1Similarity assessment for scientific workflow clustering and recommendation显示文摘This article proposes to identify and recommend scientific workflows for reuse and repurposing.Specifically, a scientific workflow is represented as a layer hierarchy that specifies the hierarchical relations between this workflow, its sub-workflows, and activities. Semantic similarity is calculated between layer hierarchies of workflows. 3Study on the Bonding Performance of the Moso Bamboo Dowel Welded to a Poplar Substrate Joint by High-Speed Rotation显示文摘The wood friction welding technique with its high bonding strength,low cost,high efficiency,and without any adhesive has been increasing concern in China.Moso bamboo(Phyllostachys pubescens)and poplar(Populus sp.)are widely planted and used in the furniture industry,interior decoration,and wood structure construction in China.The aim of this work was to investigate the bonding performance of moso bamboo dowel rotation welded joints with different dowel/receiving hole diameter ratios.The results indicated that the ratio of dowel/receiving hole diameter was an important parameter that influenced the welding performance.The bonding strength of the bamboo-to-poplar welded joints at the optimal ratio of 10/7 was as high as 7.50 MPa,which was higher than that of the beech(Fagus sylvatica,L.),schima(Schima superba)dowels and PVAc glued joints.The temperature measurement results showed a peak temperature of bamboo dowel welding as high as 350–360°C.Some differences in the temperature curves between each dowel/hole diameter ratio group were observed at the three different hole depths,such as the friction time,peak temperatures,and stabilization time at the maximum temperature,which could explain the differences in welding strengths between different ratios.The SEM results showed the temperature-induced softening,melting and flowing of cell-interconnected polymer material in the wood and bamboo structure.In addition,the bamboo fibers(mainly vascular bundles)were wrapped to form a dense continuous bonding layer,similar to the reinforced concrete,thus producing a good bonding effect.The Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR)analyses showed that the high temperature resulted in the increase of the lignin relative content due to the degradation reaction of cellulose in the welding zone,which improved the bonding properties.Suxia Li Haiyang Zhang Biqing Shu Liangsong Cheng Zehui Ju Xiaoning Lu 2021Journal of Renewable Materials2021,9,7:1
4Defects boost graphitization for highly conductive graphene films显示文摘Fabricating highly crystalline macroscopic films with extraordinary electrical and thermal conductivities from graphene sheets is essential for applications in electronics,telecommunications and thermal management.High-temperature graphitization is the only method known to date for the crystallization of all types of carbon materials,where defects are gradually removed with increasing temperature.However,when using graphene materials as precursors,including graphene oxide,reduced graphene oxide and pristine graphene,even lengthy graphitization at 3000℃can only produce graphene films with small grain sizes and abundant structural disorders,which limit their conductivities.Here,we show that high-temperature defects substantially accelerate the grain growth and ordering of graphene films during graphitization,enabling ideal AB stacking as well as a 100-fold,64-fold and 28-fold improvement in grain size,electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity,respectively,between 2000℃and 3000℃.This process is realized by nitrogen doping,which retards the lattice restoration of defective graphene,retaining abundant defects such as vacancies,dislocations and grain boundaries in graphene films at a high temperature.With this approach,a highly ordered crystalline graphene film similar to highly oriented pyrolytic graphite is fabricated,with electrical and thermal conductivities(~2.0×10~4 S cm~(-1);~1.7×10~3 W m~(-1)K~(-1))that are improved by about 6-and 2-fold,respectively,compared to those of the graphene films fabricated by graphene oxide.Such graphene film also exhibits a superhigh electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness of~90 dB at a thickness of 10μm,outperforming all the synthetic materials of comparable thickness including MXene films.This work not only paves the way for the te chnological application of highly conductive graphene films but also provides a general strategy to efficiently improve the synthesis and properties of other carbon materials such as graphene fibers,carbon nanotube fibers,carbon fibers,polymer-derived graphite and highly oriented pyrolytic graphite.Qing Zhang Qinwei Wei Kun Huang Zhibo Liu WeiMa Zehui Zhang Yanfeng Zhang Hui-Ming Cheng Wencai Ren 2023National Science Review2023,10,7:1
5Semi-interpenetrating polymer networks toward sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) membranes for high concentration direct methanol fuel cell显示文摘Low methanol permeability of proton exchange membranes (PEMs) is greatly important for direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs). Here, sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) based semiinterpenetrating polymer networks (semi-IPNs) are successfully prepared by interpenetrating SPEEK into the in-situ synthesized crosslinking networks. The polymeric networks are formed by the covalent bonds between bromobenzyl groups of bro mo methylated poly (phenylene oxide) and amine groups of diamine linkers as well as the ionic bonds between amine species and sulfonated groups. Two linkers without and with sulfonated groups are applied to fabricate the semi-IPNs. The core properties of the membranes, like phase separation, water uptake, proton conductivity and methanol permeability, are systematically studied and compared. The DMFCs assembled by using the semi-IPN membranes display better performance than Nafion 117 in high concentration methanol solutions. 6Brain-like synaptic memristor based on lithiumdoped silicate for neuromorphic computing显示文摘Artificial synapse is one of the potential electronics for constructing neural network hardware.In this work,Pt/LiSiO_(x)/TiN analog artificial synapse memristor is designed and investigated.With the increase of compliance current(C.C.)under 0.6 mA,1 mA,and 3 mA,the current in the high resistance state(HRS)presents an increasing variation,which indicates lithium ions participates in the operation process for Pt/LiSiO_(x)/TiN memristor.Moreover,depending on the movement of lithium ions in the functional layer,the memristor illustrates excellent conduction modulation property,so the long-term potentiation(LTP)or depression(LTD)and paired-pulse facilitation(PPF)synaptic functions are successfully achieved.The neural network simulation for pattern recognition is proposed with the recognition accuracy of 91.4%.These findings suggest the potential application of the LiSiO_(x)memristor in the neuromorphic computing.Shanwu Ke Li Jiang Yifan Zhao Yongyue Xiao Bei Jiang Gong Cheng Facai Wu Guangsen Cao Zehui Peng Min Zhu Cong Ye 2022Frontiers of physics2022,17,5:1
