MYC2, MYC3, and MYC4 function additively in wounding-induced jasmonic acid biosynthesis and catabolism显示文摘Jasmonic acid(JA)plays a critical role in plant defenses against insects and necrotrophic fungi.Wounding or lepidopteran insect feeding rapidly induces a burst of JA in plants, which usually reaches peak values within 1 to 2 h.The induced JA is converted to JA-Ile and perceived by the COI1-JAZ co-receptor,leading to activation of the transcription factors MYC2 and its homologs, which further induce JA-responsive genes.Although much is known about JA biosynthesis and catabolism enzymes and JA signaling, how JA biosynthesis and catabolism are regulated remain unclear. Here,we show that in Arabidopsis thaliana MYC2 functions additively with MYC3 and MYC4 to regulate wounding-induced JA accumulation by directly binding to the promoters of genes function in JA biosynthesis and catabolism to promote their transcription.MYC2 also controls the transcription of JAV1 and JAM1,which are key factors controlling JA biosynthesis and catabolism, respectively. In addition,we also found that MYC2 could bind to the MYC2 promoter and self-inhibit its own expression. This work illustrates the central role of MYC2/3/4 in controlling wounding-induced JA accumulation by regulating the transcription of genes involved in JA biosynthesis and catabolism. | Cuiping Zhang Yunting Lei Chengkai Lu Lei Wang Jianqiang Wu | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,8: | 6
ZnCo2O4/ZnO induced lithium deposition in multi-scaled carbon/nickel frameworks for dendrite-free lithium metal anode显示文摘Lithium metal attracts growing attention as an ideal anode candidate for next generation lithium battery systems owing to its high capacity, low density, and low working potential. However, the volume expansion of the bulk and dendrite growth on the surface of lithium anode limits its practical application.Herein,we fabricate a composite lithium host featuring both multiple scaled structure and lithiophilic property to address obstacles at both aspects of bulk and surface simultaneously. In which, the multiple scaled structure provides void space to accommodate lithium volume change while zinc and cobalt oxides sites derived from Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks can react with lithium and form a stable solid electrolyte interphase, leading to a stable cycling of lithium symmetrical cell for more than 500 cycles with voltage hysteresis of only 88 mV at 2 mAcm^-2 and 5 mAh cm^-2.Moreover,full cells paired with LiFePO4 cathode can realize 500 cycles with 99.2%capacity retention, showing great potential for practical applications. The excellent electrochemical performance of the composite lithium anode proves the effectiveness of our anode design with multiple scaled structure and lithiophilic feature, which can be also expanded to other metal anodes for batteries. | Kai Wu Binglu Zhao Chengkai Yang Qian Wang Wen Liu Henghui Zhou | 2020 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,4: | 4
A multi-axis robot-based bioprinting system supporting natural cell function preservation and cardiac tissue fabrication显示文摘Despite the recent advances in artificial tissue and organ engineering, how to generate large size viable and functional complex organs still remains as a grand challenge for regenerative medicine.Three-dimensional bioprinting has demonstrated its advantages as one of the major methods in fabricating simple tissues, yet it still faces difficulties to generate vasculatures and preserve cell functions in complex organ production. Here,we overcome the limitations of conventional bioprinting systems by converting a six degree-of-freedom robotic arm into a bioprinter, therefore enables cell printing on 3D complex-shaped vascular scaffolds from all directions. We also developed an oil bath-based cell printing method to better preserve cell natural functions after printing.Together with a self-designed bioreactor and a repeated print-and-culture strategy, our bioprinting system is capable to generate vascularized, contractible, and long-term survived cardiac tissues.Such bioprinting strategy mimics the in vivo organ development process and presents a promising solution for in vitro fabrication of complex organs. | Zeyu Zhang Chenming Wu Chengkai Dai Qingqing Shi Guoxin Fang Dongfang Xie Xiangjie Zhao Yong-Jin Liu Charlie CLWang Xiu-Jie Wang | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,12: | 4
