| 1 | Epidemiology of perforating peptic ulcer:A population-based retrospective study over 40 years显示文摘BACKGROUND The incidence of peptic ulcer disease has decreased during the last few decades,but the incidence of reported peptic ulcer complications has not decreased.Perforating peptic ulcer(PPU)is a severe form of the disease.AIM To assess trends in the incidence,presentation,and outcome of PPU over a period of 40 years.METHODS This was a single-centre,retrospective,cohort study of all patients admitted to Levanger Hospital,Norway,with PPU from 1978 to 2017.The patients were identified in the Patient Administrative System of the hospital using International Classification of Diseases(ICD),revision 8,ICD-9,and ICD-10 codes for perforated gastric and duodenal ulcers.We reviewed the medical records of the patients to retrieve data.Vital statistics were available for all patients.The incidence of PPU was analysed using Poisson regression with perforated ulcer as the dependent variable,and sex,age,and calendar year from 1978 to 2017 as covariates.Relative survival analysis was performed to compare long-term survival over the four decades.RESULTS Two hundred and nine patients were evaluated,including 113(54%)men.Fortysix(22%)patients were older than 80 years.Median age increased from the first to the last decade(from 63 to 72 years).The incidence rate increased with increasing age,but we measured a decline in recent decades for both sexes.A significant increase in the use of acetylsalicylic acid,from 5%(2/38)to 18%(8/45),was observed during the study period.Comorbidity increased significantly over the 40 years of the study,with 22%(10/45)of the patients having an American Society of Anaesthesiologists(ASA)score 4-5 in the last decade,compared to 5%(2/38)in the first decade.Thirty-nine percent(81/209)of the patients had one or more postoperative complications.Both 100-day mortality and long-term survival were associated with ASA score,without significant variations between the decades.CONCLUSION Declining incidence rates occurred in recent years,but the patients were older and had more comorbidity.The ASA score was associated with both short-term mortality and long-term survival. | Aydin Dadfar Tom-Harald Edna | 2020 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2020，26，35： | 5 |
| 2 | Single intratesticular injection of blood-serum-derived exosomes can potentially alleviate testopathy following testicular torsion显示文摘Background:Testicular torsion(TT)is an acute inflammatory process leading to male infertility.Today,anti-i nflammatory effects of exosomes derived from blood serum are used in various laboratory procedures.In the present study,the anti-i nflammatory effects of blood-serum-derived exosomes in treatment of acute inflammation following TT in mice were evaluated.Materials and Methods:Eighteen male mice were grouped as healthy control,TT,and TT+exosome.TT was induced surgically,and exosomes were extracted from blood serum and administrated by a single intratesticular injection(10 IU).Malondialdehyde(MDA)and Griess assays were used to evaluate the level of oxidative stress.Sperm indices,testosterone(Tes),and apoptotic gene expression(p-53,Bcl2,and Caspase-3)were also assessed.H&E and immunohistochemistry(IHC)stainings were used for histopathological investigations.Data analysis was applied by SPSS(v.19)software.Results:Oxidative stress and apoptotic genes expression were increased significantly(p<0.05)in TT group compared with control.Sperm parameters and Tes were significantly increased,and expression of apoptotic genes was significantly reduced in TT+exosome group(p<0.05).Conclusion:Since the blood-serum-derived exosomes have anti-i nflammatory features,the intratesticular application of blood-serum-derived exosomes can be used clinically in acute phase of orchitis following TT to inhibit testicular inflammation. | Mona Keivan Fatemeh Mansouri Torghabeh Samira Davoodi Shima Moradi Maryamneghari Reza Dadfar | 2022 | Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2022，5，4： | 2 |

| 11 | Validation of the Farsi version of the Death Obsession Scale among nurses显示文摘Objectives:Obsession is one of the important aspects in death distress.The objective of this study was to estimate the reliability,validity,and factorial structure of the Farsi version of the Death Obsession Scale(DOS).Methods:A convenience sample of 106 Iranian nurses from two hospitals at Tehran city,Iran was recruited.They completed the DOS,Death Concern Scale,Collett-Lester Fear of Death Scale,Death Anxiety Scale,Reasons for Death Fear Scale,and Death Depression Scale.Results:Cronbach's a for the DOS was 0.95,and 2-week test-retest reliability was 0.74.The DOS correlated 0.48,0.46,0.47,0.39 and 0.44 with the last mentioned scales,respectively(P<0.01),indicating good construct and criterion-related validity.Principle components analysis of the DOS identified three factors accounted for 74.82%of the variance.Factor 1 labeled“Death rumination”(34.78%of the variance),Factor 2 labeled“Death dominance”(29.65%of the variance),and Factor 3 labeled“Death idea repetition”(10.38%of the variance).Conclusions:The DOS has good validity and reliability,and it could be recommended for use in clinical and research settings to assess the death obsession in Iranian nurses. | Mahboubeh Dadfar Ahmed M.Abdel-Khalek David Lester | 2018 | International Journal of Nursing Sciences2018，5，2： | 1 |
