1Phase asynchrony between flare index and sunspot activity显示文摘In this paper,the relative phase relationship between flare index and sunspot activity(sunspot numbers and sunspot areas) is investigated.It is found that(i) the flare index and sunspot activity are asynchronous in phase space at all period scales,and the former lags behind the latter,which implies our results are supported for the integral response model;(ii) their diferent definitions and physical meanings may be a major reason for their phase asynchrony between them,and the solar flare activity favor to be related to the magnetic complex rather than magnetic strength.TANG YanKe DENG LinHua 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,10:2
2Conserved H3K27me3-associated chromatin looping mediates physical interactions of gene clusters in plants显示文摘Higher-order chromatin organization is essential for transcriptional regulation,genome stability maintenance,and other genome functions.Increasing evidence has revealed significant differences in 3D chromatin organization between plants and animals.However,the extent,pattern,and rules of chromatin organization in plants are still unclear.In this study,we systematically identified and characterized long-range chromatin loops in the Arabidopsis 3D genome.We identified hundreds of long-range cis chromatin loops and found their anchor regions are closely associated with H3K27me3 epigenetic modifications.Furthermore,we demonstrated that these chromatin loops are dependent on Polycomb group(PcG)proteins,suggesting that the Polycomb repressive complex2(PRC2)complex is essential for establishing and maintaining these novel loops.Although most of these PcG-medicated chromatin loops are stable,many of these loops are tissue-specific or dynamically regulated by different treatments.Interestingly,tandemly arrayed gene clusters and metabolic gene clusters are enriched in anchor regions.Long-range H3K27me3-marked chromatin interactions are associated with the coregulation of specific gene clusters.Finally,we also identified H3K27me3-associated chromatin loops associated with gene clusters in Oryza sativa and Glycine max,indicating that these long-range chromatin loops are conserved in plants.Our results provide novel insights into genome evolution and transcriptional coregulation in plants.Linhua Sun Yuxin Cao Zhu Li Yi Liu Xiaochang Yin Xing Wang Deng Hang He Weiqiang Qian 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,8:0
3Genomic insights on the contribution of introgressions from Xian/Indica to the genetic improvement of Geng/Japonica rice cultivars显示文摘Hybridization between Xian/indica(XI)and Geng/japonica(GJ)rice combined with utilization of plant ideotypes has greatly contributed to yield improvements in modern GJ rice in China over the past 50 years.To explore the genomic basis of improved yield and disease resistance in GJ rice,we conducted a large-scale genomic landscape analysis of 816 elite GJ cultivars representing multiple eras of germplasm from China.We detected consistently increasing introgressions from three XI subpopulations into GJ cultivars since the 1980s and found that the XI genome introgressions significantly increased the grain number per panicle(GN)and decreased the panicle number per plant.This contributed to the improvement of plant type during modern breeding,changing multi-tiller plants tomoderate tiller plants with a large panicle size and increasing the blast resistance.Notably,we found that key gene haplotypes controlling plant architecture,yield components,and pest and disease resistance,including IPA1,SMG1,DEP3,Pib,Pi-d2,and Bph3,were introduced from XI rice by introgression.By GWAS analysis,we detected a GN-related gene Gnd5,which had been consistently introgressed from XI into GJ cultivars since the 1980s.Gnd5 is a GRAS transcription factor gene,and Gnd5 knockout mutants showed a significant reduction in GN.The estimated genetic effects of genes varied among different breeding locations,which explained the distinct introgression levels of XI gene haplotypes,including Gnd5,DEP3,etc.,to these GJ breeding pedigrees.These findings reveal the genomic contributions of introgressions from XI to the trait improvements of GJ rice cultivars and provide new insights for future rice genomic breeding.Di Cui Han Zhou Xiaoding Ma Zechuan Lin Linhua Sun Bing Han Maomao Li Jianchang Sun Jin Liu Guixiu Jin Xianju Wang Guilan Cao Xing Wang Deng Hang He Longzhi Han 2022Plant Communications2022,3,3:0
4Synergistic promotion of particulate matter reduction and production performance via adjusting electrochemical reactions in the zinc electrolysis industry显示文摘Heavy particulate matter (PM) pollution and high energy consumption are the bottlenecks of hydrometallurgy, especially in the electrolysis process. Therefore, an urgent need is to explore PM reduction methods with production performance co-benefits. This study presents three PM reduction methods based on controlling operating parameters, i.e., lowering electrolyte temperature, H2SO4 concentration, and current density of the cathode. The optimized conditions were also investigated using the response surface methodology to balance the PM reduction effect and Zn production. The results showed that lowering electrolyte temperature is the most efficient, with an 89.0% reduction in the PM generation flux (GFPM). Reducing H2SO4 concentration led to the minimum side effects on the current efficiency of Zn deposition (CEZn) or power consumption (PC). With the premise of non-deteriorating CEZn and PC, GFPM can be reduced by 86.3% at the optimal condition (electrolyte temperature = 295 K, H2SO4 = 110 g/L, current density = 373 A/m^(2)). In addition, the reduction mechanism was elucidated by comprehensively analyzing bubble