5Perspectives on exfoliated two-dimensional spintronics显示文摘Magnetic orderings, i.e., the spontaneous alignment of electron spins below a critical temperature, have been playing key roles in modern science and technologies for both the wide applications of magnetic recording for information storage and the vibrant potential of solid state electronic spin devices (also known as spintronics) for logic operations. In the past decades, thanks to the development of thin film technologies, magnetic thin films via sputtering or epitaxial growth have made the spintronic devices possible at the industrial scale. Yet thinner materials at lower costs with more versatile functionalities are highly desirable for advancing future spintronics. 6Regulation of nitrogen starvation responses by the alarmone(p)ppGpp in rice显示文摘Nitrogen is an essential macronutrient for all living organisms and is critical for crop productivity and quality.In higher plants,inorganic nitrogen is absorbed through roots and then assimilated into amino acids by the highly conserved glutamine synthetase/glutamine:2-oxoglutarate aminotransferase(GS/GOGAT)cycle.How nitrogen metabolism and nitrogen starvation responses of plants are regulated remains largely unknown.Previous studies revealed that mutations in the rice ABNORMAL CYTOKININ RESPONSE1(ABC1)gene encoding Fd-GOGAT cause a typical nitrogen deficiency syndrome.Here,we show that ARE2(for ABC1 REPRESSOR2)is a key regulator of nitrogen starvation responses in rice.The are2 mutations partially rescue the nitrogen-deficient phenotype of abc1 and the are2 mutants show enhanced tolerance to nitrogen deficiency,suggesting that ARE2 genetically interacts with ABC1/Fd-GOGAT.ARE2 encodes a chloroplast-localized Rel A/Spo T homolog protein that catalyzes the hydrolysis of guanosine pentaphosphate or tetraphosphate(p)pp Gpp,an alarmone regulating the stringent response in bacteria under nutritional stress conditions.The are2 mutants accumulate excessive amounts of(p)pp Gpp,which correlate with lower levels of photosynthetic proteins and higher amino acid levels.Collectively,these observations suggest that the alarmone(p)pp Gpp mediates nitrogen stress responses and may constitute a highly conserved mechanism from bacteria to plants.Hanwen Li Jinqiang Nian Shuang Fang Meng Guo Xiahe Huang Fengxia Zhang Qing Wang Jian Zhang Jiaoteng Bai Guojun Dong Peiyong Xin Xianzhi Xie Fan Chen Guodong Wang Yingchun Wang Qian Qian Jianru Zuo Jinfang Chu Xiaohui Ma 2022Journal of Genetics and Genomics2022,49,5:1

8Pressure-temperature Evolution of the Metapelites in the Motuo Area, the Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis显示文摘The Motuo area is located in the east of the Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis. There outcrops a sequence of high-grade metamorphic rocks, such as metapelites. Petrology and mineralogy data suggest that these rocks have experienced three stages of metamorphism. The prograde metamorphic mineral assemblages(M1) are mineral inclusions(biotite + plagioclase + quartz ± sillimanite ± Fe-Ti oxides) preserved in garnet porphyroblasts, and the peak metamorphic assemblages(M2) are represented by garnet with the lowest XSps values and the lowest XFe# ratios and the matrix minerals(plagioclase + quartz ± Kfeldspar + biotite + muscovite + kyanite ± sillimanite), whereas the retrograde assemblages(M3) are composed of biotite + plagioclase + quartz symplectites rimming the garnet porphyroblasts. Thermobarometric computation shows that the metamorphic conditions are 562–714°C at 7.3–7.4 kbar for the M1 stage, 661–800°C at 9.4–11.6 kbar for the M2 stage, and 579–713°C at 5.5–6.6 kbar for the M3 stage. 9Timing of Displacement along the Yardoi Detachment Fault,Southern Tibet:Insights from Zircon U-Pb and Mica 40Ar-39Ar Geochronology显示文摘The Yardoi dome is located in the eastern end of the northwest-southeast extending North Himalayan domes (NHD). The dome exposes a granite pluton in the core and three lithologictectonic units separated by the upper detachment fault and the lower detachment fault. The Yardoi detachment fault (YDF), corresponding to the lower detachment fault, is a 800 m strongly deformed top-NW shear zone. LA-1CP-MS zircon U-Pb dating yielded a crystallization ages of 19.57±0.23 to 15.5±0.11 Ma for the leucogranite dyke swarm, which indicates that the ductile motion along the YDF began at ca. 20 Ma. The 40Ar/39Ar muscovite ages of 14.05±0.2 to 13.2±0.2 Ma and the 40Ar/39Ar biotite age of 13.15±0.2 Ma, suggest that the exhumation led to cooling through the 370℃ Ar closure temperature in muscovite at ~14 Ma to the 335℃ Ar closure temperature in biotite at ~13 Ma. Our new geochronological data from the Yardoi dome and other domes in the Tethyan Himalayan Sequences suggest that the ductile deformation in the region began at or before^36 Ma in a deep tectonic level, resulting in southward ductile flow at the mid-crustai tectonic level that continued from 20 to 13 Ma. 11The emerging ferroic orderings in two dimensions显示文摘Because of the discovery of carbon atomic flatland, emerging physical phenomena are reported using the platform of two-dimensional materials and their hetero-structures. Especially, quantum orderings,such as superconductivity, ferromagnetism, and ferroelectricity in the atomically thin limit are cutting edge topics, which are of broad interest in the scope of condensed matter physics. In this study, we will recall the recent developments on two-dimensional ferroic orderings from both experimental and theoretical points of view.
