| 1 | Study of ciprofloxacin removal by biochar obtained from used tea leaves显示文摘In this study, used tea leaves(UTLs) were pyrolyzed to obtain used tea-leaf biochar(UTC),and then the UTC was used as an adsorbent to remove ciprofloxacin(CIP) from aqueous solutions.Batch experiments were conducted to investigate the CIP adsorption performance and mechanism. The results showed that the CIP-adsorbing ability first increased and then declined as the UTC pyrolysis temperature increased. The UTC obtained at 450°C presented excellent CIP-absorbing ability at p H 6 and 40°C.The maximum monolayer adsorption capacity was 238.10 mg/g based on the Langmuir isotherm model. The pseudo-second-order kinetic equation agreed well with the CIP adsorption process, which was controlled by both external boundary layer diffusion and intra-particle diffusion. The characterization analysis revealed that the \OH groups,C_C bonds of aromatic rings,C\H groups in aromatic rings and phenolic C\O bonds play vital roles in the CIP adsorption process, and that the N\C,N\O,O\C_O and C\OH groups of UTC were consumed in large quantities.π–π interactions, hydrogen bonding and electrostatic attraction are inferred as the main adsorption mechanisms. The present work provides not only a feasible and promising approach for UTLs utilization but also a potential adsorbent material for removing high concentrations of CIP from aqueous solutions. | Jie Li Guangwei Yu Lanjia Pan Chunxing Li Futian You Shengyu Xie Yin Wang Jianli Ma Xiaofu Shang | 2018 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,11: | 5 |
| 2 | The mechanisms of melanogenesis inhibition by glabridin:molecular docking,PKA/MITF and MAPK/MITF pathways显示文摘Glabridin is the main ingredient of hydrophobic fraction in licorice extract and has been shown to have anti-melanogenesis activity in skins. However, the underlying mechanism(s)remain not completely understood. The aim of this study is thus to elucidate the possible mechanisms related to the melanogenesis suppression by glabridin in cultured B16 murine melanoma cells and in UVA radiation induced hyperpigmentation model of BALB/c mice as well.Molecular docking simulations revealed that between catalytic core residues and the compound. The treatment by glabridin significantly downregulated both transcriptional and/or protein expression of melanogenesis-related factors including melanocyte stimulating hormone receptor(MC1R),microphthalmia-associated transcription factor(MITF),tyrosinase(TYR),TYR-related protein-1(TRP-1)and TRP-2 in B16 cells. Both PKA/MITF and MAPK/MITF signaling pathways were found to be involved in the suppression of melanogenesis by glabridin in B16 cells. Also in vivo glabridin therapy significantly reduced hyperpigmentation, epidermal thickening, roughness and inflammation induced by frequent UVA exposure in mice skins, thus beneficial for skin healthcare. These data further look insights into the molecular mechanisms of melanogenesis suppression by glabridin, rationalizing the application of the natural compound for skin healthcare. | Chunxing Pan Xiaoying Liu Yating Zheng Zejun Zhang Yongliang Li Biao Che Guangrong Liu Lanyue Zhang Changzhi Dong Haji Akber Aisa Zhiyun Du Zhengqiang Yuan | 2023 | Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,1: | 2 |
| 3 | Chromosome-scale genome sequence of Suaeda glauca sheds light on salt stress tolerance in halophytes显示文摘Soil salinity is a growing concern for global crop production and the sustainable development of humanity. Therefore,it is crucial to comprehend salt tolerance mechanisms and identify salt-tolerance genes to enhance crop tolerance to salt stress.Suaeda glauca,a halophyte species well adapted to the seawater environment, possesses a unique ability to absorb and retain high salt concentrations within its cells, particularly in its leaves, suggesting the presence of a distinct mechanism for salt tolerance. In this study,we performed de novo sequencing of the S.glauca genome. The genome has a size of 1.02 Gb(consisting of two sets of haplotypes)and contains 54761 annotated genes, including alleles and repeats.Comparative genomic analysis revealed a strong synteny between the genomes of S.glauca and Beta vulgaris.Of the S.glauca genome,70.56%comprises repeat sequences, with retroelements being the most abundant.Leveraging the allele-aware assembly of the S.glauca genome,we investigated genome-wide allele-specific expression in the analyzed samples. The results indicated that the diversity in promoter sequences might contribute to consistent allele-specific expression. Moreover,a systematic analysis of the ABCE gene families shed light on the formation of S.glauca’s flower morphology, suggesting that dysfunction of A-class genes is responsible for the absence of petals in S.glauca.Gene family expansion analysis demonstrated significant enrichment of Gene Ontology(GO)terms associated with DNA repair, chromosome stability,DNA demethylation, cation binding, and red/far-red light signaling pathways in the co-expanded gene families of S.glauca and S.aralocaspica,in comparison with glycophytic species within the chenopodium family.Time-course transcriptome analysis under salt treatments revealed detailed responses of S.glauca to salt tolerance, and the enrichment of the transition-upregulated genes in the leaves associated with DNA repair and chromosome stability, lipid biosynthetic process, and isoprenoid metabolic process.Additionally,genome-wide analysis of transcription factors indicated a significant expansion of FAR1 gene family. However, further investigation is needed to determine the exact role of the FAR1 gene family in salt tolerance in S.glauca. | Yan Cheng Jin Sun Mengwei Jiang Ziqiang Luo Yu Wang Yanhui Liu Weiming Li Bing Hu Chunxing Dong Kangzhuo Ye Zixian Li Fang Deng Lulu Wang Ling Cao Shijiang Cao Chenglang Pan Ping Zheng Sheng Wang Mohammad Aslam Hong Wang Yuan Qin | 2023 | Horticulture Research2023,10,9: | 0 |
