1Coastal seafloor observatory at Xiaoqushan in the East China Sea显示文摘The seafloor observation system is becoming an important infrastructure for marine research because it is transforming oceanic research from temporal investigation to long term observation.The East China Sea coastal seafloor observatory,located between 30°31′44″N,122°15′12″E and 30°31′34″N,122°14′40″E,is constructed near the Xiaoqushan Island outside the Hangzhou Bay on the inner continental shelf of the East China Sea.The observatory is connected by a submarine optical fiber composite power cable that is more than one kilometer long and consists of a special junction box that transmits power and communication signals to different instruments.The special junction box has a variety of waterproof plugs and connects to three different instruments installed in a trawl preventer.The submarine optical fiber composite power cable is landed on the platform by The East China Sea Branch,State Oceanic Administration and the power is continuously supplied by the solar panels and solar battery on the top of the platform.The real time data are directly sent through the cable to the platform and are transmitted by CDMA wireless to the receiver at the State Key Laboratory of Marine Geology of Tongji University.Measurements at the observatory have been taken since April 20,2009 after installation and the results have been interpreted.The characteristics of the near bottom boundary are constrained by a sediment suspension model using portion of the observed data.In particular,discussion is provided on the sea surface height anomaly at Xiaoqushan Island influenced by the tsunami driven by the 2010 Earthquake in Chile.The successful establishment of the coastal seafloor observatory is the first step toward future development of seafloor observation systems in China.It not only accumulates experiences in technology and engineering,but also paves the way for performing important oceanic research using the long term continuous observation platform.XU HuiPing ZHANG YanWei XU ChangWei LI JianRu LIU Ding QIN RuFu LUO ShenQian FAN DaiDu 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,26:10
2Detecting Droughts in Southwest China from GPS Vertical Position Displacements显示文摘The solid Earth responds elastically to terrestrial water storage(TWS)changes.Here global positioning system(GPS)vertical position data at 31 stations from the crustal movement observation network of China(CMONOC)from August 2010 to December 2016 are used to detect droughts in Southwest China.Monthly GPS vertical position displacements respond negatively to precipitation changes and TWS changes observed by gravity recovery and climate experiments(GRACE)as well as river water level variations.GPS vertical position anomalies(the non-seasonal term)are well correlated negatively(correlations of about-0.70)with the commonly used meteorological composite index(CI)in China and the GRACE drought severity index(GRACE-DSI),but less correlated with the standardized precipitation evapotranspiration index(SPEI).Compared to CI,GPS vertical position anomalies have the advantage of detecting droughts caused by abrupt precipitation deficits in a short time.GRACE-DSI is less accurate in drought monitoring for some periods due to the missing data,while the severity of abrupt precipitation absent in some cases can be overestimated from SPEI with big variability.This study shows the reliability and advantages of GPS data in drought monitoring.Chaolong YAO Zhicai LUO Yueming HU Changwei WANG Rui ZHANG Jinming LI 2020Journal of Geodesy and Geoinformation Science2020,3,3:5
3Catalytic pyrolysis of Pubescens to phenols over Ni/C catalyst显示文摘The pyrolysis of Pubescens over Ni/C catalyst was studied at 350°C in H2 flow.The presence of Ni/C catalyst efficiently improved the degradation of raw materials,and produced bio-oil with high content of phenols but low contents of acetic acid,furfural and water.In the reaction,Ni/C catalyst plays the role of catalytic decomposition and catalytic hydrogenation.The existence of the carbon carrier favors the formation of active Ni in small sizes with more defects,which results in high catalytic activity of Ni in biomass decomposition and selective production of phenols.LUO Jia LI Jie SHEN DanFeng HE Ling TONG DongMei HU ChangWei 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,7:4
4Joint head pose and facial landmark regression from depth images显示文摘This paper presents a joint head pose and facial landmark regression method with input from depth images for realtime application. Our main contributions are: firstly, a joint optimization method to estimate head pose and facial landmarks, i.e., the pose regression result provides supervised initialization for cascaded facial landmark regression, while the regression result for the facial landmarks can also help to further refine the head pose at each stage. Secondly,we classify the head pose space into 9 sub-spaces, and then use a cascaded random forest with a global shape constraint for training facial landmarks in each specific space. This classification-guided method can effectively handle the problem of large pose changes and occlusion.Lastly, we have built a 3D face database containing 73 subjects, each with 14 expressions in various head poses. 