SIMS U-Pb zircon age of a tuff layer in the Meishucun section, Yunnan, southwest China: Constraint on the age of the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary显示文摘Determination of the age of the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary is critical in understanding early evolution of life on Earth. SIMS U-Pb zircon analyses of the Bed 5 tuff layer of the Meishucun section were carried out closely following the guidance of cathodoluminescence images, and the majority of analyses were conducted on the oscillatory zircon grains. Thirteen measurements yield a highly reliable Concordia U-Pb age of 536.7 ± 3.9 Ma for the Bed 5 horizon. A grand mean of 206Pb/238U age of 535.2± 1.7 Ma (MSWD = 0.53) is calculated based on 13 concordant SIMS measurements of this study and 4 nano-SIMS measurements of Sawaki et al., which is the best estimate of the deposition age of the tuff layer within Bed 5 in the Meishucun section. This age has provided a robust age constraint on the significant Precambrian-Cambrian boundary strata in southern China, which independently suggested the placement of the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary at the bottom of the Xiaowaitoushan Member (Marker A).RiXiang Zhu XianHua Li XianGuang Hou YongXin Pan Fei Wang ChengLong Deng HuaiYu He 2009Science China Earth Sciences2009,52,9:24
Environmental magnetic studies of lacustrine sediments显示文摘In recent decades, environmental magnetism has become an important method for studying past global climatic and environmental changes. For an environmental magnetic study, it is important to understand the magnetic properties of various magnetic minerals in lacustrine sediments and the processes involved in the formation, transport, and preservation of these magnetic minerals. The magnetic response of lacustrine sediments to climatic change may vary widely from lake to lake. To reconstruct the processes contributing to paleoclimatic and paleoenvironmental change, it is, therefore, necessary to derive a complete understanding of the potential origin of the magnetic signal observed.HU Shouyun, DENG Chenglong, E. 3A newly discovered Gigantopithecus fauna from Sanhe Cave, Chongzuo, Guangxi, South China显示文摘Among the most important faunas in the Late Cenozoic, the Gigantopithecus faunas have received a good deal of attention. The Gigantopithecus fauna recently discovered in Sanhe Cave consists of more than 80 mammal species, including cf. Hominidae, Pongo sp., Hylobates sp., Sinomastodon yangzien-sis, Stegodon preorientalis, Cervavitus fenqii, Dicoryphochoerus ultimus and Sus xiaozhu. It is the southernmost Gigantopithecus fauna found so far in China. Its geological age is estimated to be Early Pleistocene based on the fauna and stratigraphic correlation. The significant increase in the estimated body sizes of Ailuropoda, Gigantopithecus and Tapirus shows that the Sanhe fauna is middle Early Pleistocene, later than those from Wushan and Liucheng (early Early Pleistocene). Paleomagnetic dating of the fossil-bearing strata in Sanhe Cave gives an age of approximately 1.2 Ma. The fauna is characterized by tropical-subtropical forest types, including Pongo sp., Tupaia sp., Ia sp., Typhlomys intermedius, etc., and it lacks Palaearctic types. It is a typical tropical forest fauna, suggesting an en-vironment with a lush forest and a warm and humid climate. The discovery of the Sanhe Gigantopith-ecus fauna is significant for establishing the chronological stages of the Gigantopithecus faunas in China, and for discussing their origin, evolution and dynamics.JIN ChangZhu QIN DaGong PAN WenShi TANG ZhiLu LIU JinYi WANG Yuan DENG ChengLong ZHANG YingQi DONG Wei TONG HaoWen 2009Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,5:14
Performance analysis of ghost imaging lidar in background light environment显示文摘The effect of background light on the imaging quality of three typical ghost imaging(GI) lidar systems(namely narrow pulsed GI lidar, heterodyne GI lidar, and pulse-compression GI lidar via coherent detection) is investigated. By computing the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) of fluctuation-correlation GI, our analytical results, which are backed up by numerical simulations, demonstrate that pulse-compression GI lidar via coherent detection has the strongest capacity against background light, whereas the reconstruction quality of narrow pulsed GI lidar is the most vulnerable to background light. The relationship between the peak SNR of the reconstruction image andσ(namely, the signal power to background power ratio) for the three GI lidar systems is also presented, and theresults accord with the curve of SNR-σ.CHENJIN DENG LONG PAN CHENGLONG WANG XIN GAO WENLIN GONG SHENSHENG HAN 2017Photonics Research2017,5,5:13
