1Biochar-based materials and their applications in removal of organic contaminants from wastewater:state-of-the-art review显示文摘As a class of famous carbon materials,biochars(BCs)and their derivative materials with excellent physicochemical properties and diversified functionalities present great potential in wastewater treatment fields.This review focuses on the latest development in reported biochar-based materials as superior adsorbents or catalysts for removing harmful organic contaminants from wastewater.The construction and properties of biochar-based materials are briefly introduced at the beginning.As one of the major factors affecting the properties of BCs,the wide diversity of feedstocks,such as agricultural and forest residues,industrial by-products as well as municipal wastes,endows BCs different chemical compositions and structures.Woody and herbaceous BCs usually have higher carbon contents,larger surface areas and strong aromaticity,which is in favor of the organic contaminant removal.Driven by the desire of more cost-effective materials,several types of biochar-based hybrid materials,such as magnetic BC composites(MBC),nanometal/nanometallic oxides/hydroxide BC composites and layered nanomaterial-coated BCs,as well as physically/chemically activated BCs,have also been developed.With the help of foreign materials,these types of hybrid BCs have excellent capacities to remove a wide range of organic contaminants,including organic dyestuff,phenols and chemical intermediates,as well as pharmaceutically active compounds,from aquatic solutions.Depending on the different types of biochar-based materials,organic contaminants can be removed by different mechanisms,such as physical adsorption,electrostatic interaction,π-πinteraction and Fenton process,as well as photocatalytic degradation.In summary,the low cost,tunable surface chemistry and excellent physical-chemical properties of BCs allow it to be a potential material in organic contaminant removal.The combination of BCs with foreign materials endows BCs more functionalities and broader development opportunities.Considering the urgent demand of practical wastewater treatment,we hope more researches will focus on the applications and commercialization of biochar-based materials.Qiang Huang Shuang Song Zhe Chen Baowei Hu Jianrong Chen Xiangke Wang 2019Biochar2019,1,1:24

3Comparative cytotoxicity of fourteen trivalent and pentavalent arsenic species determined using real-time cell sensing显示文摘The occurrence of a large number of diverse arsenic species in the environment and in biological systems makes it important to compare their relative toxicity. The toxicity of arsenic species has been examined in various cell lines using different assays, making comparison difficult. We report real-time cell sensing of two human cell lines to examine the cytotoxicity of fourteen arsenic species: arsenite(As~Ⅲ), monomethylarsonous acid(MMA~Ⅲ) originating from the oxide and iodide forms, dimethylarsinous acid(DMA~Ⅲ), dimethylarsinic glutathione(DMAG~Ⅲ), phenylarsine oxide(PAO~Ⅲ), arsenate(AsV), monomethylarsonic acid(MMA~Ⅴ), dimethylarsinic acid(DMA~Ⅴ),monomethyltrithioarsonate(MMTTA~Ⅴ), dimethylmonothioarsinate(DMMTA~Ⅴ),dimethyldithioarsinate(DMDTA~Ⅴ), 3-nitro-4-hydroxyphenylarsonic acid(Roxarsone, Rox),and 4-aminobenzenearsenic acid(p-arsanilic acid, p-ASA). Cellular responses were measured in real time for 72 hr in human lung(A549) and bladder(T24) cells. IC50 values for the arsenicals were determined continuously over the exposure time, giving rise to IC50 histograms and unique cell response profiles. Arsenic accumulation and speciation were analyzed using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry(ICP-MS). On the basis of the 24-hr IC50 values, the relative cytotoxicity of the tested arsenicals was in the following decreasing order: PAO~Ⅲ? MMA~Ⅲ≥ DMA~Ⅲ≥ DMAG~Ⅲ≈ DMMTA~Ⅴ≥ As~Ⅲ? 5High CO methanation activity on zirconia-supported molybdenum sulfide catalyst显示文摘In this study, different methods were used to prepare MoO3/ZrO2 catalysts for sulfur resistant methanation reaction. It was found that MoO3/ZrO2 catalyst prepared by one-step co-precipitation method achieved high methanation performance. CO conversion could reach up to90% on 25 wt% MoO3/ZrO2 catalyst, much higher than that on the conventional 25 wt% MoO3/Al2O3 catalyst. The Mo-based catalysts were characterized by XRF, XRD, Raman, BET, TEM and H2-TPR etc. It was found that MoO3 particles were highly dispersed on ZrO2 support for 25 wt% MoO3/ZrO2 catalyst prepared at 65-85℃ because of its relatively larger pore size, which contributed to a high CO conversion.Meanwhile, when MoO3 loading exceeded the monolayer coverage, the formed crystalline MoO3 and ZrMo2O8might block the micropores of the catalyst and make the methanation activity declined. 