| 1 | A universal coherent source for quantum key distribution显示文摘We propose a concept of universal coherent source for quantum key distribution. The weak coherent pulse (WCP) and heralded single photon source (HSPS) are the most common photon sources for state-of-art quantum key distribution (QKD). However, there exists a prominent crossover between the maximal secure distance and the secure key generating rate in short and middle distance if one applies these two sources in a practical decoy state quantum key distribution. It is shown that by combining the heralded pair coherent state (HPCS) photon source and the practical decoy state method together, one can not only strengthen the maximal secure transmission distance, but also improve key generat-ing rate at short and medium distance. Moreover, the advancement in key generating is not confined in the particular protocol utilized and can be easily checked for both BB84 and SARG protocol. | 2 | Experimental Research on Sewage Outfall Diffusers显示文摘The influence of diffuser parameters, including the riser spacing, port number in a riser, injection angle, port arrangement, etc., on the surface initial dilution is experimentally investigated. The relative density difference between the effluent and the sea water in the model is the same as that in the prototype, and the effect of the cross current is simulated by an inverse model technique. Based on the result analysis, the arrangement with more ports in a riser and larger riser spacing is suggested to save construction cost. | 7 | Abscisic acid signaling negatively regulates nitrate uptake via phosphorylation of NRT1.1 by SnRK2s in Arabidopsis显示文摘Nitrogen(N)is a limiting nutrient for plant growth and productivity.The phytohormone abscisic acid(ABA)has been suggested to play a vital role in nitrate uptake in fluctuating N environments.However,the molecular mechanisms underlying the involvement of ABA in N deficiency responses are largely unknown.In this study,we demonstrated that ABA signaling components,particularly the three subclass Ⅲ SUCROSE NON-FERMENTING1(SNF1)-RELATED PROTEIN KINASE 2 S(SnRK2)proteins,function in root foraging and uptake of nitrate under N deficiency in Arabidopsis thaliana.The snrk2.2 snrk2.3 snrk2.6 triple mutant grew a longer primary root and had a higher rate of nitrate influx and accumulation compared with wild-type plants under nitrate deficiency.Strikingly,SnRK2.2/2.3/2.6 proteins interacted with and phosphorylated the nitrate transceptor NITRATE TRANSPORTER1.1(NRT1.1)in vitro and in vivo.The phosphorylation of NRT1.1 by SnRK2 s resulted in a significant decrease of nitrate uptake and impairment of root growth.Moreover,we identified NRT1.1Ser585 as a previously unknown functional site:the phosphomimetic NRT1.1S585 D was impaired in both low-and high-affinity transport activities.Taken together,our findings provide new insight into how plants fine-tune growth via ABA signaling under N deficiency. | Hang Su Tian Wang Chuanfeng Ju Jinping Deng Tianqi Zhang Mengjiao Li Hui Tian Cun Wang | 2021 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,3: | 4 |

| 9 | Neuron stem cell NLRP6 sustains hippocampal neurogenesis to resist stress-induced depression显示文摘Neurogenesis decline in hippocampal dentate gyrus(DG)participates in stress-induced depressive-like behaviors,but the underlying mechanism remains poorly understood.Here,we observed low-expression of NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 6(NLRP6)in hippocampus of stress-stimulated mice,being consistent with high corticosterone level.NLRP6 was found to be abundantly expressed in neural stem cells(NSCs)of DG.Both Nlrp6 knockout(Nlrp6^(-/-))and NSCconditional Nlrp6 knockout(Nlrp6CKO)mice were susceptible to stress,being more likely to develop depressive-like behaviors.Interestingly,NLRP6 was required for NSC proliferation in sustaining hippocampal neurogenesis and reinforcing stress resilience during growing up.Nlrp6 deficiency promoted esophageal cancer-related gene 4(ECRG4)expression and caused mitochondrial dysfunction.Corticosterone as a stress factor significantly down-regulated NLRP6 expression,damaged mitochondrial function and suppressed cell proliferation in NSCs,which were blocked by Nlrp6 overexpression.ECRG4 knockdown reversed corticosterone-induced NSC mitochondrial function and cell proliferation disorders.Pioglitazone,a well-known clinical drug,up-regulated NLRP6 expression to inhibit ECRG4 expression in its protection against corticosterone-induced NSC mitochondrial dysfunction and proliferation restriction.In conclusion,this study demonstrates that NLRP6 is essential to maintain mitochondrial homeostasis and proliferation in NSCs,and identifies NLRP6 as a promising therapeutic target for hippocampal neurogenesis decline linked to depression. | Chuanfeng Tang Qiaona Wang Jingyan Shen Congying Wang Hong Ding Shiyu Wen Fan Yang Ruiqing Jiao Xingxin Wu Jianmei Li Lingdong Kong | 2023 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,5: | 3 |

