1Growth and physiological responses of Agriophyllum squarrosum to sand burial stress显示文摘Agriophyllum squarrosum is an annual desert plant widely distributed on mobile and semi-mobile dunes in all the sandy deserts of China. We studied the growth and physiological properties of A. squarrosum seedlings under different sand burial depths in 2010 and 2011 at Horqin Sandy Land, Inner Mongolia to understand the ability and mechanism that A. squarrosum withstands sand burial. The results showed that A. squarrosum had a strong ability to withstand sand burial. Its survival rate, plant height and biomass increased significantly at a burial depth 25% of seedling height and decreased significantly only when the burial depth exceeded the height of the seedlings; some plants still survived even if the burial depth reached 266% of a seedling height. The malondialdehyde(MDA) content and membrane permeability of the plant did not change significantly as long as the burial depth was not greater than the seedling height; lipid peroxidation increased and cell membranes were damaged if the burial depth was increased further. When subjected to sand burial stress, superoxide dismutase(SOD) and peroxidase(POD) activities and free proline content increased in the seedlings, while the catalase(CAT) activity and soluble sugar content decreased. Sand burial did not lead to water stress. Reductions in photosynthetic area and cell membrane damage caused by sand burial may be the major mechanisms increasing mortality and inhibiting growth of the seedling. 4SSR markers development and their application in genetic diversity evaluation of garlic(Allium sativum)germplasm显示文摘Garlic(Allium sativum),an asexually propagated vegetable and medicinal crop,has abundant genetic variation.Genetic diversity evaluation based on molecular markers has apparent advantages since their genomic abundance,environment insensitivity,and non-tissue specific features.However,the limited number of available DNA markers,especially SSR markers,are insufficient to conduct related genetic diversity assessment studies in garlic.In this study,4372 EST-SSR markers were newly developed,and 12 polymorphic markers together with other 17 garlic SSR markers were used to assess the genetic diversity and population structure of 127 garlic accessions.The averaged polymorphism information content(PIC)of these 29 SSR markers was 0.36,ranging from 0.22 to 0.49.Seventy-nine polymorphic loci were detected among these accessions,with an average of 3.48 polymorphic loci per SSR.Both the clustering analyses based on either the genotype data of SSR markers or the phenotypic data of morphological traits obtained genetic distance divided the 127 garlic accessions into three clusters.Moreover,the Mantel test showed that genetic distance had no significant correlations with geographic distance,and weak correlations were found between genetic distance and the phenotypic traits.AMOVA analysis showed that the main genetic variation of this garlic germplasm collection existed in the within-population or cluster.Results of this study will be of great value for the genetic/breeding studies in garlic and enhance the utilization of these garlic germplasms.Xiaxia Li Lijun Qiao Birong Chen Yujie Zheng Chengchen Zhi Siyu Zhang Yupeng Pan Zhihui Cheng 2022Plant Diversity2022,44,5:2
5A Novel Dynamic Obstacle Avoidance Algorithm Based on Collision Time Histogram显示文摘Robot path planning in uncertain dynamic environment is a hot issue in the field of Unmanned ground vehicle(UGV).Starting from the practical demands of UGV,we propose a novel dynamic obstacle avoidance algorithm based on Collision time histogram(CTH).Given current steering angle,an effective collision check model,which is called Collision check circles(CCC),is firstly calculated.The local environment information is then combined with CCC to generate the proposed CTH.The nonholonomic nature of the vehicle is embedded in this process.Finally,the proposed algorithm calculates the executing steering angle by considering both the CTH and the target point.Extensive experiments and comparisons are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm.Simulation experiments are firstly conducted to verify its feasibility.Furthermore,real-world experiment is conducted to verify its effectiveness.Experimental results demonstrate the practical value of the proposed algorithm.ZHUGE Chengchen CAI Yunfei TANG Zhenmin 2017Chinese Journal of Electronics2017,26,3:2
6Linearity analysis of closed-loop capacitive accelerometer due to distance mismatch between plates and the influence of compensation capacitor array显示文摘This paper presents mathematical formulae showing that the distance mismatch for an uncentered proof mass in an accelerator sensor does not influence the linearity of the closed-loop accelerometer as a whole.This asymmetry in sensors only introduces an output voltage offset in the readout integrated circuit.Numerical simulation using Matlab/Simulink confirms the mathematical conclusion.The linear response after compensation with a conventional capacitor array is also simulated and analyzed.Results show that there is a loss in linearity.Similar results hold not only for the continuous-time architecture,but also for a time-divided architecture.A readout integrated circuit with a time-divided architecture is designed and fabricated using a 0.35μm HV CMOS process.An accelerometer composed of a microelectromechanical system sensor with severe built-in distance mismatch and the designed readout integrated circuit is tested.Test results show that the nonlinearity of such accelerometer is within 0.3%.HUANG JingQing ZHAO Meng ZHANG TingTing CHEN ZhongJian HONG LiChen WU Feng ZHANG YaCong LU WenGao GAO ChengChen HAO YiLong 2014Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,6:2
