative cropping areas must be found. Some of these areas have moderate constraining factors, such as salinity. Therefore,it is important to investigate whether current genetic materials and breeding procedures are maintaining adequate variability to address future problems caused by abiotic stress. In this study,a panel of 307 wheat accessions, including local landraces, exotic cultivars used in Chinese breeding programs and Chinese cultivars released during different periods since1940,were subjected to a genome-wide association study to dissect the genetic basis of salinity tolerance. Both marker-based and pedigree-based kinship analyses revealed that favorable haplotypes were introduced in some exotic cultivars as well as a limited number of Chinese landraces from the 1940 s.However, improvements in salinity tolerance during modern breeding are not as obvious as that of yield. To broaden genetic diversity for increasing salt tolerance, there is a need to refocus attention on local landraces that have high degrees of salinity tolerance and carry rare favorable alleles that have not been exploited in breeding. | Shizhou Yu Jianhui Wu Meng Wang Weiming Shi Guangmin Xia Jizeng Jia Zhensheng Kang Dejun Han | 2020 | The Crop Journal2020,8,6: | 4 |
| 2 | Effect of the Structure of Cations and Anions of Ionic Liquids on Separation of Aromatics from Hydrocarbon Mixtures显示文摘The effects of the structure of typical cations and anions of ionic liquids on the separation of benzene and toluene from aromatic/paraffin mixtures were studied. The results showed that the corresponding separation factors were considerably larger than those of the traditional solvents (Benzene+Hexane+sulfolane), and that the ionic liquids could be used as novel solvents for the separation of aromatics from hydrocarbon mixtures. The key parameters governing the ability of ionic liquids for separating aromatics from hydrocarbon sources were investigated. It was found that the effectiveness of the ionic liquids, based on the same anion, changed in the cation order of [BIqu]+< [BPy]+< [BMIM]+. The selectivity of the ionic liquid toward aromatics decreased apparently with the increasing length of the substituted alkyl chain of its cationic head ring. The separation factors, based on the same cation, changed in the anion order of [Tf2N]-<[PF6]-<[BF4]-<[C2H5SO4]-. The solubilities of the aromatics were greater in the ionic liquids based on the former three anions than that in the ionic liquids involving [C2H5SO4]-. | Liu Yansheng Zhang Zhongxin Zhang Guofu Liu Zhichang Hu Yufeng Shi Quan Ji Dejun | 2006 | Petroleum Science2006,3,3: | 2 |

| 5 | Effect of potassium carbonate on catalytic synthesis of calcium carbide at moderate temperature显示文摘Calcium carbide was successfully synthesized by carbothermal reduction of lime with coke at 1973 K for 1.5 h.The effect of potassium carbonate as additive on the composition and morphology of the product was investi-gated using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope.Addition of potassium carbonate increased the yield of calcium carbide. The sample in the presence of potassium carbonate generated acetylene gas of 168.3 L/kg,which was 10%higher than that in the absence of potassium carbonate. This result confirmed the catalytic effect of potassium carbonate on the synthesis of calcium carbide.A possible mechanism of the above effects was that the additive, which was melted at the reduction temperature, dissolved CaO and so promoted the contact between CaO and carbon, which was essential for the solid-solid reaction to form calcium carbide. | Dejun SHI Ke QIAO Zifeng YAN | 2011 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2011,5,3: | 1 |
