1Spatial patterns and driving forces of land use change in China during the early 21st century显示文摘Land use and land cover change as the core of coupled human-environment systems has become a potential field of land change science (LCS) in the study of global environmental change. Based on remotely sensed data of land use change with a spatial resolution of 1 km × 1 km on national scale among every 5 years, this paper designed a new dynamic regionalization according to the comprehensive characteristics of land use change including regional differentiation, physical, economic, and macro-policy factors as well. Spatial pattern of land use change and its driving forces were investigated in China in the early 21st century. To sum up, land use change pattern of this period was characterized by rapid changes in the whole country. Over the agricultural zones, e.g., Huang-Huai-Hai Plain, the southeast coastal areas and Sichuan Basin, a great proportion of fine arable land were engrossed owing to considerable expansion of the built-up and residential areas, resulting in decrease of paddy land area in southern China. The development of oasis agriculture in Northwest China and the reclamation in Northeast China led to a slight increase in arable land area in northern China. Due to the 'Grain for Green' policy, forest area was significantly increased in the middle and western developing regions, where the vegetation coverage was substantially enlarged, likewise. 2Cropland redistribution to marginal lands undermines environmental sustainability显示文摘Cropland redistribution to marginal land has been reported worldwide;however,the resulting impacts on environmental sustainability have not been investigated sufficiently.Here we investigated the environmental impacts of cropland redistribution in China.As a result of urbanization-induced loss of high-quality croplands in south China(~8.5 t ha^(-1)),croplands expanded to marginal lands in northeast(~4.5 t ha^(-1)) and northwest China(~2.9 t ha^(-1)) during 1990-2015 to pursue food security.However,the reclamation in these low-yield and ecologically vulnerable zones considerably undermined local environmental sustainability,for example increasing wind erosion(+3.47%),irrigation water consumption(+34.42%),fertilizer use(+20.02%) and decreasing natural habitats(-3.11%).Forecasts show that further reclamation in marginal lands per current policies would exacerbate environmental costs by 2050.The future cropland security risk will be remarkably intensified because of the conflict between food production and environmental sustainability.Our research suggests that globally emerging reclamation of marginal lands should be restricted and crop yield boost should be encouraged for both food security and environmental benefits.Wenhui Kuang Jiyuan Liu Hanqin Tian Hao Shi Jinwei Dong Changqing Song Xiaoyong Li Guoming Du Yali Hou Dengsheng Lu Wenfeng Chi Tao Pan Shuwen Zhang Rafiq Hamdi Zherui Yin Huimin Yan Changzhen Yan Shixin Wu Rendong Li Jiuchun Yang Yinyin Dou Wenbin Wu Liqiao Liang Bao Xiang Shiqi Yang 2022National Science Review2022,9,1:13
3Test Data Generation for Stateful Network Protocol Fuzzing Using a Rule-Based State Machine显示文摘To improve the efficiency and coverage of stateful network protocol fuzzing, this paper proposes a new method, using a rule-based state machine and a stateful rule tree to guide the generation of fuzz testing data. The method first builds a rule-based state machine model as a formal description of the states of a network protocol.This removes safety paths, to cut down the scale of the state space. Then it uses a stateful rule tree to describe the relationship between states and messages, and then remove useless items from it. According to the message sequence obtained by the analysis of paths using the stateful rule tree and the protocol specification, an abstract data model of test case generation is defined. The fuzz testing data is produced by various generation algorithms through filling data in the fields of the data model. Using the rule-based state machine and the stateful rule tree,the quantity of test data can be reduced. 