7Detection of reflux-symptom association in children with esophageal atresia by video-pH-impedance study显示文摘BACKGROUND Children with esophageal atresia(EA)have risk of gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD),suggesting reflux monitoring for prompt management.AIM To evaluate GERD in children with EA and specific symptom association from combined Video with Multichannel Intraluminal Impedance and pH(MII-pH)study.METHODS Children diagnosed with EA with suspected GERD and followed up at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital between January 2000 and December 2018 were prospectively studied. All underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy with esophageal biopsy and Video MII-pH study on the same day.Symptoms of GERD which included both esophageal and extra-esophageal symptom were recorded from video monitoring and abnormal reflux from MII-pH study based on the statement from the European Paediatric Impedance Group.Prevalence of GERD was also reported by using histopathology as a gold standard.Endoscopic appearance was recorded using Los Angeles Classification and esophagitis severity was graded using Esohisto criteria.RESULTS Fifteen children were recruited with age of 3.1(2.2,9.8)years(40%,male)and the common type was C(93.3%).The symptoms recorded were cough(75.2%),vomiting(15.2%),irritability or unexplained crying(7.6%)and dysphagia(1.9%)with the symptom-reflux association of 45.7%,89%,71%and 0%,respectively.There were abnormal endoscopic appearance in 52.9%,esophagitis in 64.7%and high reflux score in 47.1%.Video MII-pH study has high diagnostic value with the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of 72.7%,100%and 82.4%,respectively.CONCLUSION Prevalence of GERD in children with EA was high.Video MII-pH study to detect GERD in children with EA had high diagnostic value with the trend of specific symptom association.Settachote Maholarnkij Anapat Sanpavat Katawaetee Decharun Termpong Dumrisilp Chomchanat Tubjareon Benjawan Kanghom Tanisa Patcharatrakul Nataruks Chaijitraruch Voranush Chongsrisawat Palittiya Sintusek 2020World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,28:0
8Altitudinal Effect on Diversity and Distribution of Araceae in Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, Chiang Mai Province in Thailand显示文摘The relationships between Araceae diversity and altitude gradients in mountain ecosystem at Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, Chiang Mai Province in Thailand, were studied during January 2016-March 2018. The strip-plots, 10 m × 1,000 m along the five nature trails, were established from 300-500, 501-800, 801-1,100, 1,101-1,400, 1,401-1,685 m above mean sea level (amsl). Twenty species of 11 genera were found. Alocasia navicularis and Lemna sp. were found at 300-500 m amsl, wild taro (Colocasia esculenta) was at 300-800 m amsl, A. acuminata was at 300-1,400 m amsl, while Amorphophallus krausei, Hapaline benthamiana, Lasia spinosa, Rhaphidophora chevalieri and R. megaphylla were at 501-800 m amsl, but dwarf taro (C. affinis) was at 501-1,400 m amsl, Homalomena aromatica was at 801-1,100 m amsl, A. fuscus, A. thaiensis were at 801-1,685 m amsl, A. yunnanensis was at 1,101-1,685 m amsl, only five species, Arisaema consanguineum, A. kerrii, Remusatia hookeriana, R. peepla and Sauromatum horsfieldii were found at 1,401-1,685 m amsl. Species diversity in the rainy season was the highest (1.75), the top five dominant species were dwarf taro (C. affinis), wild taro (C. esculenta), A. fuscus, A. acuminata and A. thaiensis (importance value index (IVI%): 61.54, 24.13, 17.12, 16.52 and 9.60, respectively). In dry season, the dominant species was wild taro. The altitude gradients showed the main effect on diversity and distribution of Araceae.Oraphan Sungkajanttranon Dokrak Marod Sahanat Petchsri Kritsiam Kongsatree Anothai Peankonchong Thunthicha Chotpiseksit Benjawan Supnuam 2019Journal of Agricultural Science and Technology(B)2019,9,1:0
