4Effects of resource additions on species richness and ANPP in an alpine meadow community显示文摘Aims Theories based on resource additions indicate that plant species richness is mainly determined by the number of limiting resources.However,the individual effects of various limiting resources on species richness and aboveground net primary productivity(ANPP)are less well understood.Here,we analyzed potential linkages between additions of limiting resources,species loss and ANPP increase and further explored the underlying mechanisms.Methods Resources(N,P,K and water)were added in a completely randomized block design to alpine meadow plots in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.Plant aboveground biomass,species composition,mean plant height and light availability were measured in each plot.Regression and analysis of variance were used to analyze the responses of these measures to the different resource-addition treatments.Important Findings Species richness decreased with increasing number of added limiting resources,suggesting that plant diversity was apparently determined by the number of limiting resources.Nitrogen was the most important limiting resource affecting species richness,whereas Pand K alone had negligible effects.The largest reduction in species richness occurred when all three elements were added in combination.Water played a different role compared with the other limiting resources.Species richness increased when water was added to the treatments with N and P or with N,P and K.The decreases in species richness after resource additions were paralleled by increases in ANPP and decreases in light penetration into the plant canopy,suggesting that increased light competitionwas responsible for the negative effects of resource additions on plant species richness.Zhengwei Ren Qi Li Chengjin Chu Luqiang Zhao Jieqi Zhang Dexiecuo Ai Yingbo Yang Gang Wang 2010Journal of Plant Ecology2010,3,1:40
5Pollutant concentrations and pollution loads in stormwater runoff from different land uses in Chongqing显示文摘To investigate the distribution of pollutant concentrations and pollution loads in stormwater runoff in Chongqing,six typical land use types were selected and studied from August 2009 to September 2011.Statistical analysis on the distribution of pollutant concentrations in all water samples shows that pollutant concentrations fluctuate greatly in rainfall-runoff,and the concentrations of the same pollutant also vary greatly in different rainfall events.In addition,it indicates that the event mean concentrations (EMCs) of total suspended solids (TSS) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) from urban traffic roads (UTR) are significantly higher than those from residential roads (RR),commercial areas (CA),concrete roofs (CR),tile roofs (TRoof),and campus catchment areas (CCA);and the EMCs of total phosphorus (TP) and NH3-N from UTR and CA are 2.35-5 and 3 times of the class-III standard values specified in the Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water (GB 3838-2002).The EMCs of Fe,Pb and Cd are also much higher than the class-III standard values.The analysis of pollution load producing coefficients (PLPC) reveals that the main pollution source of TSS,COD and TP is UTR.The analysis of correlations between rainfall factors and EMCs/PLPC indicates that rainfall duration is correlated with EMCs/PLPC of TSS for TRoof and TP for UTR,while rainfall intensity is correlated with EMCs/PLPC of TP for both CR and CCA.The results of this study provide a reference for better management of non-point source pollution in urban regions.Shumin Wang Qiang He Hainan Ai Zhentao Wang Qianqian Zhang 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,3:33
6Gain self-scheduled H_∞ control for morphing aircraft in the wing transition process based on an LPV model显示文摘This article investigates gain self-scheduled H 1 robust control system design for a tailless fold- ing-wing morphing aircraft in the wing shape varying process. During the wing morphing phase, the aircraft's dynamic response will be governed by time-varying aerodynamic forces and moments. Nonlinear dynamic equations of the morphing aircraft are linearized by using Jacobian linearization approach, and a linear parameter varying (LPV) model of the morphing aircraft in wing folding is obtained. A multi-loop controller for the morphing aircraft is formulated to guarantee stability for the wing shape transition process. The proposed controller uses a set of inner-loop gains to provide stability using classical techniques, whereas a gain self-scheduled H 1 outer-loop controller is devised to guarantee a specific level of robust stability and performance for the time-varying dynamics. The closed-loop simulations show that speed and altitude vary slightly during the whole wing folding process, and they converge rapidly after the process ends. This proves that the gain self-scheduled H 1 robust controller can guarantee a satisfactory dynamic performance for the morphing aircraft during the whole wing shape transition process. 