1Analysis of the Global Burden of Disease study highlights the trends in death and disability-adjusted life years of leukemia from 1990 to 2017显示文摘Background:The patterns of leukemia burden have dramatically changed in recent years.This study aimed to estimate the global trends of leukemiarelated death and disability-adjusted life-years(DALYs)from 1990 to 2017.Methods:The data was acquired from the latest version of the Global Burden of Disease(GBD)study.Estimated annual percentage changes(EAPCs)were calculated to estimate the trend of age-standardized rate(ASR)of death and DALYs due to leukemia and its main subtypes from 1990 to 2017.Results:Globally,the numbers of death and DALYs due to leukemia were 347.58×10^(3)(95%uncertainty interval[UI]=317.26×10^(3)-364.88×10^(3))and 11975.35×10^(3)(95%UI=10749.15×10^(3)-12793.58×10^(3))in 2017,with a 31.22% and 0.03% increase in absolute numbers from 1990 to 2017,respectively.Both of their ASR showed decreasing trends from 1990 to 2017 with the EAPCs being−1.04(95%confidence interval[CI]=(−1.10-−0.99)and−1.52(95%CI=−1.59-−1.44),respectively.Globally,the most pronounced decreasing trend of death and DALYs occurred in chronic myeloid leukemia with EAPCs of−2.76(95%CI=−2.88-−2.64)and−2.84(95%CI=−2.97-−2.70),respectively,while the trend increased in acute myeloid leukemia.The death and DALYs of leukemia decreased in most areas and countries with high socio-demographic index(SDI)including Bahrain,Finland,and Australia.Conclusions:The disease burden of death and DALYs due to leukemia decreased globally,and for most regions and countries from 1990 to 2017.However,the leukemia burden is still a substantial challenge globally and required adequate and affordable medical resources to improve the survival and quality of life of leukemia patients.Zejin Ou Danfeng Yu Yuanhao Liang Wenqiao He Yongzhi Li Minyi Zhang Fangfei You Huan He Qing Chen 2020Cancer Communications2020,40,11:4
2Comparison of PM_(2.5) and CO_(2) Concentrations in Large Cities of China during the COVID-19 Lockdown显示文摘Estimating the impacts on PM_(2.5)pollution and CO_(2)emissions by human activities in different urban regions is important for developing efficient policies.In early 2020,China implemented a lockdown policy to contain the spread of COVID-19,resulting in a significant reduction of human activities.This event presents a convenient opportunity to study the impact of human activities in the transportation and industrial sectors on air pollution.Here,we investigate the variations in air quality attributed to the COVID-19 lockdown policy in the megacities of China by combining in-situ environmental and meteorological datasets,the Suomi-NPP/VIIRS and the CO_(2)emissions from the Carbon Monitor project.Our study shows that PM_(2.5)concentrations in the spring of 2020 decreased by 41.87%in the Yangtze River Delta(YRD)and 43.30%in the Pearl River Delta(PRD),respectively,owing to the significant shutdown of traffic and manufacturing industries.However,PM_(2.5)concentrations in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH)region only decreased by 2.01%because the energy and steel industries were not fully paused.In addition,unfavorable weather conditions contributed to further increases in the PM_(2.5)concentration.Furthermore,CO_(2)concentrations were not significantly affected in China during the short-term emission reduction,despite a 19.52%reduction in CO_(2)emissions compared to the same period in 2019.Our results suggest that concerted efforts from different emission sectors and effective long-term emission reduction strategies are necessary to control air pollution and CO_(2)emissions.Chuwei LIU Zhongwei HUANG Jianping HUANG Chunsheng LIANG Lei DING Xinbo LIAN Xiaoyue LIU Li Zhang Danfeng WANG 2022Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,6:2

7Novel joint encoding/decoding algorithms of fountain codes for underwater acoustic communication显示文摘Fountain codes are considered to be a promising coding technique in underwater acoustic communication(UAC) which is challenged with the unique propagation features of the underwater acoustic channel and the harsh marine environment. And Luby transform(LT) codes are the first codes fully realizing the digital fountain concept. However, in conventional LT encoding/decoding algorithms, due to the imperfect coverage(IC) of input symbols and short cycles in the generator matrix, stopping sets would occur and terminate the decoding. Thus, the recovery probability is reduced,high coding overhead is required and decoding delay is increased.These issues would be disadvantages while applying LT codes in underwater acoustic communication. Aimed at solving those issues, novel encoding/decoding algorithms are proposed. First,a doping and non-uniform selecting(DNS) encoding algorithm is proposed to solve the IC and the generation of short cycles problems. And this can reduce the probability of stopping sets occur during decoding. Second, a hybrid on the fly Gaussian elimination and belief propagation(OFG-BP) decoding algorithm is designed to reduce the decoding delay and efficiently utilize the information of stopping sets.