Circulating Current Suppression for MMC-HVDC Systems with Asymmetric Arm Impedance显示文摘The modular multilevel converter(MMC)has been a highly promising topology in the high-voltage direct-current(HVDC)transmission area, where each arm of the MMC may consist of hundreds of series-connected submodules and an inductor.Due to its parameter inaccuracy, component aging, and so on,the component parameter in different arms of the MMC may be different, which may cause circulating current in the MMC-HVDC transmission system, and result in current deterioration, power losses, and electromagnetic interference, etc. In this paper, the circulating current suppressing(CCS)in the MMC-HVDC system, due to asymmetric arm impedance,is analyzed.Based on the mathematical analysis,a method of using an auxiliary circuit is proposed for the MMC to realize the CCS and improve the performance of the MMC-HVDC system.Simulation studies are conducted with PSCAD/EMTDC in the HVDC system, which confirms the feasibility of the proposed method. | Fujin Deng Qian Heng Chengkai Liu Yongqing Lyu Qingsong Wang Dan Liu Rongwu Zhu | 2021 | CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2021,7,3: | 3
Experimental study and simulation of a three-phase flow stirred bioreactor显示文摘In order to obtain the reasonable operating conditions and minimize the power consumption in the stirred bioreactor, the hydrodynamic experiments in the stirred bioreactor have been taken to obtain the basic data. Subsequently, an Eulerian model for the gas–liquid–solid three phase flow in the stirred bioreactor has been proposed and the CFD simulation has been conducted. By comparing the results of experiment and simulation, it can be concluded that the simulation results were consistent with the experimental data. The inner relationship between operating variables and indicators could be obtained by comparing the results of just suspension speed, gas holdup, power consumption and operational maps, further the reasonable operating conditions could be also determined under the minimum power consumption. The operational maps could provide the theoretical foundation for industrial application of the gas–liquid–solid stirred bioreactors under the low solid concentration(no more than 20 wt%). | Chenghui Zheng Jiashun Guo Chengkai Wang Yuanfeng Chen Huidong Zheng Zuoyi Yan Qinggen Chen | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2019,27,3: | 2
Interwoven nickel(II)-dimethylglyoxime nanowires in 3D nickel foam for dendrite-free lithium deposition显示文摘Metal skeletons, such as Nickel Foam(NF) has attracted worldwide interests as stable host for lithium metal anode because of its high stability, large specific surface area and high conductivity. However, most metal skeletons have lithophobic surface and uneven current distribution that result in sporadic lithium nucleation and uncontrolled dendrites growth.Herein,we describe a sequential immersing strategy to generate interwoven Nickel(Ⅱ)-dimethylglyoxime(Ni-DMG) nanowires at NF to obtain composite skeleton(NDNF),which can be used as an stable host for Li metal storage. The Ni-DMG has proved effective to realize uniform lithium nucleation and dendrite-free lithium deposition.Combing with the three dimensional(3 D) hierarchical porous structure, the composite host shows a significantly improved coulombic efficiency(CE) than pristine commercial nickel foam. Moreover, the corresponding Li‖Li symmetrical cells can run more than 700 h with low voltage hysteresis 22 mV at 1.0 mA/cm^(2),and Li@NDNF‖LiFePO;full-cell exhibits a high capacity retention of 82.03% at 1.0 C during 630 cycles. These results proved the effectiveness of metal-organic complexes in governing Li metal growth and can be employed as a new strategy for dendrite-free Li metal anode and safe Li metal batteries(LMBs). | Tianyi Zhou Yanlu Mu Jianyang Wu Bing Zhong Chengkai Yang Qian Wang Wen Liu Henghui Zhou Peng Jiang | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,4: | 1
