1急性下呼吸道感染儿童的维生素D摄入显示文摘目的明确维生素D(Vit D)摄入是否与儿童急性下呼吸道感染(ALRI)相关。方法比较因毛细支气管炎或肺炎入院的5岁以下儿童和非配对、无呼吸道感染的同龄对照组儿童之间Vit D摄入的差别。197例儿童的看护人完成了问卷调查,内容包括人口统计变量、ALRI危险因素和饮食。评估ALRI与Vit D摄入及其他危险因素的相关性。结果 ALRI组儿童的平均Vit D摄入为每日48 IU/kg,对照组为每日60 IU/kg。当控制年龄、民族、社会经济地位、北部地区居住、母乳喂养、免疫接种和接触吸烟等因素时,Vit D每日摄入<80 IU/kg的儿童患ALRI的可能性比每日摄入≥80 IU/kg的儿童高4倍(OR=4.9;95%CI:1.5~16.4)。结论为了避免罹患ALRI等疾病,5岁以下儿童可能需要摄入比现在推荐量更高的Vit D剂量。因毛细支气管炎和肺炎是年幼儿童住院的最常见原因,增加Vit D的补充可能有重要的公共卫生保健意义。Karen S Leis J Dayre McNally Matthew R Montgomery Koravangattu Sankaran Chandima Karunanayake Alan M Rosenberg 马丽亚(译) 2012中国当代儿科杂志2012,14,1:25
2Culturally adapted pictorial screening tool for autism spectrum disorder:A new approach显示文摘AIM To assess the performance of a newly designed,culturally adapted screening tool for autism spectrum disorder(ASD).METHODS Items for the screening tool were modeled from already documented checklists and diagnostic criteria for ASD.Each item in text was paired with a photograph that illustrated the written content,which was in the 2 main local languages.The final product had 21 items and was named the pictorial autism assessment schedule(PAAS).Performance of PAAS was tested on a clinical sample of 18-48 mo old children,diagnosis na?ve,presenting with developmental deficits.Mothers completed PAAS checklist.Based on clinical diagnosis,which was taken as the gold standard,children were later grouped into ASD(Group 1) and non-ASD developmental disorders(Group 2).Mothers of a control sample of typically developing children also completed PAAS(Group 3).RESULTS A total of 105 children(Group 1-45,Group 2-30,Group 3-30) participated in the study.Mean age of Group 1 and Group 2 were 36 and 40 mo respectively.Majority were male in all 3 groups.Performance of PAAS in discriminating between ASD and non-ASD developmental disorders was sensitivity 88.8%,specificity 60.7%,positive predictive value(PPV) 78.4%,negative predictive value(NPV) 77.2%,likelihood ratio(LR+) 2.26,and LR-0.18.Performance of PAAS in discriminating between ASD and typical development was sensitivity 88.0%,specificity 93.3%,PPV 95.2%,NPV 84.0%,LR+ 13.3 and LR- 0.12.The results indicated that that a positive result from PAAS was 2.26 times more likely to be found in a child with ASD than in a child with non-ASD developmental disorder.A positive result from PAAS was 13.3 times more likely to be found in a child with ASD than in a child with typical development.CONCLUSION PAAS is an effective tool in screening for ASD.Further study is indicated to evaluate the feasibility of using this instrument for community screening for ASD.Hemamali Perera Kamal Chandima Jeewandara Sudarshi Seneviratne Chandima Guruge 2017World Journal of Clinical Pediatrics2017,6,1:2

18Morphological characterization, antioxidant capacity and diversity of Syzygium cumini trees from Sri Lanka显示文摘Syzygium cumini(L.)Skeels(Madan)is widely distributed in South Asian countries,including Sri Lanka,where it was naturally found.There were only few studies reported on S.cumini for its values and other benefits in Sri Lanka.This study focuses on morphological characterization and the diversity of S.cumini trees in seven locations of Sri Lanka.Data were collected on different morphological traits.Leaf,flower and fruit morphology showed significant differences among locations.Further,trees from Batticaloa region showed different morphology,which would potentially open a different avenue for further study to trace different cultivars across the country.Results of the diversity index and multivariate analyses indicated high diversity in morphology and antioxidant capacity of trees.The variables such as leaf area,inter-nodal length,petiole length,anther length,filament length,fruit size and pericarp thickness could be suitable candidates to investigate the morphological variation of S.cumini any further.Antioxidant capacity studies also showed significant differences among locations and trees.Fruit hue angle was positively correlated to antioxidant capacities.Finding of this study concluded that the wide distribution of S.cumini trees throughout Sri Lanka in different geographical locations showed high diversity in leaf,flower and fruit morphology together with antioxidant capacity.Prasajith Kapila Dissanayake Wekumbure Gedara Chandima Wekumbura Alge Watage Wijeratne Douglas Siril Abeywickrama Wijesundara 2022Horticultural Plant Journal2022,8,1:0
