| 1 | SDF-1/CXCR4 axis modulates bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell apoptosis, migration and cytokine secretion显示文摘Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)are considered as a promising cell source to treat the acute myocardial infarction.However,over 90%of the stem cells usually die in the first three days of transplantation.Survival potential,migration ability and paracrine capacity have been considered as the most important three factors for cell transplantation in the ischemic cardiac treatment.We hypothesized that stromal-derived factor-1(SDF-1)/CXCR4 axis plays a critical role in the regulation of these processes.In this study,apoptosis was induced by exposure of MSCs to H2O2 for 2 h.After re-oxygenation,the SDF-1 pretreated MSCs demonstrated a significant increase in survival and proliferation.SDF-1 pretreatment also enhanced the migration and increased the secretion of pro-survival and angiogenic cytokines including basic fibroblast growth factor and vascular endothelial growth factor.Western blot and RT-PCR demonstrated that SDF-1 pretreatment significantly activated the pro-survival Akt and Erk signaling pathways and up-regulated Bcl-2/Bax ratio.These protective effects were partially inhibited by AMD3100,an antagonist of CXCR4.We conclude that the SDF-1/CXCR4 axis is critical for MSC survival,migration and cytokine secretion. | Xiaolei Liu Biyan Duan Zhaokang Cheng Xiaohua Jia Lina Mao Hao Fu Yongzhe Che Lailiang Ou Lin Liu Deling Kong | 2011 | Protein & Cell2011,2,10: | 53 |
| 2 | Efficacy of integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine and anti-retroviral therapy on immunological nonresponse in patients with human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome: a Meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To explore the efficacy of integrating Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)and anti-retroviral therapy(ART),a customized combination of different classes of medications which was also called cock-tail treatment,on the immunological nonresponse(INR)in people living with human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)(PLWH).METHODS:Relevant literature in databases such as China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database(CNKI),Wanfang Digital Journal,Chinese Medical Journal Database(CMJD),Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(CBM),Pub Med,Cochrane,and Embase was reviewed by two independent investigators.Data were extracted from the studies according to the eligible criteria and analyzed using Review Manager 5.3.RESULTS:Nine randomized controlled trials(RCTs)with 1078 patients were analyzed.Our analyses showed that CD4 T cell counts in the treatment group improved compared with that in the control group[mean difference(MD)=13.51,95%confidence interval(CI):7.42-19.60,P<0.0001].There was no significant difference between the treated and control groups after 3 months(MD=25.31,95%CI:-2.78 to 53.41,P=0.08).However,after 6 and 12 months,the response of the treatment group was superior to the control group(MD=27.45,95%CI:7.09-47.81,P=0.008 and MD=27.34,95%CI:6.31–48.37,P=0.01,respectively).The clinical efficacy of the treatment group was also higher than that of the control group(RR=1.75,95%CI:1.16-2.65,P=0.007).However,CD45 RO and CD45 RA T cell counts did not differ significantly between the two groups(MD=12.37,95%CI:-6.71 to 31.45,P=0.20 and MD=5.67,95%CI:-3.00 to14.35,P=0.20,respectively).CONCLUSION:The combined treatment strategy of integrated TCM and Western Medicine promotes long-term reconstitution of the immune system and thus,is beneficial and has potential use for improving INR in PLWH.However,large-scale RCTs are required to provide evidence for optimal intervention strategies. | TAO Zhuang HUANG Xiaojie LIU Ying WANG Ru DONG Jipeng LIANG Biyan ZOU Wen GAO Guojian WANG Zhuo ZHANG Ke WU Hao ZHANG Tong WANG Jian | 2021 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,5: | 6 |

| 6 | Reactive oxygen species and nitric oxide induce senescence of rudimentary leaves and the expression profiles of the related genes in Litchi chinensis显示文摘Litchi is one of the most important subtropical evergreen fruit trees in southern Asia.Previous studies indicated that high-temperature conditions encourage growth of rudimentary leaves in panicles and suppress flowering.We have demonstrated that methyl viologen dichloride hydrate(MV)and sodium nitroprusside(SNP)promoted flowering in litchi partially by inhibiting the growth of rudimentary leaves via reactive oxygen species(ROS)and nitric oxide(NO).In the present study,we examined the microstructure and ultrastructure,programmed cell death(PCD)ratio,nuclei morphology of the rudimentary leaves,and the expression of senescence-related genes after the treatment with ROS or NO.The results showed that chromatins of the ROS-or NO-treated cells in the rudimentary leaves were condensed.Fusion of the cytoplasm-digesting vesicles with the vacuole and degradation of cytoplasm forming scattered debris were found in those of the treated cells.Treatment with ROS or NO increased the cell PCD ratio.Morphology of the nuclei stained by propidium iodide(PI)showed that nuclei shape became irregular after the ROS or NO treatment.Further,the expression levels of LcRboh,LcMC-1-like,and LcPirin were higher in the ROS-and NO-treated rudimentary leaves than those in the control ones,suggesting that these genes may be involved in the ROS and NO-induced senescence and abscission of the rudimentary leaves in litchi.Our results suggested that ROS and NO play an important role in inducing the senescence of the rudimentary leaves,and ROS-and NO-induced PCD may be involved in the regulation of the rudimentary leaf growth in litchi. | Haifang Yang Hye-Ji Kim Houbin Chen Yong Lu Xingyu Lu Congcong Wang Biyan Zhou | 2018 | Horticulture Research2018,5,1: | 2 |
