| 1 | Detecting Isolate Safe Areas in Wireless Sensor Monitoring Systems显示文摘Wireless sensors are deployed widely to monitor space, emergent events, and disasters. Collected realtime sensory data are precious for completing rescue missions quickly and efficiently. Detecting isolate safe areas is significant for various applications of event and disaster monitoring since valuable real-time information can be provided for the rescue crew to save persons who are trapped in isolate safe areas. We propose a centralized method to detect isolate safe areas via discovering holes in event areas. In order to shorten the detection delay, a distributed isolate safe area detection method is studied. The distributed method detects isolate safe areas during the process of event detection. Moreover, detecting isolate safe areas in a building is addressed particularly since the regular detecting method is not applicable. Our simulation results show that the distributed method can detect all isolate safe areas in an acceptable short delay. | Chunyu Ai Frank Haizhon Li Kejia Zhang | 2017 | Tsinghua Science and Technology2017,22,4: | 1 |

| 4 | Personalized surgical recommendations and quantitative therapeutic insights for patients with metastatic breast cancer: Insights from deep learning显示文摘Background:The role of surgery in metastatic breast cancer(MBC)is currently controversial.Several novel statistical and deep learning(DL)methods promise to infer the suitability of surgery at the individual level. Objective:The objective of this study was to identify the most applicable DL model for determining patients with MBC who could benefit from surgery and the type of surgery required. Methods:We introduced the deep survival regression with mixture effects(DSME),a semi-parametric DL model integrating three causal inference methods.Six models were trained to make individualized treatment recommendations.Patients who received treatments in line with the DL models'recommendations were compared with those who underwent treatments divergent from the recommendations.Inverse probability weighting(IPW)was used to minimize bias. The effects of various features on surgery selection were visualized and quantified using multivariate linear regression and causal inference. Results:In total,5269 female patients with MBC were included.DSME was an independent protective factor, outperforming other models in recommending surgery(IPW-adjusted hazard ratio[HR]=0.39,95%confidence interval[CI]:0.19–0.78)and type of surgery(IPW-adjusted HR=0.66,95%CI:0.48–0.93).DSME was superior to other models and traditional guidelines, suggesting a higher proportion of patients benefiting from surgery, especially breast-conserving surgery. The debiased effect of patient characteristics, including age, tumor size, metastatic sites, lymph node status, and breast cancer subtypes,on surgery decision was also quantified. Conclusions:Our findings suggested that DSME could effectively identify patients with MBC likely to benefit from surgery and the specific type of surgery needed. This method can facilitate the development of efficient, reliable treatment recommendation systems and provide quantifiable evidence for decision-making. | Enzhao Zhu Linmei Zhang Jiayi Wang Chunyu Hu Qi Jing Weizhong Shi Ziqin Xu Pu Ai Zhihao Dai Dan Shan Zisheng Ai | 2024 | Cancer Innovation2024,3,3: | 0 |
| 5 | Area Query Processing Based on Gray Code in Wireless Sensor Networks显示文摘Area query processing is significant for various applications of wireless sensor networks since it can request information of particular areas in the monitored environment. Existing query processing techniques cannot solve area queries. Intuitively, centralized processing on Base Station can accomplish area queries via collecting information from all sensor nodes. However, this method is not suitable for wireless sensor networks with limited energy since a large amount of energy is wasted for reporting useless data. This motivates us to propose an energy-efficient in-network area query processing scheme. In our scheme, the monitored area is partitioned into grids, and a unique gray code number is used to represent a Grid ID (GID), which is also an effective way to describe an area. Furthermore, a reporting tree is constructed to process area merging and data aggregations. Based on the properties of GIDs, subareas can be merged easily and useless data can be discarded as early as possible to reduce energy consumption. For energy-efficiently answering continuous queries, we also design an incremental update method to continuously generate query results. In essence, all of these strategies are pivots to conserve energy consumption. With a thorough simulation study, it is shown that our scheme is effective and energy-efficient. | Chunyu Ai Yueming Duan Mingyuan Yan Jing He | 2012 | Tsinghua Science and Technology2012,17,5: | 0 |
| 6 | Eph receptor A4 regulates motor neuron ferroptosis in spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury in rats显示文摘Previous studies have shown that the receptor tyrosine kinase Eph receptor A4(EphA4) is abundantly expressed in the nervous system. The EphA4 signaling pathway plays an important role in regulating motor neuron ferroptosis in motor neuron disease. To investigate whether EphA4 signaling is involved in ferroptosis in spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury, in this study we established a rat model of spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury by clamping the left carotid artery and the left subclavian artery. We found that spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury increased EphA4 expression in the neurons of anterior horn, markedly worsened ferroptosis-related indicators, substantially increased the number of mitochondria exhibiting features consistent with ferroptosis, promoted deterioration of motor nerve function, increased the permeability of the blood-spinal cord barrier, and increased the rate of motor neuron death. Inhibition of EphA4 largely rescued these effects. However, intrathecal administration of the ferroptosis inducer Erastin counteracted the beneficial effects conferred by treatment with the EphA4 inhibitor. Mass spectrometry and a PubMed search were performed to identify proteins that interact with EphA4, with the most notable being Beclin1 and Erk1/2. Our results showed that inhibition of EphA4 expression reduced binding to Beclin1, markedly reduced p-Beclin1, and reduced Beclin1-XCT complex formation. Inhibition of EphA4 also reduced binding to p-Erk1/2 and markedly decreased the expression of c-Myc, transferrin receptor 1, and p-Erk1/2. Additionally, we observed co-localization of EphA4 and p-Beclin1 and of EphA4 and p-ERK1/2 in neurons in the anterior horn. In conclusion, EphA4 participates in regulating ferroptosis of spinal motor neurons in the anterior horn in spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury by promoting formation of the Beclin1-XCT complex and activating the Erk1/2/c-Myc/transferrin receptor 1 axis. | Yan Dong Chunyu Ai Ying Chen Zaili Zhang Dong Zhang Sidan Liu Xiangyi Tong Hong Ma | 2023 | Neural Regeneration Research2023,18,10: | 0 |