Astronomical tuning and magnetostratigraphy of Neogene biogenic reefs in Xisha Islands, South China Sea显示文摘Biogenic reefs are one of two major depositional types in the South China Sea, and are constructed by coral, algae and bryozoa. The West Pacific is a major area of biogenic reef development and plays a critical role in the global carbon cycle. However, the lack of geochronological studies in previous works inhibits our understanding of their contributions. Herein, we conduct a cyclostratigraphic and magnetostratigraphic study on Neogene biogenic reefs using the XK–1 core that was drilled at the Shidao Island,Xisha(Paracel) Islands. The main findings of this study are:(1) the establishment of reliable magentostratigraphy for Ledong, Huangliu, Meishan and Sanya Formations;(2) the magnetic susceptibility variation can be inferred as growth index and tuned to the 405–ka long eccentricity cycle;(3) the astronomical geochronology suggests that the bottom ages for Ledong, Yinggehai, Huangliu, Meishan, and Sanya Formations are 2.2 Ma, 5.7 Ma, 10.4 Ma, 16.6 Ma, and 24.3 Ma, respectively; and (4) Earth's eccentricity and obliquity played predominant roles in biogenic reef establishment on orbital to tectonic timescales. Thus, the reported geochronology offers an opportunity to test the contributions of various factors and hypothesize their roles in the global carbon cycle in future.Liang Yi Zhimin Jian Xinyu Liu Youhua Zhu Daojun Zhang Zhenfeng Wang Chenglong Deng 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,9:12
Evidence of fire use of late Pleistocene humans from the Huanglong Cave, Hubei Province, China显示文摘Since 2004, three excavations have been carried out at a late Pleistocene human fossil site of Huanglong Cave in Yunxi County, Hubei Province of China, which unearthed seven human teeth, dozens of stone tools, mammal fossils and other evidence indicating human activities. During the third excavation in 2006, in the same layer as the human teeth, we found some patches of black materials embed- ded in the deposit. We doubted that this black deposit layer is the remains of burning or even human use of fire at the cave. To further explore the possibility of human fire use at the Huanglong Cave, we examined samples directly taken from the black deposit layer and compared them with samples taken from several places in the cave using three methods: micromorphology, element content determination and deposit temperature analysis. Our results indicate that the contents of carbon element in the black deposit reach 64.59%―73.29%. In contrast, contents of carbon element of the comparative samples from other parts in the cave are only 5.82%―9.49%. The micromorphology analysis of the black deposit samples reveals a plant structure like axial parenchyma, fibrocyte, uniseriate ray and vessel. High-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements suggest that the stratum possibly underwent a high temperature in the nature. Based on these lab analyses, we are sure that the black layer in the Huanglong Cave is the remains of fire and combustion did occur in the cave 100000 years ago. Taking other evidence of human activities found in the Huanglong Cave into consideration, we believe that the evidence of fire from the Huanglong Cave was caused by the human activities of controlled use of fire.LIU Wu WU XianZhu LI YiYin DENG ChengLong WU XiuJie PEI ShuWen 2009Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,2:8

