1Acupuncture's Role in Solving the Opioid Epidemic: Evidence, Cost-Effectiveness, and Care Availability for Acupuncture as a Primary, Non-Pharmacologic Method for Pain Relief and Management-White Paper 2017显示文摘The United States(U.S.) is facing a national opioid epidemic, and medical systems are in need of nonpharmacologic strategies that can be employed to decrease the public's opioid dependence. Acupuncture has emerged as a powerful, evidence-based, safe, cost-effective, and available treatment modality suitable to meeting this need. Acupuncture has been shown to be effective for the management of numerous types of pain conditions, and mechanisms of action for acupuncture have been described and are understandable from biomedical, physiologic perspectives. Further, acupuncture's cost-effectiveness can dramatically decrease health care expenditures, both from the standpoint of treating acute pain and through avoiding addiction to opioids that requires costly care, destroys quality of life, and can lead to fatal overdose. Numerous federal regulatory agencies have advised or mandated that healthcare systems and providers offer non-pharmacologic treatment options for pain. Acupuncture stands out as the most evidence-based, immediately available choice to fulfil these calls. Acupuncture can safely, easily, and cost-effectively be incorporated into hospital settings as diverse as the emergency department, labor and delivery suites, andneonatal intensive care units to treat a variety of commonly seen pain conditions. 4大鼠结缔组织生长因子部分cDNA序列的克隆及其mRNA在实验性肝纤维化中的表达显示文摘目的克隆出大鼠结缔组织生长因子(connective tissue growth factor, CTGF)的部分cDNA序列,并观察在实验性肝纤维化大鼠肝脏中 CTGF mRNA的表达改变。方法根据小鼠CTGF mRNA序列设计引物,用 RT-PCR从大鼠肝脏总 RNA中扩增出一段 430 bp的产物,并测定其序列。将 16只雌性 Wistar大鼠随机分为胆管堵塞组(n=8)及假手术组(n=8)。6周后取大鼠肝脏提取总RNA,利用多探针以核酸酶保护分析法测定CTGF及TGFβ_1的mRNA水平。结果克隆出的大鼠CTGF cDNA序列在核酸水平与小鼠的同源性为95%。胆汁性肝硬化大鼠肝脏中 TGF β_1及 CTGF的 IRNA水平分别为假手术组大鼠的 4倍和 7倍。结论在实验性肝纤维化大鼠肝脏中CTGF mRNA的表达水平明显上调。贾继东 Michael Bauer Gabriele Boigk Martin Ruelh Detlef Schuppan 王宝恩 2000中华肝脏病杂志2000,8,2:22

6Progress in Research and Development of Molten Chloride Salt Technology for Next Generation Concentrated Solar Power Plants显示文摘Concentrated solar power(CSP)plants with thermal energy storage(TES)system are emerging as one kind of the most promising power plants in the future renewable energy system,since they can supply dispatchable and low-cost electricity with abundant but intermittent solar energy.In order to significantly reduce the levelized cost of electricity(LCOE)of the present commercial CSP plants,the next generation CSP technology with higher process temperature and energy efficiency is being developed.The TES system in the next generation CSP plants works with new TES materials at higher temperatures(>565℃)compared to that with the commercial nitrate salt mixtures.This paper reviews recent progressin research and development of the next generation CSP and TES technology.Emphasis is given on theadvanced'TES technology based on molten chloride salt mixtures such as MgCl_(2)/NaCl/KCl which hassimilar thermo-physical properties as the commercial nitrate salt mixtures,higher thermal stability(>800℃),and lower costs(<0.35USD·kg^(-1)).Recent progress in the selection/optimization of chloridesalts,determination of molten chloride salt properties,and corrosion control of construction materials(eg.,alloys)in molten chlorides is reviewed.Wenjin Ding Thomas Bauer 2021Engineering2021,7,3:15

