1Sorption removal of cephalexin by HNO_3 and H_2O_2 oxidized activated carbons显示文摘Cephalexin's traces within pharmaceutical effluents have toxic impact toward ecological and human health.Low-cost activated carbon derived from Trapa natans husk was oxidized with hydrogen peroxide and nitric acid,and tested for their ability to remove cephalexin from aqueous solutions.Oxidization with H2O2 showed negative effect on the cephalexin sorption,whereas HNO3 oxidization improved the adsorption.The cephalexin adsorption isotherms on the native and HNO3 oxidized carbons correlated well with the Freundlich equation while their kinetics followed the pseudo-second order model.The removal of cephalexin by the native and HNO3 oxidized carbons was found to be most favored at low ionic strength and strong acidic conditions.Based on the thermal and FTIR analyses,the interaction mechanisms of the interaction between cephalexin and the carbons were proposed.Electrostatic attraction,hydrophobic interaction and chemical bonding with surface functional groups were demonstrated as primary mechanisms for cephalexin removal.The nitrogen functionalities on the carbon surface were considered to be an important factor affecting the adsorption process.LIU WeiFeng XIE HuiJun ZHANG Jian ZHANG ChengLu 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,9:7
2Sorption of norfloxacin from aqueous solutions by activated carbon developed from Trapa natans husk显示文摘The low-cost activated carbon was prepared from a renewable aquatic plant residue,Trapa natans husk,and tested for its ability to remove norfloxacin (NOR) from aqueous solutions. Physical and chemical properties of the Trapa natans husk activated carbon (TAC) were characterized. TAC has a large surface area of 1274 m2/g and mesoporous structure. Carboxylic and hydroxyl groups contributed to the sorption of NOR onto TAC but they were not the most important factors in the sorption process. The rates of adsorption followed the pseudo-second-order kinetics and the overall rate of NOR uptake was controlled by both external mass transfer and intro particle diffusion during the entire adsorption period. The equilibrium data fitted well with the Freundlich and Tempkin models and the sorption was found to be a favorable process. The adsorption of NOR by TAC was strongly dependent on the solution pH. 3Engineered biocontainable RNA virus vectors for non-transgenic genome editing across crop species and genotypes显示文摘CRISPR/Cas genome-editing tools provide unprecedented opportunities for basic plant biology research and crop breeding.However,the lack of robust delivery methods has limited the widespread adoption of these revolutionary technologies in plant science.Here,we report an efficient,non-transgenic CRISPR/Cas delivery platform based on the engineered tomato spotted wilt virus(TSWV),an RNA virus with a host range of over 1000 plant species.We eliminated viral elements essential for insect transmission to liberate genome space for accommodating large genetic cargoes without sacrificing the ability to infect plant hosts.The resulting non-insect-transmissible viral vectors enabled effective and stable in planta delivery of Cas12a and Cas9 nucleases as well as adenine and cytosine base editors.In systemically infected plant tissues,the deconstructed TSWV-derived vectors induced efficient somatic gene mutations and base conversions in multiple crop species with little genotype dependency.Plants with heritable,bi-allelic mutations could be readily regenerated by culturing the virus-infected tissues in vitro without antibiotic selection.Moreover,we showed that antiviral treatment with ribavirin during tissue culture cleared the viral vectors in 100%of regenerated plants and further augmented the recovery of heritable mutations.Because many plants are recalcitrant to stable transformation,the viral delivery system developed in this work provides a promising tool to overcome gene delivery bottlenecks for genome editing in various crop species and elite varieties.Qian Liu Chenglu Zhao Kai Sun Yinlu Deng Zhenghe Li 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,3:2

5Local singularity and S–A methods for analyzing ore-producing anomalies in the Jianbiannongchang area of Heilongjiang,China显示文摘The Heilongjiang Jianbiannongchang area is located at the confluence of the Great and Lesser Xing’an Ranges.This area has a complex magmatic and tectonic evolutionary history that has resulted in a complex and diverse geological background for mineralization.In this study,isometric logarithmic ratio(ILR)transformations of Au,Cu,Pb,Zn,and Sb contents were performed in the1:50,000 soil geochemical data of the Jianbiannongchang area.Robust principal component analysis(RPCA)was conducted based on ILR transformation.The local singularity and spectrum-area(S-A)methods were used to extract information on mineralogic anomalies.The results showed that:(1)the transformed data eliminated the influence of the original data closure effect,and the PC1and PC2 information obtained by applying RPCA reflected ore-producing element anomalies dominated by Au and Cu.(2)The local singularity method can enhance the information of the local strong and weak slow anomalies.After performing local singularity analysis on PC1 and PC2,the obtained local anomalies reflected the local singularity spatial anomaly patterns related to Cu and Au mineralization in this area,which is an effective method for trapping ore-producing anomalies.(3)Furthermore,the composite anomaly decomposition of PC1 and PC2 was performed using the S-A method,and the screened anomalous and background fields reflect the ore-producing anomalies related to Cu and Au mineralization.This information is in agreement with known Cu and Au mineralization.(4)The geochemical anomalies with mineralization potential were obtained outside the known mineralization sites by integrating the information of oreproducing anomalies extracted by the local singularity and S-A methods,providing the theoretical basis and exploration direction for future exploration in the study area.Zhonghai Zhao Kai Qiao Yiwen Liu Xiaomeng Cui Binbin Cheng Shanshan Liang Chenglu Li 2023Acta Geochimica2023,42,2:1