5Automatic Tongue Tracking in X-Ray Images显示文摘X-ray imaging is an effective technique to obtain the continuous motions of the vocal tract during speech, and Active appearance model(AAM) is a useful tool to analyze the X-ray images. However, for the task of tongue tracking in X-ray images, the accuracy of AAM fitting is insufficient. AAM aims to minimize the residual error between the model appearance and the input image. It often fails to accurately converge to the true landmarks. To improve the tracking accuracy, we propose a fitting method by combining Constrained local model(CLM) into AAM.In our method, we first combine the objective functions of AAM and CLM into a single objective function. Then,we pro ject out the texture variation and derive a gradient based method to optimize the objective function. Our method effectively incorporates not only the shape prior and global texture, but also local texture around each landmark. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method significantly reduces the fitting error. 7The Promotion Effect of NaCl on the Conversion of Xylose to Furfural显示文摘Summary of main observation and conclusion In this work,the promotion effect of NaCl on the conversion of xylose to furfural in H2O was studied.it was found that xylose conversion and furfural yield increased with NaCl concentration.NaCl decreased the pH of the solution providing H+ for the acid catalytic dehydration of xylose.The formation of oligomers was determined by GPC and ESI-MS in the initial stage of reaction,especially at low temperature.Excess NaCl promoted the formation of humins in the late stage of the reaction.NaCl could also change the decomposition route of formic acid.Meanwhile,NaCl had the ability of phase separation.Combining these effects with organic solvent during the reaction could inhibit the formation of humins and increase the yield of furfural.In NaCl-H2O-THF biphasic system without other catalyst,the optimal furfural yield of 76.7% and selectivity of 77.6% were achieved at 463 K in 2 h.Zheng Li Yiping Luo Zhicheng Jiang Qianying Fang Changwei Hu 2020Chinese Journal of Chemistry2020,38,2:1

9Effect of mass transfer process on hydrogen adsorption on polycrystalline platinum electrode in sulfuric acid solution显示文摘The underpotential adsorption of hydrogen (HUPD) is one of the most attractive fields in surface electrochemistry and electrocatalysis. In this work, the hydrogen adsorption on polycrystalline platinum electrode experimentally as well as on single crystal Pt(110) and Pt(100) electrode theoretically were studied. The effect of forced convection on the adsorption and desorption process of hydrogen was studied through adjusting the sampling rate of the microporous sampler closing to the surface of the platinum electrode immersed in dilute sulfuric acid solution. The relationship between HUPD and surface structure sensitivity was built quantitively. The DFT simulation shows that the adsorption strength of hydrogen on Pt(100), due to the lower adsorption energy, is weaker than that on Pt(110). Moreover, the bridged position of hydrogen on Pt(100) and the short-range bridged position on Pt(110) were found to be the optimal adsorption sites. 10Preparation,characterization and performance of poly(m-phenylene isophthalamide)/organically modified montmorillonite nanocomposite membranes in removal of perfluorooctane sulfonate显示文摘Nanocomposite membranes containing poly(m-phenylene isophthalamide)(PMIA) and organically modified montmorillonite(OMMT) were prepared by a combination of solution dispersion and wet-phase inversion methods, and the effects of OMMT addition on the properties and performance of fabricated nanofiltration membranes were investigated. The membranes were characterized by contact angle measurements, scanning electron microscopy(SEM), atomic force microscopy(AFM), thermogravimetric analysis, and zeta potential.The performance of the membranes was elucidated by the removal of perfluorooctane sulfonate(PFOS) at neutral p H. Increasing OMMT concentration improved the thermal stability and hydrophilicity of the membranes. The permeation and rejection of PFOS were significantly improved. The performance of fabricated nanofiltration membranes in removal of PFOS varied depending on the solute and membrane properties as well as solution conditions. 11Recent advances in the catalytic pyrolysis of biomass显示文摘Biomass is considered as a renewable and alternative resource for the production of fuels and chemicals,since it is the only carbon and hydrogen containing resource that we canfind in the world except for fossil resources,capable of being converted to hydro-carbons.The pyrolytic liquefaction of biomass is a promising way to convert biomass to useful products.This paper briefly surveys the present status of the direct catalytic pyrolysis for the liquefaction of biomass.The direct use of catalysts could decrease the pyrolysis temperature,increase the conversion of biomass and the yield of bio-oil,and change the distribution of the pyrolytic liquid products then improve the quality of the bio-oil obtained.The fact that biomass is in solid state present great challenges for its conversion and for the effective use of catalysts due to the bad heat transfer characteristics and bad mass transfer properties.These barriers appeal for the development of a new catalyst and new catalytic process as well as the integration of both.Process design and process intensification are of significant importance in the catalytic conversion of biomass.Changwei HU Yu YANG Jia LUO Pan PAN Dongmei TONG Guiying LI 2011Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2011,5,2:0
