GLOBAL CLASSICAL SOLUTIONS TO QUASILINEAR HYPERBOLIC SYSTEMS WITH WEAK LINEAR DEGENERACY显示文摘Consider the following Cauchy problem for the first order quasilinear strictly hy- perbolic system ?u ?u + A(u) = 0, ?t ?x t = 0 : u = f(x). We let M = sup |f (x)| < +∞. x∈R The main result of this paper is that under the assumption that the system is weakly linearly degenerated, there exists a positive constant ε independent of M, such that the above Cauchy problem admits a unique global C1 solution u = u(t,x) for all t ∈ R, provided that +∞ |f (x)|dx ≤ ε, ?∞ +∞ ε |f(x)|dx ≤ .ZHOUYI 2004Chinese Annals of Mathematics,Series B2004,25,1:19
Behavior and dynamics of gecko’s locomotion:The effects of moving directions on a vertical surface显示文摘The study of the movement behavior of geckos on a vertical surface, including the measurement and recording of the reaction forces as they move in different directions, plays an important role in understanding the mechanics of the animals' locomotion. This study provides inspiration for the design of a control system for a bionics robot. The three-dimensional reaction forces of vertical surface-climbing geckos (Gekko gecko) were measured using a three-dimensional force-sensors-array. The behavior of gecko as it moved on a vertical surface was recorded with a high speed camera at 215 fps and the function of each foot of a gecko are discussed in this paper. The results showed that the gecko increased its velocity of movement mainly by increasing the stride frequency in the upward, downward and leftward direction and that the speed had no significant relationship to the attachment and detachment times. The feet above the center-of-mass play a key role in supporting the body, driving locomotion and balancing overturning etc. The movement behavior and foot function of geckos change correspondingly for different conditions, which results in safe and effective free vertical locomotion. This research will be helpful in designing gecko-like robots including the selection of gait planning and its control.WANG ZhouYi WANG JinTong JI AiHong ZHANG YueYun DAI ZhenDong 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,6:12

Movement behavior of a spider on a horizontal surface显示文摘Studying the locomotive behavior of animals has the potential to inspire the design of the mechanism and gait patterns of robots ('bio-inspired robots'). The kinematics characteristics of a spider (Ornithoctonus huwena), including movement of the legs, movement of the center of mass (COM) and joint-rotation angle, were obtained from the observation of locomotion behaviors recorded by a three-dimensional locomotion observation system. Our results showed that one set of the stance phase consists of four legs, which were leg-1 and leg-3 on one side and leg-2 and leg-4 on the other side. Additionally, two sets of the stance phase comprised eight legs alternately supporting and driving the motion of the spider's body. The spider primarily increased its movement velocity by increasing stride frequency. In comparison to other insects, the spider, O. huwena, has superior movement stability. The velocity and height of COM periodically fluctuated during movement, reaching a maximum during alternation of leg phase, and falling to a minimum in the steady stance phase. The small change in deflection angle of the hind-leg was effective in driving locomotion, whereas each joint-rotation angle of the fore-leg changed irregularly during locomotion. This research will help in the design of bio-inspired robots, including the selection of gait planning and its control.WANG ZhouYi WANG JinTong JI AiHong LI HongKai DAI ZhenDong 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,25:5
Locomotion behavior and dynamics of geckos freely moving on the ceiling显示文摘To understand the mechanical interactions when geckos move on ceiling and to obtain an inspiration on the controlling strategy of gecko-like robot,we measured the ceiling reaction force(CRF) of freely moving geckos on ceiling substrate by a 3-dimensional force measuring array and simultaneously recorded the locomotion behaviors by a high speed camera.CRF and the preload force(FP) generated by the geckos were obtained and the functions and the differences between forces generated by fore-and hind-feet were discussed. The results showed that the speed of gecko moving on the ceiling was 0.17-0.48 m/s,all of the fore-and hind-legs pulled toward the body center. When geckos attached on the ceiling incipiently, the feet generated a very small incipient FP and this fine FP could bring about enough adhesive normal force and tangential force to make the gecko moving on ceiling safely. The FP of the fore-feet is larger than that of the hind-feet.The lateral CRF of the fore-feet is almost the same as that of the hind-feet's.The fore-aft CRF generated by the fore-feet directed to the motion direction and drove their locomotion, but the force generated by the hind-feet directed against the motion direction. The normal CRF of fore-and hind-feet accounted for 73.4% and 60.6% of the body weight respectively.Measurements show that the fore-aft CRF is obviously lager than the lateral and normal CRF and plays a major role in promoting the fore-feet,while the hind-feet of the main role are to provide a smooth movement. The results indicate that due to the differences of the locomotion function of each foot between different surfaces, the gecko can freely move on ceiling surfaces, which inspires the structure designing, gait planning and control developing for gecko-like robot.WANG ZhouYi WANG JinTong JI AiHong DAI ZhenDong 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,29:5