Harmonic Circulating Current Injection Based Power Loss Optimization Control of Bottom Switch/Diodes for Modular Multilevel Converters显示文摘Power loss management is one of the most significant challenges for reliability improvement of modular multilevel converters(MMCs).In the MMC,the bottom switch/diode in each submodule(SM)normally takes the maximum power loss.In this paper,a power loss optimization control(PLOC)for MMCs is proposed, where the maximum power losses in the bottom switch/diode of each SM can be effectively reduced through injecting optimum second-order harmonic current into the circulating current of MMCs,and accordingly the reliability of MMCs can be improved by the proposed PLOC.Simulation results with PSCAD software and experimental results with a 1 kW MMC platform are provided to confirm the validity of the proposed PLOC for MMCs. | Jifeng Zhao Fujin Deng Chengkai Liu Qiang Yu Qingsong Wang Jianzhong Zhang | 2021 | CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2021,7,6: | 1
Leap of Li Metal Anodes from Coin Cells to Pouch Cells:Challenges and Progress显示文摘Li metal anodes have attracted tremendous attention in the last decade because of their high theoretical capacities and low electrochemical potentials. However, until now, there has only been limited success in improving the interfacial and structural stabilities and in realizing the highly controllable and large-scale fabrication of this emerging material;these limitations have posed great obstacles to further performing fundamental and applied studies in Li metal anodes. In this review,we focus on summarizing the existing challenges of Li metal anodes based on the leap from coin cells to pouch cells and on outlining typical methods for designing Li metal anodes on demand;we controllably engineer their surface protection layers and structure sizes by encapsulating structured Li metal inside a variety of synthetic protection layers. We aim to provide a comprehensive understanding and serve as a strategic guide for designing and fabricating practicable Li metal anodes for use in pouch batteries.Challenges and opportunities regarding this burgeoning field are critically evaluated at the end of this review. | Qian Wang Tiantian Lu Yuanbin Xiao Jianyang Wu Lixiang Guan Lifeng Hou Huayun Du Huan Wei Xiaoda Liu Chengkai Yang Yinghui Wei Henghui Zhou Yan Yu | 2023 | Electrochemical Energy Reviews2023,6,1: | 0
Improving luminescence and thermometric performance of Ba_(2)CaWO_(6):Er^(3+) by tri-doping with Yb^(3+) and Na^(+)显示文摘The Er3+doped double perovskite Ba_(2)CaWO_(6) crystal is a promising ratiometric thermometer based on the fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR) of transitions from ^(2)H_(11/2) and ^(4)S_(3/2) to the lowered ^(4)I_(15/2) level. However, the Ca^(2+) vacancy defect caused by the charge difference between rare-earth ions and the substituted alkaline-earth ions gives rise to the non-radiative probability and limits the thermal sensitivity. Here, the up-conversion luminescence and thermometric performance of Er^(3+),Yb^(3+) dopedBa_(2)CaWO_(6) are tuned by tri-doping with alkaline ions. The Ca^(2+) vacancy defect can be eliminated by the introduction of Na^(+),which occupies the Ca^(2+) site when it is doped into Ba_(2)CaWO_(6) with Er^(3+) and Yb^(3+).On the contrary, the doping of Cs^(+) into Ba_(2)CaWO_(6) with Er^(3+) and Yb^(3+) enhances the defect concentration because it occupies the site of Ba^(2+).Thus,the tri-doping of Na^(+) reduces the non-radiative probability and enhances the quantum efficiency of Er^(3+),leading to the improvement of the thermometric sensitivity of Ba_(2)CaWO_(6).As a result,we get an excellent thermometric Ba_(2)CaWO_(6):8%Yb^(3+),3.5%Er^(3+),6%Na^(+) powder with a luminescence lifetime of 515 μs and maximum thermal sensitivity(S_(r)) of 1.45%/K,which is more than three times higher than that of the BCWO:Er^(3+) powder. | Lingyun Li Ziwei Zhou Fazheng Huang Senlin Peng Yantang Huang Guoqiang Wang Xinxu Li Fei-Fei Chen Chengkai Yang Xin-Xiong Li Yan Yu | 2023 | Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,1: | 0
