2Wavelet neural network applied for prognostication of contact pressure between soil and driving wheel显示文摘This paper describes the measurement of contact pressure in the context of wheel–terrain interaction as affected by wheel load and tire inflation pressure when fusion of the wavelet transform with the back-propagation(BP)neural network is applied to construct the wavelet neural network contact pressure prediction model.To this aim,a controlled soil bin testing facility equipped with single-wheel tester was utilized while three levels of velocity,three levels of slippage and three levels of wheel load were applied.Using image processing technique,contact area values were determined which were subsequently used for quantification of contact pressure.Performances of the different predictor models incorporated of various mother wavelets were evaluated using standard statistical evaluation criteria.Root mean square error and coefficient of determination values of 0.1382 and 0.9864 achieved by the optimal wavelet neural network are better than that of BP neural network.The proposed tool typifies a high learning speed,enhanced predicting accuracy,and strong robustness.Hamid Taghavifar Aref Mardani 2014Information Processing in Agriculture2014,1,1:7
3Causes of rockfalls in Al-Huwayshah area,Yemen显示文摘According to topography of Yemen,most areas and villages are located at obligated crest,toe of mountain and under cliffs.Therefore Al-Huwayshah consisting of Tawilah sandstone group is characterized by steep slope reach to 90° in some areas.This area is affected by strong tectonic movements and faults that occurred during the geological epochs.This effect enhances to find out fractures and joints as well as the rocks become brittle and ready to slide depending on the position of area.And there are some fractures and joints on the surface of the areas due to tectonic movement associated with opening the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.The rainfalls,fractures,joints,earthquakes,gravity,vegetations,temperatures and human activities play a big role in the processes of rockfalls and landslides in this area.All those factors are considered as the basic causes and catalyzed factors for occurrence of rockfall in the studide area.In addition,the authors carried out laboratory test for many rock samples to get the physical properties of the rocks.Aref M. 4Monitoring of coastline changes along the Red Sea,Yemen based on remote sensing technique显示文摘The coastline changes along Yemen's the Red Sea (Al-muka, Al-khohah, Al-tiaf, Ras Katib and Al-Urji spits) were studied using a series of landsat images (MSS, TM and ETM+, 1972, 1989, 2000, 2006), coupled with geomorphological, sedimentological and meteorological findings. Comparison of satellite images provided a viable means for establishing long-term coastal changes (accretion and erosion) as observed in the studied spits (Al-Urj, Ras Sham, Ras Maemoon, Ras Katib, Al-Mandar, Nukhaylah, Mujamilah, Ras Ashab Abu-Zahr and Mukha). The rate of the spit accretion has the greatest value up to 89 pixel/year corresponding to 72 290 m2/year in Mukha, while the spit erosion shows greatest value up to 131 pixel/year corresponding to 106 404 m2/year in Mujamilah. 5Automatic fuzzy-DBSCAN algorithm for morphological and overlapping datasets显示文摘Clustering is one of the unsupervised learning problems.It is a procedure which partitions data objects into groups.Many algorithms could not overcome the problems of morphology,overlapping and the large number of clusters at the same time.Many scientific communities have used the clustering algorithm from the perspective of density,which is one of the best methods in clustering.This study proposes a density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise(DBSCAN)algorithm based on the selected high-density areas by automatic fuzzy-DBSCAN(AFD)which works with the initialization of two parameters.AFD,by using fuzzy and DBSCAN features,is modeled by the selection of high-density areas and generates two parameters for merging and separating automatically.The two generated parameters provide a state of sub-cluster rules in the Cartesian coordinate system for the dataset.The model overcomes the problems of clustering such as morphology,overlapping,and the number of clusters in a dataset simultaneously.In the experiments,all algorithms are performed on eight data sets with 30 times of running.Three of them are related to overlapping real datasets and the rest are morphologic and synthetic datasets.It is demonstrated that the AFD algorithm outperforms other recently developed clustering algorithms.YELGHI Aref KÖSE Cemal YELGHI Asef SHAHKAR Amir 2020Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2020,31,6:5