4Driving forces of land use and land cover change (LUCC) in the Zoige Wetland, Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The Zoige Wetland is located in the northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, which is highly sensitive to global environment change and human disturbance because of its high elevation and cold environment, thus, it's a hotspot for land use and land cover change (LUCC) research. We used Landsat MSS images from 1975, Landsat ETM images from 2000, and Landsat TM images from 1990 and 2005 to assess the LUCC in the study area, using GIS techniques, as well as topographic, vegetation, and soil maps combined with field investigations. The monitoring result shows that the study area's environment degraded rapidly between 1975 and 2005, including wetland shrinkage from 5,308 km 2 to 4,980 km 2 , sandy land expansion from 112 km 2 to 137 km 2 , forest land decreasing from 5,686 km 2 to 5,443 km 2 , and grassland degradation from 12,309 km 2 to 10,672 km 2 . According to the analysis of meteorological data and social-economic statistical data, we concluded that the LUCC in the Zoige Wetland was caused by both natural and anthropogenic factors, but human activities were primarily responsible for the observed LUCC, thereby, we suggest human behaviors must be adjusted to control environmental degradation.GuangYin Hu ZhiBao Dong JunFeng Lu ChangZhen Yan 2012Research in Cold and Arid Regions2012,4,5:7
5Observations of several characteristics of aeolian sand movement in the Taklimakan Desert显示文摘With both sides of the Taklimakan Desert highway line as the study area, three typical aeolian sand landforms, i.e. complex dune ridge, barchan dune and flat sand land, were selected as sand beds for the observation, analysis and research of the characteristics of aeolian sand movement such as aeolian sand stream structure, sand transport intensity, etc. in the Taklimakan Desert. The results show that there is a linear relation between the height and the log of sand transport rate over transverse dune chain, longitudinal dune ridge and flat sand land, i.e. the sand transport percentage decreases exponentially with increasing height. Sand transport rate within the 10 cm height above the bed surface accounts for 80%-95% of the total sand transport rate of the observed height (40 cm), while the sand transport rate in 20 cm occupies 98% of the total amount. Sand transport rate (g·cm-1·min-1) differs greatly with respect to different landform types and different topographic positions. Based on the investigation and analysis on aeolian sand landform origin, morphological type and distribution feature, the two typical landform assemblages, complex transverse dune chain-alluvial plain and huge longitudinal dune ridge-interridge lowland in the Taklimakan Desert were divided into several characteristic zones of aeolian sand movement states. 6Semi-valid Fuzz Testing Case Generation for Stateful Network Protocol显示文摘Network protocols are divided into stateless and stateful.Stateful network protocols have complex communication interactions and state transitions.However,the existing network protocol fuzzing does not support state transitions very well.This paper focuses on this issue and proposes the Semi-valid Fuzzing for the Stateful Network Protocol(SFSNP).The SFSNP analyzes protocol interactions and builds an extended finite state machine with a path marker for the network protocol; then it obtains test sequences of the extended finite state machine,and further performs the mutation operation using the semi-valid algorithm for each state transition in the test sequences; finally,it obtains fuzzing sequences.Moreover,because different test sequences may have the same state transitions,the SFSNP uses the state transition marking algorithm to reduce redundant test cases.By using the stateful rule tree of the protocol,the SFSNP extracts the constraints in the protocol specifications to construct semi-valid fuzz testing cases within the sub-protocol domain,and finally forms fuzzing sequences.Experimental results indicate that the SFSNP is reasonably effective at reducing the quantity of generated test cases and improving the quality of fuzz testing cases.The SFSNP can reduce redundancy and shorten testing time.Rui Ma Shuaimin Ren Ke Ma Changzhen Hu Jingfeng Xue 2017Tsinghua Science and Technology2017,22,5:6