8Combining computer vision and deep learning to enable ultra-scale aerial phenotyping and precision agriculture:A case study of lettuce production显示文摘Aerial imagery is regularly used by crop researchers,growers and farmers to monitor crops during the growing season.To extract meaningful information from large-scale aerial images collected from the field,high-throughput phenotypic analysis solutions are required,which not only produce high-quality measures of key crop traits,but also support professionals to make prompt and reliable crop management decisions.Here,we report AirSurf,an automated and open-source analytic platform that combines modern computer vision,up-to-date machine learning,and modular software engineering in order to measure yield-related phenotypes from ultra-large aerial imagery.To quantify millions of in-field lettuces acquired by fixed-wing light aircrafts equipped with normalised difference vegetation index(NDVI)sensors,we customised AirSurf by combining computer vision algorithms and a deep-learning classifier trained with over 100,000 labelled lettuce signals.The tailored platform,AirSurf-Lettuce,is capable of scoring and categorising iceberg lettuces with high accuracy(>98%).Furthermore,novel analysis functions have been developed to map lettuce size distribution across the field,based on which associated global positioning system(GPS)tagged harvest regions have been identified to enable growers and farmers to conduct precision agricultural practises in order to improve the actual yield as well as crop marketability before the harvest.Alan Bauer Aaron George Bostrom Joshua Ball Christopher Applegate Tao Cheng Stephen Laycock Sergio Moreno Rojas Jacob Kirwan Ji Zhou 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:14
9Role of the receptor for advanced glycation end products in hepatic fibrosis显示文摘AIM:To study the role of advanced glycation end products(AGE)and their specifi c receptor(RAGE)in the pathogenesis of liver fi brogenesis.METHODS:In vitro RAGE expression and extracellular matrix-related gene expression in both rat and human hepatic stellate cells(HSC)were measured after stimulation with the two RAGE ligands,advanced glycation end product-bovine serum albumin(AGE-BSA)and Nε-(carboxymethyl)lysine(CML)-BSA,or with tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α).In vivo RAGE expression was examined in models of hepatic fi brosis induced by bile duct ligation or thioacetamide.The effects of AGE-BSA and CML-BSA on HSC proliferation,signal transduction and profi brogenic gene expression were studied in vitro.RESULTS:In hepatic fibrosis,RAGE expression was enhanced in activated HSC,and also in endothelial cells,inflammatory cells and activated bile duct epithelia.HSC expressed RAGE which was upregulated after stimulation with AGE-BSA,CML-BSA,and TNF-α.RAGE stimulation with AGE-BSA and CML-BSA did not alter HSC proliferation,apoptosis,fibrogenic signal transduction and fibrosis-or fibrolysis-related gene expression,except for marginal upregulation of procollagen α1(Ⅰ)mRNA by AGE-BSA.CONCLUSION:Despite upregulation of RAGE in activated HSC,RAGE stimulation by AGE does not alter their fibrogenic activation.Therefore,RAGE does not contribute directly to hepatic fibrogenesis.Christina Lohwasser Daniel Neureiter Yury Popov Michael Bauer Detlef Schuppan 2009World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,46:13