Optimising gene therapy of hypoparathyroidism with hematopoietic stem cells显示文摘Background The treatment of hypoparathyroidism (HPT) is still a difficult clinical problem, which necessitates a new therapy. Gene therapy of HPT has been valuable, but how to improve the gene transfer efficiency and expression stability is a problem. This study was designed to optimize the gene therapy of HPT with hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) recombined with the parathyroid hormone (PTH) gene.ZHOUYi LǚBing-jie, XUPing SONGChun-fang 2005Chinese Medical Journal2005,,3:4
Contribution of friction and adhesion to the reliable attachment of a gecko to smooth inclines显示文摘Geckos' ability to move on steep surfaces depends on their excellent adhesive structure, timely adjustments on locomotor behaviors, and elaborates control on reaction forces. However, it is still unclear how they can generate a sufficient driving force that is necessary for locomotion, while ensuring reliable adhesion on steep inclines. We measured the forces acting on each foot and recorded the contact states between feet and substrates when geckos encountered smooth inclination challenges ranging from 0° to 180°. The critical angles of the resultant force vectors of the front and hind-feet increased with respect to the incline angles. When the incline angle became greater than 120°, the critical angles of the front- and hind-feet were similar, and the averages of the critical angles of the front - and hind-feet were both smaller than 120°, indicating that the complicated and accurate synergy among toes endows gecko's foot an obvious characteristic of 'frictional adhesion' during locomotion. Additionally, we established a contact mechanical model for gecko's foot in order to quantify the contribution of the frictional forces generated by the heel, and the adhesion forces generated by the toes on various inclines. The synergy between multiple contact mechanisms(friction or adhesion) is critical for the reliable attachment on an inclined surface, which is impossible to achieve by using a single-contact mechanism, thereby increasing the animal's ability to adapt to its environment.Zhouyi WANG Qiang XING Wenbo WANG Aihong JI Zhendong DAI 2018Friction2018,6,4:4
Up-regulation of glycolipid transfer protein by bicyclol causes spontaneous restriction of hepatitis C virus replication显示文摘Bicyclol is a synthetic drug for hepatoprotection in clinic since 2004. Preliminary clinical observations suggest that bicyclol might be active against hepatitis C virus(HCV) with unknown mechanism. Here, we showed that bicyclol significantly inhibited HCV replication in vitro and in hepatitis C patients. Using bicyclol as a probe, we identified glycolipid transfer protein(GLTP) to be a novel restrictive factor for HCV replication. The GLTP preferentially bound host vesicle-associated membrane protein-associated protein-A(VAP-A) in competition with the HCV NS5 A, causing an interruption of the complex formation between VAP-A and HCV NS5 A. As the formation of VAP-A/NS5 A complex is essential for viral RNA replication, up-regulation of GLTP by bicyclol reduced the level of VAP-A/NS5 A complex and thus inhibited HCV replication. Bicyclol also exhibited an inhibition on HCV variants resistant to direct-acting antiviral agents(DAAs) with an efficacy identical to that on wild type HCV. In combination with bicyclol, DAAs inhibited HCV replication in a synergistic fashion. GLTP appears to be a newly discovered host restrictive factor for HCV replication, Up-regulation of GLTP causes spontaneous restriction of HCV replication.Meng-Hao Huang Hu Li Rong Xue Jianrui Li Lihua Wang Junjun Cheng Zhouyi Wu Wenjing Li Jinhua Chen Xiaoqin Lv Qiang Li Pei Lan Limin Zhao Yongfeng Yang Zonggen Peng Jiandong Jiang 2019Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2019,9,4:3

