Metal-Organic Framework Nanocarriers for Drug Delivery in Biomedical Applications显示文摘Investigation of metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)for biomedical applications has attracted much attention in recent years.MOFs are regarded as a promising class of nanocarriers for drug delivery owing to well-defined structure, ultrahigh surface area and porosity, tunable pore size, and easy chemical functionalization. In this review, the unique properties of MOFs and their advantages as nanocarriers for drug delivery in biomedical applications were discussed in the first section.Then,state-ofthe-art strategies to functionalize MOFs with therapeutic agents were summarized, including surface adsorption, pore encapsulation, covalent binding, and functional molecules as building blocks. In the third section, the most recent biological applications of MOFs for intracellular delivery of drugs, proteins, and nucleic acids, especially aptamers, were presented. Finally, challenges and prospects were comprehensively discussed to provide context for future development of MOFs as efficient drug delivery systems. | Yujia Sun Liwei Zheng Yu Yang Xu Qian Ting Fu Xiaowei Li Zunyi Yang He Yan Cheng Cui Weihong Tan | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,8: | 10
Remote Sensing Monitoring of Tobacco Field Based on Phenological Characteristics and Time Series Image―A Case Study of Chengjiang County, Yunnan Province, China显示文摘Using three-phase remote sensing images of China-Brazil Earth Resources Satellite 02B (CBERS02B) and Landsat-5 TM, tobacco field was extracted by the analysis of time series image based on the different phenological characteristics between tobacco and other crops. The spectral characteristics of tobacco and corn in luxuriant growth stage are very similar, which makes them difficult to be distinguished using a single-phase remote sensing image. Field film after tobacco seedlings transplanting can be used as significant sign to identify tobacco. Remote sensing interpre- tation map based on the fusion image of TM and CBERS02B's High-Resolution (HR) camera image was used as stan- dard reference material to evaluate the classification accuracy of Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM) and Maximum Like- lihood Classifier (MLC) for time series image based on full samples test method. SAM has higher classification accu- racy and stability than MLC in dealing with time series image. The accuracy and Kappa of tobacco coverage extracted by SAM are 83.4% and 0.692 respectively, which can achieve the accuracy required by tobacco coverage measurement in a large area. | PENG Guangxiong DENG Lei CUI Weihong MING Tao SHEN Wei | 2009 | Chinese Geographical Science2009,19,2: | 8
Impacts of Land Cover Changes on Ecosystem Carbon Stocks Over the Transboundary Tumen River Basin in Northeast Asia显示文摘Understanding the effects of land cover changes on ecosystem carbon stocks is essential for ecosystem management and environmental protection, particularly in the transboundary region that has undergone marked changes. This study aimed to examine the impacts of land cover changes on ecosystem carbon stocks in the transboundary Tumen River Basin(TTRB). We extracted the spatial information from Landsat Thematic Imager(TM) and Operational Land Imager(OLI) images for the years 1990 and 2015 and obtained convincing estimates of terrestrial biomass and soil carbon stocks with the InVEST model. The results showed that forestland, cropland and built-up land increased by 57.5, 429.7 and 128.9 km2, respectively, while grassland, wetland and barren land declined by 24.9, 548.0 and 43.0 km2, respectively in the TTRB from 1990 to 2015. The total carbon stocks encompassing aboveground, belowground, soil and litter layer carbon storage pools have declined from 831.48 Tg C in 1990 to 831.42 Tg C in 2015 due to land cover changes. In detail, the carbon stocks decreased by 3.13 Tg C and 0.44 Tg C in Democratic People's Republic of Korea(North Korea) and Russia, respectively, while increased by 3.51 Tg C in China. Furthermore, economic development, and national policy accounted for most land cover changes in the TTRB. Our results imply that effective wetland and forestland protection policies among China, North Korea, and Russia are much needed for protecting the natural resources, promoting local ecosystem services and regional sustainable development in the transnational area. | XIANG Hengxing JIA Mingming WANG Zongming LI Lin MAO Dehua ZHANG Da CUI Guishan ZHU Weihong | 2018 | Chinese Geographical Science2018,28,6: | 6