6Utility of central venous pressure measurement in renal transplantation: Is it evidence based?显示文摘Adequate intravenous fluid therapy is essential in renal transplant recipients to ensure a good allograft perfusion. Central venous pressure(CVP) has been cons-idered the corners-tone to guide the fluid therapy for decades; it was the only available simple tool worldwide. However, the revolutionary advances in assessing the dynamic preload variables together with the availability of new equipment to precisely measure the effect of intravenous fluids on the cardiac output had created a question mark on the future role of CVP. Des-pite the critical role of fluid therapy in the field of tra-nsplantation. There are only a few clinical studies that compared the CVP guided fluid therapy with the other modern techniques and their relation to the outcome in renal transplantation. Our work sheds some light on the available published data in renal transplantation, together with data from other disciplines evaluating the utility of central venous pressure measurement. 7Geostatistics Studies and Geochemical Modeling Based on Core Data,Sheytoor Iron Deposit,Iran显示文摘In general,the purpose of the mineralization modeling is the advancement of a mineral exploration project and ultimately,the extractive design of a deposit,which is one of the most important stages in mining engineering.Mineralization modeling is divided into two general categories,superficial and deep modeling.In surface modeling,the aim is finding abnormal locations in terms of mineralization at the study area,which is commonly used in the early stages of exploration as one of the means for locating exploratory boreholes.After drilling in the study area with the aim of identifying mineralization and reserve estimation it is necessary to obtain deep mineralization position and its geometric features,using statistical and modeling methods.Using mathematical,statistical and modeling methods,we can predict the position of iron mineralization in places where drilling is not done and eventually reach a three-dimensional model of the mineral materials underground.As a case study,the deep information about the boreholes of the sheytoor mining area in Yazd province of Iran was investigated.Iron mineralization was modeled as 2D cumulative model and 3D block model,and the results were presented.Finally the geochemical threshold and the anomalous limit of iron element are calculated by concentration-volume(C-V)fractal method in this deposit.Geochemical threshold and the anomalous limit for Fe in this deposit are 24.7%and 34.3%respectively.Aref Shirazi Adel Shirazy Shahab Saki Ardeshir Hezarkhani 2018Journal of Geological Resource and Engineering2018,6,3:4

9Implementation of multilayer perceptron(MLP)and radial basis function(RBF)neural networks to predict solution gas-oil ratio of crude oil systems显示文摘Exact determination of pressure-volume-temperature(PVT)properties of the reservoir oils is necessary for reservoir calculations,reservoir performance prediction,and the design of optimal production conditions.The objective of this study is to develop intelligent and reliable models based on multilayer perceptron(MLP)and radial basis function(RBF)neural networks for estimating the solution gas–oil ratio as a function of bubble point pressure,reservoir temperature,oil gravity(API),and gas specific gravity.These models were developed and tested using a total of 710 experimental data sets representing the samples of crude oil from various geographical locations around the world.Performance of the developed MLP and RBF models were evaluated and investigated against a number of well-known empirical correlations using statistical and graphical error analyses.The results indicated that the proposed models outperform the considered empirical correlations,providing a strong agreement between predicted and experimental values,However,the developed RBF exhibited higher accuracy and efficiency compared to the proposed MLP model.Aref Hashemi Fath Farshid Madanifar Masood Abbasia 2020Petroleum2020,6,1:3
10Effect of adding natural pozzolana on geotechnical properties of lime-stabilized clayey soil显示文摘Clayey soils in Syria cover a total area of more than 20,000 km^2 of the country,most of which are located in the southwestern region.In many places of the country,the clayey soils caused severe damage to infrastructures.Extensive studies have been carried out on the stabilization of clayey soils using lime.Syria is rich in both lime and natural pozzolana.However,few works have been conducted to investigate the influence of adding natural pozzolana on the geotechnical properties of lime-treated clayey soils.The aim of this paper is to understand the effect of adding natural pozzolana on some geotechnical properties of lime-stabilized clayey soils.Natural pozzolana and lime are added to soil within the range of 0%-20% and 0%-8%,respectively.Consistency,compaction,California bearing ratio(CBR) and linear shrinkage properties are particularly investigated.The test results show that the investigated properties of limetreated clayey soils can be considerably enhanced when the natural pozzolana is added as a stabilizing agent.Analysis results of scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX) show significant changes in the microstructure of the treated clayey soil.A better flocculation of clayey particles and further formation of cementing materials in the natural pozzolanalime-treated clayey soil are clearly observed.Aref al-Swaidani Ibrahim Hammoud Ayman Meziab 2016Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2016,8,5:3
