| 2 | Discovery of eclogite at northern margin of Qaidam Basin,NW China显示文摘Eclogite was first discovered at the northern margin of the Qaidam Basin in this study. It occurs as pods in the gneiss sequence of Middle to Upper Proterozoic age and is mainly composed of garnet, omphacite, phengite and rutile. The garnets contain 44%-62% of almandine, 15%-33% of grossular and 12%-30% of pyrope molecules, and the omphacites contain 40%-46% of jadeite. | 3 | Three-dimensional in situ stress determination by anelastic strain recovery and its application at the Wenchuan Earthquake Fault Scientific Drilling Hole-1(WFSD-1)显示文摘In situ stress state becomes more and more significant with in-depth research on geodynamics and energy development.However,there has not been an economic and effective method developed to determine deep three-dimensional in situ stress.The Anelastic Strain Recovery(ASR)method is a newly developed technique that can determine three-dimensional in situ stresses.After the 12 May 2008 Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake,the ASR method was used for the first time in China's Mainland to measure the in situ stresses in the WFSD scientific boreholes in Sichuan Province,China.In this paper,the basic procedure of the ASR method is introduced in detail and the compliances of ASR for boring cores are investigated.The results show that the maximum principal stress direction was NW64°at a measured depth(MD)of 1173 m(vertical depth 1151 m)in WFSD-1.The ratio of shear mode to the volume mode compliance of ASR was 2.9.And the three principal stresses at 1173 m MD in WFSD-1are 43,28 and 25 MPa.Combined with stress measurement results determined using other in situ measurement methods along the Longmenshan fault zone,the directions of the maximum horizontal principal stress changes from E-W to NEE-SWW to NWW-SEE when moving from NE to SW along the Longmenshan fault zone.This change is in agreement with the stress regime of the Longmenshan fault zone of the Wenchuan Earthquake,which supports a stress regime consisting predominantly of thrusts in the southwest and strike-slip in the northeast. | SUN DongSheng LIN WeiRen CUI JunWen WANG HongCai CHEN QunCe MA YinSheng WANG LianJie | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,6: | 10 |
| 4 | Analysis of the Wenchuan Ms8.0 Earthquake's Co-seismic Stress and Displacement Change by Using the Finite Element Method显示文摘The variation of in situ stress before and after earthquakes is an issue studied by geologists. In this paper, on the basis of the fault slip dislocation model of Wenchuan Ms8.0 earthquake, the changes of co-seismic displacement and the distribution functions of stress tensor around the Longmen Shan fault zone are calculated. The results show that the co-seismic maximum surface displacement is 4.9 m in the horizontal direction and 6.5 m in the vertical direction, which is almost consistent with the on-site survey and GPS observations. The co-seismic maximum horizontal stress in the hanging wall and footwall decreased sharply as the distance from the Longmen Shan fault zone increased. However, the vertical stress and minimum horizontal stress increased in the footwall and in some areas of the hanging wall. The study of the co-seismic displacement and stress was mainly focused on the long and narrow region along the Longmen Shan fault zone, which coincides with the distribution of the earthquake aftershocks. Therefore, the co-seismic stress only affects the aftershocks, and does not affect distant faults and seismic activities. The results are almost consistent with in situ stress measurements at the two sites before and after Wenchuan Ms8.0 earthquake. Along the fault plane, the co-seismic shear stress in the dip direction is larger than that in the strike direction, which indicates that the faulting mechanism of the Longmen Shan fault zone is a dominant thrust with minor strike-slipping. | 5 | Content analysis of systematic reviews on effectiveness ofTraditional Chinese Medicine显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate evidence for the efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) in systematic reviews.METHODS:Chinese(TCM Periodical Literature Database,Chinese Biological Medicine database,Chinese Medical Current Contents,China Hospital Knowledge Database journal fulltext database,Virtual Machining and Inspection System,and Wanfang) and