1Chemical characteristics of haze particles in Xi'an during Chinese Spring Festival: Impact of fireworks burning显示文摘Fireworks burning releases massive fine particles and gaseous pollutants, significantly deteriorating air quality during Chinese Lunar New Year(LNY) period. To investigate the impact of the fireworks burning on the atmospheric aerosol chemistry, 1-hr time resolution of PM_(2.5) samples in Xi'an during the winter of 2016 including the LNY were collected and detected for inorganic ions, acidity and liquid water content(LWC) of the fine aerosols. PM_(2.5) during the LNY was 167 ± 87 μg/m^3, two times higher than the China National Ambient Air Quality Standard(75 μg/m^3). K^+(28 wt.% of the total ion mass) was the most abundant ion in the LNY period, followed by SO_4^(2-)(25 wt.%) and Cl-(18 wt.%). In contrast, NO_3^-(34 wt.%) was the most abundant species in the haze periods(hourly PM32-2.5> 75 μg/m), followed by SO_4(29.2 wt.%) and NH_4^+(16.3 wt.%), while SO_4^(2-)(35 wt.%) was the most abundant species in the clean periods(hourly PM_(2.5)< 75 μg/m^3), followed by NO_3^-(23.1 wt.%) and NH_4^+(11 wt.%). Being different from the acidic nature in the non-LNY periods, aerosol in the LNY period presented an alkaline nature with a pH value of 7.8 ± 1.3. LWC during the LNY period showed a robust linear correlation with K_2SO_4 and KCl, suggesting that aerosol hygroscopicity was dominated by inorganic salts derived from fireworks burning. 3Influence of MoSi_(2) on oxidation protective ability of TaB_(2)-SiC coating in oxygen-containing environments within a broad temperature range显示文摘TaB_(2)-SiC coating modified by different content of MoSi_(2) was fabricated on graphite substrate with SiC inner coating by liquid phase sintering to elevate the anti-oxidation capability of the TaB_(2)-SiC coatings.As compared to the sample with the TaB_(2)-40wt% SiC coating,the coating sample modified with MoSi_(2) exhibited a weight gain trend at lower temperatures,the fastest weight loss rate went down by 76%,and the relative oxygen permeability value reduced from about 1% to near 0.More importantly,the large amount of SiO_(2) glass phase produced over the coating during oxidation was in contact with the modification of MoSi_(2),which was proved to be beneficial to the dispersion of Ta-oxides.A concomitantly formed continuous Ta-Si-O-B compound glass layer showed excellent capacity to prevent oxygen penetration.However,when the TaB_(2) content was sacrificed to increase the MoSi_(2) content,the relative oxygen permeability of the coating increased instead of decreased.Thus,on the basis of ample TaB_(2) content,increasing the MoSi_(2) content of the coating is conducive to reducing the relative oxygen permeability of the coatings in a broad temperature region.Xuanru REN Junshuai LV Wei LI Yuwen HU Ke SUN Can MA Hong’ao CHU Weiguang WANG Leihua XU Ziyu LI Peizhong FENG 2020Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,6:4
4Seasonal variation and size distribution of biogenic secondary organic aerosols at urban and continental background sites of China显示文摘Size-resolved biogenic secondary organic aerosols(BSOA) derived from isoprene and monoterpene photooxidation in Qinghai Lake, Tibetan Plateau(a continental background site) and five cities of China were measured using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry(GC/MS). Concentrations of the determined BSOA are higher in the cities than in the background and are also higher in summer than in winter. Moreover, strong positive correlations(R2= 0.44–0.90) between BSOA and sulfate were found at the six sites,suggesting that anthropogenic pollution(i.e., sulfate) could enhance SOA formation,because sulfate provides a surface favorable for acid-catalyzed formation of BSOA. Size distribution measurements showed that most of the determined SOA tracers are enriched in the fine mode(< 3.3 μm) except for cis-pinic and cis-pinonic acids, both presented a comparable mass in the fine and coarse(> 3.3 μm) modes, respectively. Mass ratio of oxidation products derived from isoprene to those from monoterpene in the five urban regions during summer are much less than those in Qinghai Lake region. In addition, in the five urban regions relative abundances of monoterpene oxidation products to SOA are much higher than those of isoprene. 5Ultrafast optical nonlinearity of blue-emitting perovskite nanocrystals显示文摘Perovskite nanocrystals(NCs) have strong nonlinear optical responses with a number of potential applications,ranging from upconverted blue-lasing to the tagging of specific cellular components in multicolor fluorescence microscopy. Here, we determine the one-photon linear absorption cross section of two kinds of blue-emitting perovskite NCs, i.e., CsPbCl_3 and CsPb(Cl_(0.53)Br_(0.47))_3, by utilizing femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy. The wavelength-dependent nonlinear refraction and two-photon absorption have been measured at wavelengths from 620 to 720 nm by performing Z-scan measurements. 