| 1 | Endoscopic management of pancreatic fluid collectionsrevisited显示文摘The development of pancreatic fluid collections(PFC) is one of the most common complications of acute severe pancreatitis. Most of the acute pancreatic fluid collections resolve and do not require endoscopic drainage. However, a substantial proportion of acute necrotic collections get walled off and may require drainage. Endoscopic drainage of PFC is now the preferred mode of drainage due to reduced morbidity and mortality as compared to surgical or percutaneous drainage. With the introduction of new metal stents, the efficiency of endoscopic drainage has improved and the task of direct endoscopic necrosectomy has be-come easier. The requirement of re-intervention is less with new metal stents as compared to plastic stents. However, endoscopic drainage is not free of adverse events. Severe complications including bleeding, perforation, sepsis and embolism have been described with endoscopic approach to PFC. Therefore, the endoscopic management of PFC is a multidisciplinary affair and involves interventional radiologists as well as GI surgeons to deal with unplanned adverse events and failures. | 2 | Evaluation of DNA damage profile in obese women and its association to risk of metabolic syndrome,polycystic ovary syndrome and recurrent preeclampsia显示文摘Metabolic syndrome(MS)is a cluster of metabolic abnormalities.Obesity and MS are always accompanied by elevated oxidative stress which might affect cellular biomolecules such as DNA.The aim of the present study is to investigate DNA damage profile in obese premenopausal women and its relation to the risk of MS,polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)and history of recurrent pre-eclampsia.The study included 90 obese women included cases with MS(nZ30),PCOS(n Z30)and previous history of recurrent preeclampsia(nZ30)and,age-matched healthy non-obese control women(n Z 50).The assessment of leukocyte DNA damage was done by comet assay for all cases and controls.Anthropometry and biochemical parameters have been measured.Results showed that mean percent of DNA damage was significantly higher in MS,PCOS as well as in women with the recurrent preeclampsia as compared to healthy controls.The high level of mean DNA damage frequency in obese women was significantly associated with the increased number of metabolic syndrome components.Cases with 2,3 and 3e5 components showed significantly higher levels of DNA damage than controls.Moreover,cases with 3e5 MS components showed significant higher DNA compared to those with the two components.Regarding PCOS,significant positive association between the mean frequency of DNA damage and waist circumference was observed.The study suggests that metabolic abnormalities,PCOS and recurrent pre-eclampsia might be contributed in development of DNA damage in obese women.DNA damage can serve as an early marker for obesity complications in premenopausal women. | Moushira Zaki Walaa Basha Hala T.El-Bassyouni Safinaz El-Toukhy Tamer Hussein | 2018 | Genes & Diseases2018，5，4： | 4 |

| 4 | Studies on thermally grown oxide as an interface between plasma-sprayed coatings and a nickel-based superalloy substrate显示文摘A thermally grown oxide layer formed by hot corrosion was investigated as an interface between plasma-sprayed coatings and a nickel-based superalloy substrate. The hot corrosion mechanism of NiCr–Cr_2O_3 and Al_2O_3–40wt% TiO_2(A40T) plasma coated Inconel 617 was evaluated. The experiments were carried out at 1000°C using a combination of Na_2SO_4, NaCl, and V_2O_5 salts to simulate the conditions of a gas turbine in a marine environment. The hot corrosion results revealed the spallation and dissolution of oxides upon prolonged exposure. Optical images and scanning electron micrographs of the exposed samples revealed the formation of oxide scale and provided details of its morphology in NiCr–Cr_2O_3 coated samples. Microstructure characterization of A40T coatings demonstrated a thermally grown oxide(TGO) layer at 1000°C. Increasing the thickness of the TGO layer decreased the corrosion resistance.