10Numerical stress-deformation analysis of cut-off wall in clay-core rockfill dam on thick overburden显示文摘The cut-off wall in a clay-core rockfill dam built on a thick overburden layer is subjected to a large compressive pressure under the action of the loads such as the dead weight of both the dam and the overburden layer, the frictional force induced by the differential settlement between the cut-off wall and surrounding soils, and the water pressure. Thus, reduction of the stress of the cut-off wall has become one of the main problems for consideration in engineering design. In this paper, numerical analysis of a core rockfill dam built on a thick overburden layer was conducted and some factors influencing the stress-strain behaviors of the cut-off wall were investigated. The factors include the improvement of the overburden layer, the modeling approach for interfacial contact between the cut-off wall and surrounding soils, the modulus of the cut-off wall concrete, and the connected pattern between the cut-off wall and the clay core. The result shows that improving the overburden layer,selecting plastic concrete with a low modulus and high strength, and optimizing the connection between the cut-off wall and the clay core of the dam are effective measures of reducing the deformations and compressive stresses of the cut-off wall. 12Helicobacter pylori upregulates prion protein expression in gastric mucosa: A possible link to prion disease显示文摘AIM: Pathological prion protein (PrPSC) is responsible for the development of transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSE). While PrPc enters the organism via the oral route, less data is available to know about its uptake and the role of gastrointestinal inflammation on the expression of prion precursor PrPc, which is constitutively expressed in the gastric mucosa.METHODS: We studied PrPc expression in the gastric mucosa of 10 Helicobacter pylori-positive patients before and after successful H pylori eradication compared to non-infected controls using RT-PCR and Western blotting.The effect of central mediators of gastric inflammation,i.e., gastrin, prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin 1 beta (IL-1β) on PrPc expression was analyzed in gastric cell lines.RESULTS: PrPc expression was increased in H pyloriinfection compared with non-infected controls and decreased to normal after successful eradication. Gastrin,PGE2, and IL-1β dose-dependently upregulated PrPc in gastric cells, while TNF-α had no effect.CONCLUSION: H pylori infection leads to the upregulation of gastric PrPc expression. 13Deeper Chemical Perceptions for Better Traditional Chinese Medicine Standards显示文摘Traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs), a complex system of natural resources with many diverse components, are widely used as approved medicinal agents in China. Quality control of TCMs is a huge challenge for the government and for testing institutes and is associated with numerous scientific issues. Among these considerations include the following questions: How many components are in TCMs? How can the