Analysis of variation trends and causes of aerosol optical depth in Shaanxi Province using MODIS data显示文摘The temporal and spatial variations and causes of aerosol optical depth(AOD)in Shaanxi Province were investigated based on the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)derived aerosol data for the period of March 2000–February 2012.The results showed that the distribution of aerosol was largely affected by topography and local economic activities.Heavy aerosol loading and increasing tendency in AOD was observed in Guanzhong,Hanzhong and Ankang basin, while a reverse tendency was revealed in most other regions. The spatial distribution of aerosol Angstrom wavelength exponent was predominantly related to vegetation coverage in Shaanxi.Airborne dust from ground is an important source of coarse mode aerosols.Vegetation improvement indicated by an increase in normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)and a reduction in dust weather led to a gradual decrease in coarse mode AOD to the north of Qinling Mountains in Shaanxi, while anthropogenic activities led to an increase in fine mode AOD in other areas except those covered by forests. The main aerosol type gradually shifted to the urban industrial type in Shaanxi. | DONG ZiPeng YU Xing LI XingMin DAI Jin | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,35: | 8
Effects of Inlet Circumferential Fluctuation on the Sweep Aerodynamic Performance of Axial Fans/Compressors显示文摘Swept blades have been widely used in the transonic fan/compressor of aircraft engines with the aids of 3D CFD simulation since the design concept of controlling the shock structure was firstly proposed and successfully tested by Dr.Wennerstrom in the 1980s.However,some disadvantage phenomenon has also been induced by excessively 3D blade geometries on the structure stress insufficiency, vibration and reliability.Much confusion in the procedure of design practice leading us to recognize a new view on the flow mechanism of sweep aerodynamical induction: the new radial equilibrium established by the influence of inlet circumferential fluctuation(CF) changes the inlet flows of blading and induces the performance modification of axial fans/compressors blade. The view is verified by simplified models through numerical simulation and circumferentially averaged analysis in the present paper. The results show that the CF source items which originate from design parameters, such as the spanwise distributions of the loading and blading geometries, contribute to the changing of averaged incidence spanwise distribution, and further more affect the performance of axial fans/compressors with swept blades. | Xingmin Gui Fang Zhu Ke Wan Donghai Jin | 2013 | Journal of Thermal Science2013,22,5: | 8
Effect of shrub-grass vegetation coverage and slope gradient on runoff and sediment yield under simulated rainfall显示文摘Evaluating the benefits of sediment and runoff reduction in different vegetation types is essential for studying the mechanisms of soil and water conservation on the Loess Plateau. The experiment was conducted in shrub-grass plots with nine levels of mixed vegetation coverage from 0%to 70%,three slopes(10,15,and 20)and two rainfall intensities(1.0 and 2.5 mm/min).The results showed that the vegetation coverage and slope gradient significantly affect runoff and sediment yield.Shrub-grass vegetation coverage had a significant effect on the runoff start-time,runoff flow velocity, runoff rate, and soil erosion rate on hillslopes.Mixed vegetation coverage could effectively delay the runoff starttime and decrease the runoff flow velocity. However, the effects of the slope gradient on runoff and sediment yield are opposite to those of vegetation coverage.Shrub-grass vegetation coverage could effectively increase runoff and sediment yield reduction benefits, while their benefits were affected by the rainfall intensity. At the 1.0 mm/min rainfall intensity, the reduction in the sediment production rate was greater than that under the 2.5 mm/min intensity. However, when the shrub-grass vegetation coverage exceeded 42%,the runoff reduction benefit was more obvious at higher rainfall intensities. The cumulative sediment yield increased with increasing cumulative runoff, and the rate of increase in the cumulative runoff was greater than that of the cumulative sediment yield with increasing of shrub-grass vegetation coverage. Moreover, there was a power function relationship between cumulative sediment yield and cumulative runoff yield(P<0.05).Our paper is expected to provide a good reference on the ecological environment and vegetation construction on the Loess Plateau. | Dandan Han Jingcheng Deng Chaojun Gu Xingmin Mu Peng Gao Jianjian Gao | 2021 | International Journal of Sediment Research2021,36,1: | 8