7Predictive model of blood-brain barrier penetration of organic compounds显示文摘Aim: To build up a theoretical model of organic compounds for the prediction of the activity of small molecules through the blood-brain barrier (BBB) in drug design. Methods: A training set of 37 structurally diverse compounds was used to construct quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) models. Intermolecular and intramolecular solute descriptors were calculated using molecular mechanics, molecular dynamics simulations, quantum chemistry and so on. The QSAR models were optimized using multidimensional linear regression fitting and stepwise method. A test set of 8 compounds was evaluated using the models as part of a validation process. Results: Significant QSAR models (R=0.955, s=0.232) of the BBB penetration of organic compounds were constructed. BBB penetration was found to depend upon the polar surface area, the octanol/water partition coefficient, Balaban Index, the strength of a small molecule to combine with the membrane-water complex, and the changeability of the structure of a solute-membrane-water complex. Conclusion: The QSAR models indicate that the distribution of organic molecules through BBB is not only influenced by organic solutes themselves, but also relates to the properties of the solute-membrane-water complex, that is, interactions of the molecule with the phospholipid-rich regions of cellular membranes.Xiao-leiMA ChengCHEN,JieYANG 2005Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2005,26,4:2

13Chemical Modification of Silk Proteins: Current Status and Future Prospects显示文摘Silk extracted from the cocoon of silkworm has been used as textile materials for thousands of years.Recently,silk has been redefined as a protein-based biomaterial with great potential in biomedical applications owing to its excellent mechanical properties,biocompatibility,and biodegradability.With the advances in silk processing technologies,a broad range of intriguing silk-based functional biomaterials have been made and applied for various biomedical uses.However,most of these materials are based on natural silk proteins without chemical modification,leading to limited control of properties and functions(e.g.,biodegradability and bioactivity).A chemical toolbox for modifying the silk proteins is required to achieve versatile silk-based materials with precisely designed properties or functions for different applications.Furthermore,inspired by the traditional fine chemical industry based on synthetic chemistry,developing silk-based fine chemicals with special functions can significantly extend the applications of silk materials,particularly in biomedical fields.This review summarizes the recent progress on chemical modification of silk proteins,focusing on the methodologies and applications.We also discuss the challenges and opportunities of these chemically modified silk proteins.Haoran Liu Ziyang Sun Chengchen Guo 2022Advanced Fiber Materials2022,4,4:1

16Preliminary Study on the Mechanism of Flower Color Variation in White Mutants of Anthurium andeaeanum显示文摘[Objectives] This study was conducted to explore the physiological mechanism of flower color variation in the white mutants of Anthurium andeaeanum. [Methods] The seven white mutants of 'Alabama' and 'Turenza' were used as materials to analyze the pigment types, flavonoid types and content and anthocyanin content in the wild type and mutants. [Results] The white spathe mainly contained flavonoids, flavonols, dihydroflavonols and dihydroflavonols; the white mutants of 'Alabama' had a higher total flavonoid content than the wild type, while the white mutants of 'Turenza' showed an opposite trend; and the spathe of the wild type had the highest anthocyanin content, and the pink part of the two-color mutant or the spathe of the binary color mutant contained trace anthocyanins, while no anthocyanins were detected in the white part of the mutants. 17Response analysis of buried pipelines crossing fault due to overlying soil rupture显示文摘A 3-D soil-pipe nonlinear finite element model with contact element is suggested and the influences of the rupture mode, thickness and rigidity of overlying soil on the response of buried pipeline are analyzed. The numerical results show that the soil rupture mode determines the location of the large deformation or failure of the pipeline, and the plastic deformation of the pipeline occurs at the zone where the plastic deformation or rupture of the overlying soil appears. When the fault dip angle on bedrock is near 90°, two plastic deformation sections of the pipeline appear with the development of overlying soil rupture. And the thicker the overlying soil is, the longer the plastic deformation length of the pipeline is and the less its strain is. 18Reproduction of Hedysarum scoparium (Fabaceae) in patched habitat is pollen limited,but not just pollinator limited显示文摘Pollen limitation of plant reproduction occurs across Angiosperms,particularly those in patched habitats.We investigated the relationship between pollen limitation and patch variables (patch size,visitation frequency) in the desert plant Hedysarum scoparium (Fabaceae),which is an important xerophyte in the arid and semi-arid regions of Northwest China and can grow well as a pioneer plant in shifting sand dunes.We observed insect visitation to H.scoparium over two flowering seasons and estimated pollen limitation using fruit set and seed production.Our results indicate that fruit set and seed production increased significantly with pollen supplementation compared with open pollination.Hedysarum scoparium was pollinated by over 8 species of bees,with 88.4% of visits made by introduced honeybees (Apis mellifera).Bee visitation varied significantly among the patches of habitats,but not associated with patch size of habitat.In general,pollen limitation occurred more strongly during fruit set than during seed production.The patches that received higher rates of pollinator visits were less pollen limited for fruit set.Pollen limitation for seed production,however,was not associated with pollinator visitation frequency.We conclude that pollen limitation in H.scoparium was caused by more than one reason,not just pollinator visits.ChengChen PAN LinDe LIU HaLin ZHAO JiLiang LIU YueLi HOU Li ZHANG 2012Journal of Arid Land2012,4,1:1