Juvenile hominoid cranium from the terminal Miocene of Yunnan,China显示文摘Fossil apes are known from several late Miocene localities in Yunnan Province, southwestern China, principally from Shihuiba(Lufeng)and the Yuanmou Basin, and represent three species of Lufengpithecus. They mostly comprise large samples of isolated teeth, but there are also several partial or complete adult crania from Shihuiba and a single juvenile cranium from Yuanmou. Here we describe a new, relatively complete and largely undistorted juvenile cranium from the terminal Miocene locality of Shuitangba, also in Yunnan. It is only the second ape juvenile cranium recovered from the Miocene of Eurasia and it is provisionally assigned to the species present at Shihuiba,Lufengpithecus lufengensis.Lufengpithecus has most often been linked to the extant orangutan,Pongo pygmaeus, but recent studies of the crania from Shihuiba and Yuanmou have demonstrated that this is unlikely. The new cranium reinforces the view that Lufengpithecus represents a distinct, late surviving lineage of large apes in the late Miocene of East Asia that does not appear to be closely affiliated with any extant ape lineage. It substantially increases knowledge of cranial morphology in Lufengpithecus and demonstrates that species of this genus represent a morphologically diverse radiation of apes, which is consistent with the dynamic tectonic and biotic milieu of southwestern China in the late Miocene.JI XuePing JABLONSKI Nina G SU Denise F DENG ChengLong FLYNN Lawrence J YOU YouShan KELLEY Jay 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,31:8
Rapid drift of the Tethyan Himalaya terrane before two-stage India-Asia collision显示文摘The India-Asia collision is an outstanding smoking gun in the study of continental collision dynamics. How and when the continental collision occurred remains a long-standing controversy. Here we present two new paleomagnetic data sets from rocks deposited on the distal part of the Indian passive margin, which indicate that the Tethyan Himalaya terrane was situated at a paleolatitude of∼19.4°S at∼75 Ma and moved rapidly northward to reach a paleolatitude of∼13.7°N at∼61 Ma.This implies that the Tethyan Himalaya terrane rifted from India after∼75 Ma,generating the North India Sea.We document a new two-stage continental collision, first at∼61 Ma between the Lhasa and Tethyan Himalaya terranes, and subsequently at∼53−48 Ma between the Tethyan Himalaya terrane and India, diachronously closing the North India Sea from west to east. Our scenario matches the history of India-Asia convergence rates and reconciles multiple lines of geologic evidence for the collision.Jie Yuan Zhenyu Yang Chenglong Deng Wout Krijgsman Xiumian Hu Shihu Li Zhongshan Shen Huafeng Qin Wei An Huaiyu He Lin Ding Zhengtang Guo Rixiang Zhu 2021National Science Review2021,8,7:7
Quaternary integrative stratigraphy and timescale of China显示文摘Quaternary strata in China mainly comprise continental deposits in a variety of depositional settings. The continental Quaternary in temperate northern China consists mainly of eolian and fluvio-lacustrine deposits; that in subtropical southern China, mainly of vermiculated red soils, cave/fissure deposits, and fluvio-lacustrine deposits; and that in the alpine Tibetan Plateau, mainly of fluvio-lacustrine and piedmont deposits. The marine Quaternary in China consists of detrital deposits and biogenic reef deposits. The integration of biostratigraphy, magnetostratigraphy, climatostratigraphy and an astronomically calibrated chronology has led to the establishment of high-precision climatochronostratigraphic timescales for the detrital marine Quaternary in the South China Sea and the loess-paleosol sequence in the Chinese Loess Plateau. Extremely high-precision230 Th dating has provided a high-precision absolute age model for cave stalagmites over the past 640000 years as well as highresolution oxygen isotope records representing orbital-to suborbital-scale climate changes. By combining magnetic stratigraphy and biostratigraphy, robust chronostratigraphic frameworks for non-eolian continental Quaternary deposits on the scale of Quaternary geomagnetic polarities have been established. The continental Pleistocene Series consists, from oldest to youngest,of the Nihewanian Stage of the Lower Pleistocene, the Zhoukoudianian Stage of the Middle Pleistocene, and the Salawusuan Stage of the Upper Pleistocene. Stages of the continental Holocene Series have not yet been established. This review summarizes recent developments in the Quaternary chronostratigraphy of representative Quaternary strata and associated faunas, and then proposes an integrative chronostratigraphic framework and a stratigraphic correlation scheme for Quaternary continental strata in China. In the near-future, it is hoped to establish not only a Chinese continental Quaternary climatochronostratigraphic chart on the scale of glacial-interglacial cycles but also a Quaternary integrative chronostratigraphic chart including both continental and marine strata in China.Chenglong DENG Qingzhen HAO Zhengtang GUO Rixiang ZHU 2019Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,1:7
