| 1 | Role of MMP-2 and MMP-9 and their natural inhibitors in liver fibrosis, chronic pancreatitis and non-specific inflammatory bowel diseases显示文摘BACKGROUND: There is a growing evidence that matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2 and MMP-9 (gelatinases) play an important role in the pathogenesis of numerous disorders especially with inflammatory etiology and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. Despite the fact that gelatinases involve in liver cirrhosis is provided in the literature, their role in the pathogenesis of chronic pancreatitis and non-specific inflammatory bowel diseases is still under investigation.DATA SOURCES: We carried out a PubM ed search of English language articles relevant to the involvement of gelatinases in the pathogenesis of liver fibrosis, pancreatitis, and non-specific inflammatory bowel diseases.RESULTS: The decreased activity of gelatinases, especially MMP-2, is related to the development of liver fibrosis, probably due to the decrease of capability for ECM remodeling. Similar situation can be found in chronic pancreatitis; however reports on this matter are rare. | 3 | Effect of Long-Term Soil Management on the Mutual Interaction Among Soil Organic Matter, Microbial Activity and Aggregate Stability in a Vineyard显示文摘Vineyard management practices to enhance soil conservation principally focus on increasing carbon(C)input,whereas mitigating impacts of disturbance through reduced tillage has been rarely considered.Furthermore,information is lacking on the effects of soil management practices adopted in the under-vine zone on soil conservation.In this work,we evaluated the long-term effects(22 years)of alley with a sown cover crop and no-tillage(S+NT),alley with a sown cover crop and tillage(S+T),and under-vine zone with no vegetation and tillage(UV)on soil organic matter(SOM),microbial activity,aggregate stability,and their mutual interactions in a California vineyard in USA.Vegetation biomass,microbial biomass and activity,organic C and nitrogen(N)pools,and SOM size fractionation and aggregate stability were analysed.Soil characteristics only partially reflected the differences in vegetation biomass input.Organic C and N pools and microbial biomass/activity in S+NT were higher than those in S+T,while the values in UV were intermediate between the other two treatments.Furthermore,S+NT also exhibited higher particulate organic matter C in soil.No differences were found in POM C between S+T and UV,but the POM fraction in S+T was characterized by fresher material.Aggregate stability was decreased in the order:S+NT>UV>S+T.Tillage,even if shallow and performed infrequently,had a negative effect on organic C and N pools and aggregate stability.Consequently,the combination of a sown cover crop and reduced tillage still limited SOM accumulation and reduced aggregate stability in the surface soil layer of vineyards,suggesting relatively lower resistance of soils to erosion compared to no-till systems. | Sergio A.BELMONTE Luisella CELI Ruby J.STAHEL Eleonora BONIFACIO Vittorino NOVELLO Ermanno ZANINI Kerri L.STEENWERTH | 2018 | Pedosphere2018，28，2： | 3 |

| 5 | Ten years of hip fractures in Italy: For the first time a decreasing trend in elderly women显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the hospitalization rate of femoralneck fractures in the elderly Italian population over ten years.METHODS:We analyzed national hospitalizations records collected at central level by the Ministry of Health from 2000 to 2009.Age-and sex-specific rates of fractures occurred at femoral neck in people≥65 years old.We performed a sub-analysis over a three-year period(2007-2009),presenting data per five-year age groups,in order to evaluate the incidence of the hip fracture in the oldest population.RESULTS:We estimated a total of 839008 hospitalizations due to femoral neck fractures between 2000 and2009 in people≥65,with an overall increase of 29.8%over 10 years.The incidence per 10000 inhabitants remarkably increased in people≥75,passing from158.5 to 166.8(+5.2%)and from 72.6 to 77.5(+6.8%)over the ten-year period in women and men,respectively.The oldest age group(people>85 years old)accounted for more than 42%of total hospital admissions in 2009(n=39000),despite representing only 2.5%of the Italian population.Particularly,women aged>85accounted for 30.8%of total fractures,although they represented just 1.8%of the general population.The results of this analysis indicate that the incidence of hip fractures progressively increased from 2000 to 2009,but a reduction can be observed for the first time in women≤75(-7.9%between 2004 and 2009).CONCLUSION:Incidence of hip fractures in Italy are continuously increasing,although women aged 65-74years old started showing a decreasing trend. | Prisco Piscitelli Maurizio Feola Cecilia Rao Monica Celi Elena Gasbarra Cosimo Neglia Giuseppe Quarta Federico Maria Liuni Simone Parri Giovanni Iolascon Maria Luisa Brandi Alessandro Distante Umberto Tarantino | 2014 | World Journal of Orthopedics2014，5，3： | 2 |