characteristics, electrochemical reactions, and surface tension. Results showed that lower electrolyte temperature inhibited the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and compressed gas volume. Lower H2SO4 concentration inhibited the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and reduced electrolyte surface tension. Lower current density inhibited both OER and HER by decreasing the reaction current. The inhibited gas evolutions reduced the microbubbles’ number and size, thereby reducing GFPM. 5Increased long-distance and homo-trans interactions related to H3K27me3 in Arabidopsis hybrids显示文摘In plants,the genome structure of hybrids changes compared with their parents,but the effects of these changes in hybrids remain elusive.Comparing reciprocal crosses between Col×C24 and C24×Col in Arabidopsis using high-throughput chromosome conformation capture assay(Hi-C)analysis,we found that hybrid three-dimensional(3D)chromatin organization had more long-distance interactions relative to parents,and this was mainly located in promoter regions and enriched in genes with heterosis-related pathways.The interactions between euchromatin and heterochromatin were increased,and the compartment strength decreased in hybrids.In compartment domain(CD)boundaries,the distal interactions were more in hybrids than their parents.In the hybrids of CURLY LEAF(clf)mutants clfCol×clfC24and clfC24×clfCol,the heterosis phenotype was damaged,and the long-distance interactions in hybrids were fewer than in their parents with lower H3K27me3.ChIP-seq data revealed higher levels of H3K27me3 in the region adjacent to the CD boundary and the same interactional homo-trans sites in the wild-type(WT)hybrids,which may have led to more long-distance interactions.In addition,the differentially expressed genes(DEGs)located in the boundaries of CDs and loop regions changed obviously in WT,and the functional enrichment for DEGs was different between WT and clf in the longdistance interactions and loop regions.Our findings may therefore propose a new epigenetic explanation of heterosis in the Arabidopsis hybrids and provide new insights into crop breeding and yield increase.Zhaoxu Gao Yanning Su Le Chang Guanzhong Jiao Yang Ou Mei Yang Chao Xu Pengtao Liu Zejia Wang Zewen Qi Wenwen Liu Linhua Sun Guangming He Xing Wang Deng Hang He 2024Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2024,66,2:0
6Distinct gut microbiota and health outcomes in asymptomatic infection,viral nucleic acid test re-positive,and convalescent COVID-19 cases显示文摘Gut microbiota composition is suggested to associate with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)severity,but the impact of gut microbiota on health outcomes is largely unclear.We recruited 81 individuals from Wuhan,China,including 13 asymptomatic infection cases(Group A),24 COVID-19 convalescents with adverse outcomes(Group C),31 severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)re-positive cases(Group D),and 13 non-COVID-19 healthy controls(Group H).The microbial features of Groups A and D were similar and exhibited higher gut microbial diversity and more abundant short-chain fatty acid(SCFA)-producing species than Group C.Group C was enriched with opportunistic pathogens and virulence factors related to adhesion and toxin production.The abundance of SCFA-producing species was negatively correlated,while Escherichia coli was positively correlated with adverse outcomes.All three groups(A,C,and D)were enriched with the mucusdegrading species Akkermansia muciniphila,but decreased with Bacteroides-encoded carbohydrate-active enzymes.The pathways of vitamin B6 metabolic and folate biosynthesis were decreased,while selenocompound metabolism was increased in the three groups.Specifically,the secondary bile acid(BA)metabolic pathway was enriched in Group A.Antibiotic resistance genes were common among the three groups.Conclusively,the gut microbiota was related to the health outcomes of COVID-19.Dietary supplementations(SCFAs,BA,selenium,folate,vitamin B6)may be beneficial to COVID-19 patients.Ruqin Lin Mingzhong Xiao Shanshan Cao Yu Sun Linhua Zhao Xiaoxiao Mao Peng Chen Xiaolin Tong Zheyuan Ou Hui Zhu Dong Men Xiaodong Li Yiqun Deng Xian-En Zhang Jikai Wen 2022mLife2022,1,2:0

8Irregular Spatial Distributions of Spectral Line Parameters in the Middle Solar Chromosphere Revealed from Analysis of Solar Flash MgⅠb_(2)Spectra显示文摘This paper presents the analytical results of solar MgⅠb_(2)flash spectra,obtained by the prototype Fiber Arrayed Solar Optic Telescope in process of the 2013 Gabon total solar eclipse.The analysis reveals irregular distributions of the spectral line parameters like ratio of line source function to continuum oneβ,ratio of line emissivity to continuum emissivityζ,ratio of the continuum opacity to the line opacity r_(0),line center optical depthτ_(0)、,the line widthΔλ_(D),and the line-of-sight velocity v_(los),while the approximately spherical symmetry can be found in the maps of integrated line intensity and continuum intensity.These irregular distributions originate from those of line profile features like the maximum intensity,the line width and line center wavelength.It is also found from the recovered line center optical depthτ_(0) that in the middle chromosphere,the optical depth is not small due to nonignorable absorption and the long light path along the line-of-sight.Finally,we show that the excessive broadening of spectral lines can be due to co-existence of multiple radiative sources with different line-of-sight velocities unresolved in one detector pixel.Yuhang Jin Zhongquan Qu Zhi Xu Guangtao Dun Liang Chang Xiangming Cheng Xiaoyu Zhang Linhua Deng Yang Peng 2022Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2022,22,8:0