8Discussions on real-world acupuncture treatments for chroni clow-back pain in older adults显示文摘Chronic low-back pain(CLBP) is one of the most common pain conditions. Current clinical guidelines for low-back pain recommend acupuncture for CLBP. However, there are very few high-quality acupuncture studies on CLBP in older adults. Clinical acupuncture experts in the American Traditional Chinese Medicine Association(ATCMA) were interested in the recent grant on CLBP research announced by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health. The ATCMA experts held an online discussion on the subject of real-world acupuncture treatments for CLBP in older adults. Seven participants, each with more than 20 years of acupuncture practice, discussed their own unique clinical experience while another participant talked about the potential mechanism of acupuncture in pain management. As a result of the discussion, a picture of a similar treatment strategy emerged across the participants for CLBP in older adults. 10Change of lake area in the southeastern part of China's Badain Jaran Sand Sea and its implications for recharge sources显示文摘Understanding the relationship between the changes in lake water volume and climate change can provide valuable information to the recharge sources of lake water. This is particularly true in arid areas such as the Badain Jaran Sand Sea, an ecologically sensitive area, where the recharge sources of lakes are heatedly debated. In this study, we determined the areas of 50 lakes(representing 70% of the total permanent lakes in this sand sea) in 1967, 1975, 1990, 2000 and 2010 by analyzing remote-sensing images using image processing and Ar GIS software. In general, the total lake area decreased from 1967 to 1990, remained almost unchanged from 1990 to 2000, and increased from 2000 to 2010. Analysis of the relationship between these changes and the contemporaneous changes in annual mean temperature and annual precipitation in the surrounding areas suggests that temperature has significantly affected the lake area, but that the influence of precipitation was minor. These results tend to support the palaeo-water recharge hypothesis for lakes of the Badain Jaran Sand Sea, considering the fact that the distribution and area of lakes are closely related to precipitation and the size of mega-dunes, but the contemporaneous precipitation can hardly balance the lake water.Zhi ZHANG ZhiBao DONG ChangZhen YAN GuangYin HU 2015Journal of Arid Land2015,7,1:4

12Driving Force and Ecosystem Service Values Estimation in the Extreme Arid Region from 1975 to 2015:A Case Study of Alxa League,China显示文摘The research on ecosystem service values(ESVs)estimation in arid region is weak.We took the Alxa League of China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,an extreme arid region,as an example and constructed an equivalent coefficient method to assess its ESVs from 1975 to 2015,by determining the standard unit of ESVs and the basic equivalent of the value of different ecosystem services per unit area based on the regional characteristics,literature research,expert knowledge and land use data.The results show that the ESVs first decreased from 83170.4 million yuan(RMB)in 1975 to 82337.8 million yuan(RMB)in 2000 and then increased to84033.6 million yuan(RMB)in 2015,and the ESV of sparse grassland and desert account for about 33%and 29%of the total ESVs,respectively.Among the four service types,the regulating services,support services,supply services and cultural services account for66.5%,22.8%,6.0%and 4.7%,respectively.The changes of ESVs in Alxa League are determined by the socio-economic development and ecological changes.This study provides a new method to estimate the ESVs in arid region by integrating existing methods and regional characteristics,such as the cost of water for arid ecosystems.XIE Jiali LU Zhixiang XIAO Shengchun YAN Changzhen 2021Chinese Geographical Science2021,31,6:3
13Edge-enriched MoS2 for kinetics-enhanced potassium storage显示文摘Potassium-ion batteries (PIBs) hold great promise as alternatives to lithium ion batteries in post-lithium age, while face challenges of slow reaction kinetics induced by the inherent characteristics of large-size K+. We herein show that creating sufficient exposed edges in MoS2 via constructing ordered mesoporous architecture greatly favors for improved kinetics as well as increased reactive sites for K storage. The engineered MoS2 with edge-enriched planes (EE-MoS2) is featured by three-dimensional bicontinuous frameworks with ordered mesopores of ~ 5.0 nm surrounded by thin wall of ~9.0 nm. Importantly, EE-MoS2 permits exposure of enormous edge planes at pore walls, renders its intrinsic layer spacing more accessible for K^+ and accelerates conversion kinetics, thus realizing enhanced capacity and high rate capability. Impressively, EE-MoS2 displays a high reversible charge capacity of 506 mAh·g^−1 at 0.05 A·g^−1, superior cycling capacities of 321 mAh·g^−1 at 1.0 A·g^−1 after 200 cycles and a capacity of 250 mAh·g^−1 at 2.0 A·g^−1, outperforming edge-deficient MoS2 with nonporous bulk structure. 