8Ginsenoside Rgl protects against ischemic/reperfusioninduced neuronal injury through miR-144/Nrf2/ARE pathway显示文摘Ginsenoside Rg1 (Rg1),a saponin extracted from Panax ginseng,has been well documented to be effective against ischemic/ reperfusion (I/R)neuronal injury.However,the underlying mechanisms remain obscure.In the present study,we investigated the roles of Nrf2 and miR-144 in the protective effects of Rgl against I/R-induced neuronal injury.In OGD/R-treated PC12 cells,Rgl (0.01-1 μmol/L)dose-dependently attenuated the cell injury accompanied by prolonging nuclear accumulation of Nrf2,enhancing the transcriptional activity of Nrf2,as well as promoting the expression of ARE-target genes.The activation of the Nrf2/ARE pathway by Rgl was independent of disassociation with Keapl,but resulted from post-translational regulations.Knockdown of Nrf2 abolished all the protective changes of Rgl in OG-D/R-treated PC12 cells.Furthermore,Rgl treatment significantly decreased the expression of miR-144,which downregulated Nrf2 production by targeting its 3'-untranlated region after OGD/R.Knockdown of Nrf2 had no effect on the expression of miR-144,suggesting that miR-144 was an upstream regulator of Nrf2.We revealed that there was a direct binding between Nrf2 and miR-144 in PC12 cells.Application of anti-miR-144 occluded the activation of the Nrf2/ ARE pathway by Rgl in OGD/R-treated PC12 cells.In tMCAO rats,administration of Rgl (20 mg/kg).significantly alleviated ischemic injury,and activated Nff2/ARE pathway.The protective effects of Rgl were abolished by injecting of AAV-HIF-miR-144-shRNA into the predicted ischemic penumbra.In conclusion,our results demonstrate that Rgl alleviates oxidative,stress after I/R through inhibiting miR-144 activity and subsequently promoting the Nrf2/ARE pathway at the post-translational-level.Shi-feng Chu Zhao Zhang Xin Zhou Wen-bin He Chen Chen Piao Luo Dan-dan Liu Qi-di Ai Hai-fan Gong Zhen-zhen Wang Hong-shuo Sun Zhong-ping Feng Nai-hong Chen 2019Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2019,40,1:30
9The Association of Maternal Body Composition and Dietary Intake with the Risk of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus during the Second Trimester in a Cohort of Chinese Pregnant Women显示文摘Objective To investigate the association of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM). Methods A total 154 GDM subjects and 981 controls were enrolled in a prospective cohort study in 11 hospitals from May 20, 2012 to December 31, 2013. Bioelectrical impedance analysis and dietary surveys were used to determine body composition and to evaluate the intake of nutrients in subjects at 21-24 weeks' gestation(WG). Logistic regression analysis was applied to explore the relationships of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of GDM morbidity. Results Age, pre-pregnant body weight(BW), and body mass index(BMI) were associated with increased risk of GDM. Fat mass(FM), fat mass percentage(FMP), extracellular water(ECW), BMI, BW, energy, protein, fat, and carbohydrates at 21-24 WG were associated with an increased risk of GDM. In contrast, fat free mass(FFM), muscular mass(MM), and intracellular water(ICW) were associated with a decreased risk of GDM. 11Estimation of biomass in wheat using random forest regression algorithm and remote sensing data显示文摘Wheat biomass can be estimated using appropriate spectral vegetation indices.However,the accuracy of estimation should be further improved for on-farm crop management.Previous studies focused on developing vegetation indices,however limited research exists on modeling algorithms.The emerging Random Forest(RF) machine-learning algorithm is regarded as one of the most precise prediction methods for regression modeling.The objectives of this study were to(1) investigate the applicability of the RF regression algorithm for remotely estimating wheat biomass,(2) test the performance of the RF regression model,and(3) compare the performance of the RF algorithm with support vector regression(SVR) and artificial neural network(ANN) machine-learning algorithms for wheat biomass estimation.Single HJ-CCD images of wheat from test sites in Jiangsu province were obtained during the jointing,booting,and anthesis stages of growth.Fifteen vegetation indices were calculated based on these images.In-situ wheat above-ground dry biomass was measured during the HJ-CCD data acquisition.The results showed that the RF model produced more accurate estimates of wheat biomass than the SVR and ANN models at each stage,and its robustness is as good as SVR but better than ANN.The RF algorithm provides a useful exploratory and predictive tool for estimating wheat biomass on a large scale in Southern China.Li'ai Wang Xudong Zhou Xinkai Zhu Zhaodi Dong Wenshan Guo 2016The Crop Journal2016,4,3:30
12Shenfu Injection(参附注射液) Inhibits Inflammation in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction Complicated by Cardiac Shock显示文摘Objectives: To investigate the effect of Shenfu Injection(参附注射液, SFI) on inflammatory factors in patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock(CS) treated with and intra-aortic balloon pump(IABP). Methods: This study enrolled 60 patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI) complicated by CS. Patients underwent IABP and emergency percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) were randomly divided into two groups by random number table with 30 cases in each group, one given SFI treatment(100 m L/24 h), one not. The two groups were then compared in a clinical setting for left ventricular function, biochemical indicators and Inflammatory factors, including C-reactive proteins(CRP), interleukin-1(IL-1) and tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α). Major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events(MACCE) events were compared between patients of the two groups both in-hospital and in follow-ups. Results: The IABP support treatment times of patients in the IABP+SFI group were