Synchronous measurement of tribocharge and force at the footpads of freely moving animals显示文摘Hypothesis on electrostatic attraction mechanisms involving the hairy adhesion of climbing animals has been a matter of controversy for several years. The detection of tribocharge and forces at attachment organs of animals is a practical method of clarifying the dispute with respect to electrostatic attraction in the attachment of animals. Nonetheless, the tribo-electrification is rarely examined in the contact-adhesion of animals(especially in their free and autonomous attachment) due to the lack of available devices. Therefore, the present study involves establishing a method and an apparatus that enables synchronous detection of tribocharge and contact forces to study tribo-electrification in the free locomotion of geckos. A type of a combined sensor unit that consists of a three-dimensional force transducer and a capacitor-based charge probe is used to measure contact forces and tribocharge with a magnitude corresponding to several nano-Coulombs at a footpad of geckos when they climb vertically upward on an acrylic oligomer substrate. The experimental results indicate that tribocharge at the footpads of geckos is related to contact forces and contact areas. The measured charge allows the expectation of an exact attraction with magnitude corresponding to dozens of newtons per square meter and provides a probability of examining tribo-electrification in animal attachment from a macro level.Yi SONG Zhouyi WANG Jun ZHOU Yang LI Zhendong DAI 2018Friction2018,6,1:3
Divisional and hierarchical innervations of G. gecko's toes to motion and reception显示文摘As a member of robot families, climbing robots have become one of the research hot-spots in the robotic field recently and Gekko gecko (G. gecko) has been broadly seen as an ideal model for climbing robot development. But for gecko-mimic robots, one of the key problems is how to design the robot's foot. In this paper, (1) high-speed camera recording and electrophysiological method are used to observe motion patterns of G. gecko's foot when it climbs on different oriented surfaces; (2) nerve innervations of gecko's toes to motion and reception are studied. It is found that the five toes of the G. gecko can be divided into two motion and reception divisions, and also its motion and reception are modulated and controlled hierarchically. The results provide important information and exclusive ideas for the foot design and control algorithm of gecko-mimic robots.GUO Ce CAI Lei XIE HeRui WANG ZhouYi DAI ZhenDong SUN JiuRong 2009Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,16:3
Synthesis of novel substituted N-aryl benzamides as hA3G stabilizers and their inhibitory activities against hepatitis C virus replication显示文摘A series of novel amino-substituted N-aryl benzamide analogs were synthesized and evaluated for their ability to inhibit hepatitis C virus(HCV)replication in acutely infected Huh7.5 cells. Most of the substituted N-aryl benzamide compounds showed convincing anti-HCV activities.Compounds 1f,1g and 4c exhibited potent anti-replicative activity at low micromolar levels(IC_(50)=1.0–2.0μM)with selective indices(SI)greater than 40.Mechanistic analysis indicated that the active compounds increased intracellular hA3G protein levels and inhibited HCV replication in a dose-dependent manner. The results demonstrate that this series of substituted Naryl benzamide compounds warrant further investigation as inhibitors of HCV replication.Yanping Li Zonggen Peng Lanhu Hao Zhouyi Wu Yanping Zhu Laixing Hu Jiandong Jiang Zhuorong Li 2013Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2013,3,5:2
Lamellar hafnium ditelluride as an ultrasensitive surface-enhanced Raman scattering platform for label-free detection of uric acid显示文摘The development of two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides has been in a rapid growth phase for the utilization in surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)analysis. Here,we report a promising 2D transition metal tellurides(TMTs)material, hafnium ditelluride(HfTe2),as an ultrasensitive platform for Raman identification of trace molecules, which demonstrates extraordinary SERS activity in sensitivity, uniformity, and reproducibility. The highest Raman enhancement factor of 2.32×10^(6)is attained for a rhodamine 6G molecule through the highly efficient charge transfer process at the interface between the HfTe2 layered structure and the adsorbed molecules. At the same time,we provide an effective route for large-scale preparation of SERS substrates in practical applications via a facile stripping strategy.Further application of the nanosheets for reliable, rapid, and label-free SERS fingerprint analysis of uric acid molecules, one of the biomarkers associated with gout disease,is performed, which indicates arresting SERS signals with the limits of detection as low as 0.1 mmol/L.The study based on this type of 2D SERS substrate not only reveals the feasibility of applying TMTs to SERS analysis, but also paves the way for nanodiagnostics, especially early marker detection.YANG LI HAOLIN CHEN YANXIAN GUO KANGKANG WANG YUE ZHANG PEILIN LAN JINHAO GUO WEN ZHANG HUIQING ZHONG ZHOUYI GUO ZHENGFEI ZHUANG ZHIMING LIU 2021Photonics Research2021,9,6:2