Chalcogen-dependent catalytic properties of RuX2 (X = S/Se/Te) nanoparticles decorated carbon nanofibers for hydrogen evolution in acidic and alkaline media显示文摘Transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs),with the general formula MX_(2)(M=Mo/W/Fe/Co/Ni,etc.;X=S/Se/Te),have attracted extensive research interests for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Compared with numerous studies on noble-metal-free TMDs,the chalcogen-dependent HER catalytic properties of noble-metal-based TMDs are lack of sufficient research attention.Herein,a facile electrospinning-assisted synthetic strategy is proposed to synthesize ruthenium dichalcogenides(RuX_(2),X=S/Se/Te)nanoparticles decorated carbon nanofibers(CNFs).Benefiting from the identical nanofibrous morphology and exposed crystal planes of RuX_(2)(111),the catalytic activities of RuX_(2)@CNFs samples were investigated and compared in a fair and direct manner.Detailed electrochemical measurements coupled with density functional theory calculations were carried out to probe their intrinsic HER catalytic activities, resulting in the catalytic activity order of RuS_(2)@CNFs>RuSe_(2)@CNFs>RuTe_(2)@CNFs in acidic media and that of RuS_(2)@CNFs>RuTe_(2)@CNFs>RuSe_(2)@CNFs in alkaline media. The superior catalytic performance of RuS_(2)@CNFs mainly stems from the relative lower HER energy barriers and thereby the higher intrinsic catalytic activity of RuS_(2)(111),leading to ultralow overpotentials of 44 and 9 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2) in acidic and alkaline media,respectively.RuSe_(2)(111)is endowed with the more optimized Gibbs free energy of hydrogen adsorption(ΔGH*)than RuTe_(2)(111),but RuTe_(2)(111)shows enhanced catalytic property for H_(2)O dissociation and OH-desorption than RuSe_(2)(111),therefore,resulting in the altered catalytic activity sequences for RuSe_(2) and RuTe_(2) in acidic and alkaline media. | Chengkai He Yue Wei Jia Xu Yujie Wei Tao Wang Rongfei Liu Lvlv Ji Zhun Liu Sheng Wang | 2024 | Nano Research2024,17,4: | 0
A biomaterial-based therapy for lower limb ischemia using Sr/Si bioactive hydrogel that inhibits skeletal muscle necrosis and enhances angiogenesis显示文摘Muscle necrosis and angiogenesis are two major challenges in the treatment of lower-limb ischemic diseases. In this study,a triple-functional Sr/Si-containing bioceramic/alginate composite hydrogel with simultaneous bioactivity in enhancing angiogenesis, regulating inflammation, and inhibiting muscle necrosis was designed to treat lower-limb ischemic diseases. In particular, sodium alginate, calcium silicate and strontium carbonate were used to prepare injectable hydrogels, which was gelled within 10 min.More importantly, this composite hydrogel sustainedly releases bioactive Sr^(2+)and SiO_(3)^(2-) ions within 28 days. The biological activity of the bioactive ions released from the hydrogels was verified on HUVECs,SMCs,C2C12 and Raw 264.7 cells in vitro, and the therapeutic effect of the hydrogel was confirmed using C57BL/6 mouse model of femoral artery ligation in vivo. The results showed that the composite hydrogel stimulated angiogenesis, developed new collateral capillaries, and re-established the blood supply. In addition, the bioactive hydrogel directly promoted the expression of muscle-regulating factors(MyoG and MyoD)to protect skeletal muscle from necrosis, inhibited M1 polarization, and promoted M2 polarization of macrophages to reduce inflammation, thereby protecting skeletal muscle cells and indirectly promoting vascularization. Our results indicate that these bioceramic/alginate composite bioactive hydrogels are effective biomaterials for treating hindlimb ischemia and suggest that biomaterial-based approaches may have remarkable potential in treating ischemic diseases. | Ye Yuan Zhaowenbin Zhang Fandi Mo Chen Yang Yiren Jiao Enci Wang Yuchong Zhang Peng Lin Chengkai Hu Weiguo Fu Jiang Chang Lixin Wang | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,8: | 0