| 13 | Tonoplast-associated calcium signaling regulates manganese homeostasis in Arabidopsis显示文摘Manganese(Mn)is an essential micronutrient in plants.However,excessive Mn absorption in acidic and waterlogged soils can lead to Mn toxicity.Despite their essential roles in Mn homeostasis,transcriptional and post-transcriptional modifications of Mn transporters remain poorly understood.Here,we demonstrated that high-Mn stress induces an obvious Ca^(2+) signature in Arabidopsis.We identified four calcium-dependent protein kinases,CPK4/5/6/11,that interact with the tonoplast-localized Mn and iron(Fe)transporter MTP8 in vitro and in vivo.The cpk4/5/6/11 quadruple mutant displayed a dramatic high-Mn-sensitive phenotype similar to that of the mtp8 mutant.CPKs phosphorylated the N-terminal domain of MTP8 primarily at the Ser31 and Ser32 residues.Transport assays combined with multiple physiological experiments on phospho-dead variant MTP8^(S31/32A)and phospho-mimetic variant MTP8^(S31/32D)plants under different Mn and Fe conditions suggested that Ser31 and Ser32 are crucial for MTP8 function.In addition,genetic analysis showed that CPKs functioned upstream of MTP8.In summary,we identified a tonoplast-associated calcium signaling cascade that orchestrates Mn homeostasis and links Mn toxicity,Ca^(2+) signaling,and Mn transporters.These findings provide new insight into Mn homeostasis mechanisms and Ca^(2+) signaling pathways in plants,providing potential targets for engineering heavy metal toxicity-tolerant plants. | Zhenqian Zhang Dali Fu Zhihui Sun Chuanfeng Ju Cuicui Miao Zhangqing Wang Dixiang Xie Liang Ma Zhizhong Gong Cun Wang | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,5: | 2 |
| 14 | Two Dimension C_3N_4/MoS_2 Nanocomposites with Enhanced Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution under Visible Light Irradiation显示文摘MoS_2-decorated C_3N_4(C_3N_4/MoS_2) nanosheets hybrid photocatalysts were prepared by a simple sonication-impregnation method. Face-to-face lamellar heterojunctions were well established between two dimension(2D) C_3N_4 and MoS_2 nanosheets. The effects of MoS_2 content on the light absorption, charge transfer and photocatalytic activity of the hybrid samples were investigated. Characterization results show that MoS_2 nanosheets are well anchored on the face of C_3N_4 nanosheets and the composites have well dispersed layered morphology. After loading with MoS_2, the light absorption of composites was much improved, especially in visible-light region. The photocatalytic activities of C_3N_4/MoS_2 samples were evaluated based on the H_2 evolution under visible light irradiation(λ > 400 nm). When the loading amount of MoS_2 was increased to 5 wt%, the highest H_2 evolution rate(274 μmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1)) was obtained. Compared with samples obtained from direct impregnation method, sonication pretreatment is favorable for the formation of 2D layered heterojuctions and thus improve the photocatalytic activity. Slightly deactivation of C_3N_4/MoS_2 composites could be observed when recycled due to the mild photocorrosion of MoS_2. | 15 | Growth Rates of Fine Aerosol Particles at a Site near Beijing in June 2013显示文摘Growth of fine aerosol particles is investigated during the Aerosol–CCN–Cloud Closure Experiment campaign in June2013 at an urban site near Beijing. Analyses show a high frequency(~ 50%) of fine aerosol particle growth events, and show that the growth rates range from 2.1 to 6.5 nm h^(-1) with a mean value of ~ 5.1 nm h^(-1). A review of previous studies indicates that at least four mechanisms can affect the growth of fine aerosol particles: vapor condensation, intramodal coagulation,extramodal coagulation, and multi-phase chemical reaction. At the initial stage of fine aerosol particle growth, condensational growth usually plays a major role and coagulation efficiency generally increases with particle sizes. An overview of previous studies shows higher growth rates over megacity, urban and boreal forest regions than over rural and oceanic regions. | 20 | Discrete element simulation of effects of multicontact loading on single particle crushing显示文摘Particle crushing commonly occurs in granular materials and affects their structures and mechanical properties.Unlike idealized particles in experimental single particle crushing tests with two loading points,natural particles are crushed under multicontact loading.To date,the criteria and patterns of par-ticle crushing under multicontact conditions are not fully understood.By using the three-dimensional discrete element method,this report explores the effect of multicontact loading on the crushing criterion of a single particle,the crushing pattern,and the relationship between the particle crushing strength and loading distribution.The particles are modelled as aggregates of glued Voronoi polyhedra.The numer-ical results indicate that the logarithm of the mean principal stress has a good linear correlation with the coordination number.For a specific coordination number,the number of child particles presents a significant normal distribution.For a specific number of child particles,the volumes of child particles can be statistically described as normal or gamma distribution.Three typical models are proposed to qual-itatively analyse the relationship between the loading distribution and crushing strength.The relevant conclusions can be helpful in engineering practice and in further studies on crushable granular materials via the discrete element method. | Chuanfeng Fang Zhihong Nie Jian Gong Bo Li Wei Hu Ashiru Mohammed | 2022 | Particuology2022,20,10: | 1 |