Optimization of endwall contouring in axial compressor S-shaped ducts显示文摘This paper presents a numerical investigation of the potential aerodynamic benefits of using endwall contouring in a fairly aggressive duct with six struts based on the platform for endwall design optimization. The platform is constructed by integrating adaptive genetic algorithm(AGA), design of experiments(DOE), response surface methodology(RSM) based on the artificial neural network(ANN), and a 3D Navier–Stokes solver. The visual analysis method based on DOE is used to define the design space and analyze the impact of the design parameters on the target function(response).Optimization of the axisymmetric and the non-axisymmetric endwall contouring in an S-shaped duct is performed and evaluated to minimize the total pressure loss. The optimal ducts are found to reduce the hub corner separation and suppress the migration of the low momentum fluid. The non-axisymmetric endwall contouring is shown to remove the separation completely and reduce the net duct loss by 32.7%. | Jin Donghai Liu Xiwu Zhao Weiguang Gui Xingmin | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2015,28,4: | 7

Application and Comparison of SST Model in Numerical Simulation of the Axial Compressors显示文摘The shear-stress transport(SST)turbulence model is incorporated into Navier-Stokes equations to simulate a turbomachinery flowfield.A staggered finite volume method is used to make the mean flow equations and turbulence model equations strongly coupled and enhance the stability of the numerical computation. The implicit treatment of the source terms is applied to the SST model.A steady state solution is obtained using five-stage Runge-Kutta time-stepping scheme with local time stepping and residual smoothing to accelerate convergence. The wall distance d,a key parameter in the SST model,is solved by a partial differential equation. The validations of the code are conducted on rotor 37,wp11 at design and off-design conditions by comparison with measurements and the Spalart-Allmaras(SA)turbulence model. The flow within the tip is calculated with a multi-block grid. | YIN Song~1,JIN Donghai~2,GUI Xingmin~3 and ZHU Fang Aero-Engines Simulation Research Center,School of Jet Propulsion,Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing,100191,China | 2010 | Journal of Thermal Science2010,19,4: | 7
Influence of Non-Axisymmetric Terms on Circumferentially Averaged Method in Fan/Compressor显示文摘The governing equations are derived by circumferentially averaging the three-dimensional(3D) Navier-Stokes equations, which are solved using a time marching finite volume approach. Both Euler throughflow model and Navier-Stokes(N-S) throughflow model are employed to investigate the performance and flow fields of a highly loaded transonic single-stage fan ATS-2 and a four-stage fan.The results are compared with the experimental and three-dimensional computational results. It shows that the throughflow models can provide reasonable performance characteristics and N-S throughflow model gives better predictions in endwall regions.A throughflow computation n in which all the non-axisymmetric terms are included has been performed at off-design condition and the radial distributions of the flow field can be well described. | Ke Wan Hailiang Jin Donghai Jin Xingmin Gui | 2013 | Journal of Thermal Science2013,22,1: | 7
Changes in sediment discharge in a sediment-rich region of the Yellow River from 1955 to 2010: implications for further soil erosion control显示文摘The well-documented decrease in the discharge of sediment into the Yellow River has attracted considerable attention in recent years. The present study analyzed the spatial and temporal variation of sediment yield based on data from 46 hydrological stations in the sediment-rich region of the Yellow River from 1955 to 2010. The results showed that since 1970 sediment yield in the region has clearly decreased at different rates in the 45 sub-areas controlled by hydrological stations. The decrease in sediment yield was closely related to the intensity and extent of soil erosion control measures and rainstorms that occurred in different periods and sub-areas. The average sediment delivery modulus(SDM) in the study area decreased from 7,767.4 t/(km2?a) in 1951–1969 to 980.5 t/(km2?a) in 2000–2010. Our study suggested that 65.5% of the study area with the SDM below 1,000 t/(km2?a) is still necessary to control soil deterioration caused by erosion, and soil erosion control measures should be further strengthened in the areas with the SDM above 1,000 t/(km2?a). | JuYing JIAO ZhiJie WANG GuangJu ZHAO WanZhong WANG XingMin MU | 2014 | Journal of Arid Land2014,6,5: | 7