Antifatigue,Antioxidant and Immunoregulatory Effects of Peptides Hydrolyzed from Manchurian Walnut(Juglans mandshurica Maxim.) on Mice显示文摘The Manchurian walnut(Juglans mandshurica Maxim.) is rich in proteins, whereas this resource has not been used efficiently. The antifatigue, antioxidative and immunoregulatory effects of Manchurian walnut hydrolysate peptides(MWHPs)were evaluated in this study. MWHPs with a degree of hydrolysis of 32.23% were ultrafiltered and divided into three fractions, namely, high(> 10 k Da), medium(3–10 kDa), and low molecular weight(< 3 kDa), and then fed to mice continuously at doses of 200, 400 or 800 mg/(kg·d). The antifatigue, antioxidative, and immunoregulatory effects of the peptides were tested on the second and fourth weeks of MWHP administration. Results showed that low-molecular-weight MWHPs exerted significant antifatigue(prolonging swimming time, elevating liver glycogen contents, and reducing lactic acid contents), antioxidative(enhancing superoxide dismutase(SOD), GSH-Px, and catalase(CAT) activities and reducing malondialdehyde(MDA) content), and immunoregulatory(raising the immune-organ index and promoting T-lymphocyte proliferation and s Ig A secretion in the intestinal tract) effects. This research indicates that MWHPs have potential applications in health care and may be developed as a base for new functional foods. | FANG Li REN Dayong CUI Lingyu LIU Chunlei WANG Ji LIU Wei MIN Weihong LIU Jingsheng | 2018 | Grain & Oil Science and Technology2018,1,1: | 6

Extract from Buthus martensii Karsch is associated with potassium channels on glioma cells显示文摘Catilan extracted from Leiurus quinquestriatus is a specific ion channel blocker. It can specifically bind chloride channels of glioma cells and kill these tumor cells. The questions remain as to whether antigliomatin, the extract from scorpion venom of Buthus martensii Karsch in China, can inhibit glioma growth, and whether this inhibition is correlated with ion channels of tumor cells. The present study treated rat C6 glioma cells with 0.8,1.2,and 1.6 μg/mL antigliomatin for 20 hours.Whole-cell patch clamp technique showed that antigliomatin delayed rectifier potassium channels of C6 glioma cells.Antigliomatin inhibited tumor growth, which could potentially involve potassium channels of tumor cells. | Mingxian Li Hongmei Meng Shao Wang Min Huang Li Cui Weihong Lin | 2011 | Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,15: | 2
Fouling behavior of poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)ultrafiltration membrane by polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)and chemical cleaning method显示文摘Severe fouling to poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)membrane is usually caused as filtrating the papermaking wastewater in the ultrafiltration(UF)process. In the paper, fouling behavior and mechanism were investigated, and the low-concentration polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)contained in the sedimentation tank wastewater was found as the main foulant.Consequently, the corresponding cleaning approach was proposed. The experiment and modeling results elaborated that the fouling mode developed from pore blockage to cake layer along with filtration time.Chemical cleaning conditions including the composition and concentration of reagents, cleaning duration and trans-membrane pressure were investigated for their effect on cleaning efficiency.Pure water flux was recovered by over 95% after cleaning the PVDF membrane using the optimal conditions 0.5 wt% NaClO(as oxidant)and 0.1 wt% sodiumdodecyl benzene sulfonate(SDBS,as surfactant)at 0.04MPa for 100 min.In the chemical cleaning method, hypochlorite(ClO−)could first chain-scissor PVA macromolecules to small molecules and SDBS could wrap the fragments in micelles,so that the foulants were removed from the pores and surface of membrane. After eight cycling tests, pure water flux recovery maintained above 95% and the reused membrane was found intact without defects. | Weijie Ding Min Chen Ming Zhou Zhaoxiang Zhong Zhaoliang Cui Weihong Xing | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,12: | 2