9Identification of novel biomarkers for adult-onset-immunodeficiency(AOID)syndrome using serum proteomics显示文摘Objective:To identify the candidate protein biomarkers of adult-onset-immunodeficiency(AOID) syndrome using serum proteomics. Methods:Screening and verification phases were performed in the study. A total of 97 serum samples were classified into three groups:AOID patients with opportunistic infections(active AOID),AOID patients without opportunistic infections(inactive AOID),and healthy control. In the screening phase, pooled sera collected from patients and healthy control in each group were separated by 2D-gel electrophoresis, analyzed for differentially expressed proteins and identified for biomarkers using LC/MS. In the verification phase, the protein candidates were selected for confirmation by western blotting. Results:The analysis revealed 35 differentially expressed proteins. Three proteins including haptoglobin, gelsolin, and transthyretin, were selected for verification. The results showed that the levels of haptoglobin in both active and inactive AOID groups were significantly higher than that in the control group, while the levels of gelsolin in the active AOID group were significantly lower than that in the inactive AOID group. The level of transthyretin in the active AOID group was also significantly lower than that in the control group. Conclusions:The comparison of serum proteins between the three groups revealed three candidates which are related to chronic inflammatory diseases. Haptoglobin and transthyretin biomarkers could be applied in clinical assessment for monitor of disease outcome, including for the study of AOID pathogenesis.Jeerang Wongtrakul Thananya Thongtan Sittiruk Roytrakul Jutarat Praparattanapan Jiraprapa Wipasa Benjawan Kumrapich Khuanchai Supparatpinyo 2017Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2017,10,5:0

11Taxonomic and phylogenetic contributions to fungi associated with the invasive weed Chromolaena odorata (Siam weed)显示文摘This article provides morphological descriptions and illustrations of microfungi associated with the invasive weed,Chro-molaena odorata, which were mainly collected in northern Thailand.Seventy-seven taxa distributed in ten orders,23 families(of which Neomassarinaceae is new),12 new genera(Chromolaenicola,Chromolaenomyces,Longiappendispora,Pseudocapulatispora,Murichromolaenicola,Neoophiobolus,Paraleptospora,Pseudoroussoella,Pseudostaurosphaeria,Pseudothyridariella,Setoarthopyrenia,Xenoroussoella),47 new species(Aplosporella chromolaenae,Arthrinium chromolae-nae,Chromolaenicola chiangraiensis,C.lampangensis,C.nanensis,C.thailandensis,Chromolaenomyces appendiculatus,Diaporthe chromolaenae,Didymella chromolaenae,Dyfrolomyces chromolaenae,Leptospora chromolaenae,L.phraeana,Longiappendispora chromolaenae,Memnoniella chromolaenae,Montagnula chiangraiensis,M.chromolaenae,M.chromo-laenicola,M.thailandica,Murichromolaenicola chiangraiensis,M.chromolaenae,Muyocopron chromolaenae,M.chromo-laenicola,Neomassarina chromolaenae,Neoophiobolus chromolaenae,Neopyrenochaeta chiangraiensis,N.chromolaenae,N.thailandica,N.triseptatispora,Nigrograna chromolaenae,Nothophoma chromolaenae,Paraleptospora chromolaenae,P.chromolaenicola,Patellaria chromolaenae,Pseudocapulatispora longiappendiculata,Pseudoroussoella chromolaenae,Pseudostaurosphaeria chromolaenae,P.chromolaenicola,Pseudothyridariella chromolaenae,Pyrenochaetopsis chromolae-nae,Rhytidhysteron chromolaenae,Setoarthopyrenia chromolaenae,Sphaeropsis chromolaenicola,Tremateia chiangraiensis,T.chromolaenae,T.thailandensis,Xenoroussoella triseptata,Yunnanensis chromolaenae),12 new host records, three new taxonomic combinations(Chromolaenicola siamensis,Pseudoroussoella elaeicola,Pseudothyridariella mahakashae),and two reference specimens(Torula chromolaenae,T.fici)are described and illustrated.Unlike some other hosts,e.g.bamboo(Poaceae)and Pandanaceae, the dominant group of fungi on Siam weed were Dothideomycetes.Only 15 species previously recorded from northern Thailand were found in this study. Most of the taxa are likely to have jumped hosts from surrounding plants and are unlikely to be a specialist to Siam weed. Most fungal families found on Siam weed had divergence estimates with stem ages in the Cretaceous, which coincided with the expected origin of the host family(Asteraceae). This further indicates that the species have jumped hosts,as it is unlikely that the taxa on the alien Siam weed came from the Americas with its host. They may, however, have jumped from other Asteraceae hosts. In a preliminary screening 40(65%)of the 62 species tested showed antimicrobial activity and thus, the fungi associated with C.odorata may be promising sources of novel bioactive compound discovery. We provide a checklist of fungi associated with C.odorata based on the USDA Systematic Mycology and Microbiology Laboratory(SMML)database, relevant literature and our study. In total,130 taxa(116 identified and 14 unidentified species)are distributed in 20 orders,48 families and 85 genera.Pseudocercospora is the most commonly encountered genus on Siam weed.Ausana Mapook Kevin D.Hyde Eric H.C.McKenzie E.B.Gareth Jones D.Jayarama Bhat Rajesh Jeewon Marc Stadler Milan C.Samarakoon Maitree Malaithong Benjawan Tanunchai François Buscot Tesfaye Wubet Witoon Purahong 2020Fungal Diversity2020,,2:0