multiple components in TCMs be comprehensively delineated and subsequently characterized? What is the level and range of these (active) metabolites within these multiple-component TCMs, in order to recommend standards? and What are the qualities required for a marker constituent to be selected, and from a practical perspective, how can these components be assessed with low cost and in a short time? All of these factors require significant and deep thinking in order to understand the individualistic chemistry of TCM in order to develop enhanced TCM quality standards for improved and consistent patient care. In this review, the latest exploratory research in TCM chemistry analytical techniques and methods is summarized in order to begin to develop responses to these scientific issues. Advances in these methods have included multidimensional separation for liquid chromatography–high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC–HRMS), smart triggering data-dependent acquisition of LC–HRMS, target analysis with liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS), supercritical fluid chromatography, and data mining of large mass spectrometry (MS) datasets. In addition, two quality strategies have been introduced in order to save reference standards and the analysis time for a TCM quality standard, including the application of the single standard to determine multi-components (SSDMC) and monomethodheterotrait matrix methods. 15花曲柳窄吉丁在中国的分布与危害的调查研究显示文摘花曲柳窄吉丁是木犀科梣属树木毁灭性的蛀干害虫,2003年已被列入我国林业危险性有害生物名单中.本研究对中国黑龙江、吉林、辽宁、河北和山东省及天津和北京市16个梣属树木分布区进行了花曲柳窄吉丁的调查.结果显示:除在北京市和山东省滨州市以及辽宁省的一个地区未发现花曲柳窄吉丁危害外,在其它省市的13个地区都发现有该害虫,而且在部分地区其危害已较为严重,有虫株率最高达90%以上,虫口密度最高达230头/株,并已出现部分白蜡树死亡.另外,在花曲柳窄吉丁自然种群中发现有幼虫被真菌感染致死和茧蜂科天敌寄生现象,并对害虫的种群发展显示了较好的控制作用.高瑞桐 赵同海 Houping Liu Leah S. 17小鼠单纯疱疹病毒性角膜炎中基质金属蛋白酶的表达及活性研究显示文摘目的 探讨角膜感染Ⅰ型单纯疱疹病毒 (HSV 1)后基质金属蛋白酶 (MMPs)及其组织抑制剂 (TIMPs)在角膜中的分布及酶活性表达。方法 BALB/c小鼠眼角膜接种HSV 1(KOS株 )以诱发单纯疱疹病毒性角膜炎 (HSK)。分别收集正常眼球及感染后第 2、7、14及 2 8天的感染眼球。应用免疫组织化学法和Westernblot方法检测MMP 2、 8、 9及TIMP 1、 2在角膜组织中的表达 ,并应用酶谱(Zymography)技术检测MMPs的酶活性。结果 感染后第 2天 ,感染眼的MMP 2、 9及TIMP 1、 2表达比未感染眼增加且表达主要位于浅表基质层及上皮下的炎性细胞中。感染后第 14和 2 8天可见坏死性角膜炎及角膜溃疡形成 ,同时角膜基质和浸润的炎性细胞中尤其溃疡处 ,可见MMP 2、 9及TIMP 1、 2表达显著增加。溃疡区域有大量MMP 8阳性染色的中性粒细胞。角膜感染HSV 1后 ,明胶酶 (MMP 2、 9)活性和胶原酶 (MMP 8)活性均增强。结论 HSV 1角膜感染后 ,由角膜细胞和浸润的炎性细胞分泌产生的MMPs可能对上皮性角膜炎与溃疡形成过程起重要的促进作用。MMPs与TIMPs的相互作用可能对HSK的坏死性病变起重要调节作用。杨燕宁 Dirk Bauer 李海平 Arnd Heiligenhaus 2004中华眼科杂志2004,40,6:7
18新生儿成熟度和产后日龄对血清钾水平的影响显示文摘目的 探讨新生儿成熟度和产后日龄对血清钾浓度的影响。方法 回顾性分析了胎龄为 2 4~ 2 8周 (A组 ) ,2 9~ 3 2周 (B组 ) ,3 3~ 3 6周 (C组 )和 3 7~ 4 2周 (D组 )新生儿生后 1~ 72h内的血清钾水平及其变化。结果 ①新生儿的胎龄、体重和尿量与血清钾水平存在着线性关系。②生后 1~ 2 4h ,A组新生儿的血清钾水平最高 ,B组次之 ,C和D组相当 ,为最低。生后 4 8h内 ,A和B组的血清钾水平开始下降 ,并于 72h内下降至C和D组新生儿水平。C和D组新生儿生后 72h内的血清钾水平无明显变化。③A ,B和C组早产儿生后 2 4h内高钾血症 (≥7.0mmol/L)发生率分别为 2 0 .0 % ,12 .5%和 4 .0 % ;2 4例高钾血症患儿经常规治疗后 ,14例 (58.3 % )于 72h内血钾降至 7.0mmol/L以下并存活 ;10例 (4 1.7% )高钾血症状态持续存在 ,其中 7例死亡。D组足月儿于生后 72h内未出现高钾血症。结论 新生儿的成熟度和产后胎龄影响血清钾水平 ;极不成熟新生儿 (2 4~ 3 2周 )在生后 2 4h内具有较高的血清钾水平 ,继之随生后日龄的增加而降低 ;早产儿可有致命性高钾血症存在 ,常规治疗仅部分有效。肖昕 Karl Bauer Hans Versmold 2000中国当代儿科杂志2000,2,1:6

20常规胸腹部多层CT矢状重组影像在检测骨质疏松骨折和脊椎异常诊断中的价值显示文摘本研究的目的是评价骨质疏松椎骨骨折和其他椎骨损伤在常规多层CT(MDCT)胸腹部扫描获得的矢状重组影像上的表现,以及在检出这些病变时矢状重组影像与横断位影像的差异,并研究这些病变在放射科报告中漏报的频度。112例绝经后妇女接受标准参数的常规腹部或胸腹部MDCT检查。横断位和矢状重组影像由2位放射科医师分别进行分析比较,并达成一致意见.以评价这些异常被检出的频度。此外还评价了放射科的报告,明确有多少异常得以诊断。112例绝经妇女中,101例显示脊椎异常。D.