Evaluation of semivariogram features for objectbased image classification显示文摘Inclusion of textures in image classification has been shown beneficial. This paper studies an efficient use of semivariogram features for object-based high-resolution image classification.First,an input image is divided into segments, for each of which a semivariogram is then calculated.Second, candidate features are extracted as a number of key locations of the semivariogram functions. Then we use an improved Relief algorithm and the principal component analysis to select independent and significant features. Then the selected prominent semivariogram features and the conventional spectral features are combined to constitute a feature vector for a support vector machine classifier. The effect of such selected semivariogram features is compared with those of the gray-level co-occurrence matrix(GLCM)features and window-based semivariogram texture features(STFs).Tests with aerial and satellite images show that such selected semivariogram features are of a more beneficial supplement to spectral features. The described method in this paper yields a higher classification accuracy than the combination of spectral and GLCM features or STFs. | Xian WU Jianwei PENG Jie SHAN Weihong CUI | 2015 | Geo-Spatial Information Science2015,18,4: | 2
Direct measurement of the linear energy transfer of ions in silicon for space application显示文摘The single event effect(SEE) is an important consideration in electronic devices used in space environments because it can lead to spacecraft anomalies and failures. The linear energy transfer(LET) of ions is commonly investigated in studies of SEE. The use of a thin detector is an economical way of directly measuring the LET in space. An LET telescope consists of a thin detector as the front detector(D1), along with a back detector that indicates whether D1 was penetrated. The particle radiation effect monitor(PREM) introduced in this paper is designed to categorize the LET into four bins of 0.2–0.4, 0.4–1.0, 1.0–2.0 and 2.0–20 Me V·cm^2/mg, and one integral bin of LET>20 Me V·cm^2/mg. After calibration with heavy ions and Geant4 analysis, the LET boundaries of the first four bins are determined to be 0.236, 0.479, 1.196, 2.254, and 17.551 Me V·cm^2/mg, whereas that of the integral bin is determined to be LET>14.790 Me V·cm^2/mg. The acceptances are calculated by Geant4 analysis as 0.452, 0.451, 0.476, 0.446, and 1.334, respectively. The LET accuracy is shown to depend on the thickness of D1; as D1 is made thinner, the accuracy of the measured values increases. | CHEN HongFei YU XiangQian SHAO SiPei SHI WeiHong CUI ZhanGuo XIANG HongWen HAO ZhiHua ZOU JiQing ZHONG WeiYing ZOU Hong | 2016 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2016,59,1: | 2
RNA-induced liquid phase separation of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein facilitates NF-kB hyper-activation and inflammation显示文摘The ongoing 2019 novel coronavirus disease(COVID-19)caused by SARS-CoV-2 has posed a worldwide pandemic and a major global public health threat. The severity and mortality of COVID-19 are associated with virus-induced dysfunctional inflammatory responses and cytokine storms. However, the interplay between host inflammatory responses and SARS-CoV-2 infection remains largely unknown. Here,we demonstrate that SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid(N)protein, the major structural protein of the virion, promotes the virus-triggered activation of NF-kB signaling. After binding to viral RNA,N protein robustly undergoes liquid-liquid phase separation(LLPS),which recruits TAK1 and IKK complex, the key kinases of NF-kB signaling,to enhance NF-kB activation.Moreover,1,6-hexanediol,the inhibitor of LLPS,can attenuate the phase separation of N protein and restrict its regulatory functions in NF-kB activation. These results suggest that LLPS of N protein provides a platform to Induce NF-kB hyper-activation,which could be a potential therapeutic target against COVID-19 severe pneumonia. | Yaoxing Wu Ling Ma Sihui Cai Zhen Zhuang Zhiyao Zhaou Shouheng Jin Weihong Xie Lingli Zhou Lei Zhang Jincun Zhao Jun Cui | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,5: | 2
The role of temperature as a driver of metabolic flexibility in the Red-billed Leiothrix(Leiothrix lutea)显示文摘Background:The thermoregulatory ability of animals is strongly influenced by the temperature of their environment.Acclimation to cold requires a range of physiological and morphological adjustments. In this study,we tested the hypothesis that a small passerine, the Red-billed Leiothrix(Leiothrix lutea),can maintain homeothermy in cold conditions by adjusting the physiology and biochemistry of its tissue and organs and return to its former physiological and biochemical state when moved to a warm temperature. Methods:Phenotypic variation in thermogenic activity of the Red-billed Leiothrixs(Leiothrix lutea)was investigated under warm(35℃),normal(25℃)or cold(15℃)ambient temperature conditions.Oxygen consumption was measured using an open-circuit respirometry system.Mitochondrial state-4 