significantly shorter than the IABP group(52.87±28.84 vs. 87.45±87.31, P=0.047). In the patients of the IABP+SFI group, the CRP peak appeared in 24 h after PCI operation. The CRP peak in the patients of the IABP+SFI group was significantly lower than that in the IABP group(31.27±3.93 vs. 34.62±3.47, P=0.001). The increases in range of TNF-α in the patients of the IABP+SFI group were significantly lower than those of the IABP group(182.29±22.79 vs. 195.54±12.02, P=0.007). The increases in range of IL-1 in the patients of the IABP+SFI group were significantly lower than those of the IABP group(214.98±29.22 vs. 228.60±7.03, P=0.019). The amplitude elevated TNF-α 72 h after admission was an independent risk factor of in-hospital MACCE events(OR 0.973, 95% CI 0.890–0.987, P=0.014) in patients with STEMI and CS. 15Construction, expression and characterization of the engineered antibody against tumor surface antigen, p185^(c-erbB-2)显示文摘The c-erbB-2 proto-oncogene encodes a 185kDa protein p185, which belongs to epidermal growth factorreceptor family. Amplification of this gene has been shown to correlate with poor clinical prognosis forcertain cancer patients. The monoclonal antibody A21 which directed against p185 specifically inhibitsproliferation of tumor cells overexpressing p185, hence allows it to be a candidate for targeted therapy. Inorder to overcome several drawbacks of murine MAb, we cloned its VH and VL genes and constructed thesingle-chain Fv (scFv) through a peptide linker. The recombinant scFvA21 was expressed in Escherichiacoli and purified by the affinity column. Subsequently it was characterized by ELISA, Western blot, cellimmunohistochemistry and FACS. All these assays showed the binding activity to extracellular domain(ECD) of p185. Based on those properties of scFvA21, we further constructed the scFv-Fc fusion moleculewith a homodimer form and the recombinant product was expressed in mammalian cells. In a series ofsubsequent analysis this fusion protein showed identical antigen binding site and activity with the parentantibody. 16The C_2H_2 -type Zinc Finger Protein ZFP182 is Involved in Abscisic Acid-Induced Antioxidant Defense in Rice显示文摘C2H2 -type zinc finger proteins (ZFPs) are thought to play important roles in modulating the responses of plants to drought, salinity and oxidative stress. However, direct evidence is lacking for the involvement of these ZFPs in abscisic acid (ABA)-induced antioxidant defense in plants. In this study, the role of the rice (Oryza sativa L. sub. japonica cv. Nipponbare) C 2 H 2 -type ZFP ZFP182 in ABA-induced antioxidant defense and the relationship between ZFP182 and two rice MAPKs, OsMPK1 and OsMPK5 in ABA signaling were investigated. ABA treatment induced the increases in the expression of ZFP182, OsMPK1 and OsMPK5, and the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and ascorbate peroxidase (APX) in rice leaves. The transient gene expression analysis and the transient RNA interference (RNAi) analysis in protoplasts showed that ZFP182, OsMPK1 and OsMPK5 are involved in ABA-induced up-regulation in the activities of SOD and APX. Besides, OsMPK1 and OsMPK5 were shown to be required for the up-regulation in the expression of ZFP182 in ABA signaling, but ZFP182 did not mediate the ABA-induced up-regulation in the expression of OsMPK1 and OsMPK5. 17Hes1,an important gene for activation of hepatic stellate cells,is regulated by Notch1 and TGF-β/BMP signaling显示文摘AIM:To determine the role of Notch1 and Hes1 in regulating the activation of hepatic stellate cells(HSCs) and whether Hes1 is regulated by transforming growth factor(TGF)/bone morphogenetic protein(BMP) signaling.METHODS:Immunofluorescence staining was used to detect the expression of desmin,glial fibrillary acidic protein and the myofibroblastic marker α-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA) after freshly isolated,normal rat HSCs had been activated in culture for different numbers of days(0,1,3,7 and 10 d).The expression of α-SMA,collagen1α2(COL1α2),Notch receptors(Notch1-4),and the Notch target genes Hes1 and Hey1 were analyzed by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction.Luciferase reporter assays and Western blot were used to study the regulation of α-SMA,COL1α1,COL1α2 and Hes1 by NICD1,Hes1,CA-ALK3,and CA-ALK5 in HSC-T6 cells.Moreover,the effects of inhibiting Hes1 function in HSC-T6 cells using a Hes1 decoy were also investigated.RESULTS:The expression of Notch1 and Hes1 m RNAs was significantly down-regulated during the culture of freshly isolated HSCs.In HSC-T6 cells,Notch1 inhibited the promoter activities of α-SMA,COL1α1 and COL1α2.On the other hand,Hes1 enhanced the promoter activities of α-SMA and COL1α2,and this effect could be blocked by inhibiting Hes1 function with a Hes1 decoy.Furthermore,co-transfection of pc DNA3-CAALK3(BMP signaling activin receptor-like kinase 3) and pc DNA3.1-NICD1 further increased the expression of Hes1 compared with transfection of either vector alone in HSC-T6 cells,while pc DNA3-CA-ALK5(TGF-β signaling activin receptor-like kinase 5) reduced the effect of NICD1 on Hes1 expression.CONCLUSION:Selective interruption of Hes1 or maintenance of Hes1 at a reasonable level decreases the promoter activities of α-SMA and COL1α2,and these conditions may provide an anti-fibrotic strategy against hepatic fibrosis.Kai Zhang Yan-Qiong Zhang Wen-Bing Ai Qing-Ting Hu Qiao-Juan Zhang Lin-Yan Wan Xiao-Lian Wang Chang-Bai Liu Jiang-Feng Wu 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,3:23