11Development of an artificial neural network model for prediction of bubble point pressure of crude oils显示文摘Bubble point pressure is one of the most important pressureevolumeetemperature properties of crude oil,and it plays an important role in reservoir and production engineering calculations.It can be precisely determined experimentally.Although,experimental methods present valid and reliable results,they are expensive,time-consuming,and require much care when taking test samples.Some equations of state and empirical correlations can be used as alternative methods to estimate reservoir fluid properties(e.g.,bubble point pressure);however,these methods have a number of limitations.In the present study,a novel numerical model based on artificial neural network(ANN)is proposed for the prediction of bubble point pressure as a function of solution gaseoil ratio,reservoir temperature,oil gravity(API),and gas specific gravity in petroleum systems.The model was developed and evaluated using 760 experimental data sets gathered from oil fields around the world.An optimization process was performed on networks with different structures.Based on the obtained results,a network with one hidden layer and six neurons was observed to be associated with the highest efficiency for predicting bubble point pressure.The obtained ANN model was found to be reliable for the prediction of bubble point pressure of crude oils with solution gaseoil ratios in the range of 8.61e3298.66 SCF/STB,temperatures between 74 and 341.6F,oil gravity values of 6e56.8 API and gas gravity values between 0.521 and 3.444.The performance of the developed model was compared against those of several well-known predictive empirical correlations using statistical and graphical error analyses.The results showed that the proposed ANN model outperforms all of the studied empirical correlations significantly and provides predictions in acceptable agreement with experimental data.Aref Hashemi Fath Abdolrasoul Pouranfard Pouyan Foroughizadeh 2018Petroleum2018,4,3:3

15Pancreatic transplantation: Brief review of the current evidence显示文摘Kidney transplantation is the treatment of choice for management of end-stage renal disease.However,in diabetic patients,the underlying metabolic disturbance will persist and even may get worse after isolated kidney transplantation.Pancreatic transplantation in humans was first introduced in 1966.The initial outcome was disappointing.However,this was changed after the improvement of surgical techniques together with better patient selection and the availability of potent and better-tolerated immune-suppression like cyclosporine and induction antibodies.Combined kidney and pancreas transplantation will not only solve the problem of organ failure,but it will also stabilise or even reverse the metabolic complications of diabetes.Combined kidney and pancreas transplantation have the best long term outcome in diabetic cases with renal failure.Nevertheless,at the cost of an initial increase in morbidity and risk of mortality.Other transplantation options include pancreas after kidney transplantation and islet cell transplantation.We aim by this work to explore various options which can be offered to a diabetic patient with advanced chronic kidney disease.Our work will provide a simplified,yet up-to-date information regarding the different management options for those diabetic chronic kidney failure patients.Ahmed Aref Tariq Zayan Ravi Pararajasingam Ajay Sharma Ahmed Halawa 2019World Journal of Transplantation2019,9,4:2

20Investigation of Environmental and Biological Effects of Rare Earth Elements (REEs) with a Special Focus on Industrial and Mining Pollutions in Iran:A Review显示文摘The present article is a review study on the types of rare earth elements(REEs),environmental and biological effects as well as the sources of emission of these elements as pollution in nature.The purpose of this study is to provide a vision in environmental planning and control of pollution caused by REEs.The evaluation of rare earth elements was studied in human life and its environmental and biological effects,which have particular importance and are entering the life cycle through industrial and mining pollution sources.Since mining activities intensify the dispersion of these elements in the environment and the existence of industrial factories located around urban drainage system plays a unique role in creating and spreading pollution caused by rare earth elements;As a result,two case studies were conducted on two mining and industrial areas.The first case is the Choghart mine in Yazd province as an example of mining pollution,and the second case study is performed on the Kor river as an example of industrial pollution which is caused by industrial activities around it,Then the results are well explained to show both two environments of litho and hydro.Due to this fact that produced environmental pollution can cause exchange pollutant compounds with the surrounding environment besides its long-lasting destructive effects;It can cause irreversible biological effects on living organisms.By targeting this evaluation,several techniques can be proposed to prevent the entry and dispersal of rare earth elements from pollution sources besides methods to reduce the damage of these elements to the ecosystem.Aref Shirazi Adel Shirazy Amin Beiranvand Pour Ardeshir Hezarkhani Shayan Khakmardan 2022Advances in Geological and Geotechnical Engineering Research2022,4,1:1