respiration and cytochrome-c oxidase(COX)activity in liver, kidney heart and pectoral muscle were measured with a Clark electrode. Results:Birds acclimated to an ambient temperature of 15℃ for 4 weeks significantly increased their basal metabolic rate(BMR)compared to a control group kept at 25℃.Birds acclimated to 35℃ decreased their BMR,gross energy intake(GEI)and digestible energy intake(DEI).Furthermore, birds acclimated to 15℃ increased state-4 respiration in their pectoral muscles and cytochrome-c oxidase(COX)activity in their liver and pectoral muscle, compared to the 25℃ control group.Birds acclimated to 35℃ also displayed lower state-4 respiration and COX activity in the liver, heart and pectoral muscles, compared to those kept at 25℃.There was a positive correlation between BMR and state-4 respiration, and between BMR and COX activity,in all of the above organs except the liver and heart. Conclusions:Our study illustrates that the morphological, physiological, and enzymatic changes are associated with temperature acclimation in the Red-billed Leiothrix, and supports the notion that the primary means by which small birds meet the energetic challenges of cold conditions is through metabolic adjustments. | Danqi Cui Na Wang Jingru Ge Jiaying Xu Weihong Zheng Jinsong Liu | 2019 | Avian Research2019,10,4: | 2
Influence of Coal Nature and Structure on Ash Size Formation Characteristic and Related Pollutant Emissions During CFB Combustion显示文摘The size distribution of coal particles in a Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) boiler plays a crucial role in the complicated combustion, heat exchange and pollutant emissions in such a plat. Therefore, it is fundamental to study the different factors having influence on the size distribution of coal particles. Above all, the coal itself and in particular, the coal combination phenomenon is a very influent factor. In the frame of this work, the coal nature (elementary composition) and coal internal structure (mineral components) are studied in detail. At this intermediary stage, experiments on three typical Chinese coals on a l.5 MWt CFBC pilot plant have been made. Some primary fragmentation tests have also been made in a small lab scale fluidized bed reactor. The results from the hot pilot test show i) the variation of coal ash distributions and other CFB performance data due to the cyclone and the coal characteristics and ii) the variation of desulfurization efficiency with limestone. Whereas the bench scale primary fragmentation test, likely linked to the caking propriety of a coal, does not seem to change considerably the char size distribution. | Min QIAN Arnaud BOELLE Philippe JAUD ( Electricite de France Division R&D, 6 quai Watier B.P.49 78401 Chatou, France ) Yongjie NA Qinggang LU Shaolin BAO ding CUI Weihong JIAO Huanming ZHAO (Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academ | 2000 | Journal of Thermal Science2000,9,3: | 2

Phase-separated nucleocapsid protein of SARS-CoV-2 suppresses cGAS-DNA recognition by disrupting cGAS-G3BP1 complex显示文摘Currently, the incidence and fatality rate of SARS-CoV-2 remain continually high worldwide.COVID-19 patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 exhibited decreased type I interferon(IFN-I)signal,along with limited activation of antiviral immune responses as well as enhanced viral infectivity.Dramatic progresses have been made in revealing the multiple strategies employed by SARS-CoV-2 in impairing canonical RNA sensing pathways. However,it remains to be determined about the SARS-CoV-2 antagonism of cGAS-mediated activation of IFN responses during infection. In the current study,we figure out that SARS-CoV-2 infection leads to the accumulation of released mitochondria DNA(mtDNA),which in turn triggers cGAS to activate IFN-I signaling. As countermeasures,SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid(N)protein restricts the DNA recognition capacity of cGAS to impair cGAS-induced IFN-I signaling.Mechanically,N protein disrupts the assembly of cGAS with its co-factor G3BP1 by undergoing DNA-induced liquid-liquid phase separation(LLPS),subsequently impairs the double-strand DNA(dsDNA)detection ability of cGAS.Taken together, our findings unravel a novel antagonistic strategy by which SARS-CoV-2 reduces DNA-triggered IFN-I pathway through interfering with cGAS-DNA phase separation. | Sihui Cai Chenqiu Zhang Zhen Zhuang Shengnan Zhang Ling Ma Shuai Yang Tao Zhou Zheyu Wang Weihong Xie Shouheng Jin Jincun Zhao Xiangdong Guan Jianfeng Wu Jun Cui Yaoxing Wu | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,5: | 1