Orbital-scale Asian summer monsoon variations:Paradox and exploration显示文摘The Asian summer monsoon(ASM) is a vast climate system, whose variability is critical to the livelihoods of billions of people across the Asian continent. During the past half-century, much progress has been made in understanding variations on a wide range of timescales, yet several significant issues remain unresolved. Of note are two long-standing problems concerning orbital-scale variations of the ASM.(1) Chinese loess magnetic susceptibility records show a persistent glacial-interglacial dominated ~100 kyr(thousand years) periodicity, while the cave oxygen-isotope(δ18 O) records reveal periodicity in an almost pure precession band(~20 kyr periodicity)—the 'Chinese 100 kyr problem'.(2) ASM records from the Arabian Sea and other oceans surrounding the Asian continent show a significant lag of 8–10 kyr to Northern Hemisphere summer insolation(NHSI), whereas the Asian cave δ18 O records follow NHSI without a significant lag—a discrepancy termed the 'sea-land precession-phase paradox'. How can we reconcile these differences? Recent and more refined model simulations now provide spatial patterns of rainfall and wind across the precession cycle, revealing distinct regional divergences in the ASM domain, which can well explain a large portion of the disparities between the loess, marine, and cave proxy records. Overall, we also find that the loess, marine, and cave records are indeed complementary rather than incompatible, with each record preferentially describing a certain aspect of ASM dynamics. Our study provides new insight into the understanding of different hydroclimatic proxies and largely reconciles the 'Chinese 100 kyr problem' and 'sea-land precession-phase paradox'.Hai CHENG Haiwei ZHANG Yanjun CAI Zhengguo SHI Liang YI Chenglong DENG Qingzhen HAO Youbing PENG Ashish SINHA Hanying LI Jingyao ZHAO Ye TIAN Jonathan BAKER Carlos PEREZ-MEJIAS 2021Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,4:6
The use of fire at Zhoukoudian:evidence from magnetic susceptibility and color measurements显示文摘In order to provide direct evidence for the use of fire by humans at Locality 1,Zhoukoudian,we examine the burnt and unburnt sediments of newly excavated area in Layer 4 by detailed measurements of magnetic susceptibility, color, and diffuse reflectance spectrum. Results show that the magnetic susceptibility and redness of the burnt sediments are remarkably higher than those of other areas on the same level:up to*22 times for magnetic susceptibility and*3 times for redness of those of the adjacent unburnt sediments.Fine-grained(superparamagnetic/stable single-domain)magnetite and hematite grains make dominant contributions to the distinctly high values of magnetic susceptibility and redness in the burnt sediments.Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy results show that the burnt sediments contain more hematite than those of other areas and localities 2 and 3.High-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements demonstrate that the burnt sediments have been heated above 700°C.Those changes in low-frequency magnetic susceptibility and redness are impossibly resulted from natural fires, thus most likely signaling the human activities of controlled use of fire. However, further work is needed to confirm whether or not these heat-affected sediments were produced in situ.Yan Zhang Zhengtang Guo Chenglong Deng Shuangquan Zhang Haibin Wu Chunxia Zhang Junyi Ge Deai Zhao Qin Li Yang Song Rixiang Zhu 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,10:6