Strontium-substituted sub-micron bioactive glasses inhibit ostoclastogenesis through suppression of RANKL-induced signaling pathway显示文摘Strontium-substituted bioactive glass(Sr-BG)has shown superior performance in bone regeneration.Sr-BG-induced osteogenesis has been extensively studied;however,Sr-BG-mediated osteoclastogenesis and the underlying molecular mechanism remain unclear. It is recognized that the balance of osteogenesis and osteoclastogenesis is closely related to bone repair, and the receptor activators of nuclear factor kappaB ligand(RANKL)signaling pathway plays a key role of in the regulation of osteoclastogenesis.Herein,we studied the potential impact and underling mechanism of strontium-substituted sub-micron bioactive glass(Sr-SBG)on RANKL-induced osteoclast activation and differentiation in vitro. As expected,Sr-SBG inhibited RANKL-mediated osteoclastogenesis significantly with the experimental performance of decreased mature osteoclasts formation and downregulation of osteoclastogenesis-related gene expression.Furthermore,it was found that Sr-SBG might suppress osteoclastogenesis by the combined effect of strontium and silicon released through inhibition of RANKL-induced activation of p38 and NF-κB pathway. These results elaborated the effect of Sr-SBG-based materials on osteoclastogenesis through RANKLinduced downstream pathway and might represent a significant guidance for designing better bone repair materials.Deqiu Huang Fujian Zhao Wendong Gao Xiaofeng Chen Zhouyi Guo Wen Zhang 2020Regenerative Biomaterials2020,7,3:2

Redox responsive nanoparticle encapsulating black phosphorus quantum dots for cancer theranostics显示文摘Effective cancer treatment puts high demands for cancer theranostics. For cancer diagnostics, optical coherence tomography(OCT)technology(including photothermal optical coherence tomography(PT-OCT))has been widely investigated since it induces changes in optical phase transitions in tissue through environmental changes(such as temperature change for PT-OCT).In this report, redox responsive nanoparticle encapsulating black phosphorus quantum dots was developed as a robust PT-OCT agent.Briefly, black phosphorus quantum dots(BPQDs)are incorporated into cysteine-based poly-(disulfide amide)(Cys-PDSA)to form stable and biodegradable nanoagent. The excellent photothermal feature allows BPQD/Cys-PDSA nanoparticles(NPs)as a novel contrast agent for high-resolution PT-OCT bioimaging. The Cys-PDSA can rapidly respond to glutathione and effectively release BPQDs and drugs in vitro and in vivo. And the obtained NPs exhibit excellent near-infrared(NIR)photothermal transduction efficiency and drug delivery capacity that can serve as novel therapeutic platform, with very low chemo drug dosage and side effects. Both of the polymer and BPQD are degradable, indicating this platform is a rare PT-OCT agent that is completely biodegradable.Overall, our research highlights a biodegradable and biocompatible black phosphorus-based nanoagent for both cancer diagnosis and therapy.Haolin Chen Zhiming Liu Bo Wei Jun Huang Xinru You Jingyang Zhang Zhiling Yuan Zhilie Tang Zhouyi Guo Jun Wu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,3:1

Electrostatic attraction caused by triboelectrification in climbing geckos显示文摘Adhesion achieved through feet setae is fundamental for gecko agilely maneuvering.Although diverse hypotheses have been proposed, none of them thoroughly explains the setae function, implying a kind of hybrid-mechanism-based adhesion in geckos. In addition to van der Waals interactions and capillary force, the electrostatic attraction that emerges from triboelectrification was suggested as a component of setae adhesion.Nevertheless, the contribution by electrostatic attraction to the total setae attachment is still controversial. In this study,we analyzed the occurrence of electrostatic attraction at gecko setae through experiments and model analyses.By touching the substrates with only~1/70th of the foot area, freely wall-climbing geckos developed tribocharge at their feet setae with a density of~277 pC/mm^(2),generating electrostatic attractions with a strength of~4.4 mN/mm^(2).From this perspective, the adhesion driven by triboelectrification could account for about 1%of total adhesion.Model analyses at spatula level indicated a similar result showing that the electrostatic force might account for~3%of the adhesion that facilitates wall-climbing in geckos. The low contribution of the electrostatic force partly explains why geckos always face difficulty in maneuvering onto those substrates(e.g.,teflon)where they could easily develop tribocharge but difficultly generate van der Waals force.However,long-range electrostatic forces may play other roles in a distance range where the van der Waals interaction cannot function. These findings not only add to our understanding of the mechanism of gecko adhesion, but also will help us advance gecko-inspired fibular adhesives.Yi SONG Zhouyi WANG Yang LI Zhendong DAI 2022Friction2022,10,1:1