6Fast response speed of mechanically exfoliated MoS2 modified by PbS in detecting NO2显示文摘MoS2,acting as a promising gas sensing material,has shown huge potential in monitoring of toxic and harmful gases at room temperature.However,MoS2-based gas sensors still suffer from poor gas sensing performance such as poor sensitivity,long response time.Constructing the hete ro structure is an effective approach to improve gas-sensing performance of MoS2.Herein,PbS@MoS2 composites synthesized by mechanical exfoliation combining with wet-chemical precipitation are used to investigate its performance in detecting NO2 at room temperature.The response value of PbS@MoS2 gas sensor against NO2 is significantly improved compared with the pure MoS2 gas sensor.At the same time,the modification with PbS also accelerates the response speed of MoS2,and the response time is almost reduced by two orders of magnitude,from hundreds of seconds to less than ten seconds.The enhanced response value and fast response time are mainly benefited from the modulation effect of NO2 to PbS@MoS2 heterostructure and the mechanically exfoliated MoS2 surface with few defects.This work can be expected to provide useful guidance for designing composite materials with excellent gas sensing properties.Junjiang Tan Jinyong Hu Jianxu Ren Jinfeng Peng Can Liu Yiqiao Song Yong Zhang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,8:2
7Correlation between serum miR-154-5p and urinary albumin excretion rates in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus:a cross-sectional cohort study显示文摘This study aimed to investigate the correlation between serum miR-154-5p and urinary albumin to creatinine ratio(UACR)in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and the association with biomarkers of inflammation and fibrosis in diabetic kidney disease(DKD).A total of 390 patients with T2DM were divided into three groups:normal albuminuria(UACR<30 mg/g,n=136,NA),microalbuminuria(UACR at 30-300 mg/g,n=132,MA),and clinical albuminuria(UACR>300 mg/g,n=122,CA).Circulating miR-154-5p,inflammatory(C-reactive protein(CRP);erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR);and tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-α)and fibrotic markers(vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF);transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1);and fibronectin(FN),and other biochemical indicators were assessed via real-time PCR,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,and chemiluminescence assay in patients with T2DM and 138 control subjects(NC).UACR,miR-154-5p,glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c),serum creatinine(sCr),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),ESR,CRP,VEGF,TNF-α,TGF-β1,and FN were significantly higher and the estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)was significantly lower in NA,MA,and CA groups than in NC subjects(P<0.05).Elevated levels of UACR and miR-154-5p were directly correlated with HbA1c,sCr,BUN,ESR,CRP,VEGF,TNF-α,TGF-β1,and FN and negatively correlated with eGFR(P<0.05).miR-154-5p,HbA1c,sCr,BUN,eGFR,ESR,CRP,VEGF,TNF-α,TGF-β1,and FN were important factors affecting UACR.These findings indicated that elevated serum miR-154-5p is significantly correlated with high UACR in patients with T2DM and may offer a novel reference for the early diagnosis of DKD.Huiwen Ren Can Wu Ying Shao Shuang Liu Yang Zhou Qiuyue Wan 2020Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,5:2

9Enhanced growth of crystalline-amorphous core-shell silicon nanowires by catalytic thermal CVD using in situ generated tin catalyst显示文摘In this work,we prepared silicon nanowires(Si NWs) on both fluorine-doped SnO 2(FTO) coated glass substrate and common glass substrate by catalytic thermal chemical vapor deposition(CVD) using indium film as the catalyst.It is confirmed that indium can catalyze the growth of Si NWs.More importantly,we found that tin generated in situ from the reduction of SnO 2 by indium can act as catalyst,which greatly enhances the growth of Si NWs on FTO substrate.The obtained Si NWs have a uniform crystalline-amorphous core-shell structure that is formed via vapor-liquid-solid and vapor-solid growth of silicon sequentially.This work provides a strategy to prepare Si NWs in high yield by catalytic thermal CVD using the low melting point metal catalysts.CHENG ShiMin REN Tong YING PinLiang YU Rui ZHANG WenHua ZHANG Jian LI Can 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,12:1

14A cytotoxic amyloid oligomer self-triggered and NIR- enhanced amyloidosis therapeutic system显示文摘We report a new strategy for improving the efficiency of non-specific amyloidosis therapeutic drugs by coating amyloid-responsive lipid bilayers. The approach had drawn inspiration from amyloid oligomer-mediated cell membrane disruption in the pathogenesis of amyloidosis. A graphene-mesoporous silica hybrid (GMS)-supported lipid bilayer (GMS-Lip) system was used as a drug carrier, Drugs were well confined inside the nanocarrier until encountering amyloid oligomers, which could pierce the lipid bilayer coat and cause drug release. To ensure release efficiency, use of a near-infrared (NIR) laser was also introduced to facilitate drug release, taking advantage of the photothermal effect of GMS and thermal sensitivity of lipid bilayers. To facilitate tracking, fluorescent dyes were co-loaded with drugs within GMS-Lip and the NIR laser was used once the oligomer-triggered release had been signaled. Because of the spatially and temporally controllable property of light, the NIR-assisted release could be easily and selectively activated locally by tracking the fluorescence signal. Our design is based on arnyloidosis pathogenesis, the cytotoxic amyloid oligomer self-triggered release via cell membrane disruption, for the controlled release of drug molecules. 