The first Sinomastodon(Gomphotheriidae,Proboscidea) skull from the Quaternary in China显示文摘The first Sinomastodon(Gomphotheriidae,Proboscidea) skull of the Early Pleistocene, collected from the Renzidong Cave deposits in Anhui Province,Eastern China,is described here as S.jiangnanensis sp.nov.As the only brevirostrine trilophodont gomphotheriid known from the Old World,Sinomastodon was mainly indigenous to China from the Early Pliocene to the Pleistocene.Compared with a few single Pleistocene teeth previously found in China,S.jiangnanensis sp.nov.is represented by a relatively complete skull, mandible and dentition, which is the first discovery of a Quaternary Sinomastodon skull from China. With a brevirostrine,elephant-like skull,no lower tusks, and simple bunodont and trilophodont intermediate molars, the new species is morphologically distinct from other gomphotheres and should belong to the genus Sinomastodon. The new species is more progressive than S.hanjiangensis and the Pliocene type species S.intermedius in its skull and mandible morphology, but is evidently more primitive than the Pleistocene S.yangziensis in its molar morphology. The faunal analysis suggests that the emergence of S.jiangnanensis sp.nov.in Jiangnan area and its southward migration may have been related to a cooling event at the beginning of the Quaternary in Eastern China.WANG Yuan JIN ChangZhu DENG ChengLong WEI GuangBiao YAN YaLinga 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,36:5
Fossil leaves of Berhamniphyllum(Rhamnaceae) from Markam,Tibet and their biogeographic implications显示文摘A new occurrence of buckthorn fossil leaves is reported from the upper Eocene strata of Markam Basin, southeastern Tibet,China. The leaf margin is either entire or slightly sinuous.Secondary veins are regularly spaced, forming eucamptodromous venation. These secondaries exist as straight lines from midvein to near margin and then arch abruptly upward and enter into a margin vein. The tertiary veins are densely spaced and parallel, and are percurrent to secondary veins. This leaf architecture conforms with Berhamniphyllum Jones and Dilcher,an extinct fossil genus reported from America. Our fossils are characterized by their dense secondaries, with secondary veins on the upper half portion of the blade accounting for over 40%of all secondaries.A new species,Berhamniphyllum junrongiae Z.K.Zhou,T.X.Wang et J.Huang sp.nov.,is proposed.Further analysis shows that confident assignment among Rhamnidium,Berchemia, and Karwinskia cannot be made based on leaf characters alone.Berhamniphyllum might represent an extinct common ancestor of these genera. In this study, several fossil Berchemia from Yunnan and Shandong are emended and reassigned to Berhamniphyllum.A new complex, namely the Berchemia Complex,is proposed based on morphology, molecular evidence, and the fossil record. This complex contains the fossil leaves of Rhamnidium,Karwinskia,Berchemia, and Berhamniphyllum. The historical biogeography of the Berchemia Complex is also discussed in this paper. This complex might have originated in the late Cretaceous in Colombia,South America, and dispersed to North America via Central America during the Eocene.Subsequently, the complex moved from North America to East Asia via the Bering Land Bridge no later than the late Eocene.Besides, the complex migrated from North America to Europe via the North Atlantic Land Bridge and then migrated further to Africa. In East Asia,it first appeared in Markam on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, and then dispersed to other regions of Asia.Zhekun ZHOU Tengxiang WANG Jian HUANG Jia LIU Weiyudong DENG Shihu LI Chenglong DENG Tao SU 2020Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,2:4