6Efficient Algorithm for K-Barrier Coverage Based on Integer Linear Programming显示文摘Barrier coverage of wireless sensor networks is an important issue in the detection of intruders who are attempting to cross a region of interest.However,in certain applications,barrier coverage cannot be satisfied after random deployment.In this paper,we study how mobile sensors can be efficiently relocated to achieve k-barrier coverage.In particular,two problems are studied:relocation of sensors with minimum number of mobile sensors and formation of k-barrier coverage with minimum energy cost.These two problems were formulated as 0–1 integer linear programming(ILP).The formulation is computationally intractable because of integrality and complicated constraints.Therefore,we relax the integrality and complicated constraints of the formulation and construct a special model known as RELAX-RSMN with a totally unimodular constraint coefficient matrix to solve the relaxed 0–1 ILP rapidly through linear programming.Theoretical analysis and simulation were performed to verify the effectiveness of our approach.Yanhua Zhang Xingming Sun Baowei Wang 2016China Communications2016,13,7:14
7Review of organic and inorganic pollutants removal by biochar and biochar-based composites显示文摘Biochar(BC)has exhibited a great potential to remove water contaminants due to its wide availability of raw materials,high surface area,developed pore structure,and low cost.However,the application of BC for water remediation has many limita-tions.Driven by the intense desire of overcoming unfavorable factors,a growing number of researchers have carried out to produce BC-based composite materials,which not only improved the physicochemical properties of BC,but also obtained a new composite material which combined the advantages of BC and other materials.This article reviewed previous researches on BC and BC-based composite materials,and discussed in terms of the preparation methods,the physicochemical properties,the performance of contaminant removal,and underlying adsorption mechanisms.Then the recent research progress in the removal of inorganic and organic contaminants by BC and BC-based materials was also systematically reviewed.Although BC-based composite materials have shown high performance in inorganic or organic pollutants removal,the potential risks(such as stability and biological toxicity)still need to be noticed and further study.At the end of this review,future prospects for the synthesis and application of BC and BC-based materials were proposed.This review will help the new researchers systematically understand the research progress of BC and BC-based composite materials in environmental remediation.Liping Liang Fenfen Xi Weishou Tan Xu Meng Baowei Hu Xiangke Wang 2021Biochar2021,3,3:13

11Response surface method using grey relational analysis for decision making in weapon system selection显示文摘A proper weapon system is very important for a national defense system. Generally, it means selecting the optimal weapon system among many alternatives, which is a multipleattribute decision making(MADM) problem. This paper proposes a new mathematical model based on the response surface method(RSM) and the grey relational analysis(GRA). RSM is used to obtain the experimental points and analyze the factors that have a significant impact on the selection results. GRA is used to analyze the trend relationship between alternatives and reference series. And then an RSM model is obtained, which can be used to calculate all alternatives and obtain ranking results. A real world application is introduced to illustrate the utilization of the model for the weapon selection problem. 