15Promoting near-infrared photocatalytic activity of carbon-doped carbon nitride via solid alkali activation显示文摘Ultrabroad spectral absorption is required for semiconductor photocatalysts utilized for solar-to-chemical energy conversion.The light response range can be extended by element doping,but the photocatalytic performance is generally not enhanced correspondingly.Here we present a solid alkali activation strategy to synthesize near-infrared(NIR)light-activated carbon-doped polymeric carbon nitride(A-cPCN)by combining the copolymerization of melamine and 1,3,5-trimesic acid.The prepared A-cPCN is highly crystalline with a narrowed bandgap and enhanced efficiency in the separation of photogenerated electrons and holes.Under irradiation with NIR light(780 nm≥λ≥700 nm),A-cPCN shows an excellent photocatalytic activity for H_(2)generation from water with rate of 165µmol g^(−1)h^(−1),and the photo-redox activity for H_(2)O_(2)production(109µmol g^(−1)h^(−1))from H_(2)O and O_(2),whereas no observed photocatalytic activity over pure PCN.The NIR photocatalytic activity is due to carbon doping,which leads to the formation of an interband level,and the alkali activation that achieved shrinking the transfer distance of photocarriers.The current synergistic strategy may open insights to fabricate other carbon-nitrogen-based photocatalysts for enhanced solar energy capture and conversion.Qingfeng Li Can Ren Chuntian Qiu Tingchao He Qitao Zhang Xiang Ling Yangsen Xu Chenliang Su 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,11:1

18Sexual and spatio-temporal variation of Lake Erie Walleye growth and maturity:A consequence of multiple impacting factors显示文摘Sexual and spatio-temporal variations have been observed in the life history parameters of many aquatic species and their causes have been related to harvesting pressure and environmental changes.This study aims to explore sexual,spatial and temporal variation in the growth and maturity through weight-at-length,length-at-age,and maturity-at-length relationships for Lake Erie Walleye(Sander vitreus)as a case to test some hypotheses.Hypotheses on whether harvest pressure and environmental changes(both local and global scale)caused the temporal changes of these life history traits were further diagnosed.Sexual and spatio-temporal variations in these life history traits were formulated using mixed-effects models.Our study found that geographic basin,sex,year and cohort all have substantial effects on the growth and maturity of Walleye based on survey data from 1989 to 2015.Multiple factors including water supply of Lake Erie,temperature,fishing pressure of Walleye,and global climate factors were found to correlate with the temporal variations of growth and maturity of Walleye significantly.Our findings should contribute to the future interpretation of Walleye life history variations and population dynamics.The methodology constructed in this study could be applied to explore the heterogeneity and impacting factors for other species in aquatic ecosystems.Qiuyun Ma Yan Jiao Can Zhou Yiping Ren 2021Aquaculture and Fisheries2021,6,4:0

20Monolithic tapered Yb‑doped fber chirped pulse amplifer delivering 126μJ and 207 MW femtosecond laser with near difraction‑limited beam quality显示文摘In this work,a high-energy and high peak power chirped pulse amplifcation system with near difraction-limited beam quality based on tapered confned-doped fber(TCF)is experimentally demonstrated.The TCF has a core numerical aperture of 0.07 with core/cladding diameter of 35/250µm at the thin end and 56/400μm at the thick end.With a backward-pumping confguration,a maximum single pulse energy of 177.9μJ at a repetition rate of 504 kHz is realized,corresponding to an average power of 89.7 W.Through partially compensating for the accumulated nonlinear phase during the amplifcation process via adjusting the high order dispersion of the stretching chirped fber Bragg grating,the duration of the amplifed pulse is compressed to 401 fs with a pulse energy of 126.3μJ and a peak power of 207 MW,which to the best of our knowledge represents the highest peak power ever reported from a monolithic ultrafast fber laser.At the highest energy,the polarization extinction ratio and the M2 factor were respectively measured to be~19 dB and 1.20.In addition,the corresponding intensity noise properties as well as the short-and long-term stability were also examined,verifying a stable operation of the system.It is believed that the demonstrated laser source could fnd important applications in,for example,advanced manufacturing and photomedicine.Tao Wang Bo Ren Can Li Kun Guo Jinyong Leng Pu Zhou 2023Frontiers of Optoelectronics2023,16,3:0
