1A male-ABCD algorithm for hepatocellular carcinoma risk prediction in HBs Ag carriers显示文摘Objective: Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) development among hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag) carriers shows gender disparity, influenced by underlying liver diseases that display variations in laboratory tests. We aimed to construct a risk-stratified HCC prediction model for HBs Ag-positive male adults.Methods: HBs Ag-positive males of 35-69 years old(N=6,153) were included from a multi-center populationbased liver cancer screening study. Randomly, three centers were set as training, the other three centers as validation. Within 2 years since initiation, we administrated at least two rounds of HCC screening using Bultrasonography and α-fetoprotein(AFP). We used logistic regression models to determine potential risk factors,built and examined the operating characteristics of a point-based algorithm for HCC risk prediction.Results: With 2 years of follow-up, 302 HCC cases were diagnosed. A male-ABCD algorithm was constructed including participant's age, blood levels of GGT(γ-glutamyl-transpeptidase), counts of platelets, white cells,concentration of DCP(des-γ-carboxy-prothrombin) and AFP, with scores ranging from 0 to 18.3. The area under receiver operating characteristic was 0.91(0.90-0.93), larger than existing models. At 1.5 points of risk score,26.10% of the participants in training cohort and 14.94% in validation cohort were recognized at low risk, with sensitivity of identifying HCC remained 100%. At 2.5 points, 46.51% of the participants in training cohort and 33.68% in validation cohort were recognized at low risk with 99.06% and 97.78% of sensitivity, respectively. 2Changes of auditory evoked magnetic fields in patients after acute cerebral infarction using magnetoencephalography显示文摘Auditory evoked magnetic fields were recorded from 15 patients with acute cerebral infarction and 11 healthy volunteers using magnetoencephalography.The auditory stimuli of 2 kHz pure tone were binaurally presented with an interstimulus interval of 1 second.The intensity of stimuli was 90 dB and the stimulus duration was 8 ms.The results showed that the M100 was the prominent response, peaking approximately 100 ms after stimulus onset in all subjects.It originated from the area close to Heschl's gyrus.In the patient group,the peak latency of M100 responses was significantly prolonged,and the mean strength of equivalent current dipole was significantly smaller in the affected hemisphere.The three-dimensional inter-hemispheric difference of the M100 positions was increased in the patient group.Our experimental findings suggested that impairment of cerebral function in patients with acute ischemic stroke can be detected using magnetoencephalography with the higher spatial resolution and temporal resolution.Magnetoencephalography could provide objective and sensitive indices to estimate auditory cortex function in patients with acute cerebral infarction.Zhanyong Sun Chunfeng Song Jilin Sun Ling Li Yanhong Dong Jianhua Wang Jie Wu Wenzhu Cui Yujin Wu Peiyuan Lv 2012Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,24:1

6Rambutan-like hierarchically porous carbon microsphere as electrodematerial for high-performance supercapacitors显示文摘Used as high-performance electrodes,both structural and compositional alterations of carbon materials play very important roles in energy conversion/storage devices.Especially in supercapacitors,hierarchical pores and heteroatom doping in carbon materials are indispensable.Here the rambutan-like hierarchically porous carbon microspheres(PCMs)have been constructed via a hydrothermal treatment,followed by carbonization/activation.The hierarchically porous microstructure is composed of three-dimensional porous carbon networks,which give rise to a large surface area.Moreover,N and O functional groups are introduced in the as-prepared samples,which could generate the extra pseudocapacitance.Benefitting from the interconnected hierarchical and open structure,PCM exhibits outstanding capacitive performance,for example,superior specific capacitance and rate capability(397 and 288 F g^(−1) at 0.5 and 20A g^(−1),respectively),as well as long cycling stability(about 95%capacitance retention after 10,000 cycles).These encouraging results may pave an efficient way to fabricate advanced supercapacitors in the future.Chunfeng Shao Shujun Qiu Guiming Wu Boyang Cui Hailiang Chu Yongjin Zou Cuili Xiang Fen Xu Lixian Sun 2021Carbon Energy2021,3,2:1
7Oscillating chemiluminescence in rhodamine B-induced Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction catalyzed by Ce(Ⅳ)显示文摘It was found that rhodamine B could induce oscillating chemiluminescence (OCL) from the Ce4+-cata-lyzed Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction. This new OCL system, i.e., rhodamine B-malonic acid-bromate-Ce(Ⅳ)-sulfuric acid, exhibited two clearly distinguished emission peaks in each oscillation period. The initial concentrations of the reactants strongly influenced the oscillation pattern. For the study of the CL mechanism, a platform for a versatile and simultaneous potential and CL measurement was estab-lished to compare the potential oscillation with the CL oscillation behavior of this system. The CL spectra, UV-visible absorption spectra and time-resolved fluorescence spectra of this OCL system were studied. A possible, simplified mechanism for the OCL is proposed. It is suggested that the generation of the two CL peaks is likely due to the oxidation of the intermediate of rhodamine B by Ce(Ⅳ) and Br2, respectively. 10A 1-bp deletion in the MC04g1399 is highly associated with failure to produce fruit wart in bitter gourd显示文摘Fruit wart is an important appearance trait influencing consumer preferences of bitter gourd(Momordica charantia L.).The molecular genetic mechanisms underlying fruit wart formation in bitter gourd are largely unknown.In this study,genetic analysis based on four generations showed that fruit wart formation in bitter gourd was controlled by a single dominant locus named as Fwa.The Fwa locus was initially mapped into a 4.82 Mb region on pseudochromosome 4 by BSA-seq analysis and subsequently narrowed down to a 286.30 kb region by linkage analysis.A large F2population consisting of 2360 individuals was used to screen recombinants,and the Fwa locus was finally fine mapped into a 22.70 kb region harboring four protein-coding genes through recombination analysis.MC04g1399,encoding an epidermal patterning factor 2-like protein,was proposed as the best candidate gene for Fwa via sequence variation and expression analysis.In addition,a 1-bp insertion and deletion(InDel)variation within MC04g1399 was converted to a cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence(CAPS)marker that could precisely distinguish between the warty and non-warty types with an accuracy rate of 100%among a wide panel of 126 bitter gourd germplasm resources.Our results not only provide a scientific basis for deciphering the molecular mechanisms underlying fruit wart formation but also provide a powerful tool for efficient genetic improvement of fruit wart via marker-assisted selection.Jia Liu Junjie Cui Jichi Dong Jian Zhong Chunfeng Zhong Fanchong Yuan Wendong Guan Fang Hu Jiaowen Cheng Kailin Hu 2024Horticultural Plant Journal2024,10,1:0
11Gene expression profile analysis reveals the effect of metformin treatment on HepG2 cells显示文摘Metformin is a first-line drug in the fight against type 2 diabetes.In recent years,studies have shown that metformin has some preventive and therapeutic effects on liver cancer,but the effects of metformin on the gene expression of liver cancer cells are not fully known.This study focused on the differences in the gene expression profiles in liver cancer cells treated with or without metformin.A total of 153 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)(FC>2 and q-values<0.001)were found,including 77 upregulated genes and 76 downregulated genes.These DEGs are involved in mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK),nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB),cell adhesion molecules(CAMs),and leukocyte transendothelial migration signaling pathways.These findings reveal the effects of metformin treatment on gene expression profiles in liver cancer cells and provide new clues for unveiling the mechanism of the antitumor effects of metformin.YI HUANG CHUNFENG DOU XUMING HU HENGMI CUI 2022BIOCELL2022,46,4:0