Effects of Catalyst and Additive Containing Li, Na, or Ca on Reduction of Iron Oxide/Carbon Composite Pellets显示文摘The catalyst containing 0.69% (mass fraction) of Li, Na+, or Ca2+ were synthesized, and the catalytic effect on the reduction of iron oxide/carbon composite pellets were investigated by comparing with that of additive at 850 ℃. The effect of the catalyst was greater than that of the additive, it can be considered that catalyst promoted the formation of iron nucleus early on reduction processes of iron oxide/carbon composite pellets. In addition, both effects of catalyst and additive increased after added carbon powder into the pellets, but the extent of increase decreased when the carbon powder exceeded a suitable content (about 4%), this amount is less than that of car-bon needed theoretically on the reduction from hematite to iron. | Xingmin Guo, Shengbi Zhang, Nianxin Fu, Xiaofeng Zhao Metallurgy School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China Northeastern University, Shenyang 110006, China Anshan Iron and Steel (Group) Company, Anshan 114021, China | 2001 | Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2001,8,3: | 6
A Sensor Redeployment Algorithm Based on Virtual Forces for Underwater Sensor Networks显示文摘Practical underwater sensor networks redeployment algorithm needs to fully consider limited node resources, node move time and other characteristics in real environment. A Redeployment based on virtual forces(RBVF) algorithm is proposed. The non-persistent carrier sense multiple access protocol is introduced to solve communication conflicts between nodes during redeployment process. Based on existing study on three-dimensional space node deployment, the threshold value is determined to divide the attractive and repulsion forces. The speed of the node is considered. Simulation results indicate that the RBVF algorithm can achieve better coverage and less total move distance when moving nodes are not considered in virtual forces calculation.Water flow force is introduced, and a Virtual forces redeployment based on energy consuming(VFRBEC) algorithm is proposed, where different energy consumptions in different directions are used to modify node displacement. Simulation results indicate that the VFRBEC algorithm can achieve the same coverage performance with the RBVF algorithm with less energy and is better than the redeployment based on combined virtual forces algorithm in terms of both coverage and energy consumption performances. | JIANG Peng WANG Xingmin LIU Jun | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Electronics2018,27,2: | 6
Corner Flow Control in High Through-Flow Axial Commercial Fan/Booster Using Blade 3-D Optimization显示文摘This study is aimed at using blade 3-D optimization to control corner flows in the high through-flow fan/booster of a high bypass ratio commercial turbofan engine. Two kinds of blade 3-D optimization, end-bending and bow, are focused on. On account of the respective operation mode and environment, the approach to 3-D aerodynamic modeling of rotor blades is different from stator vanes. Based on the understanding of the mechanism of the corner flow and the consideration of intensity problem for rotors, this paper uses a variety of blade 3-D optimization approaches, such as loading distribution optimization, perturbation of departure angles and stacking-axis manipulation, which are suitable for rotors and stators respectively. The obtained 3-D blades and vanes can improve the corner flow features by end-bending and bow effects. The results of this study show that flows in corners of the fan/booster, such as the fan hub region, the tip and hub of the vanes of the booster, are very complex and dominated by 3-D effects. The secondary flows there are found to have a strong detrimental effect on the compressor performance. The effects of both end-bending and bow can improve the flow separation in corners, but the specific ways they work and application scope are somewhat different. Redesigning the blades via blade 3-D optimization to control the corner flow has effectively reduced the loss generation and improved the stall margin by a large amount. | Fang Zhu Donghai Jin Xingmin Gui | 2012 | Journal of Thermal Science2012,21,1: | 6