7Recent Progress of Synchrotron X-Ray Imaging and Diffraction on the Solidification and Deformation Behavior of Metallic Materials显示文摘Characterizing the microstructure and deformation mechanism associated with the performances and properties of metallic materials is of great importance in understanding the microstructure-property relationship.The past few decades have witnessed the rapid development of characterization techniques from optical microscopy to electron microscopy,although these conventional methods are generally limited to the sample surface because of the intrinsic opaque nature of metallic materials.Advanced synchrotron radiation(SR)facilities can produce X-rays with strong penetrability and high spatiotemporal resolution,and thereby enabling the non-destructive visualization of full-field structural information in three dimensions.Tremendous endeavors were devoted to the 3 rd generation SR over the past three decades,in which X-ray beams have been focused down to 100 nm.In this paper,recent progresses on SR-related characterization technologies were reviewed,with particular emphases on the fundamentals of synchrotron X-ray imaging and synchrotron X-ray diffraction,as well as their applications in the in situ observations of material preparation(e.g.,in situ dendrite growth during solidification)and service under extreme environment(e.g.,in situ mechanics).Future innovations toward next-generation SR and newly emerging SRbased technologies such as dark-field X-ray microscopy and Bragg coherent X-ray diffraction imaging were also advocated.Youhong Peng Kesong Miao Wei Sun Chenglu Liu Hao Wu Lin Geng Guohua Fan 2022Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2022,35,1:0

9Investigation of SiGe-on-Insulator Novel Structure显示文摘SiGe-on-Insulator (SGOI) is an ideal substrate material for realizing strained-silicon structures that are very competing and popular in present silicon technology. In this paper, two methods are proposed to fabricate SGOI novel structure. One is modified Separation by Implantation of Oxygen (SIMOX) starting from pseuodomorphic SiGe thin film without graded SiGe buffer layer. Results show that two-step annealing can improve the cystallinity quality of SiGe and block the Ge diffusion in high temperature annealing. SGOI structure with good quality has been obtained through two-step annealing. The second method is proposed to achieve SGOI with high content of Ge. High quality strained relax SiGe is grown on a compliant silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrate by UHCVD firstly. During high temperature oxidation,Ge atoms diffuse into the top Si layer of SOI. 11Fatigue Life Prediction of Gray Cast Iron for Cylinder Head Based on Microstructure and Machine Learning显示文摘Conventional fatigue tests on complex components are difficult to sample,time-consuming and expensive.To avoid such problems,several popular machine learning(ML)algorithms were used and compared to predict fatigue life of gray cast iron(GCI)with the complex microstructures.The feature analysis shows that the fatigue life of GCI is mainly influenced by the external environment such as the stress amplitude,and the internal microstructure parameters such as the percentage of graphite,graphite length,stress concentration factor at the graphite tip,matrix microhardness and Brinell hardness.For simplicity,collected datasets with some of the above features were used to train ML models including back-propagation neural network(BPNN),random forest(RF)and eXtreme gradient boosting(XGBoost).The comparison results suggest that the three models could predict the fatigue lives of GCI,while the implemented RF algorithm is the best performing model.Moreover,the S–N curves fitted by the Basquin relation in the predicted data have a mean relative error of 15%compared to the measured data.The results have demonstrated the advantages of ML,which provides a generic way to predict the fatigue life of GCI for reducing time and cost.Xiaoyuan Teng Jianchao Pang Feng Liu Chenglu Zou Xin Bai Shouxin Li Zhefeng Zhang 2023Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2023,36,9:0
12Mechanical Properties and Corrosion Behavior of Multi-Microalloying Mg Alloys Prepared by Adding AlCoCrFeNi Alloy显示文摘In this work,a series of multi-microalloying Mg alloys with a high degradation rate and high strength was prepared by adding AlCoCrFeNi HEA particles to the Mg melt followed by hot extrusion.The microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of the alloys were studied,meanwhile,the corrosion properties were evaluated by immersion weight loss and electrochemical tests.Results indicated that HEA particles in the Mg melt were decomposed and formed the Ni-rich phase,which was distributed uniformly in the Mg matrix.Compared with the pure Mg matrix,the Mg-3 HEA alloy exhibited excellent mechanical properties of the ultimate tensile strength~237 MPa and tensile yield strength~181 MPa,an increased rate of~49.1 and~96.7%,respectively,without sacrificing the elongation.And the ultimate compressive strength(UCS)and compressive yield strength increased by~31.5 and~43%to 392±3 and 103±2 MPa,respectively.Based on theoretical analysis,the high YS of the alloys was mainly attributed to fine-grain strengthening and second phase strengthening.Besides,based on the study of corrosion behavior,it was found that with the increase in HEA particle content,the degradation rate of the composites increased because of the promotion of micro-galvanic corrosion,and the Mg-3 HEA alloy showed a maximum degradation rate of~25.2 mg cmh.Xiong Zhou Qichi Le Chenglu Hu Ruizhen Guo Tong Wang Chunming Liu Dandan Li Xiaoqiang Li 2022Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2022,35,8:0
