| 1 | Impacts of Land Cover Changes on Ecosystem Carbon Stocks Over the Transboundary Tumen River Basin in Northeast Asia显示文摘Understanding the effects of land cover changes on ecosystem carbon stocks is essential for ecosystem management and environmental protection, particularly in the transboundary region that has undergone marked changes. This study aimed to examine the impacts of land cover changes on ecosystem carbon stocks in the transboundary Tumen River Basin(TTRB). We extracted the spatial information from Landsat Thematic Imager(TM) and Operational Land Imager(OLI) images for the years 1990 and 2015 and obtained convincing estimates of terrestrial biomass and soil carbon stocks with the InVEST model. The results showed that forestland, cropland and built-up land increased by 57.5, 429.7 and 128.9 km2, respectively, while grassland, wetland and barren land declined by 24.9, 548.0 and 43.0 km2, respectively in the TTRB from 1990 to 2015. The total carbon stocks encompassing aboveground, belowground, soil and litter layer carbon storage pools have declined from 831.48 Tg C in 1990 to 831.42 Tg C in 2015 due to land cover changes. In detail, the carbon stocks decreased by 3.13 Tg C and 0.44 Tg C in Democratic People's Republic of Korea(North Korea) and Russia, respectively, while increased by 3.51 Tg C in China. Furthermore, economic development, and national policy accounted for most land cover changes in the TTRB. Our results imply that effective wetland and forestland protection policies among China, North Korea, and Russia are much needed for protecting the natural resources, promoting local ecosystem services and regional sustainable development in the transnational area. | XIANG Hengxing JIA Mingming WANG Zongming LI Lin MAO Dehua ZHANG Da CUI Guishan ZHU Weihong | 2018 | Chinese Geographical Science2018,28,6: | 6 |
| 2 | Data analysis of dose map verification for IMRT显示文摘In this paper we analyze the results of dose map verifications for patient’s IMRT (Intensity-modulated radiation therapy) plans and study the factors that may influence the accuracy of verification. MapCHECK, a two-dimensional diode array, was used to measure the dose maps for 1242 plans (14540 fields) from May 2004 to August 2008. The plans were designed with Pinnacle3 planning system. The passing rate of beams was determined when the acceptance criterion was 2%/2 mm, 3%/3 mm and 4%/4 mm. And the data with 3%/3 mm criteria was analyzed in more detail. The considered factors were beam modeling, optimization mode and treatment site. The median passing rate of total fields was 93.5%, 98.8%, and 100% when the acceptance criterion was 2%/2 mm, 3%/3 mm and 4%/4 mm, and the interquartile range were 11.1%, 3.8%, and 1.3%, respectively. The results of direct machine parameter optimization (DMPO) planning mode was better than those of multiple-step mode and beam modeling of new accelerators was better than that of old accelerators. These indicate that beam modeling is the key point of improving passing rate of IMRT verification and the influence of treatment site was little. The factors, the total number of segments, minimum area of segments and minimum monitor unit (MU) of segments, also influence the dosimetric accuracy of IMRT plan verification. | XU Yingjie DAI Jianrong FU Guishan ZHANG Yongqian ZHANG Ke CUI Weijie ZHANG Dandan JIANG Bo | 2009 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2009,20,5: | 0 |
| 3 | Assessing vulnerability of forests to climate change in South Korea显示文摘This study demonstrated a framework to assess vulnerability of forests to climate change. We focused on how alterations of temperature and precipitation might affect forest type distributions and carbon-related functions. In particular, our framework considered three sectors of forest type distribution, net primary production, and soil carbon storage. Future projections were derived from mechanistic models for South Korean forests under the A1 B scenarios of the intergovernmental panel on climate change. Forest type distributions were simulated by the Hydrological and thermal analogy group model, while the MAPSS and CENTURY1 models estimated forest carbon flux/storage. We quantified normalized vulnerability indices for each sector. Our results indicate that the overall vulnerability of forest type distribution is greater in the west central regions and southeastern inlands. The vulnerabilities of carbon flux/storage show that net primary production of South Korean forests is relatively less susceptible to climate change, but a highly vulnerable area of soil carbon storage mainly spreads from the west central to the south east region. The spatio-temporal vulnerability map with a synoptic overview from this study might be useful for policy makers in preparing adaptive measures and identifying management priorities. | Guishan Cui Hanbin Kwak Sungho Choi Moonil Kim Chul-Hee Lim Woo-Kyun Lee Joon-Soon Kim Yeora Chae | 2016 | Journal of Forestry Research2016,27,3: | 0 |