7Evidence of aircraft activity impact on local air quality: A study in the context of uncommon airport operation显示文摘Wuhan Tianhe International Airport (WUH) was suspended to contain the spread of COVID-19,while Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA) saw a tremendousflight reduction.Closure of a major international airport is extremely rare and thus represents a unique opportunity to straightforwardly observe the impact of airport emissions on local air quality.In this study,a series of statistical tools were applied to analyze the variations in air pollutant levels in the vicinity of WUH and SHA.The results of bivariate polar plots show that airport SHA and WUH are a major source of nitrogen oxides.NOx,NO_(2)and NO diminished by 55.8%,44.1%,76.9%,and 40.4%,33.3% and 59.4% during the COVID-19 lockdown compared to those in the same period of 2018 and 2019,under a reduction in aircraft activities by 58.6%and61.4%.The concentration of NO_(2),SO_(2)and PM_(2.5)decreased by 77.3%,8.2%,29.5%,right after the closure of airport WUH on 23 January 2020.The average concentrations of NO,NO_(2)and NOxscatter plots at downwind of SHA after the lockdown were 78.0%,47.9%,57.4%and 62.3%,34.8%,41.8%lower than those during the same period in 2018 and 2019.However,a significant increase in O_(3)levels by 50.0% and 25.9%at WUH and SHA was observed,respectively.These results evidently show decreased nitrogen oxides concentrations in the airport vicinity due to reduced aircraft activities,while amplified O_(3)pollution due to a lower titration by NO under strong reduction in NOxemissions.Hao Xu Kai Xiao Jun Pan Qingyan Fu Xiaodong Wei Junrui Zhou Yamei Yu Xue Hu Huarui Ren Jinping Cheng Shitao Peng Ningning Hong Yin Ye Ning Su Zehui He Tao Hu 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,3:0
8Visualization of Cellulose Microfibrils of Phyllostachys pubescens Fibers with Atomic Force Microscope显示文摘Atomic force microscope(AFM) was used to investigate the arrangement of cellulose microfibrils (CMF) in Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) fibers. Two methods of sample preparation were used here for different purposes. The first method was chemical maceration with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and glacial acetic acid, through which the obtained fibers were suitable for observing the orientation of CMF in the primary wal1. The other method was to prepare tangential microtomed sections with a thickness of approximately 30 μm, which was used to investigate the arrangement of CMF in the inner wall of cell cavity of bamboo fibers. The results indicated that the CMF are randomly oriented in the primary wall while in the inner wall of cell cavity they are nearly vertical to the long axis of fibers , which is similar to the arrangement of CMF in the corresponding layer of wood fibers. Meanwhile, the highly oriented arrangement of CMF is also observed in a certain layer of bamboo fibers, though it is incapable of determining which layer it is in this study. 10Dynamic Viscoelastic Properties of γ Rays Treated Bamboo Strip in Different Temperatures显示文摘The dynamic viscoelastic properties of bamboo were tested by dynamic mechanics analyzer (DMA),and the measurements were done in the temperature range of 40℃ to 300℃at frequencies of 3 Hz.The results showed that with the increase of irradiation dose,the decrease of storage modulus with increasing temperature became more dramatically.The decrease extent of storage modulus was the lowest for non-irradiated bamboo.Two mechanical relaxation processes were observed for all kinds of irradiated bamboo.The a relaxation process in lower temperature range was due to glass transition of hemicellulose and login,while the β relaxation process occurred in higher temperature range was based on glass transition of cellulose.The loss peak strength ofαrelaxation process went up as the irradiation dose increase,while the loss peak strength of β relaxation process became up first and then down,which was caused by the chemical reaction of the chief composition of bamboo.Sun Fengbo Fei Benhua Jiang Zehui Cheng Haitao Yu Zixuan Chang Xiangzhen 2012Chinese Forestry Science and Technology2012,11,3:0

13A trustless architecture of blockchain-enabled metaverse显示文摘Metaverse has rekindled human beings’desire to further break space-time barriers by fusing the virtual and real worlds.However,security and privacy threats hinder us from building a utopia.A metaverse em-braces various techniques,while at the same time inheriting their pitfalls and thus exposing large attack surfaces.Blockchain,proposed in 2008,was regarded as a key building block of metaverses.it enables transparent and trusted computing environments using tamper-resistant decentralized ledgers.Currently,blockchain supports Decentralized Finance(DeFi)and Non-fungible Tokens(NFT)for metaverses.How-ever,the power of a blockchain has not been sufficiently exploited.In this article,we propose a novel trustless architecture of blockchain-enabled metaverse,aiming to provide efficient resource integration and allocation by consolidating hardware and software components.To realize our design objectives,we provide an On-Demand Trusted Computing Environment(OTCE)technique based on local trust evalua-tion.Specifically,the architecture adopts a hypergraph to represent a metaverse,in which each hyper-edge links a group of users with certain relationship.Then the trust level of each user group can be evaluated based on graph analytics techniques.Based on the trust value,each group can determine its security plan on demand,free from interference by irrelevant nodes.Besides,OTCEs enable large-scale and flexible application environments(sandboxes)while preserving a strong security guarantee.Minghui Xu Yihao Guo Qin Hu Zehui Xiong Dongxiao Yu Xiuzhen Cheng 2023High-Confidence Computing2023,3,1:0