A comparative study of magnetic properties between whole cells and isolated magnetosomes of Magnetospirillum magneticum AMB-1显示文摘The magnetic properties of magnetosome magnetite are of interdisciplinary interest because magnetosomes are potential carriers of natural remanent magnetization and paleoenvironment, as well as novel nano-biomaterials in biotechnological and biomedical applications. We carried out magnetic and electron transmission microscopy analyses of fresh Magnetospirillum magneticum AMB-1 whole cells and isolated magnetosomes. Results revealed that AMB-1 synthesized single-domain magnetite magneto-somes, which are arranged in the form of linear fragmental chain. The distinct differences of magnetic properties between these two samples can be faithfully interpreted in terms of spatial arrangement of magnetosomes and magnetostatic interaction. For the whole cells, the strong intra-chain interactions and weak inter-chain interactions generate behaviors of non-interacting uniaxial single-domain particles. Its δ-ratio is 3.0 and passes the Moskowitz test. In contrast, the isolated magnetosome sample has reduced values of coercivity and δ-ratio (1.5), due to increasing three-dimensional magnetostatic interactions and collapse of magneto-some chains. These observations provide useful insights into applications of the biogenic magnetite (magnetosomes) in magnetic nano-materials and magnetofossils in the paleomagnetic and environmental magnetism.LI JinHua PAN YongXin LIU QingSong QIN HuaFeng DENG ChengLong CHE RenChao YANG XinAn 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,1:3
Fossil seeds of Euryale(Nymphaeaceae) indicate a lake or swamp environment in the late Miocene Zhaotong Basin of southwestern China显示文摘Euryale(Nymphaeaceae) is a monotypic genus distributed in eastern Asia, but fossils in its native distribution are sparse as compared to Europe where the genus has disappeared. Here, we describe a new fossil species, Euryale yunnanensis sp. nov., from the late Miocene Zhaotong Basin in southwestern China on the basis of seed remains. Characteristics including an ellipsoidal to almost spherical shape,a smooth surface, a germination cap that covers the micropyle, the separation of the hilum and germination cap(micropyle), elliptic testa surface cells with undulate margins and thickened cell walls collectively indicate a close affinity with the genus Euryale in Nymphaeaceae. Comparisons ofseed morphology and anatomy demonstrate that the newly described fossil species differs from modern and other fossil species of Euryale and thus verify the assignment to a new fossil species. As the modern Euryale is an aquatic plant, preferably living in swamps and lakes with shallow and stable water, we hypothesize that a lake and/or swamp environment with shallow water was present near Shuitangba in the Zhaotong Basin, where the Shuitangba hominoid lived during the late Miocene. This inference is generally consistent with paleoenvironmental data extracted from avian, fish, frog, turtle and crocodile fossils, as well as from aquatic pollen. The fossil history suggests a comparatively recent(Miocene) emergence of Euryale, which is roughly in agreement with the divergence time inferred from the molecular information.Yongjiang Huang Xueping Ji Tao Su Li Wang Chenglong Deng Wenqi Li Hongfen Luo Zhekun Zhou 2015Science Bulletin2015,60,20:3
Overview of the Solar Polar Orbit Telescope Project for Space Weather Mission显示文摘The Solar Polar ORbit Telescope(SPORT) project for space weather mission has been under intensive scientific and engineering background studies since it was incorporated into the Chinese Space Science Strategic Pioneer Project in 2011.SPORT is designed to carry a suite of remote-sensing and in-situ instruments to observe Coronal Mass Ejections(CMEs),energetic particles, solar high-latitude magnetism, and the fast solar wind from a polar orbit around the Sun.The first extended view of the polar regions of the Sun and the ecliptic enabled by SPORT will provide a unique opportunity to study CME propagation through the inner heliosphere, and the solar high-latitude magnetism giving rise to eruptions and the fast solar wind.Coordinated observations between SPORT and other spaceborne/ground-based facilities within the International Living With a Star(ILWS) framework can significantly enhance scientific output.SPORT is now competing for official selection and implementation during China's 13 th Five-Year Plan period of 2016-2020.XIONG Ming LIU Ying LIU Hao LI Baoquan ZHENG Jianhua ZHANG Cheng XIA Lidong ZHANG Hongxin RAO Wei CHEN Changya SUN Weiying WU Xia DENG Yuanyong HE Han JIANG Bo WANG Yuming WANG Chuanbing SHEN Chenglong ZHANG Haiying ZHANG Shenyi YANG Xuan SANG Peng WU Ji 2016空间科学学报2016,36,3:3