14Oasis Functional Stability Evaluation Based on Multiple Indicators, Northwest China显示文摘We produced and analyzed oasis structure information, and evaluated oasis functional stability using the multiple indicators based on Remote Sensing(RS) and Geographical Information System(GIS) in the arid region of China in 2015. The results showed that the oases area was 193,734 km^2, accounting for 8.17% of the arid region of China. The spatial difference in the functional stability of oases was obvious. The Beijiang zone had the highest functional stability and was relatively stable state, and the Hexi Corridor-Alashan Plateau zone had the lowest functional stability and was relatively unstable. The functional stability is dominated by production and ecological functions, which have regional differences. Increasing oasis agricultural output, strengthening highway infrastructure construction and paying attention to education will become important ways to improve oasis functional stability. Water resources determine the ecological function, thus affecting the oasis functional stability. 17Software Defect Prediction via Deep Belief Network显示文摘Defect distribution prediction is a mean-ingful topic because software defects are the fundamental cause of many attacks and data loss. Building accurate prediction models can help developers find bugs and prioritize their testing efforts. Previous researches focus on exploring different machine learning algorithms based on the features that encode the characteristics of programs. The problem of data redundancy exists in software defect data set, which has great influence on prediction effect. We propose a defect distribution prediction model (Deep belief network prediction model, DBNPM), a system for detecting whether a program module contains defects. The key insight of DBNPM is Deep belief network (DBN) technology, which is an effective deep learning technique in image processing and natural language processing, whose features are similar to defects in source program. 18Infrared modeling and imaging simulation of midcourse ballistic targets based on strap-down platform显示文摘An infrared(IR) imaging simulation framework based on the strap-down platform is proposed for midcourse ballistic targets. It overcomes the shortcoming of the existing algorithms,which cannot simulate IR imaging from the entire midcourse process. The proposed framework includes three steps, target characteristic modeling, motion modeling, and imaging modeling. In imaging modeling, the staring focal plane is taken into account due to its wide employment. In order to obtain IR images of high fidelity,especially that the fluctuation of the target signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) is reasonably similar to the actual one, this paper proposes an improved IR imaging simulation method. The proposed method considers two critical factors of the pixel plane, occupy-empty ratio and defect elements, which affect the imaging of targets markedly but are neglected in previous work. Finally, the IR image sequence of high fidelity is obtained. And the correlative parameters of simulation can be set according to the given scene. 20Experimental Study on the Improvement of Yaw Stability by Coordination Control between the Caudal Fin and Anal Fin显示文摘Due to the unique locomotion,the head-shaking problem of biomimetic robotic fish inevitably occurs during rectilinear locomotion,which strongly hinders its practical applications.In this paper,we experimentally study this problem by proposing the method of coordination control between the caudal fin and anal fin.First,an untethered biomimetic robotic fish,equipped with an anal fin,a caudal fin and two pectoral fins,is developed as the experimental platform.Second,a Central Pattern Generator(CPG)-based controller is used to coordinate the motions of the anal fin and caudal fin.Third,extensive experiments are conducted to explore different combinations of the flapping frequencies,the flapping amplitudes,and the phase differences between the anal fin and caudal fin.Notably,through proper control of the anal fin,the amplitude of the yaw motion can be as small as 4.32°,which sees a 65%improvement compared to the scenario without anal fin,and a 57%improvement compared to that with a stationary anal fin.This paper provides a novel way to alleviate the head-shaking problem for biomimetic robotic fish,and first test this method on an untethered,freely swimming robotic platform,which can shed light on the development of underwater robotics.Jiang Ding Changzhen Zheng Chaocheng Song Qiyang Zuo Yaohui Xu Bingbing Dong Jiaxu Cui Kai He Fengran Xie 2022Journal of Bionic Engineering2022,19,5:1
