| 3 | Acoustic characteristics of stop consonants in fluent reading Chinese Putonghua speech of adult stutterers显示文摘This study investigated whether adults who stutter and normal adult speakers differ in the production of stop consonants in fluent reading Chinese Putonghua speech.Voice onset time(VOT) was measured and the spectral moments at the stop burst were calculated for the stutterers(both before and after the speech therapy) and also for the nonstutterers. The statistical results showed that there were no significant differences in VOT between the nonstutterers and stutterers either prior to or after therapy,although the mean VOT of the stutterers was slightly greater than that of the nonstutterers.The results also indicated that both the obstruction place and the subsequent syllabic final exhibited an influence to a greater extent on VOT for the stutterers.In the spectral domain,the spectral mean of the stuttering participants before therapy was significantly different from that of the normal participants, whereas the group difference became insignificant after the therapy session.The smaller spectral mean for the stutterers might be interpreted as a more posterior occlusion in the oral cavity when producing alveolars and velars.In addition,productions of the stutterers scattered with a wider range in the space of spectral moments.Furthermore,the smaller main effect of syllabic finals on the mean spectral frequency of the burst suggested that the stutterers exhibited weaker anticipatory coarticulation than the nonstutterers. | FENG Yongqiang YAN Qian GAO Xinglong PAN Fuping XING Lili LIN Chunlan PAN Jielin | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Acoustics2013,32,3: | 1 |

| 14 | Response of benthic algae to environmental conditions in an urban lake recovered from eutrophication, China显示文摘Benthic algae communities dominate the primary production in littoral zone of shallow lake.To tmderstand the long-term effect of alteration in the composition of benthic algae community assemblage in such as a lake in China,we analyzed the benthic algae developments and indicators in the Donghu Lake in Wuhan,central China in 2004 and 2014.We compared the benthic algae biomass,compositions,and species richness of aquatic macrophytes and the changes of primary physicochemical parameters.The results show that in the 10-year period,chl a and conductivity declined significantly but nutrient level of the whole lake remained largely stable.The benthic algae biomass doubled and the relative proportion of green algae increased,whereas the benthic diatom ratio decreased.The benthic diatom assemblages and taxa differed in a number of ways,showing more epiphytic diatom species,and the relative abundance and species richness changed markedly.The number of aquatic macrophyte species increased from 3 in 2004 to 15 in 2014,presenting a remarkable recovery from previous eutrophication conditions.The changes of water level,chl a,and conductivity played a crucial role in governing aquatic macrophytes re-colonization in the littoral zones in the period.The ecological characteristics of littoral benthic diatoms reflect habitat coupling as indicated by redundancy analysis.Therefore,the close link between benthic algae and macrophyte recovery demonstrates that the benthic algae metrics are much more useful than nutrient levels to quantify the process of restoration in the lake. | WANG Tao WANG Qing XIA Shuang YAN Chunlan PEI Guofeng | 2020 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,1: | 1 |

| 17 | Bifunctional enzyme FBPase/SBPase is essential for photoautotrophic growth in cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp.PCC 6803显示文摘From a random insertion mutant library of Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803,a mutant defective in photoautotrophic growth was obtained. The interrupted gene was identified to be slr2094 (fbp1),which encodes the fructose-1,6-biphosphatase (FBPase)/sedoheptu-lose-1,7-biphosphatase (SBPase) bifunctional enzyme (F-I). Two other independently constructed slr2094 mutants showed an identical phenotype. The FBPase activity was found to be virtually lacking in an slr2094 mutant,which was sensitive to light under mixotrophic growth conditions. These results indicate that slr2094 is the only active FBPase-encoding gene in this cyanobacterium. Inactivation of photosystem Ⅱ by interrupting psbB in slr2094 mutant alleviated the sensitiveness to light. This report provides the direct genetic evi-dence for the essential role of F-I in the photosynthesis of Synechocystis sp. | 18 | Veratrilla baillonii Franch alleviate the symptoms of diabetes in type 2 diabetic rats induced by high-fat diet and streptozotocin显示文摘Our previous research studies have shown that Veratrilla baillonii Franch,a food supplement used by ethnic minorities in Southwest China,has multiple pharmacological activities,such as detoxification,antiinflammatory,antioxidant,and anti-insulin resistance.However,the detailed signal pathways for its salutary effect on damages in multiple organs due to type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)remains unclear.The current study is to evaluate the therapeutic effects of V.baillonii on T2DM rats and to explore the underlying mechanisms.The T2DM rat model was successfully established by a high-sugar and high-fat diet(HFD)combination with intraperitoneal injection of a small dose of streptozotocin(STZ,35 mg/kg).Biochemical analysis and histopatholgical examinations were conducted to evaluate the anti-diabetic potential of water extracts of V.baillonii(WVBF).The results showed that the WVBF treatment can improve hyperglycemia and insulin resistance,ameliorate the liver,kidney and pancreas injuries via decreasing inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNF-α,and oxidative damages.Further investigation suggested that WVBF modulates the signal transductions of the IRS1/PI3K/AKT/GLUT4 and AMPK pathways.These findings demonstrate potentials of WVBF in the treatment of T2DM and possible mechanisms for its hepatoprotective activities. | Chunlan Yan Zhihao Zhang Liqun Ma Xinyi Xu Muhammad Azhar Xianju Huang Jianxun Shi Jun Li | 2024 | Food Science and Human Wellness2024,13,3: | 0 |
| 19 | A forced alignment approach to detect Chinese repetitive stuttering显示文摘A forced alignment based algorithms to detect Chinese repetitive stuttering is studied. According to the features of repetitions in Chinese stuttered speech,improvement solutions are provided based on the previous research findings.First,a multi-span looping forced alignment decoding networks is designed to detect multi-syllable repetitions in Chinese stuttered speech.Second,branch penalty factor is added in the networks to adjust decoding trend using recursive search in order to reduce the error from the complexity of the decoding networks. | 20 | LSM12 facilitates the progression of colorectal cancer by activating the WNT/CTNNB1 signaling pathway显示文摘Aberrant activation of the WNT signaling pathway is a joint event in colorectal cancer(CRC),but the molecular mechanism is still unclear.Recently,RNA-splicing factor LSM12(like-Sm protein 12)is highly expressed in CRC tissues.This study aimed to verify whether LSM12 is involved in regulating CRC progression via regulating the WNT signaling pathway.Here,we found that LSM12 is highly expressed in CRC patient-derived tissues and cells.LSM12 is involved in the proliferation,invasion,and apoptosis of CRC cells,similar to the function of WNT signaling in CRC.Furthermore,protein interaction simulation and biochemical experiments proved that LSM12 directly binds to CTNNB1(also known asβ-Catenin)and regulates its protein stability to affect the CTTNB1-LEF1-TCF1 transcriptional complex formation and the associated WNT downstream signaling pathway.LSM12 depletion in CRC cells decreased the in vivo tumor growth through repression of cancer cell growth and acceleration of cancer cell apoptosis.Taken together,we suggest that the high expression of LSM12 is a novel factor leading to aberrant WNT signaling activation,and that strategies targeting this molecular mechanism may contribute to developing a new therapeutic method for CRC. | YAN ZHUANG CHUNLAN NING PENGFEI LIU YANPENG ZHAO YUE LI ZHENCHI MA LULING SHAN YINGZHE PIAO PENG ZHAO XUN JIN | 2022 | Oncology Research2022,30,6: | 0 |
