1Combustion synthesis of Ce^(3+), Eu^(3+) and Dy^(3+) activated NaCaPO_4 phosphors显示文摘The preparation of NaCaPO4 doped with rare earth (RE) ions Ce3+, Eu3+ and Dy3+ by combustion method was described. Under UV excitation (251 nm) of NaCaPO4:Ce3+ showsd emission (367 nm) in UV range. When NaCaPO4:Dy3+ phosphor was excited at 349 nm, the emission spectrum showed intense bands at 482 nm (blue) and 576 nm (yellow). In Eu activated NaCaPO4 phosphor, the emission spectrum showed a dominant peak at 594 nm (orange) while others were at 614 and 621 nm (red) when excited at 393 nm. The prepared phosphor was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and photoluminescence (PL) measurement. Thus, the photoluminescence behavior of NaCaPO4:Ce3+ was strongly suggested for scintillator. Likewise, Eu3+ and Dy3+ activated NaCaPO4 phosphors were recommended for near-UV white light-emitting diodes (LEDs).K N Shinde S J Dhoble Animesh Kumar 2011Journal of Rare Earths2011,29,6:7

5Analysis of phytochemical profile of Terminalia arjuna bark extract with antioxidative and antimicrobial properties显示文摘Objective:To investigate phytochemical screening, antimicrobial activity and qualitative thin layer chromatographic separation of flavonoid components, antioxidant activity and total flavonoid compound of Terminalia arjuna. Methods:For phytochemical screening, some common and available standard tests were done.Antimicrobial bioassay was done through agar well diffusion method.Detection of antioxidant activity and flavonoid compounds were done through thin layer chromatography.Total antioxidant activity was measured by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH)in colorimetric method.Aluminum chloride colorimetric method was used for total flavonoid determination. Results:Phytochemical screening showed the active compounds presence in high concentration, such as phytosterol, lactones, flavonoids, phenolic compounds and tannins and glycosides. The anlimicrobial activity of extract showed that greater inhibition zone against Gram negative bacteria than Gram positive bacteria. This methanolic extract showed a promising antioxidant activity,as absorption of DPPH redicles decreased in DPPH free radical scavenging assay.Flavonoids components having antioxidant property present in the methanol extract at a level of199.00 mg quercetin equivalent/g of dried methanol extract in colorimetric method. Conclusions:The Terminalia arjuna bark extract revealed the presence of bio-active constituents which are known to exhibit medicinal as well as physiological activities.Shreya Mandal Arpita Patra Animesh Samanta Suchismita Roy Arpita Mandal Tapasi Das Mahapatra Shrabani Pradhan Koushik Das Dilip Kumar Nandi 2013Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2013,3,12:1
6Pollen Morphology of Indian Species of Saraca L.(Leguminosae)-A Threatened and Legendary Medicinal Tree显示文摘The genus Saraca L.(Leguminosae)is a universal panacea in herbal medicine. The present study investigates the comparative pollen morphology of four species of Saraca viz.S.asoca(Roxb.)de Wilde,S.declinata(Jack)Miq.,S.indica L.,and S.thaipingensis Cantley ex Prain growing in India to reveal differences of their pollen structures to aid taxonomic and evolutionary values. The detailed morphology and surface structure of pollen grains were studied and described using light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The pollen grains of Saraca showed isopolar,para-syncolporate,tricolporate,with radially symmetric, prolate and prolate-spheroidal structure. The surface of pollen of S.indica is rugulate with large lirae but in S.declinata, the surface is micro-rugulate to vermiculate with relatively thin lirae and that of S.thaipingensis is indistinct as the psilate surface with a frequent protuberance and fewer perforations were observed along with the gemmae like structure.Exine ornamentation helped to separate S.indica and S.asoca.Exine thickness varies from 3-4μm.Presence of protuberance and exine thickness varies among individuals of the species spread over different locations.Present work also provides a unique palynological identity and interrelationship of these four species based on cluster analysis taking 23 pollen characters with the help of statistical method like the plotting of ternary graph.Ternary plots also helped to calculate the level of plasticity of each character in the intra-and inter-specific level.Sujit Sil Tanmoy Mallick Tuhin Pal Animesh Mondal Kalyan Kumar De Asok Ghosh 2019Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2019,88,3:0
7Specific gravity of some woody species in the Srinagar Valley of the Garhwal Himalayas, India显示文摘In this study, we investigated the specific gravity of wood samples collected from a total of 31 woody species, consisting of 20 trees, 10 shrubs and one species of bamboo from sub-tropical regions of Garhwal Himalayas, India. Results show that among these woody species, the specific gravity of trees ranged from 0.34 for Erythrina suberosa to 0.83 for Albizia procera. For shrub species the specific gravity of Ricinus communis was 0.39 and that of Dodonaea viscosa 0.93. The average specific gravity of trees was 0.58 and of shrubs 0.66.Animesh KANAWJIA Munesh KUMAR Mehraj A. SHEIKH 2013Forestry Studies in China2013,15,1:0
