Imaging plays a crucial role in characterization and pretreatment planning of incidentally detected or suspected adnexal masses, as diagnosis of ovarian malignancy at an early stage is correlated with a better prognosis. Knowledge of differential diagnosis, imaging features, management trends and an algorithmic approach of such lesions is important for optimal clinical management. | 3 | Oral eplerenone for the management of chronic central serous chorioretinopathy显示文摘AIM: To examine eplerenone(Inspra, Pfizer), a mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist, as a treatment option for chronic central serous chorioretinopathy(CSCR).METHODS: A retrospective consecutive case series was conducted for patients receiving oral eplerenone for chronic CSCR. At baseline and each follow-up visit,spectral domain optical coherence tomography(SD-OCT)imaging was performed, including manual measurements of the height and diameter size of subretinal fluid. The primary outcome measure was the reduction in subretinal fluid following initiation of therapy.RESULTS: A total of 17 eyes of 13 patients treated with25 and 50 mg of oral eplerenone per day were identified.Subretinal fluid(SRF) decreased over time following eplerenone therapy(P = 0.007 and P =0.002, diameter and height respectively). Maximum SRF height decreased from a mean of 131.5 μm at baseline to 15.3 μm at day181+. SRF diameter decreased from an average of 2174.4μm at baseline to 46.9 μm at day 181 +. Log MAR visual acuity improved from 0.42(Snellen equivalent: 20/53) at baseline to 0.29(Snellen equivalent: 20/39) at day 181 +(P = 0.024). | 4 | Sonohysterography: Principles, technique and role in diagnosis of endometrial pathology显示文摘Sonohysterography (SHG), which provides enhanced endometrial visualization during standard transvaginal ultrasonography, is a relatively safe procedure for the evaluation of endometrial pathology. It can be used to evaluate patients with abnormal vaginal bleeding or infertility. This modality offers real time imaging of the endometrium without exposure to ionizing radiation. SHG is typically used in patients for whom standard transvaginal ultrasonography does not show the endometrium well, show a potential abnormality for which further imaging is required, or in patients without endometrial pathology defined on routine transvaginal imaging but in whom there is a strong clinical suspicion of an abnormality. This article will discuss the utility of the sonohysterogram in evaluation of various endometrial pathologies. The advent of new transducers with focal beam technology and higher frequency has solidified the role of intraoperative sonography (IOUS) as an invaluable imaging modality in oncologic surgery of the liver, kidneys and pancreas. The ability to detect and characterize small lesions and the precise intraoperative localization of such tumors is essential for adequate surgical planning in segmental or lobar hepatic resections, metastasectomy, nephron-sparing surgery, and partial pancreatectomy. Also, diagnostic characterization of small equivocal lesions deemed indeterminate by conventional preoperative imaging such as multidetector computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging, has become an important application of IOUS. | 8 | Plant disease detection using hybrid model based on convolutional autoencoder and convolutional neural network显示文摘Plants are susceptive to various diseases in their growing phases.Early detection of diseases in plants is one of the most challenging problems in agriculture.If the diseases are not identified in the early stages,then theymay adversely affect the total yield,resulting in a decrease in the farmers'profits.To overcome this problem,many researchers have presented different state-of-the-art systems based on Deep Learning and Machine Learning approaches.However,most of these systems either use millions of training parameters or have lowclassification accuracies.This paper proposes a novel hybrid model based on Convolutional Autoencoder(CAE)network and Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)for automatic plant disease detection.To the best of our knowledge,a hybrid system based on CAE and CNN to detect plant diseases automatically has not been proposed in any state-ofthe-art systems present in the literature.In this work,the proposed hybrid model is applied to detect Bacterial Spot disease present in peach plants using their leaf images,however,it can be used for any plant disease detection.The experiments performed in this paper use a publicly available dataset named PlantVillage to get the leaf images of peach plants.The proposed system achieves 99.35%training accuracy and 98.38%testing accuracy using only 9,914 training parameters.The proposed hybrid model requires lesser number of training parameters as compared to other approaches existing in the literature.This,in turn,significantly decreases the time required to train the model for automatic plant disease detection and the time required to identify the disease in plants using the trained model. | Punam Bedi Pushkar Gole | 2021 | Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture2021,,1: | 2 |

| 10 | Development of a novel myconanomining approach for the recovery of agriculturally important elements from jarosite waste显示文摘In this study, an ecofriendly and economically viable waste management approach have been attempted towards the biosynthesis of agriculturally important nanoparticles from jarosite waste. Aspergillus terreus strain J4 isolated from jarosite(waste from Debari Zinc Smelter,Udaipur, India), showed good leaching efficiency along with nanoparticles(NPs) formation under ambient conditions. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM) confirmed the formation of NPs. Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX analysis) showed strong signals for zinc, iron, calcium and magnesium,with these materials being leached out. TEM analysis and high resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM) showed semi-quasi spherical particles having average size of 10‐50 nm. Thus, a novel biomethodology was developed using fungal cell-free extract for bioleaching and subsequently nanoconversion of the waste materials into nanostructured form. These biosynthesized nanoparticles were tested for their efficacy on seed emergence activity of wheat(Triticum aestivum) seeds and showed enhanced growth at concentration of 20 ppm.
