| 1 | Power system stabilizer design using hybrid multi-objective particle swarm optimization with chaos显示文摘A novel technique for the optimal tuning of power system stabilizer (PSS) was proposed,by integrating the modified particle swarm optimization (MPSO) with the chaos (MPSOC).Firstly,a modification in the particle swarm optimization (PSO) was made by introducing passive congregation (PC).It helps each swarm member in receiving a multitude of information from other members and thus decreases the possibility of a failed attempt at detection or a meaningless search.Secondly,the MPSO and chaos were hybridized (MPSOC) to improve the global searching capability and prevent the premature convergence due to local minima.The robustness of the proposed PSS tuning technique was verified on a multi-machine power system under different operating conditions.The performance of the proposed MPSOC was compared to the MPSO,PSO and GA through eigenvalue analysis,nonlinear time-domain simulation and statistical tests.Eigenvalue analysis shows acceptable damping of the low-frequency modes and time domain simulations also show that the oscillations of synchronous machines can be rapidly damped for power systems with the proposed PSSs.The results show that the presented algorithm has a faster convergence rate with higher degree of accuracy than the GA,PSO and MPSO. | Mahdiyeh Eslami Hussain Shareef Azah Mohamed | 2011 | Journal of Central South University2011,18,5: | 9 |
| 2 | A novel coordinated control strategy considering power smoothing for a hybrid photovoltaic/battery energy storage system显示文摘This work presents a novel coordinated control strategy of a hybrid photovoltaic/battery energy storage(PV/BES) system. Different controller operation modes are simulated considering normal, high fluctuation and emergency conditions. When the system is grid-connected, BES regulates the fluctuated power output which ensures smooth net injected power from the PV/BES system. In islanded operation, BES system is transferred to single master operation during which the frequency and voltage of the islanded microgrid are regulated at the desired level. PSCAD/EMTDC simulation validates the proposed method and obtained favorable results on power set-point tracking strategies with very small deviations of net output power compared to the power set-point. | 3 | A method for real power transfer allocation using multivariable regression analysis显示文摘A multivariable regression(MVR) approach is proposed to identify the real power transfer between generators and loads.Based on solved load flow results,it first uses modified nodal equation method(MNE) to determine real power contribution from each generator to loads.Then,the results of MNE method and load flow information are utilized to determine suitable regression coefficients using MVR model to estimate the power transfer.The 25-bus equivalent system of south Malaysia is utilized as a test system to illustrate the effectiveness of the MVR output compared to that of the MNE method.The error of the estimate of MVR method ranges from 0.001 4 to 0.007 9.Furthermore,when compared to MNE method,MVR method computes generator contribution to loads within 26.40 ms whereas the MNE method takes 360 ms for the calculation of same real power transfer allocation.Therefore,MVR method is more suitable for real time power transfer allocation. | Hussain Shareef Azah Mohamed Saifunizam Abd.Khalid Mohd Wazir Mustafa | 2012 | Journal of Central South University2012,19,1: | 5 |
| 4 | Inflammatory bowel disease associated neoplasia:Asurgeon's perspective显示文摘Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) is associated with increased risk of colorectal cancer(CRC). The risk is known to increase with longer duration of the disease, family history of CRC, and history of primary sclerosing cholangitis. The diagnosis of the neoplastic changes associated with IBD is difficult owing to the heterogeneous endoscopic appearance and interobserver variability of the pathological diagnosis. Screening and surveillance guidelines have been established which aim for early detection of neoplasia. Several surgical options are available for the treatment of IBD-associated neoplasia. Patients' morbidities, risk factors for CRC, degree and the extent of neoplasia must be considered in choosing the surgical treatment. | 5 | Comparative study of effectiveness of different var compensation devices in large-scale power networks显示文摘A comparison of the effectiveness of installing reactive power compensators,such as shunt capacitors,static var compensators(SVCs),and static synchronous compensators(STATCOMs),was presented in large-scale power networks.A suitable bus was first identified using modal analysis method.The single shunt capacitor,single SVC,and single STATCOM were installed separately on the most critical bus.The effects of the installation of different devices on power loss reduction,voltage profile improvement,and voltage stability margin enhancement were examined and compared for 57-and 118-bus transmission systems.The comparative study results show that SVC,and STATCOM are expensive compared to shunt capacitor,yet the effect of installing STATCOM is better than SVC and the effect of installing SVC is better than that of shunt capacitor in achieving power loss reduction,voltage profile improvement and voltage stability margin enhancement. | Reza Sirjani Azah Mohamed Hussain Shareef | 2013 | Journal of Central South University2013,20,3: | 3 |
| 6 | Ethnopharmacology,phytochemistry,and biological activities of Cymbopogon citratus(DC.) Stapf extracts显示文摘Cymbopogon citratus is a widely distributed perennial herb belonging to the Poaceae family and has been extensively consumed for its medicinal,cosmetic,and nutritional effects for centuries.A large number of reports have been published describing the pharmacological,biological,and therapeutic actions of this herb.In this review,we summarized the literatures on related studies(up to January,2014) that highlighted the pharmacologic and biological effects of the major phytochemicals isolated from C.citratus extracts and its essential oil.The components of the essential oils found in C.citratus have a similar pharmacokinetic properties,including absorption,distribution,metabolism,and excretion.They are quickly absorbed following oral,pulmonary,and dermal administration.Based on the published reports,it can also be inferred that,after absorption from the small intestine,some phytochemicals in C.citratus can undergo oxidation,glucuronidation,sulfation,and/or O-methylation.Excretion is through urine,feces and/or expired volatiles.The biotransformation reactions of C.citratus bioactive constituents are essential for its relatively safe consumption and therapeutic applications.The data available so far warrant further studies evaluating C.citratus pharmacokinetics.Reliable pharmacokinetic data in humans would be critical for a better understanding of the the systemic handling of C.citratus. | Christopher E Ekpenyong Ernest Akpan Azah Nyoh | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2015,13,5: | 3 |
