1Review of risk factors for human echinococcosis prevalence on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, China: a prospective for control options显示文摘Objective: Echinococcosis is a major parasitic zoonosis of public health importance in western China. In 2004, the Chinese Ministry of Health estimated that 380,000 people had the disease in the region. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is highly co-endemic with both alveolar echinococcosis (AE) and cystic echinococcosis (CE). In the past years, the Chinese government has been increasing the financial support to control the diseases in this region. Therefore, it is very important to identify the significant risk factors of the diseases by reviewing studies done in the region in the past decade to help policymakers design appropriate control strategies. Review: Selection criteria for which literature to review were firstly defined. Medline, CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure), and Google Scholar were systematically searched for literature published between January 2000 and July 2011. Significant risk factors found by single factor and/or multiple factors analysis were listed, counted, and summarized. Literature was examined to check the comparability of the data;age and sex specific prevalence with same data structures were merged and used for further analysis. A variety of assumed social, economical, behavioral, and ecological risk factors were studied on the Plateau. Those most at risk were Tibetan herdsmen, the old and female in particular. By analyzing merged comparable data, it was found that females had a significant higher prevalence, and a positive linearity relationship existed between echinococcosis prevalence and increasing age. In terms of behavioral risk factors, playing with dogs was mostly correlated with CE and/or AE prevalence. In terms of hygiene, employing ground water as the drinking water source was significantly correlated with CE and AE prevalence. For definitive hosts, dog related factors were most frequently identified with prevalence of CE or/and AE;fox was a potential risk factor for AE prevalence only. Overgrazing and deforestation were significant for AE prevalence only. Conclusion: Tibetan herdsmen communities were at the highest risk of echinococcosis prevalence and should be the focus of echinococcosis control. Deworming both owned and stray dogs should be a major measure for controlling echinococcosis;treatment of wild definitive hosts should also be considered for AE endemic areas. Health education activities should be in concert with the local people's education backgrounds and languages in order to be able to improve behaviors. 4Secondary causes of inflammatory bowel diseases显示文摘Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD),conventionally consist of Crohn’s disease(CD)and ulcerative colitis.They occur in individuals with high risk genotype for the disease in the setting of appropriate environmental factors.The pathogenesis of IBD involves a dysregulated autoimmune response to gut dysbiosis,which in turn is triggered due to exposure to various inciting environmental factors.But there is no clearly defined etiology of IBD and this type of disease is termed as“idiopathic IBD”,“classic IBD”,or“primary IBD”.We reviewed the current medical literature and found that certain etiological factors may be responsible for the development of IBD or IBD-like conditions,and we consider this form of de novo IBD as“secondary IBD”.Currently known factors that are potentially responsible for giving rise to secondary IBD are medications;bowel altering surgeries and transplantation of organs,stem cells or fecal microbiome.Medications associated with the development of secondary IBD include;immunomodulators,anti-tumor necrosis factor alpha agents,anti-interleukin agents,interferons,immune stimulating agents and checkpoint inhibitors.Colectomy can in some cases give rise to de novo CD,pouchitis of the ileal pouch,or postcolectomy enteritis syndrome.After solid organ transplantation or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation,the recipient may develop de novo IBD or IBD flare.Fecal microbiota transplantation has been widely used to treat patients suffering from recurrent Clostridium difficile infection but can also causes IBD flares.Yezaz A Ghouri Veysel Tahan Bo Shen 2020World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,28:13

10Sources of particulate organic matter in the Chukchi and Siberian shelves: clues from carbon and nitrogen isotopes显示文摘The stable isotopic composition(δ13C andδ15N)and carbon/nitrogen ratio(C/N)of particulate organic matter(POM)in the Chukchi and East Siberian shelves from July to September,2016 were measured to evaluate the spatial variability and origin of POM.Theδ13CPOC values were in the range of−29.5‰to−17.5‰with an average of−25.9‰±2.0‰,and theδ15NPN values ranged from 3.9‰to 13.1‰with an average of 8.0‰±1.6‰.The C/N ratios in the East Siberian shelf were generally higher than those in the Chukchi shelf,while theδ13C andδ15N values were just the opposite.Abnormally low C/N ratios(<4),lowδ13CPOC(almost−28‰)and highδ15NPN(>10‰)values were observed in the Wrangel Island polynya,which was attributed to the early bloom of small phytoplankton.The contributions of terrestrial POM,bloom-produced POM and non-bloom marine POM were estimated using a three end-member mixing model.The spatial distribution of terrestrial POM showed a high fraction in the East Siberian shelf and decreased eastward,indicating the influence of Russian rivers.The distribution of non-bloom marine POM showed a high fraction in the Chukchi shelf with the highest fraction occurring in the Bering Strait and decreased westward,suggesting the stimulation of biological production by the Pacific inflow in the Chukchi shelf.The fractions of bloom-produced POM were highest in the winter polynya and gradually decreased toward the periphery.A negative relationship between the bloom-produced POM and the sea ice meltwater inventory was observed,indicating that the net sea ice loss promotes early bloom in the polynya.Given the high fraction of bloom-produced POM,the early bloom of phytoplankton in the polynyas may play an important role on marine production and POM export in the Arctic shelves.Renming Jia Xinyue Mu Min Chen Jing Zhu Bo Wang Xiaopeng Li A S Astakhov Minfang Zheng Yusheng Qiu 2020Acta Oceanologica Sinica2020,39,9:2