Magnetostratigraphic dating of the Hougou Paleolithic site in the Nihewan Basin,North China显示文摘The fluvio-lacustrine sedimentary sequences in the Nihewan Basin, northern China, are important for studying Quaternary land mammal evolution and Paleolithic settlements in the high-latitude temperate East Asia. Here we report new magnetostratigraphic results that constrain age of the Hougou Paleolithic site in this basin.Magnetite and hematite were identified as carriers of the characteristic remanent magnetizations, with the former being dominant.Magnetic polarity stratigraphy shows that the Hougou sequence recorded the very late Matuyama reverse chron and the Brunhes normal chron. The age of the Hougou Paleolithic site was estimated to be 395 ka based on an averaged rate of sediment accumulation. The combination of our magnetostratigraphy and previously published chronological data for early Paleolithic or human sites in the high-latitude northern China may document a persistent colonization of the hostile high-latitude areas of the eastern Old World during the middle-early Pleistocene.ZUO TianWen CHENG HongJiang LIU Ping XIE Fei DENG ChengLong 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,11:2
Facile self-template fabrication of hierarchical nickel-cobalt phosphide hollow nanoflowers with enhanced hydrogen generation performance显示文摘Developing facile methods to construct hierarchical-structured transition metal phosphides is beneficial for achieving high-efficiency hydrogen evolution catalysts.Herein,a self-template strategy of hydrothermal treatment of solid Ni-Co glycerate nanospheres followed by phosphorization is delivered to synthesize hierarchical Ni Co P hollow nanoflowers with ultrathin nanosheet assembly. The microstructure of Ni Co P can be availably tailored by adjusting the hydrothermal treatment temperature through affecting the hydrolysis process of Ni-Co glycerate nanospheres and the occurred Kirkendall effect.Benefitting from the promoted exposure of active sites and affluent mass diffusion routes, the HER performance of the Ni Co P hollow nanoflowers has been obviously enhanced in contrast with the solid Ni Co P nanospheres. The fabricated Ni Co P hollow nanoflowers yield the current density of 10 m A cmà2at small overpotentials of 95 and 127 m V in 0.5 mol Là1H2SO4and 1.0 mol Là1KOH solution, respectively. Moreover, the two-electrode alkaline cell assembled with the Ni Co P and Ir/C catalysts exhibits sustainable stability for overall water splitting. The work provides a simple but efficient method to regulate the microstructure of transition metal phosphides, which is helpful for achieving high-performance hydrogen evolution catalysts based on solid-state metal alkoxides.Xupo Liu Shaofeng Deng Peifang Liu Jianing Liang Mingxing Gong Chenglong Lai Yun Lu Tonghui Zhao Deli Wang 2019Science Bulletin2019,64,22:2
Single-pixel imaging using physics enhanced deep learning显示文摘Single-pixel imaging(SPI) is a typical computational imaging modality that allows two-and three-dimensional image reconstruction from a one-dimensional bucket signal acquired under structured illumination. It is in particular of interest for imaging under low light conditions and in spectral regions where good cameras are unavailable. However, the resolution of the reconstructed image in SPI is strongly dependent on the number of measurements in the temporal domain.Data-driven deep learning has been proposed for high-quality image reconstruction from a undersampled bucket signal. But the generalization issue prohibits its practical application. Here we propose a physics-enhanced deep learning approach for SPI.By blending a physics-informed layer and a model-driven fine-tuning process,we show that the proposed approach is generalizable for image reconstruction. We implement the proposed method in an in-house SPI system and an outdoor single-pixel LiDAR system, and demonstrate that it outperforms some other widespread SPI algorithms in terms of both robustness and fidelity. The proposed method establishes a bridge between data-driven and model-driven algorithms, allowing one to impose both data and physics priors for inverse problem solvers in computational imaging, ranging from remote sensing to microscopy.FEI WANG CHENGLONG WANG CHENJIN DENG SHENSHENG HAN GUOHAI SITU 2022Photonics Research2022,10,1:2