English(Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews,PubMed and Embase) databases were searched.RESULTS:Three thousand,nine hundred and fifty-five articles were initially identified,606 of which met the inclusion criteria,including 251 in English(83 from the Cochrane Database) and 355 in Chinese.The number of articles published each year increased between 1989 and 2009.Cardiocerebrovascular disease was the most studied target disease.Intervention measures included TCM preparations(177 articles),acupuncture(133 articles) and combinations of TCM and Western Medicine(38 articles).Control measures included positive medical(177 articles),basic treatment(100 articles),placebo(219 articles),and blank and mutual(107 articles).All articles included at least one reference;the greatest number was 268.Six of 10 articles with high quality references demonstrated curative effectsagainst target diseases including upper respiratory tract infection,dementia and depression.Interventions that were not recommended were tripterygium for rheumatoid arthritis and TCM syndrome differentiation for pediatric nocturia.In 10.4% of the studies,the authors concluded that the intervention had a curative effect.The assessors agreed with the authors' conclusions in 88.32% of cases,but rejected 8.94%(54 articles).CONCLUSION:1) Training in systematic review methods,including topic selection,study design,methods and technology,should be improved.2) Upper respiratory tract infection,dementia and depression may become the predominant diseases treated by TCM,and the corresponding interventions could be developed into practical applications.3) Use of non-recommended interventions should be controlled,and there should be more research on side effects. | Junwen Wang Meng Cui Hongguan Jiao Yuanyuan Tong Jun Xu Yingkai Zhao Mei Han Jianping Liu | 2013 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,2: | 7 |

| 7 | Etiology and Treatment of Post-surgical Blepharoptosis显示文摘Purpose: To investigate the etiology and the treatment of acquired blepharoptosis inpatients,.especially secondary to surgery.Methods: The clinical records of 65 consecutive patients with acquired ptosis were reviewed from an eye center and a comprehensive hospital..Potential factors responsible for acquired ptosis were investigated..Surgical management principles and post-operative exposure keratitis are discussed.Results:.The top three causes of acquired ptosis were postsurgical ptosis(20 / 65, 30.8%), traumatic ptosis(17 / 65,26.2%) and senile aponeurotic ptosis(12 / 65, 18.5%). Twenty patients had post-surgical ptosis secondary to orbital surgery(8 / 20, 40.0%), enucleation and hydroxyapatite(HA) artificial eye implantation(4 / 20, 20%), eyelid surgery(3 / 20,15%), cataract or glaucoma surgery(2 / 20, 10%), conjunctive surgery(2 / 20, 10%).and superior oblique muscle surgery(1 / 20, 5%). The levator palpebrae superioris(LPS) muscle of ten eyes(10 / 20, 50%) was found during exploration and reattached to the tarsal plate, with shortening of the LPS. Nine eyes(9 / 20, 45%) underwent a frontalis suspension(FS) operation because the LPS muscle was missing. One(1 / 20, 5%)patient was not operated on due to a poor Bell's phenomenon.Two patients(2 / 65, 3.1%)—one patient with post-surgical ptosis and another with aponeurotic ptosis—developed exposure keratitis after ptosis correction.Conclusion: Post-surgical ptosis is one of the most common causes of acquired ptosis. It is important to explore LPS muscle during surgery. LPS reattachment is performed if the muscle is found; otherwise, a FS operation is chosen. | 9 | Plasma Membrane Calcium ATPase Expression in Human Lens Epithelium Cell Lines显示文摘Purpose:To study the expression of four plasma membrane calcium ATPase (PMCA) isoforms in human lens epithelium cell lines (HLE-B3 cells) both on mRNA and protein levels.Methods:Both total mRNA and membrane protein samples were collected,after HLE-B3 cells were cultured to 90% confluency.Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) were used to detect mRNAs of PMCA isoform 1,2,3,and 4 by using corresponding PMCA isoform 1,2,3,and 4 primers.Western Blot analysis was employed to detect PMCA isoform 1,2,3,and 4 protein using corresponding anti-PMCA1,2,3,and 4 antibodies.Results:A 420 bp fragment was amplified with PMCA1 primer.A 550 bp fragment was amplified with PMCA2 primer.A 840 bp fragment was amplified with PMCA4 primer.No fragment was amplified with PMCA3 primer.Western Blotting confirmed that the expected ~153 kDa,~125 kDa and ~147 kDa protein were recognized by anti PMCA1,2 and 4 antibodies respectively.No protein was recognized by PMCA3 antibody.Conclusion:This is the first study showing only PMCA1,2,and 4 gene are expressed in HLE-B3 cells on both mRNA and protein level.PMCA3 is not expressed in HLE-B3 cells.The PMCA isoforms expression pattern in HLE-B3 cell lines is different from that in the lens of other species.PMCA2 may play a more important role over other isoforms. | Hui Yang Dongmei Cui Junwen Zeng | 2011 | Eye Science2011,26,1: | 2 |