Investigation of Non-Axisymmetric Endwall Contouring in a Compressor Cascade显示文摘The current paper presents experimental and computational results to assess the effectiveness of non-axisymmetric endwall contouring in a compressor linear cascade. The endwall was designed by an endwall design optimization platform at 0° incidence(design condition). The optimization method is based on a genetic algorithm. The design objective was to minimize the total pressure losses. The experiments were carried out in a compressor cascade at a low-speed test facility with a Mach number of 0.15. Four nominal inlet flow angles were chosen to test the performance of non-axisymmetric Contoured Endwall(CEW). A five-hole pressure probe with a head diameter of 2 mm was used to traverse the downstream flow fields of the flat-endwall(FEW) and CEW cascades. Both the measured and predicted results indicated that the implementation of CEW results in smaller corner stall, and reduction of total pressure losses. The CEW gets 15.6% total pressure loss coefficient reduction at design condition, and 22.6% at off-design condition(+7° incidence). And the mechanism of the improvement of CEW based on both measured and calculated results is that the adverse pressure gradient(APG) has been reduced through the groove configuration near the leading edge(LE) of the suction surface(SS). | LIU Xiwu JIN Donghai GUI Xingmin | 2017 | Journal of Thermal Science2017,26,6: | 5
Artemisinin ameliorated proteinuria in rats with adriamycin-induced nephropathy through regulating nephrin and podocin expressions显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of artemisinin against proteinuria and glomerular filtration barrier damage in rats with adriamycin-induced nephropathy, and the potential mechanism underpinned the action.METHODS:Forty adriamycin rats were randomly divided into two groups with the ratio of 1︰3;the small-number group served as control group(n=10),and the rats in the large-number group were treated with adriamycin to induce nephropathy;then they were further randomly assigned into 3subgroups:benazepril group(n=10),artemisiningroup(n=10),and adriamycin group(n=10).The benazepril group and artemisinin group were treated with benazepril suspl(5.0 mg/kg daily)and artemisinin suspl(150 mg/kg daily)respectively after being modeled;those in the control group and adriamycin group were intragastrically administered an equivalent volume of distilled water every day.The treatment after model establishment lasted for a total of 4 weeks. The 24 h uric protein, blood biochemicals, renal pathological changes, renal ultrastrutural changes,Nephrin and Podocin proteins and gene expressions were measured by Coomassie brilliant blue assay, completely automatic biochemical analyzer, light microscope, electron microscopy,Western blot and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, respectively.RESULTS:The rats in adriamycin group showed a significant increase in 24 h uric protein excretion, serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),serum creatinine(Scr)and decrease in albumin(Alb)(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Compared with adriamycin group, artemisinin could reduce uric protein excretion, decrease the serum TC,TG elevation, increase the serum Alb level,up-regulate the expressions of Nephrin and Podocin(P<0.05 or P<0.01),but no statistical significance effects on the levels of BUN,Scr in artemisinin group(P>0.05).The renal pathological and ultrastrutural observation indicate that artemisinin could attenuate the severity of foot process effacement and fusion in the nephropathic rats.CONCLUSION:Artemisinin might have an effect on the nephropathy in rats caused by adriamycin, which may be at least partly correlated with attenu-ation of the severity of foot process effacement and fusion,up-regulation of the expressions of Nephrin and Podocin in the glomeruli in the rats. | Xili Wu Peng An Bingyu Ye Xingmin Shi Huimin Dang Rongguo Fu Chenglin Qiao | 2014 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,1: | 5
