Epidemic spreading behavior in local-world evolving networks显示文摘The susceptible-infected-susceptible(SIS)epidemic model is presented which can be used to study the epidemic spreading behavior in the local-world evolving network model.Local-world evolving model displays a transition from the exponential network to the scale-free network with respect to the connectivity distribution. From theoretical analyses and numerical simulations,we find that the epidemic spreading behavior on local-world networks also takes on some kind of transitional behaviors. The transitional behavior is further ver-ified by comparing the spreading behavior of local-world network with that of random and scale-free networks. Some feasible control strategies are also proposed to keep from the epidemic spreading on networks.Chengyi Xia Zhongxin Liu Zengqiang Chen Shiwen Sun Zhuzhi Yuan 2008Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2008,18,6:17

Sleep Deprivation Selectively Down-Regulates Astrocytic 5-HT2B Receptors and Triggers Depressive-Like Behaviors via Stimulating P2X7 Receptors in Mice显示文摘Chronic loss of sleep damages health and disturbs the quality of life.Long-lasting sleep deprivation(SD)as well as sleep abnormalities are substantial risk factors for major depressive disorder, although the underlying mechanisms are not clear. Here,we showed that chronic SD in mice promotes a gradual elevation of extracellular ATP,which activates astroglial P2X7 receptors(P2X7Rs).Activated P2X7Rs,in turn, selectively down-regulated the expression of 5-HT2B receptors(5-HT2BRs)in astrocytes.Stimulation of P2X7Rs induced by SD selectively suppressed the phosphorylation of AKT and FoxO3 a in astrocytes, but not in neurons. The overexpression of FoxO3a in astrocytes inhibited the expression of 5-HT2BRs.Down-regulation of 5-HT2BsRs instigated by SD suppressed the activation of STAT3 and relieved the inhibition of Ca2+-dependent phospholipase A2.This latter cascade promoted the release of arachidonic acid and prostaglandin E2.The depression-like behaviors induced by SD were alleviated in P2X7R-KO mice. Our study reveals the mechanism underlying chronic SD-induced depression-like behaviors and suggests 5-HT2BRs as a key target for exploring therapeutic strategies aimed at the depression evoked by sleep disorders.Maosheng Xia Zexiong Li Shuai Li Shanshan Liang Xiaowei Li Beina Chen Manman Zhang Chengyi Dong Alexei Verkhratsky Dawei Guan Baoman Li 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,11:10

Fused-ring induced end-on orientation in conjugated molecular dyads toward efficient single-component organic solar cells显示文摘The molecular orientations of conjugated materials on the substrate mainly include edge-on,face-on,and end-on.Edge-on and face-on orientations have been widely observed, while end-on orientation has been rarely reported.Since in organic solar cells(OSCs)charge transport is along the vertical direction,end-on orientation with conjugated backbones perpendicular to the substrate is recognized as the ideal microstructure for OSCs.In this work,we for the first time obtained the preferential end-on orientation in a conjugated molecular dyad that contains a conjugated backbone as donor and perylene bisimide side units as acceptor. This was realized by introducing a fused-ring structure to replace linear terthiophenes with conjugated backbones, yielding F-MDPBI and L-MDPBI respectively.Surprisingly,a shifting trend of the molecular orientation from dominating edge-on in L-MDPBI to preferential end-on in F-MDPBI was observed. As a consequence, vertical charge carrier mobilities in F-MDPBI are one order of magnitude higher than those with preferential edge-on orientation,so single-component OSCs based on this molecular dyad as a single photoactive layer provided a power conversion efficiency of 4.89% compared to 1.70% based on L-MDPBI with preferential edge-on orientation.Dongdong Xia Shengxi Zhou Wen Liang Tan Safakath Karuthedath Chengyi Xiao Chaowei Zhao Frédéric Laquai Christopher R.McNeill Weiwei Li 2023Aggregate2023,4,2:0
Epidemic spreading behavior with time delay on local-world evolving networks显示文摘An improved susceptible-infected-susceptible(SIS)model in the local-world evolving network model is presented to study the epidemic spreading behavior with time delay, which is added into the infected phase. The local-world evolving model displays a transition from the exponential network to the scale-free network with respect to the degree distribution. Two typical delay regimes,i.e.,uniform and degree-dependent delays are incorporated into the SIS epidemic model to investigate the epidemic infection processes in the local-world net-work model. The results indicate that the infection delay will promote the epidemic outbreaks, increase the prevalence and reduce the critical threshold of epidemic spreading. It is also found that local-world size M will considerably influence the epidemic spreading behavior with time delay in the local-world network through large-scale numerical simulations.Simulation results are also of relevance to fight epidemic outbreaks.Chengyi XIA Zhongxin LIU Zengqiang CHEN Shiwen SUN Zhuzhi YUAN 2008Frontiers of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in China2008,3,2:0
Higher-order temporal interactions promote the cooperation in the multiplayer snowdrift game显示文摘To explore evolutionary dynamics of collective behaviors within the interconnected population, previous studies usually map non-pairwise interactions to higher-order static networks. However, from human communications to chemical reactions and biological systems, interactions often change over time, which cannot be simply described by higher-order static networks. In this study,we introduce time effects into higher-order networks and correspondingly investigate the evolutionary dynamics of multiplayer snowdrift games on higher-order temporal networks.Specifically, extensive simulations from four empirical datasets reveal that(1)the temporal effect of higher-order networks can facilitate the evolution of cooperation;(2)the higher-order topology can enhance the emergence of cooperation within a certain range of parameters;(3)the contribution of temporal burstiness and participants burstiness to cooperation is reversed.Furthermore,we theoretically demonstrate that the higher-order structure will suppress the propagation of defection in temporal networks. Our findings offer a new avenue for studying the evolution of altruistic behaviors in realistic complex networks.Yan XU Juan WANG Chengyi XIA Zhen WANG 2023Science China(Information Sciences)2023,66,12:0

Spatial prisoner’s dilemma games with increasing size of the interaction neighborhood on regular lattices显示文摘We studied the evolution of cooperation in the prisoner's dilemma game on a square lattice where the size of the interaction neighborhood is considered. Firstly, the effects of noise and the cost-to-benefit ratio on the maintenance of cooperation were investigated. The results indicate that the cooperation frequency depends on the noise and cost-to-benefit ratio: cooperation reaches a climax as noise increases, but it monotonously decreases and even vanishes with the ratio increasing. Furthermore, we investigated how the size of the interaction neighborhood affects the emergence of cooperation in detail. Our study demonstrates that cooperation is remarkably enhanced by an increase in the size of the interaction neighborhood. However, cooperation died out when the size of the interaction neighborhood became too large since the system was similar to the mean-field system. On this basis, a cluster-forming mechanism acting among cooperators was also explored, and it showed that the moderate range of the neighborhood size is beneficial for forming larger cooperative clusters. Finally, large-scale Monte Carlo simulations were carried out to visualize and interpret these phenomena explicitly.Wang Juan Xia ChengYi Wang YiLing Ding Shuai Sun JunQing 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,7:0