| 10 | Structural architecture of Neoproterozoic rifting depression groups in the Tarim Basin and their formation dynamics显示文摘The Tarim Basin is the largest, oil-bearing, superimposed basin in the northwest of China. The evolution and tectonic properties of the initial Tarim Basin have been hotly disputed and remain enigmatic. The Neoproterozoic basin is covered by a vast desert and a huge-thickness of sedimentary strata, has experienced multiple tectonic movements, had a low signal to noise ratios(SNRs) of deep seismic reflection data, all of which have posed critical obstacles to research. We analysed four field outcrops, 18 wells distributed throughout the basin, 27 reprocessed seismic reflection profiles with higher SNRs across the basin and many ancillary local 2D and 3D profiles and aeromagnetic data. We found about 20 normal fault-controlled rifting depressions of the Cryogenian and Ediacaran scattered throughout the basin, which developed on the Precambrian metamorphic and crystalline basement. The structural framework is clearly different from that of the overlying Phanerozoic. The rifting depressions consist of mainly half grabens, symmetrical troughs and horst-grabens. From the northeast to southwest of the basin,they are divided into three rifting depression groups with the WNW, ENE, and NW-trends that are mainly controlled by normal faults. The maximum thicknesses of the strata are up to 4100 m. From the Cryogenian to Ediacaran, most of the main inherited faults to active and eventually ceased at the end of the Ediacaran or Early Cambrian, while subsidence centres appeared and migrated eastward along the faults. They revealed that the different parts of the Tarim continental block were in NNE-SSWoriented and NNW-SSE-oriented extensional paleo-stress fields(relative to the present) during the Neoproterozoic, and were accompanied by clockwise shearing. According to the analysis of the activities of syn-sedimentary faults, filling sediments,magmatic events, and coordination with aeromagnetic anomalies, the tectonic properties of the fault depressions are different and are primarily continental rifts or intra-continental fault-controlled basins. | 11 | Thrust Propagation in the Aqqikkol Lake Area, the East Kunlun Mountains, Northwestern China显示文摘The western segment of the East Kunlun Mountains is one of the poorly studied regions in northwesternChina. Through a structural analysis of the typical sections, we have the following views: (1) There is a very welldeveloped fault system in the western segment of the East Kunlun Mountains and thrust propagation, normal slip anddecoupling are the chief deformation events in this area. (2) Although the thrusting started in the Late Carboniferous andLate Triassic-Early Jurassic, strong activity took place in the Miocene-Quaternary when the Kumkol basin was stronglydownwarped. (3) The tectonic pattern of coexistence of N-directed thrust propagation and S-directed normal slip in thisarea is consistent with the general tectonic pattern of the northern Qinghai-Tibet plateau and also very similar to that of theHimalayan region on the southern margin of the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, but their directions between the thrust propagationare opposite and all the strong thmst propagations occurred from the Miocene-Pliocene to Quaternary. a period featuringstrong collision between the Indian plate and the Eurasian plate and abrupt uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet plateau. Thisoppositely directed thrust propagation and normal slip reveal such kinematic characteristics as symmetric propagations ofdeep-seated materials towards the north and south beneath the Qinghai-Tibet plateau and gravitational sliding ofsuperficial materials towards the interior of the plateau.