12Mechanistic insights into sequestration of U(VI) toward magnetic biochar: Batch, XPS and EXAFS techniques显示文摘The magnetic iron oxide(Fe_3O_4) nanoparticles stabilized on the biochar were synthesized by fast pyrolysis of Fe(II)-loaded hydrophyte biomass under N_2 conditions. The batch experiments showed that magnetic biochar presented a large removal capacity(54.35 mg/g)at pH 3.0 and 293 K. The reductive co-precipitation of U(VI) to U(IV) by magnetic biochar was demonstrated according to X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and X-ray absorption near edge structure analysis. According to extended X-ray absorption fine structure analysis, the occurrence of U-Fe and U-U shells indicated that high effective removal of uranium was primarily inner-sphere coordination and then reductive co-precipitation at low pH. 13A New Species of the Genus Xenophrys(Amphibia: Anura: Megophryidae) from Libo County, Guizhou, China显示文摘A new species of the genus Xenophrys is described from a karst cave environment of Libo County, Guizhou Province, Southern China. The new species, Xenophrys liboensis sp. nov., is distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following characters: 1) tympanum distinct; 2) vomerine teeth present; 3) the length of lower arm and hand larger than the half of snout-vent; 4) heels overlapped slightly when the flexed legs are held at right angles to the body axis; 5) toe tips with rudimentary webs and without grooves; 6) dermal fringes moderate; 7) tubercles on the dorsum forming an X-shaped weak ridge; 8) horn-like tubercle at the edge of the upper eyelid distinct; 9) color of the iris in life is brown. In Bayesian phylogenetic analysis of 22 species of Xenophrys, all the individuals of X. liboensis sp. nov. clustered into a monophyletic clade with high posterior probabilities. In addition, the ranges of genetic divergences of X. liboensis sp. nov. with other species were interspecific rather than intraspecific. 15A New Species of the Genus Protobothrops(Squamata:Viperidae:Crotalinae) from the Dabie Mountains,Anhui,China显示文摘During a biological survey in July 2011, a pit viper was collected from the Yaoluoping Nature Reserve in the Dabie Mountains, Anhui, China. The pit viper's the total length measured 836 mm with a dorsal ground color of yellowbrown, decorated by 56 dark-brown transverse bands. The 4thsupralabial squama of the new species is separated from subocular by two squamae, and the tip of tail is orange; this combination of characters distinguish it from other species of the genus Protobothrops. 16Hydrogen generation from steam reforming of ethanol in dielectric barrier discharge显示文摘Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) was used for the generation of hydrogen from ethanol reforming. Effects of reaction conditions, such as vaporization temperature, ethanol flow rate, water/ethanol ratio, and addition of oxygen, on the ethanol conversion and hydrogen yield, were studied. The results showed that the increase of ethanol flow rate decreased ethanol conversion and hydrogen yield, and high water/ethanol ratio and addition of oxygen were advantageous. Ethanol conversion and hydrogen yield increased with the vaporization room temperature up to the maximum at first, and then decreased slightly. 17Characterizing the antibiotic resistance genes in a river catchment: Influence of anthropogenic activities显示文摘Previous studies on environmental antibiotics resistance genes(ARGs) have focused on the pollution sources such as wastewater treatment plants, aquaculture and livestock farms,etc. Few of them had addressed this issue in a regional scale such as river catchment. Hence,the occurrence and abundances of 23 ARGs were investigated in surface water samples collected from 38 sites which located from the river source to estuary of the Beijiang River.Among them, 11 ARGs were frequently detected in this region and 5 ARGs(sul I, sul II, tet B,tet C, and tet W) were selected for their distribution pattern analysis. The abundances of the selected ARGs were higher in the upstream(8.70 × 10~6 copies/ng DNA) and downstream areas(3.17 × 10~6 copies/ng DNA) than those in the midstream areas(1.23 × 10~6 copies/ng DNA), which was positively correlated to the population density and number of pollution sources. Pollution sources of ARGs along the Beijiang River not only had a great impact on the abundances and diversity, but also on the distribution of specific ARGs in the water samples. Both sul I and sul II were likely originated from aquaculture farms and animal farms,tet W gene was possibly associated with the mining/metal melting industry and the electric waste disposal and tet C gene was commonly found in the area with multiple pollution sources.However, the abundance of tet B was not particularly related to anthropogenic impacts. 