Effect of blade sweep on inlet flow in axial compressor cascades显示文摘This paper presents comparative numerical studies to investigate the effects of blade sweep on inlet flow in axial compressor cascades. A series of swept and straight cascades was modeled in order to obtain a general understanding of the inlet flow field that is induced by sweep.A computational fluid dynamics(CFD) package was used to simulate the cascades and obtain the required three-dimensional(3D) flow parameters. A circumferentially averaged method was introduced which provided the circumferential fluctuation(CF) terms in the momentum equation.A program for data reduction was conducted to obtain a circumferentially averaged flow field. The influences of the inlet flow fields of the cascades were studied and spanwise distributions of each term in the momentum equation were analyzed. The results indicate that blade sweep does affect inlet radial equilibrium. The characteristic of radial fluid transfer is changed and thus influencing the axial velocity distributions. The inlet flow field varies mainly due to the combined effect of the radial pressure gradient and the CF component. The axial velocity varies consistently with the incidence variation induced by the sweep, as observed in the previous literature. In addition, factors that might influence the radial equilibrium such as blade camber angles, solidity and the effect of the distance from the leading edge are also taken into consideration and comparatively analyzed. | Chang Hao Zhu Fang Jin Donghai Gui Xingmin | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2015,28,1: | 5
Modeling and Numerical Investigation of the Inlet Circumferential Fluctuationsof Swept and Bowed Blades显示文摘The circumferential fluctuation(CF) source terms induced by the inviscid blade force can affect the inlet distribution of flow parameters and radial equilibrium of swept and bowed blades. However, these phenomena cannot be adequately described by throughflow methods based on the axisymmetric assumption. A transport model for the CF stresses is proposed and correlated to the distribution of circulation to reflect the effect of the inviscid blade force. To investigate the effect of the inlet CFs on swept and bowed blades, the model is integrated into a throughflow model and applied to a series of cascades with different sweep and bow angles. For swept cascades, the CF source terms change the distributions of incidence angles, as well as the radial equilibrium at the inlet of the blade passage. And the influence is enhanced as the absolute value of the sweep angle increases. For bowed cascades, the distributions of incidence angles are also altered. For both cases, the model can offer a good prediction of the inlet CF source terms, and prove to exert a better prediction of blade design key parameters such as flow angles. | TANG Mingzhi JIN Donghai GUI Xingmin | 2017 | Journal of Thermal Science2017,26,1: | 4
Fractal kinetic characteristics for dissolving and leaching processes of strontium residue显示文摘The pore structural characteristics of strontium residue were studied with the N2 adsorption method(ASAP2010).The kinetic properties concerning dissolving and leaching strontium waste were described by determining the concentrations of Sr2+,Ba2+ and soluble sulphides in solutions. The results showed that the specific surface area and pore volume increased with decreasing granule diameter, and the micropore surface of the residue was fractal. In the dissolving and leaching processes of strontium residue, soluble ion concentrations increased with decreasing granule diameter of the residue, and the reaction dimension was lower than the fractal dimension of pore surface.Sr2+ and soluble sulphide concentrations significantly exceeded the defined standard values, while Ba2+ concentrations did not, either in the dissolving or leaching solutions. In addition, dissolving and leaching reactions selectively occurred on the micropore surface of strontium residue. | XU Longjun WANG Xingmin QU Ge ZHOU Zhengguo YUE Fenhua | 2010 | Chinese Journal Of Geochemistry2010,29,4: | 4
Numerical Investigation of Base-Setting of Stator's Stagger Angles for a 15-stage Axial-Flow Compressor显示文摘A 15-stage axial-flow compressor utilized in steel industry was studied in this paper. All the stator's stagger angles of the compressor are variable to ensure the multistage compressor operate effectively within a wide range of flow rate and meanwhile satisfy the demand for sufficient pressure ratio, adiabatic efficiency and stall margin. Three in all different base-settings of stator's stagger angles were presented and commercial CFD software was applied to obtain the overall performance characteristics. The results showed that both of the optimized base-settings improved the performances both in summer and winter conditions, although the adiabatic efficiency was somewhat decreased. Taking incidence angle and stage loading into consideration, differences among the three cases were analyzed in detail. On the basis of numerical computations, the performance could be effectively improved through adjusting the base-setting of stator's stagger angles. | CHANG Hao ZHAO Weiguang JIN Donghai PENG Zeyan GUI Xingmin | 2014 | Journal of Thermal Science2014,23,1: | 3