18A New Species of the Genus Tylototriton(Amphibia: Urodela: Salamandridae) from the Southern Dabie Mountains in Anhui Province显示文摘A new species of the genus Tylototriton is described,from Yuexi county,Anhui province,in the south of the Dabie Mountains.It is based on morphological and molecular analysis.The new species is identified as belonging to the Tylototriton asperrimus group and shares a number of similarities with T.wenxianensis,T.broadoridgus and T.dabienicus.The diagnostic characteristics of the new species are as follows: the head length is greater than the width of the head; bony ridges on the head are prominent and necked-in; the distal digit ends,ventral digits,peripheral area of the cloaca and the tail's lower edge are orange.The result from the molecular analysis of the genus Tylototriton(including the type specimen of the new species) based on three mitochondrial genes(ND1,ND2 and CYTB) indicated that the new species was close to T.wenxianensis,T.dabienicus,and T.broadoridgus,but formed an independent clade.This result was consistent with the morphological analysis above,which supports the theory that the population distributed in the south of the Dabie Mountains,namely in from Yuexi county,Anhui province,represented a distinct species,Tylototriton anhuiensis sp.nov.Lifu QIAN Xiaonan SUN Jiaqi LI Weibo GUO Tao PAN Xing KANG Hui WANG Jianping JIANG Jun WU Baowei ZHANG 2017Asian Herpetological Research2017,18,3:6
19Simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification of flue gas by pre-ozonation combined with ammonia absorption显示文摘A process of simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification of flue gas was conducted in this study.The flue gas containing 200 mg·m^-3NO,1000-4000 mg·m^-3SO(2,)3%-9%O(2)and 10%-20%CO(2)was first oxidized b(y)O3 and then absorbed by ammonia in a bubbling reactor.Increasing the ammonia concentration or the SO2 content in flue gas can promote the absorption of NOx and extend the effective absorption time.On the contrary,both increasing the absorbent temperature or the O(2)content shorten the effective absorption time of NO((x.))The change of solution pH had substantial influence on NOx absorption.In the presence of CO(2)the NOx removal efficiency reached 89.2%when the absorbent temperature was raised to 60℃and the effective absorption time can be maintained for 8 h,which attribute to the buffering effect in the absorbent.Besides,both the addition of Na(2)S2 O3 and urea can promote the NOx removal efficiency when the absorbent temperature is 25℃and the addition of Na(2)S2 O3 had achieved better results.The advantage of adding Na(2)S2 O3 became less evident at higher absorbent temperature and coexistence of CO(2.)In all experiments,SO(2)removal efficiency was always above 99%,and it was basically not affected by the above factors.Baowei Wang Shumei Yao Yeping Peng 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,9:5
20Dynamic caustics test of blast load impact on neighboring different cross-section roadways显示文摘Using digital laser dynamic caustics experimental system and conducting simulation experiment researched the influence rule of blasting excavation of a new roadway on neighboring existed different cross-section roadways. The experimental results show that the influence of blast load on adjacent roadway has a good relationship with the cross-section of roadway. The expansion distance of precrack existed in circular, arch-wall, rectangular roadway is respectively 1.76, 1.61 and 0 cm under blast load.At the same time, the direct-blast side of rectangular roadway has more obvious damage compared with circular and arch-wall roadway. It explains that plane reflects more stress wave than arc, so that it exerts more tensile failure in the direct-blast side, which leads to less stress wave diffracting to the precrack in the back-blast side. When the precrack extends, higher value dynamic stress intensity factor in circular roadway works longer than that of arch-wall roadway. Indirectly, it explains that plane's weakening function on stress wave is significantly stronger than arc.
